I bought the album 10 Years Together when it first came out in the 70's.

I brought it with me as well as my other albums, Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, Joni Mitchell, Melanie etc., from New York to Iowa. I have lived in Iowa since 1980.

I finally got a turntable last year. The first album I played on this new turntable was 10 Years Together. I cried. I could hardly stand it. It is still so beautiful.

Amazing harmonies, and Mary's voice so penetrating not to mention the songs they chose to perform.

It is a classic, and a very telling tale of those times. Blowing in the Wind, Bob Dylans own, still moves me. Dylans own version is also beautiful. But somehow, in harmony, those 3 conveyed what Dylan meant. It is to me the anthem of the 60's and bless Peter Paul and Mary and Bob Dylan for bringing it to our souls.

What's my favorite Christmas Album?

Let me explain....

I went through a period in my teens where I absolutely abhorred Christmas music and considered 90 percent of all Christmas music detestable schmaltz worthy of throwing up to. The Beach Boys? Bing Crosby and David Bowie doing Little Drummer Boy... are you insane?

A few years after I passed through my phase came Bruce Springsteen doing Santa Claus is Coming to Town which made me laugh out loud the first time I heard it. I mean what drugs was he on? Remember The Dead Kennedy's (punk band) Christmas classic? F. . . Christmas? Sometimes I wish THAT song would blare into the ears of those rude store parking lot drivers who ignore the rules of decency in their quest to find a half-way decent parking spot. Some will block aisles as the wait for up to five minutes for someone to unload their cart, get into the car, back up and drive away. Why? To save 50 or 100 steps?

Of course there's the driver who goes the wrong...

Lennon in My Life is a collection of interviews and Beatle press conferences mixed with several excerpts from John Lennon's last interview sessions recorded in 1980 just as the album Double Fantasy was released.

The front cover of the cd promises that the 3 CD collection contains over three hours of music and interviews. BUYER BEWARE. There is approximately 113 minutes of total material (less than two hours) on the discs combined. The sound quality varies from good to poor. Usually you can hear what is going on without problems, but sound levels and quality vary from track to track and sometimes within the track itself.

This is a CD for Lennon collectors and Beatle fanatics. For most, you might enjoy listening to 90 percent of this material ONCE and 10 percent a few times. The music on this album are Tony Sheridan tracks dating back to the very early days of the Beatles when John Paul and George were the band for lead singer Tony Sheridan. You won't hear John...

When rock band Queen enjoyed a taste of success with their top ten second LP Queen II, they were hungry for more. They were making a salary from their management of less than £50 a week after 'expenses'. They were determined to get a piece of that pie which included royalties, commissions and to actually touch the fruits of their labor. They just returned to Britain a bit early from their US tour supporting Mott the Hoople because guitarist Brian May had contracted hepatitis from a dirty needle during vaccinations. Then as he was feeling better, he developed a stomach ulcer, which hospitalized him again. He wondered if this was to be the end of the road for him with Queen. Queen went into the studio before they were due, since the tour was cut short and start recording their third LP Sheer Heart Attack.

British Rock band Queen released their second LP, creatively titled Queen II, in April 1974. Their debut album failed to make any major waves in America or even their own England. Luckily, Queen had a bit more support from their record label as far as promotion this time around. And when David Bowie was unable to fulfill his time slot on England's TV show Top of the Pops, Queen were tapped to fill in for him. When they were seen by their country promoting their newest (and only) single Seven Seas of Rhye from their Queen II album, their sales rose and they finally had a Top Ten album reaching #5 in the UK. The track featured Freddie at the piano, a rarity on their first LP, playing a fiery intro, akin to the future Bat Out of Hell title track from Meatloaf years later. British Rock band Queen's debut album was released in September of 1973 on the end cusp of the Glam Rock scene. Queen somewhat embraced the Glam Rock thing yet not to the lengths of David Bowie had done for the year before and they never sounded Glam musically. No, even on their first album, Queen, the band had a sound of their own. Their music was nowhere near as light and bouncy of T-Rex or Bowie, their sound in the beginning was much more heavy, sounding more along the lines of Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath.

