I purchased a Leapster for my son who is 5 and getting ready to start kindergarten. It gives him something to do while in the car or waiting at an appointment. The games are easy for him to understand and he advances quickly to higher learning levels. I highly recommend this product to anyone with a younger boy or girl. My son is ahead of most of the kids in his preschool class and some of the credit goes to his...

We have two Leap Frog Lily toys. One is small that attaches to her stroller or carrier. The other is a doll. My daughter has loved to play with her Lily since she could lift her neck and smile. Lily mostly teaches numbers with music and other objects. This style of learning I can say first hand is very effective. My daughter has been counting (well she now sez 1-3,6,7,9&10) since she turned a year old. — I do give a lot of that credit to this doll. —...

If you have room in your budget, the Step 2 Sand and Water Activity Center is well worth your money! We purchased ours on sale for $60 and even my frugal husband agrees that it was a smart purchase. — My handy husband said that it was easy to assemble, even with the "help" of two toddlers. The umbrella easily folds down and we store it out of the sun when not in use. — I really like that the kids stand up while playing with this instead of sitting down in a sandbox. This table is much bigger than our previous sandbox and with the sturdy cover, I don't have to worry about neighborhood critters getting inside of it during the night. — Our kids play with this for hours and never tire of it. The table is large enough to accomodate up to eight children so there is no fighting, other than "so-and-so took my boat and won't share the shovel," etc. Also, I can't promise that there won't be any occurences...

My son is 16 months old and loves to color. I bought the crayon TaDoodles which say they are for 12+ months and older. Because they are weighted, he has a hard time holding the crayon just right to make it color. It's really awkward for him to hold. His friends have the same exact problem as well. Maybe as he gets older he'll be better with them. But for now.. he has no problems with regular old...

The John Deere Mighty Trike — — by Learning Curve Toys — — Vince Gill sang "Well she might have took my car keys but she forgot about my old John Deere." John Deere is never forgotten around our "farmette." Our John Deere is one of our proudest purchases. We use it for our garden, to move dirt, to move rocks, to clear snow, to plant trees and yes, occasionally even to drive to the mailbox or pose our kids for their Christmas photo. I know, I know... but it does look really Christmassy when they sit on the green tractor with their cute red outfits. Anyway... — — When it time to buy our son a tricycle, it just had to be a John Deere. Not only does it have the classic, cool look with the John Deere colors and logo, this is a very well made tricycle. It is made of high grade tubular steel and has large, off-road tires. This trike works great on a park track but it will also go where no tricycle has gone...

My daughter loves to be in whatever room I am in, and I don't mind that one bit. But, the kitchen isn't the safest place, and the way my house is set up, my kitchen isn't completely open, so, when I saw this, I hoped that it would be something she would enjoy. We put it on her Christmas list, and was thrilled when she received it. She loves it, and will sit and play with it while I cook or clean the kitchen. The main piece looks like a barn, and there are 10 magnets that come together to make 5 different animals when put together correctly, or you can make up to 25 silly animal combinations. When you make a correct pair, it sings a song about you making a match. If you make an incorrect pair, it sings a silly song about the animal you made, such as a "pigcow". There is also a button with "Farmer Tad" on it and he plays 5 different banjo tunes. My daughter loves to play those tunes over and over, too. You can buy this either in just English, as ours is, or in bilingual. — ...
