I've had an ARM with Countrywide for three years - I was going to refinance but have since found out the value of my property is less than the balance on my loan. Now I have to wait until the market perks up again. In the meantime, I've had a heart attack and understanbably couldn't work for awhile. I called Countrywide to see if they would defer some payments until I was back on my feet. I was told NO! They sent me to the 'Workout' department where I submitted a hardship letter in February 08. I was told to check back in 30 days. Almost every week since then I've been told either that they don't have my papers, it's not their job and they'll pass it to a supervisor and during each and every call, was told to call back in a week which I have been doing and getting the same old run around. One representative even suggested 'downsizing' or selling my home! It's a small, modest home I share with my...

SusyBee says "Out of state broker---NO PROBLEM!! " about Hart West Financial

To start, I have alot of experience with dealing with brokers, I have several rental properties and have been through the buying process countless times. I started this transaction with another Mortgage Broker that was local, boy was that a mistake...I was told I was approved, no issues, and then all the way up until the day before I was suppost to sign I was informed the deal wasn't going to go thru. This is when I started doing research and came upon Hart West, with me being in WA and Hart West in AZ, I was a little hesitant. After checking out their website and speaking with the Vice President regarding my situation, I found them to be extremely helpful. The application process was much easier than the previous company I had been working with. Hart West did exactly what was told to me and within the month I had closed on the property. I have been told before it is difficult to deal with an out of state Mortgage Broker, in the case of Hart West this is not true. I was completly...

My husband and I have bought and sold several homes so we are not new to the mortgage market. We purchased our current home in 2006 and received a loan from CCO Mortgage, which we obtained through our bank, Charter One. — We had used CCO Mortgage on our previous home with no problems, so when their rates were competitive with other banks, we decided to use them again. — We thought that all was well until one year after we closed on our mortgage loan. We received a letter stating that our escrow account was short by almost $6,000!!!! As if that wasn't bad enough, if we chose to pay our escrow shortage IN FULL, our monthly payment would "only" INCREASE by $365 PER MONTH! — We did not understand how such a huge mistake could have happened so the phone calls (and problems) began. After getting minimal assistance from the customer service department, we contacted the person who help us obtain our...

User25 says "Capital One, "Time is of the essence" in real estate." about Capital One Home Loans

Follow-up. Capital One should stick to auto loans and credit cards. I have one of each with them and they're great. Because in those businesses, a missed credit card payment means a mere surcharge. And a missed auto loan check means the buyer will wait a few more days before driving off in a new vehicle. However, in the home mortgage business, a missed deadline means movers / shippers need to be rescheduled at great cost, and the buyer's life is suddenly ground to a halt without a place to move into. Capital One Home Mortgage, this has been a trainwreck. As I predicted in my previous review, Capital One Home Mortgage was days away from missing escrow closing date. Today is the escrow closing date, and I have no keys in my hand. To my surprise, I explained to the Capital One Home Mortgage loan consultant that they were going to miss the escrow close date, and yet each time their loan consultant replied something to the effect of, "No, no, we're still steaming full speed ahead with the...

wamusucks says "NEVER EVER EVER BANK HERE!" about Washington Mutual Customer Service

Somebody cloned my card (apparently, that can be done). They drained my account of over 6,000 dollars. I paid EXTRA to even get an account with this bank. EXTRA for the fraud protection. EXTRA! I have contacted the bank daily for OVER A MONTH. Sent emails, called, went in. They kept saying things like, oh, we are investigating, oh, we will take care of it. NOTHING was ever done. I just got off the phone AGAIN with a fraud department, she yelled at me, belittled me, accused me of lying to her, and downright treated me like dirt. Why am I paying for this? They refuse to do anything about this, even though they charged me for it. And, to top it off, they SOLD my account info to online companies, who, in turn, are also taking HUNDREDS of dollars a day out of my account. WHY? This is rediculous. Please, people, don't EVER, EVER, bank here, unless you want 90% of your check to go to fees and charges, and just be gone. I am sorry, but I don't work to support a FRAUDULENT ONLINE...

Capital One Home Loans advertists "Close in 10 days or less". Having transferred cross country and paying a daily hotel rate, I chose a lender that was "fast" to the best of my ability. I set an escrow closing date for the 30th of April, leaving almost a month in the worst case scenario. — Well it is the 24th, with only 3 business days till closing date, and still no final loan documents have been transmitted from Capital One to the escrow/title company. — It does not appear that Capital One understands how home loans work or the need to expedite in order to meet deadlines. Not only do they not live up to their advertisement of "Close in 10 days or less" they are three business days away from missing the escrow closing date. — I do not have anything positive to say about Capital One Home Loans for mis-managing the appraisal and causing the need for a second appraisal to be ordered, completely wasting a week of progress and wasting another week of hotel...

I found Hart West to be very helpful when refinancing my home this year. I got a great interest rate and paid substantially less fees than I had previously paid with other mortgage companies.

Hart West started out too good to be true. They had great rates, low fees, and the first customer service person that I dealt with was very informative and helped me out with all of my questions. She answered my emails and took my phone calls. However, during the course of the loan, my file was transferred to two other people who were less than helpful and the last person was just rude and refused my calls. — — We have outstanding credit, we had a huge downpayment and plenty of time to close on the loan so in theory, this should have gone pretty smooth. Instead, Hart West was unable to provide me with a loan, they didn't notify me of this until 2 days before my closing date and the woman was so rude and unapologetic that I was made to feel like I was in the wrong. I wasn't given any portion of my application fee back even though she said she probably could since they didn't do an appraisal. They were very unprofessional and unfriendly about the whole situation. They...

On Feb 20th, @ 9:45 am, I called WAMu's customer service toll free number to find out the amount of my principal balance from the fiasco that one of WAMu's local branch has done to my account (Check my other review - WAMu's local branch in National City, CA). — After 30 minutes on hold (that they have a high volume of calls that day - so when is it not high?) someone finally answered the phone. A female employee (I did not catch her name but if they WAMu check the notes on my account they will know who she is), I explained to her my situation (about the local branch not crediting my account completely and I'm in a deadline because of my rate lock expiring for my loan modification), she then told me to hold (again!) so she can get a supervisor. After about a minute, I heard a dial tone, so she supposedly "accidentally" hang up the phone on me. I could not call back because I had to be somewhere by 10:45 am but planned on calling back because I need to get this issue resolved...

On Feb. 9th, I was speaking to Pam Bacci of the Mortgage (Refinance) Division in Chicago of WAMu for us to do a modification of our mortgage. We were told that in order for us to get a better rate, we have to pay down the existing loan amount to the conforming loan amount of $417,000. I then proceeded to do that so on Feb 13th, I went to a local branch in National City CA (#1470) to make the said deposit. The teller, Cynthya, asked me if I had already made a payment for February and since I knew that the monthly payment is automatically taken out of our account on the 1st of the month, I told the her Yes, I have made my payment for this month and I want the whole amount ($14,765.00) to be applied towards my principal so the principal balance should have been $416,999.62. I then explained to her what I intend to do (loan modification). She called a supervisor (I did not catch his name) to make sure that she is doing the deposit correctly and for IT to be applied wholely to...
