NattScatt says "A Show About Cats For Those Of Us Who Like Cats" about Cats: 101

I have a cat named Que Sera. She is about a year old. She is a love. I also collect cats. Cat figurines, glasswear, knick-knacks etc. I think this qualifies me as a cat lover. I just think they are so pretty. So funny and mysterious. Since I work ful time and Que Sera is often left alone, I switch on a TV to the Animal Planet and turn the volume down on my way out the door. I don't think the cat watches this, mind you, but I feel better thinking I left her with entertainment.

One evening when I came home, I sat petting Que Sera while absently watching whatever show that was on Animal Planet at that time. I saw a commercial for a show called Cats: 101. It said it was a new series about cat breeds, their origins, habits, health and how well they would work in certain families. I immediately set up a series recording for the show and then turned the channel and went to take a shower.

The first episode of Cats: 101 I caught was about three different cat breeds. ...
...

mommabot says "Very cute show, but not great for teaching beginners." about Word World

My 4-year old and 3-year-old love this show. We don't watch it on TV, but we have 3 DVD's that we picked up at Target with 4 episodes each. Of the 12 episodes we have, they are allowed to watch 9 or 10 of them. There are a few that teach or encourage subtle lies, so we skip those. The ones that are good are very good, though. All of the characters in the show are animals that are made out of their letters. Many things in the show, like dog's house and frog's log are made out of letters as well. There is always at least one word "built" in each show and there's a catchly little song and dance the animals do when they're building a word. The letters are read and then they morph into the object, made out of the letters. It really doesn't teach phonics or even basic letter sounds, so I don't think this really teaches anything. I think it could be helpful for spelling for a child that can already read - my daughter has remembered how to spell 'pie' since she was tiny.
...

jadeval76 says "THE WIRE should have won many Emmy awards" about The Wire

I never watched The Wire when it was on TV, just didn't think I'd get into it~

My husband Netflixed the entire series last summer and we watched it together and all I can say is WOW ~ How did this series not win all of the Emmy awards each season?

We could hardly wait for each disc to arrive while we were watching it, not just for Season One either, for every single season~

The drug trade and people on the streets were enacted so realistically that I actually felt like I was THERE with each episode~ I especially enjoyed the characters of Marlow, Stringer Bell, and all of the detectives and policemen and women~

The Wire was a series that I hated to see end, It really left me wanting more.

There were so many characters that could have been expanded on so I don't know why the series had to end when it did~ IT WAS THAT GOOD!
...

stephkenner says "All time favorite!" about The Deadliest Catch

I discovered Deadliest Catch a couple of years ago when there was a marathon on Discovery Channel and I was hooked. I watched it from 12 noon until 11 pm that night, non stop. The bravery that these men &their crews show, amazes me. My favorite boat is The Time Bandit, with The Cornelia Marie coming in a close second. My husbands favorite boat is The Northwestern. He said if he ever went out on a crabbing boat, Sig would be the one he would want to be with.

Deadliest Catch is my all time favorite TV show and people that don't watch it, have no idea what they're missing.
...

I started watchng Cold Case years ago and truly enjoy the show. It reminds me of a jigsaw puzzle and the detectives have to put the pieces together. When you think you have solved the crime or the murder another twist happens and you find out that it is not the person you suspected. The only problem that I have with the show is that it comes on at 10:00 on Sunday nights and when there is a football game, there may be a 15 to 20 minute delay. Last year the show came on at 9:00 which was a good time. I will probably miss some of the episodes until the football season is over.
...

I started watching Three Rivers in hopes that I would not like it. After the first episode I got hooked. The show reminds people the importance of organ donations. Many people are afraid to be an organ donor because they believe they need all of their organs when they die. This show lets people know that you don't need to die in order to an organ donor. I renewed my driver's license last week and I have been an organ donor for several years. I also convinced a young man who was renewing his license to become an organ donor. I hope more people will watch the show and know that when they transition, they can help their fellow man/woman.
...

Nurse Jackie finished it's first season on Showtime and is a fabulous hit. It is the story of a nurse that is caring while also addicted to pain killers and xanax. She is fooling around wiht the hospital pharmacist, although married with two children. The plot is always fast moving and fun. She is so likable with a smart mouth and confidence in her abilities to care for the ER patients. As strong a character as she portrays, there is also a softer side to her that peeks out occassionally. Last season ended with her apparently overdosing after her hospital boyfriend meets her husband. You will laugh through this smart new show!
...

