saltwaterhappy says "Like a good neighbor - State Farm is there." about State Farm

I have been insured with State Farm since I began driving; over 20 years now. Every time I bother to take the time to compare quotes, my insurance with State Farm is so much better a deal, plus, the have multi-line discount that saves a good deal. To get multi-line, I had to sign up for a hospitalization policy that cost nearly exactly what I was saving, so, I have hospitalization for free - no additional charge. They always are quick to pay - I've had accidents that were my fault, and accidents that were others' faults....

CyndiA says "Gotta love the gecko - but too big and said "no" to my Harley." about Geico

Geico sure got it right with that gecko campaign. That gecko probably ranks up close to Santa Claus as far as recognition. I give credit where credit is due. Stroke of genius - that gecko. — I went with USAA for many years for car insurance and was always happy with them, but I thought maybe I could save a buck or two. Geico sounds like a great low cost alternative. — I called. No problems other than they could not cover my Harley. Bummer. They farmed that out to Progressive I think. Now I see on commercials that they cover motorcycles. I guess they listened when they called and asked why I switched and I said I wanted someone to cover my bike too. I smile when I see that commercial and wonder how much my input impacted. OK. Probably not much. Still interesting that they added bikes. The bike was one of my concerns, but I made the switch when my kid turned 15 and was going on my policy. The quote on a 16 year old male looked high. State Farm had...

hotpepper says "They suck" about Progressive

They were my insurance company and also covered the driver of a vehicle that rear-ended me.
— My son & I both went to the Chiropractor numerous times for whiplash. the agent who came to look at my vehicle, was a total rag, actually gave me two checks (written out for a pitifully low amount, and told me that one was to cover medical and the other for damages to my car. I had to call a supervisor to get the situation resolved. —

About a month after the accident I received a nasty letter from the adjustor(the total rag) including pictures of my vehicle and basically accused me of fraud!!!!
— I called a supervisor again, and I don't know how they handled the situation but I told him if she contacted me again, I would sue them for harassment and had to remind them numerous times, that they were also supposed to be MY insurance company and should start behaving that way. —

Needless to say, I won't go with them any more. —...

I have been with American Family insurance for more than 10 years now. I have considered the teasers from the other internet insurance companies, but don't want to trade the personal relationship with our agent. When I have a question or need new insurance he is there day or night to help out. They have always been quick to settle a claim and get the ball rolling. I have found they are the best bang for the buck in our area in car and home insurance...

I have been told that the value of your insurance is no better than your insurance agent. I understand this to mean: I have someone I can call in the middle of the night, and they will respond to me personally, or there is an office I can walk into when I feel the need. For example, I have locked myself out of my car more than once, and after I pay the lock smith, I deliver the receipt to my local State Farm office for reimbursement. — However, I retired last year, and finances are more of an issue now than when I was working, so I have been considering AARP Car Insurance since I am a member. I must confess, I am not savvy when it comes to breaking down the insurance jargon to compare item for item and price for price. Plus, I'm a little fearful of switching, and I feel a little disloyal. But I witnessed a friend of mind as she discussed a recent car accident with an AARP Insurance Agent over the...

We went with AllState after moving to Florida. The agent offered me a decent rate and her office was convenient to my home. I was satisfied. After all, All State is a reputable company, right?? — Wrong! After six months, the agent called to inform me that the automobile rates were going to triple. We had filed no claims. She said they were changing the subsidiary of All State that wrote coverage in this area. — Sorry. That was enough to turn me off completely. Even though my own brother is an All State Agent, I would never give my business to them again....

We have had AIG for auto insurance for about five years now, and I have no complaints. Their prices are very competitive. My experiences with Customer Support Staff have been positive. I have to admit that we have not filed any claims with them, so I cannot review them on that aspect of their services. — I pay my bills online with AIG which is quick and easy with no hidden fees. I like the fact that I can go online and check details of my policies at any time, without having to dig through my paper files, or place a phone call. — I have dealt with Customer Service staff when I was making changing to the policies, adding a car or deleting a car, and changing coverage. The Service staff were courteous and performed the changes without any errors. — I had State Farm and AllState prior to AIG. I would never go with them again. State Farm cancelled our coverage when we moved to Florida, just because they no longer...
