Great TV for a first time upgrade from a CRT Tube TV to an HDTV Flat Panel. Very compact comparable to a CRT TV, offers a variety of connections from a VGA Input, Standard Cable Connection, and AV Connections. With that you can connect a computer, gaming systems, and VCRs, as well as DVDs, and with the inclusion of an HDMI Port a blu-ray player. The remote control provides for easy access between different systems by switching displays. With its HDTV capablities, it allows access to more channels avaliable for free for example with a cable subscription mulitple free HD Channels not avaliable with a CRT TV because accessed with this HDTV Flat Panel. Without a remote it provides easy access to control buttons placed above the TV Screen. As well as a green/red indicator light display when its in use and powered down, and the ablity to power down the TV during the event of a possible power surge without disconnecting the power cord, just by flicking the power switch in the back.
...

rondap says "Good Value, Great TV" about Hewlett Packard - 50" Flat-Panel PL5060N Plasma HDTV

This HP PL5060N 50 inch Plasma HDTV attracted us because it was reasonably priced at $2400.00 and had all the features we were looking for.

This is a 50 inch diagonal plasma with a 1366 x 768 resolution. The contrast is 10000:1. It is a 1080i. It has 1 HDMI, 1 VGA, 2 composite video, 2 component, 2 S-Video, 1 RF 1x75 Ohm analog antenna input and 1 RS-232 serial connection input, as well as 1 x composite video output.

The audio inputs are 1 PC/DVI audio and 4 paids of left.right audio. The Outputs are 1 pair of left/right analog and 1 optical digital audio (SPDIF)

The unit comes with 2 speakers that have 2 woofers (8 watts per channel) and 1 Tweeter and Dolby Digital.

HP has equipped this tv with a sleep timer, closed-captioning, V-Chip, OSD language (English, French and Spanish) and burn-in protection.
The weight of the tv is 113.5 pounds. We opted to mount this above our fireplace. I highly recommend having your husbands friend help. We had quite a struggle with just the two......

When shopping for a television when our old sanyo went out we didnt have alot of cash and decided to try to get our best value. We didnt need a big televison so we settled on a 32". Not knowing anything about the brand Element it resembled the Emerson so we intially thought it was a knock off brand. It was a good price so we thought we would take the risk. After the easy assembly we set it up and was suprised at the clear picture and the great sound that came from the television. I am sure this was a good choice and the quality is equal to the big name brands.
...

mypointsdillard says "One word "AWESOME"" about Sony - KDS-55A3000 55 in. HDTV Television

A new adopter of this 55-inch set, I have a few caveats for those who are thinking of plunking down the dough. First, if you are not planning on going all-out digital with your television broadcasts, then forget buying this unit. Any non-digital/non-high-definition source will look totally grainy and pixilated on the screen. This is not the fault of the TV or of the manufacturer, SONY. Basically this type of TV, like all HDTVs, is meant for digital television viewing. Watching normal TV on this set is hard on my eyes because the image is sometimes fuzzy and sometimes pixilated, and I can see some artifacts and ghosting.

However, if you can get digital cable or HD satellite (DirecTV, Dish, Voom) then you're good to go. Mind you -- these companies also provide an antenna for "off-air" viewing, which means to get local HD television broadcasts, you must use an antenna (pointing in the right direction of course) to receive the signal, but this is free. In fact, if you want to skip digital cable...
...

I bought this TV earlier in 2009 and I wanted to wait awhile before i reviewed it but I absolutely have nothing but good things to say about it! It has been an awesome TV and it has always proven itself to be just as amazing as when we saw it in on the BEST BUY wall. First of all it looks tons better then my Sony 46" and all my other smaller TVS as well and I have had good luck with it working with my surround and BLU ray. The sound of it is well as well as the picture it self is better then anything else I could imagine. It costed moer then yuo can find most 32" flat screen TVs for but you can definately find it to be worth it when it is lasting longer and consistently looking better. I would suggest a wall mount for it because it tends to be a bigger tv and heavier but its definately a good buy and have had it for almost a year now with absoulutely no problems at all! Much better then my sony!
...

Basically I've had this TV for about 3 weeks already, and wanted to share since when researching this new 2009 Samsung PN50B650 set, there were limited reviews.

the specs and price on this had me at hello...