Whatever happened to this great show? I saw only a few episodes and was beginng to get into it and then there was no more! I loved these beautiful and successful career women with their stylish clothes, smarts and men problems. I felt there was a bit of fantasy me in each. Each of them had a little of me and also some characteristics of who I wanted to be. I liked the hardworking career woman who was more succesful than her unemployed husband. I loved the woman with the sexy and adoring younger boyfriend. She seemed so wholesome, yet had this amazing secret witha husband who was tricky because he knew her secret. Then there was the exotic and beautiful fashion designer with the millionaire boyfriend pursuing her. Who wouldn't want these great lives. I related to each woman and miss this show. No one was too overbearing in this show for me. Personalities differ and some are naturally stronger than others.
...

Jason and Grant, Roto-Rooter guys by day and Ghost Hunters by night. Two skeptical guys who have a small team of ghost hunters who travel all over the United States and some other countries in previous episodes trying to debunk problems and explain if your dealing with something paranormal. I have been watching this show for years and I cannot get enough of it! If you are a non-believer you must watch this show a few times and you will be hooked! I am all about the paranormal and spirits and hauntings so I feed off of these episodes and cannot wait to watch the next show. They set up tons of camera's and have a camera man with them and you can clearly see nothing is doctored or being intentionally done for "show". It's 100% real and they take you to all kinds of places that are deemed "haunted" and show you if there really is something there. They record EVP's and do thermal camera and they have all kinds of neat gadgets and things going. I love this show, everyone I know loves this show...
...

I truly enjoy Fringe. It's well acted and well written and wonderfully wierd. It began sort of strange and has been moving closer and closer to beyond the fringe with each subsequent episode. Anna Torv (Olivia) and Joshua Jackson (Peter) somehow are able to make all these wierd goings on seem matter of fact. John Nobel is a wonderful mad scientist and a kind of sexy senior citizen. Now that Leonard Nemoy has joined the cast I just can't wait to see what will happen next. Bravo to FOX for bringing SciFi back to network primetime.
...

I LOVED Charmed! It was one of my and my oldest daughters favorite shows! We used to be able to watch it together! She is off at college now, and I sent the entire series to her on DVD in her first few care packages, because I knew it would be something that she would love and it would be like a taste of home. The only sad thing about the show that we could think of was the ending, we felt that they did that kind of poorly, they ended it badly, with the children and everything kind of thrown together kind of slopily at the ending very quickly. But we kept hoping that it meant that it meant there would be an opening for a new series about the children! But sadly No! : ( We could always hope! We always hoped that they would do a reunion movie or something also, but so far no hope of that either, with it being as popular as it was it is really so surprising to me that it has not happened. There were the books that the young preteen girls read and the magic books that they bought...
...

Where to start... My husband and I began watching this a little late. We caught up with it by borrowing dvd's and have since been catching it on television. On the occasions where we have missed it, it has been wonderful of CW to make it available on their website for us to watch the missed episode. Someone mentioned that the two main actors are great actors. I disagree a little, I think they're somewhat average. However, that seems to be part of their charm and the show's charm. So Dean's a little cheesey and Sam's a bit melodramatic. Dean's always such a tough guy and Sam's always got the same hurt little boy look. So what? It's still fun. They did lose me last season when the focus was primarily on Sam and Dean getting on the angels' or demons' sides. But it appears so far this season to have taken a back seat and that they are going back to their original premise of solving spooky tales. I heard they were going to be done the fifth season. The show will be...
...

I don't watch much prime time television and when the promos for FlashForward came on I didn't want to get caught up in yet another series that gets you hooked with great commercial hype then leaves you dead in the water wondering what happened. Yes that's one heck of a run-on sentence but bear with me. I watched the first episode, remote in hand ready to switch it to a movie . . . it never happened . . . within the first five minutes I was hooked on FlashForward.

The premise is simply complex [oxymoron, indeed] the entire world goes unconscious for exactly two minute, seventeen seconds causing global chaos. When they regain consciousness they've all experienced a glimpse of their future, however, some didn't. Is it real, is it a phenomenon, aliens, U.S. government? I was skeptical but continued to watch even though I've been seduced by these types of shows before and left disappointed. FlashForward didn't disappoint; it keeps me glued to my seat from start to finish. ...
...

