jasyjen says "The BEST Motley Crue CD yet!" about Motley Crue - Saints of Los Angeles

I've been a fan of Motely Crue since the 80's, so when I heard they were finally coming out with a new CD I was thrilled. Also, a little worried that it wouldn't be as great as their music in the past since it's been awhile. — This CD kicks butt! It is every bit as awesome as their older music, and maybe even better. They've done a great job of keeping the old sound they're famous for, but mixing in a new sound that will most likely get them new fans. — Most of the songs on the CD are reflective of their days starting out together. When you listen to the songs, after awhile you really start to feel like you're right there with them when they were struggling to make it. The lyrics are great and each musician really comes together individually to create a great sound. — There are a dozen songs on this CD. They are: — 1.L.A.M.F. — 2.Face Down In the Dirt — 3.What's It Gonna Take —...

I heard the 'Liberty Fanfare' on a live televised broadcast in 1986 as John Williams conducted the Boston Pops in Battery Park. This was in honor of a four-night spectacular celebrating the hundredth anniversary of the Statue of Liberty. Only a teenager but a huge fan, I wrote to John Williams asking if he would release an album of his favorite themes including 'Liberty Fanfare'. I don't know if my letter had any influence, but a year later 'BY REQUEST...' was released. — — My favorite musical composer is John Williams. I was fortunate to see him live in concert on May 21, 1991 conducting the Boston Pops with special guests Tony Bennett and Michel Legrand. I also saw him perform live as the guest conductor for the Marine Band 210th anniversary concert on July 20, 2008 at the Kennedy Center. John Williams is the BEST! — — A huge fan, — Clint Dantinne —...

Katrena says "Laurie Berkner's "Buzz Buzz" is a hit with my kids" about Laurie Berkner - Buzz Buzz - Children's Sing-A-Long Music CD

Laurie Berkner has a way with kids songs! Her energy is contagious as she sings about a pig on her head, a valley of vegetables, and cleaning up, among other things. And of course, the kids can buzz buzz buzz with Oscar, Jackson and Max, the bees that are the star of her title song on the album, "Buzz Buzz." — Nope, you probably can't do yoga to this CD. Yep, you might get a little tired of hearing it five times in a row if you're on a long trip (playing time is 49:26). But the kids will love singing and dancing with the silly lyrics on the CD. Just be careful or you might end up with a stuffed animal on your head. — For those who really want to know every silly word in the songs, feel free to stop by Laurie Bernker's official website. — My Viewpoint: — Buzz Buzz is a fun, silly, lively CD that my young children enjoy. —...

Katrena says "I enjoy playing "Medicine Woman II" in my yoga classes" about MEDWYN GOODALL - Medicine Woman II

I first heard a Medicine Woman CD when taking a Bradley birth class when I was pregnant with my first child. During one session, the instructor played Medicine Woman, and I found it to be so relaxing and made a mental note to remember the name of the CD. — To be honest, I decided to write it down because I knew I'd forget. But I did keep that piece of paper for seven years. After collecting enough points on MyCokeRewards, I decided to cash in my points for a free album download on Rhapsody. — I started teaching yoga classes after having my third baby, and I wanted to try some new music for my classes. How cool to find that piece of paper and sure enough I found several Medicine Woman CDs. — Medicine Woman II begins with lots of energy as I begin leading the yoga class in breathing and warming the core temperature of the body. The music flows nicely throughout the class. It doesn't have singing, which can be a distraction to some in yoga classes. The...

Bottom-Line: In the world of Smooth Jazz album Born 2 Groove is relatively short, checking in at (10) tracks, but those tracks have been well worth the double take. Euge Groove is a Contemporary (Smooth) Jazz saxophonist with a sound and style similar to that of Richard Elliot, in fact he replaced him in the famed Jazz group Tower of Power when Elliot decided to pursue what is now a very successful solo career. Euge Groove is also known for his (Pop) session work, most notably with the Miami girl group Exposé, which he has a No. sax sole hit on their album Seasons Change, and yet another on their 1993 hit CD I'll Never Get Over You (Getting Over Me). — Having not listened to Euge Groove's other offering I have nothing to compare Born 2 Groove to; I can only tell you that the sound is somewhat fresh, soulful, and engaging. A big fan of the saxophone I have historically gravitated toward those artists. Groove is...

There are times at work when I need to make the day more interesting so I pop open iTunes and let the music flow freely. Recently, one song that played was “The Touch”. My co-worker looked at me and said, “This song is from Boogie Nights.” I looked at her and said, “Yes and no. It was played during Boogie Nights but this is the original version. Bewilderment spread across her face and she inquired, “What do you mean original version? I thought it was first played in Boogie Nights." Ah, to correct somebody is sometimes a curse. I’m used to it by now. “Believe it or not, this is not the first time the song has appeared. In fact, the first time it was heard was in 1986 in an animated feature called The Transformers: The Movie.” The silence that followed was deafening. — — While the 1986 animated feature film The Transformers: The Movie was average at best in its storyline, the soundtrack is definitely superior....

gitbean says "Le impressive!" about Guts - Le bienheureux

Being lost in boredom sometimes can produce the greatest musical finds. In this manner I have discovered artists that I otherwise would have never come across. It's times like these that you can really appreciate the beauty of a new discovery and with Le bienheureux this point is made bright and clear. If you are familiar with Nightmares On Wax then Guts is perfectly suited for your musical pleasure. With binded hip and trip hop beats, blues, down-tempo, funky tight electronic arrangements, and solid production Le bienheureux plays well and perfect for summer fun. A little over half feature vocals and none a featured better than on the song that started this ball rolling for me Skunkfunk.
