This card was suppose to be a starter card for me. They are not a good company to get a credit card through. I was on the right track for a while until I idnt not recieve one of my statements me being new at this decided not to worry. Then I got my next statement in the mail saying that I was late. This than lead to me calling the company to tell them what happened only to have them tell me that all they could do was send it out that day. What good does that do me? none I was already past due because of a mistake they made and decided not to fix. Along with that the APR rate is ridiculous! I will never deal with them again once I pay this off im done with them!
...

willowtree says "Beware Bad Service" about Chase - Freedom Card

The card offer good rewards, but when I logon my account last night and saw my chase freedom was changed into Chase SAPPHIRE that I never knew what it's. I called the Customer service, they said my card is SAPPHIRE, they don't even know what was happening, and superviser made a research and said FREEDOM no longer avaiable, my card became chase SAPPHIRE. With SAPPHIRE, many things chaged and the reward program changed. Just want to share this with everyone that beware of that Chase card becomes a bad company. They should notice the custome before any transition. I will close all my chase card, and looking for a better one.
...

We had our mortgage with Everhome for many years. We were able to pay the mortgage off at the beginning of this year..2009. We never once had a problem with them in any way. I feel that often times complaints are made toward companies that are not only unfounded but complaints because they expected "special" services or were delinquint in their payments. When I called the home office to obtain a copy of our loan being paid off, they immediately took care of it and the gentleman whom I spoke with actually congratulated us as he knew I was ecstatic. I will always recommend Everhome Mortgage to others as being honest as well as efficient. J.Nixon
...

tanj88 says "Upfront and convenient." about Geico

I am a college student with less than 3 years to my driver's license so it was a nightmare trying to find a company that would insure me, much less one that would insure me me for an affordable price. My choices were GEICO and progressive, but the GEICO agents that I spoke to were more helpful. My friends have GEICO and one of them got a fender-dent from a hit and run while parked in the school lot. GEICO was very easy to deal with and did not give us a hard time for the repair. Also, they gave me an OK price, one of the lowest compared to other auto insurance companies. What I like the most though is that you can manage your policy online - as in, make payments and adjustments. I dont drive everyday so I can just downgrade my policy to collision, comprehensive and minimum margins, then restore the upgrades when I will use again. I really like GEICO so far and plan to stay with them for a while.
...

When they came to my worksite it was very easy for me to see the "value" in their products. That held up until I checked the competition and had a claim to file.

Most of the companies that offered supplemental type products were in a different world as far as price. Some more than half the price. I think Aflac is so big because they appear to flood the market with "agents". I never saw the same agent twice. Our human Resources said they would have 3 different people call on the business every week. Even after we were an account.

I fell and broke my arm. First thing I did was attempt to call the person that had sold me the policy. They were no longer with the company. I found a number in the phone book. I was only able to get hold of a girl that answered the office phone. She was not an agent. She informed me it was my job to go online and file my own paperwork. REALLY!!! I am paying good money for a product that I assumed would have some degree of service. I was wrong.

I did get my claim...
...

I must commend the customer service team for helping me make sense of a highly unusual promotional problem. I had receieved a letter in the mail congratulating me on the receipt of my new Sears MasterCard, and inviting me to join their Sears Choice Rewards program. I was also offered 500 points if I were to use the card within the next two days (by 10/31/09)..plus an extra 1000 points for using the card only twice more before December 31. To make a long story short, the customer service team informed me that my new Sears MasterCard was on its way, and that it would replace my old Sears/K-Mart card. I was then told that if I went to either Sears or K-Mart within the next two days and made any purchase charged to my old Sears/K-Mart card, that it would qualify toward my receiving the promised 500 points. Finally, I was encouraged to call back and let the Sears Choice Rewrds folks know when my new MasterCard arrived, so that they could make sure that the points would be properly...
...

I've had this card for years, it changes slightly but they take care of all that. You are covered in case of fraud (experienced this issue and it was all fine). Best of all, it accumulates points very quickly and you can use the points toward your next bill, so great for saving money because you really saved the money instead of spending it on something you normally wouldn't have bought. this is the best card I've ever had. No fooling. You can also use the points for other things, like airline miles and gift cards and it translates at the same dollar value.
...

I was trying to purchase my first home and I had a very limited time frame due to my company's relocation. I had 40 days to be exact and I hadn't even started looking for homes yet. I was turned down by Bank of America and Prudential. I was about to give up when someone suggested Quicken. I called Quicken and was immediately approved. I was very skeptical as to why I was turned down by others and accepted by Quicken. I was also skeptical because they were an on-line company and I had such a short frame of time. Stephanie Thomas was the representative from Quicken who take care of me and she assured me the whole way through that everything would be fine. Once I found the home I wanted and the offer was accepted we had 24 days to close our loan. Not only did the process go by quickly and smoothly but we closed right on time! Stephanie Thomas called me almost everyday to let me know where the status of the closing was and exactly how the whole process worked along the way. Thank you...
...