My children grew up watching Full House. It is a great movie that has a lot moral lessons. It is a series that follow three daughters growing up in a household with essentially three fathers. These children lost their mother when they were young but are filled with love by their two uncles, an aunt, and their father. Each episode is very different but follow a similar story line. It has a lot of comedy and the household is very eccentric. One uncle is a comedian, one is a semi-rockstar, the father and the aunt are co-hosts on a show called Wake Up San Francisco. Their is also the crazy teenage next door neighbor who is very funny but a little on the wild side. As these children grow up, you can really relate to some of the troubles that they go through. These girls want a mother and find it hard to talk to their "fathers" about personal feminine issues. It's a touching series but is a great family series to watch.
...

I absolutely love this show and so does the rest of my family. The writing is so good. This is the type of show that needs to be recorded so you can watch it more than once because you can miss a few things because you are having so much fun laughing or enjoying a part of the scene that you end up missing another part. This show tells us that different types of family dynamics do work together. The writing is so good I don't know how they will be able to top the first season.
...

Kinda tired of the whole gloom & doom story line. I much prefer the light and funny side of these intriguing characters. Jensen & Jared are extremely good actors but I feel they need a more diverse story line. The writers almost seem like they are trying to put these to characters together as a couple rather than brothers. Writers, the end of the world story line is boring move on and it wouldn't hurt to include another character or two. Again I say more diversity. I have really enjoyed the lighter funnier episodes and wish they would do more of them.
...

pitcherday says "For me, there is no better drama than the classic Route 66" about Route 66: Producer's Picks

OK, look... some people get lost in science-fiction, graphic novels, role-playing games, rom-coms, whatever... I love the whole "American ideal" kind of a thing... you know, like Rosie the Riveter, and victory gardens, and the innovativeness and indomitable spirit that is uniquely American. The actual highway US Route 66, was an American icon and the pieces of it that remain hearken back to a time when families could afford to go on long road trips with their families in gas-guzzling cars that had a seating capacity of 20 or so. Mom and Pop motels and diners thrived along the route. People sometimes say "that was a better time..." It probably actually wasn't but since I wasn't born then, it's fun to think about.

That being said, the television series Route 66 aired from 1960-1964 on CBS. How did I become acquainted with it? Way back when cable television first made its debut, the channel Nickelodeon aired children's programming during the day, then at 7pm, it changed from Nickelodeon to...
...

kellymiller222 says "Real reality t.v. " about Ace of Cakes TV Show

Ace of Cakes is quite possibly one of the best combinations of reality t.v. I have ever seen. You could say it was a mix of reality t.v., the Martha Stewart Show, and food network challenge. In essence beautiful cakes with a spark... literally. Chef Duff and his fellow cake makers are hilarious to watch. They are witty, fun loving, and kinda cooky. The show revolves around the completion of cake orders that are anything but ordinary. One week they are making a Hogwart Castle cake for the primer of a Harry Potter movie and another day they are making a cake in the form of a cat. Over all this show is great and something the whole family can watch.

Here is a list of some of the other types of cakes they have done.

A sushi platter complete with bowls and chop sticks.

A bowl of popcorn that looked incredibly real ( much like the majority of the cakes they take on )

A spooky zombie Halloween inspired wedding cake with a zombie bride and groom.

This show take things you would...

...

Cayt says "Supernatural: Hell in a hand basket with style." about Supernatural

It is hell in a hand basket, but at least we get to see it in style. One of my favorite shows, Supernatural provides the perfect balance of action, adventure, family conflict, sci-fi, drama, and comedy to make the entire show a success. Leaving you breathless from suspence one moment to rolling on the floor laughing the next, the show never fails to hit the right notes. Primarily based off two brothers, Dean and Sam Winchester, Supernatural delves into the realm of the supernatural. That's right: ghosts, demons, angels, the works. They are all real, and they are all here on a mission. Both Dean and Sam hunt these beings, preventing them from causing more harm in a community or saving (trying to save) the world from the apocalypse. During the first season, the boys focused more on finding their father. Season two and three focused on saving Sam from the prophesy about him. Four: stopping the apocalypse, and five: dealing with the apocalypse now that is has been unleashed upon the world....
...