Their self-titled first album hadn't garnered any real success initially despite that two singles were released from the album. Keep Yourself Alive was the first single, and it was pretty much ignored by radio on both sides of the Atlantic. It was a track heavily driven by machine gun like guitars layered upon another, and with a catchy chorus to boot. While not the best album "The black album", also known as "Metallica" has some songs that stand out of the rest. The one song that is simply amazing is Nothing else Matters. Metal fan or not you simply cannot hate this song. It is one of the best ballads of all time. And there is also Enter Sandman which is also quite popular but mostly to the metal world. So while being criticized, it still won Metallica some more fans.This album is the first album that has not been influenced by Metallicas first bassist, Cliff Burton, who died in an accident. And it is the first album that has more mellow songs which is the reason for being criticized in the first place. I recommend this album because there are songs that you'll be hooked on. One song that i forgot to mention is The Unforgiven, which is one of their best songs, even tough it's not so heavy. Other songs that are worth mentioning are : Sad but true, Wherever I may roam, The god that failed.

The Dirty Boogie CD by Brian Setzer Orchestra 1998 CD. This is a Retro Swing, Retro Rockabilly great music Cd. This is the third album with Setzer's large band, and it is fantastic. It has loads of high powered retro swing rockabilly rock energy through out the songs on the CD.

I love live albums because they bring a different twist to artist music you've heard over and over as well as a few new songs (mainly covers) and also some insight into that artist music. This album has plenty of covers (3 to be exact) two RollingStones and a Robert Palmer one. But I was a little disappointed in this album is that I only got the music. I did not get to hear Tina talk about her music. Also this disc comes with a DVD. And as I always ask myself why are songs on the DVD left off the CD?. Most people can't take the DVD on the car so they can't hear everything. Especially disappointing is the deletion of the Beatles cover from the cd. If you like Tina Turner this is a good album to get especially that for a good price (11.99 at amazon) you get two for the price of one. But its not the best live album out there. This is definatly a far cry over one of my favorite live albums Billy Joel live in Russia. But again a good find if you are a Tina Turner fan.

Fall Out Boy's cd Take this to your grave is a cd I loved. Most of the songs are great to jam out to. There are a few songs that are a little loud but hey that is just how I like it and if other people do not then that is their opinion. The cd case is nice and it folds out. There are lyrics to the songs on the inside of the case. Fall Out Boy is the bomb! This cd is just some proof. If you want something new to listen to that is not all screaming and hollering then this is a cd for you to try out and if you do not like it well give it to someone else who may... Just wait and see and maybe it might be the one for you. Or maybe for someone you know... hmmm.... It is also a cheap cd to get because it is old but to me the older the better and more worth it at the same time. I hate the new kind of rock music because they have ruined it with all the screaming and all the jazz. It just does not sound good.

One of the unexpected and exciting things that happened just after the debut of the new Fox TV series "Glee", was the songs performed on the show immediately shot to the top of th ITunes sales charts. It's easy to see why. While an album of covers by the cast of a sitcom could have easily been a karaoke CD, these performers are much too talented to let that happen.

Glee: The Music, Volume 1 features performances from the show by the cast members. And those cast member got some pipes. In case you don't know the TV show, and you should, I reviewed that earlier, that Glee. It's one of the best new shows of the season, in large part because of the excellent musical numbers performed by the cast, who include Broadway vets Lea Michele and Matthew Morrison. This first in a series of albums of music from the show is an immediate Top 10 hit on the ITunes album chart, and for good reason. This is an eclectic bunch of songs representing a lot of genres from classic rock to pop to hip...