I love love love Kohls! As a young teen in highschool my favorite store was JCPenny, but as Kohls started showing up in our area I began to fall in love! At Kohls I can find clothes and accessories for me, my husband, and my son. Not to mention gifts for all my family and friends. Their sales are far better than any other department store in our area. The best way to shop there is by getting a Kohls credit card and using it during their scratch off sales. I have a Kohls charge card with them and so always qualify for the extra discounts.Even if you don't want to have a credit card, it's worth it to get one and receive the discounts. As a stay at home mom I love being able to shop for wedding and baby showers when my friends register there. It means I can get a great gift for an even greater price! I definately recomend this store to all of my friends and family. We love to post our recent buys and how much money we saved on facebook.
...

this credit card is very versatile. it allows you to shop ith a low interest rate. it also allows you to get cash back on purchases made. this credit card is very trustable with no hidden fees. I strongly recommend this card because bank of america is a bank that you can trust. this card also has the capability to earn travel rewards. there is also an introductory apr on balance transfers. Bank of america also offers excellent customer service such as live phone support within 60 seconds and easy online servicing options that puts a person in control. The card also offers timely emails that helps avoid service fees. An important feature the card offers is fraud protection that has 24 hour technical support. Overall the card is one of the best and safest cards a person can use due to low apr interest and great rewards. I recommend this card to everybody who is thinking to open an account with bank of america.
...

muwhobbit says "Bank of America's a decent bank for students" about Bank of America

I got an account with Bank of America when I moved to Athens. So far, my opinions are pretty positive. I got a $50 signup bonus, and for the first 90 days they also matched 100% of my "Keep the Change" savings, which racked up close to $250. This was definitely a big reason for my opening an account with them.

That being said, my account doesn't have too many frills. I don't get a high interest rate on my savings (something like 0.002 percent or something - it's negligible) and I'm subject to an account maintenance fee unless I have my paycheck direct deposited every month. I like the "Keep the Change" program a lot; it's easy to overlook how quickly fifty cents here or there adds up, and so far this year I've saved close to $500 just using the program.

Their customer service is always friendly and helpful, but it can take a while to get in contact with a real person. My card was stolen over the holidays last year, and I was on hold for an hour and forty-five minutes waiting for a customer...
...

I've been an American Express cardholder since 2004. I have the basic, no-frills Green Card, which costs me $39 annually, but I'm completely happy paying for it. I earn 1 Membership Rewards point per dollar spent on most purchases, but sometimes American Express runs promotions that can earn me up to 10 points per dollar. The great thing about these points is that you can use them for a variety of things. Over the years, I've gotten Longhorn Steakhouse gift cards, Delta SkyMiles, a $100 Holiday Inn waiver, and several other rewards with Membership Rewards. There aren't any blackout dates for using them on travel, and if you want to pay for part of a ticket you book through American Express with cash and part with reward points, you can. Their program is so flexible!

Their customer service is also great. I've been contacted several times about potential fraudulent activity, and I've never had to pay any of the fraudulent charges (I live in a big college town, and credit card number theft...
...

I got this card to use on a European vacation to get cash as I needed it. I thought I understood the terms and conditions, but I was wrong. I was charged $10 every time I got a "cash advance" from an ATM machine. Not only that, I was charged 24% becase the "cash advance" was unpaid until the due date. What I mean by that is that even though I paid the amount owed in full on the due date, I was still charged a finance charge because there was a cash advance on the account in the time period.

The card was advertised as having an introductory 0% finance charge for the first few months. After talking with a rather snippy customer service representative, I immediately cancelled the card.

It took GMAC 5 months to reject my refinance request. I question whether there may be something fishy going on as they also own the original loan. During the 5 months, they constantly requested new updated materials as the old ones expired due to their slow response. I've resubmitted everything from paystubs to homeowners association minutes due to this. Evidently, GMAC is concerned about where dogs are pooping around my condo.

Yes, they are still a financial institution, but the treatment that I have received here is superior to every other place I've done business with. I have banking, home and auto insurance with USAA and am happy with all their products and services even after having to file a few claims; something's got to be said for that.

I am a good paying credit card customer. I am generally always carrying a balance, sometimes more than others. I did business with citi for several years & had a 6.5% interest rates. I went through a separation and financially, thinks got tight. I used my credit cards a lot more, but still never went over my limit. I was never once late on a payment. One day, I got a bill & my minimum payment went through the roof. I called them & they said they can change my interest rate whenever they want & they went from 6.5% to 16%. Needless to say, I cancelled the card!
...

mogu says "Worst customer service EVER!!!!" about TD Bank NA

This company does not believe in customer service.

I received a charge that I don't think I should have & called the number on the bill. The guy was in India & I couldn't even understand him. He wouldn't let me talk to a supervisor and told me I had to dispute the charge in writing. I sent a letter that day and they never responded. I did receive a copy of the terms in an envelope, but no letter or explanation.

The next month I received a charge for not paying the disputed amount. I wrote again and told them that I never received a response to the first letter, and again, no reponse, just a copy of the terms in an envelope.

I called about it and they claim a supervisor sent a letter both times, but all I ever got was an envelope with a copy of my terms, no letter or explanation. I asked to speak with the supervisor and was told that two supervisors responded and there was nothing they could do. I asked for a copy of the letters, but was denied and was not allowed...
...