I love this album! Sierra Hull is one of the most talented bluegrass artist's there is. Not only is she amazing on Mandolin, but she has a beautiful voice. There are a lot of great songs on here including 'Secrets', the title track, 'That's All I Can Say', 'Only My Heart', and 'From Now On'. There is also a few amazing instrumentals such as 'Hullarious', and 'smashville'. If you like bluegrass, you have to buy this cd. For her age, it is amaing. In my opinion, it is one of the best new cd's that someone has put out lately. She is one of my favorite artists in bluegrass. There is a lot of tracks on this cd to listen to. It is definitely worth the money. The songs are really catchy, and I love listening to them. If you are a fan of GOOD music, you have to buy this. I really have nothing bad to say about it. All I can really say is that if you listen to Hip Hop or Rap, I wouldn't really suggest this.

I have not always been a fan of country music btu the Dixie Chicks are a pretty awesome bunch of ladies musically speaking .

I started listening to them with the CD " FLY" and enjoyed Natalie Maines' lovely voice - she can sing a great ballad or really belt a song out when needed . She also plays a pretty good guitar.

Emily Robison is an incredible musician too - she can play 5 or six instruments with ease and finesse and her sister ,Martie Maguire , is one of the best fiddlers ever to grace a stage .

These ladies are certainly controversial and have lost a lot of fans with Natalie's( now infamous) remarks about George Bush and Texas . Many were offended and I agree that it was not the brightest comment to voice , but it should not detract from the brilliance of their music . I certainly think the death threats to Natalie were overkill - people are entitled to their opinions, although " dissing" the President , esp on foreign soil,as a very foolish thing to do and cost them a lot...

It is my belief Carrie Underwood is the best singer to graduate from American Idol. She has an almost perfect voice and the range of Celine Dion. Loves ya Kelly. Respects ya Adam. But Carrie, she da man, er, woman. She really showcases those gorgeous pipes of hers on Play On, her third and definitely most pop-leaning album yet. Shania, watch your back.

And Ms Underwood went to the studio determined to hit a massive homerun this time. She very nearly succeeds. Bringing in the the ringers, like producers Mike Elizondo and Max Martin along with writers Brett James, Tom Shapiro, and Paul Overstreet, Carrie presents us with an eclectic group of songs that sometimes feels like pandering but mostly feels like a nice variety.

Kicking things off with her already huge radio hit, Cowboy Casanova, Elizondo imparts a juiced-up dance hall flavor that sounds like an attempt to bring back line-dancing. With Underwood's booming vocals, this "warning" song is sure to have urban cowboys...

I first heard of the band Owl City when a good friend of mine sent me there song "Hello Seattle". I instantly fell in love. The song was instantly a hit with me. It was catchy, easy to sing-a-long with, and the beat and rhythm just made you want to tap your foot and put the song on repeat. Then over the next few months I heard a few more singles. I purchased the album Ocean Eyes, and listened to every song on the disc. I loved all of them. All the songs are a combination of electronica/popish music that just catches you a bit of guard, yet I am sure you'll fall in love with the sound, lyrics, and style. With the song Firefiles there are no exceptions. It is fun, exciting, catchy, and a perfect song to sing-a-long to. When I first listened to Firefiles I instantly felt like I was indeed taken to the sky like a firefly. The synthesizer sound bits at the beginning set the motion for the entire song, and entraps you until song ends. The song is a playful one that talks about real life elements...

Yesterday I went to see the Michael Jackson movie This Is It. I won't take a lot of your time to tell you how wonderful it is. Check out my review or better yet; go see it and then tell us what you think. During the movie I was introduced to some songs that he had performed but they were new to me. I enjoyed MJ's music during the 80s and early 90s. I have several MJ CDs and probably wouldn't have bought this soundtrack; except for one reason: They were releasing This Is It and Earth Song.

This evening was our monthly girls night out and before the movie we went over to Walmart to pick up a few things and kill some time. I decided to go to electronics and see if they had the soundtrack and they did. I saw a $10 and $14.88 CD. I "think" the $10 was being advertised as a Walmart exclusive. It was the songs performed in the movie and nothing more. I chose the $14.88 Souvenir Edition because not only did it include a 36-page book with photos from the movie but it also has...

I have a daily dose of Michael all the time with my "Bad" and "Greatest Hits" albums so I wondered how this would stand in comparison. "This Is It" ROCKS.