3,000,000:1 Mega Contrast
0.001ms pixel-response time.
600Hz
Cinema Smooth
4 HDMI ports
Tuners: ATSC / NTSC / QAM
ENERGY STAR qualified
Anynet
DLNA

First off I was always sketchy on Plasma...because of course burn in, and the whole LCD rage taking off.

Basically it was a "burn in" vs "dead pixel" face off.

But burn in is a non issue...sometimes the History channel will leave its logo for a few seconds, but it's not even noticeable unless you try to find it. I play PS3 games on it and it's perfect.

The 4 HDMI ports are priceless....I thought it would be overkill...but add in a TivoHD, PS3, Receiver...and I'm down to 1 side HDMI input left...

The 650 also has the extra internet USB adapter ($75) is very nice as well....connecting to Flickr, your network & Yahoo Weather is very nice....
...

How much is this laptop? Do anyone feel it is worth it? I am looking for a new laptop, and this one looks cute. I have a toshiba, and it works. I want a computer that will look cute just like me. Everyday a shepard sent his son to take their few sheep out to pasture. We cant afford to lose even one. A young mouse begged his mother to let his first look at the world outside the mouse hole. The little mouse had not been gone five minutes when he saw me she waved her long tail as if she were glad to see me. Fear is a greater motivator. Self-esteem and self-understanding are two of the most important components of your persoanl make-up! A student can be brilliant in terms of mental disabilities, but may perform at a very low capacity because of unhealthy self-esteem. If you let other people rule your life, you will always have unhealthy self-esteem. You will feel helpless and out of control as long as someone else has power over your life....

We bought the Sony Bravia 32 inch LCD HDTV several month ago when my husband (of course!) decided we needed a new TV. We didn't have the money to get a huge one, and we also knew we would be moving soon so we wanted a size that was easily portable. After looking in stores and reading up online, we selected the Sony Bravia because of the high reviews it had received and it was priced comparably to other 32 inch TVs. We have been very satisfied with it. The picture is nice and clear. It i very lightweight and easy for even me to move by myself. One of the features I like (that several of the other TVs we looked at didn't have) is that the buttons are on the top of the TV rather than the side or bottom. This is HUGE when you have a curious 3 year old in the house who loves to play with buttons, and I was so worried he would see the buttons and want to play with the TV, and posibly knock it over onto himself (we don't have it mounted on the wall. All in all, we are very pleased with our purchase...
...

I purchased this tv just about 2 years ago at sears for $699 and must say that i'm very impressed with the picture quality. I haven't had any problems with picture distortion, the picture has been great the whole time i've had it. I got a blu-ray player for christmas and with that the picture on this tv is amazing.

The only issue i've ever had with this tv is one day I turned on the tv and the picture came up for about 10 seconds then it shut back off, the red light would blink continously. Well it kept doing this and I couldn't figure out why so I called Hitachi hotline and they couldn't really tell me much so I checked on the internet and found a man who had the same problem, He took the back off and cleaned the dust out and it fixed it. So I did the same thing (which there was alot of dust in the fan) and it worked great I haven't had anymore problems with my Hitachi, I am getting ready to hook HD cable up to it.
...

My husband and i bought this television approximately four to five years ago. We paid a reasonable amount for this particular brand and in high hopes it would not be a dud! Samsung television has proven far and beyond it is not a dud but that it is a great television with great quality. We love this television and it has definately given us our moneys worth. We have never had a problem with it as far as the bulb, the color or anything, seriously! This television has a great picture and great sound even on its own. If we had to go back in time, knowing what i know now about this television we would definately still purchase this product without a doubt. I urge people to look again at this brand of television because we are extremely happy with it and have never heard of poor reviews. Samsung is an extraordinary brand name that continues to pleas emy husband and i every time we choose to watch television.
...

A tv set perfect for a smaller room and its was affordable compared to other named brands. This Panasonic viera 32 inch LCD.I didn't need a high resolution because I was not going to use it with HD, but since I'm now using it as a backup tv until my hd big screen is repaired it has a nice picture with HD.The flesh tones read a little pink but it has nice blacks and clear sharp edges. While watching sports it has great respond time the the action for smooth viewing. The best feature with this set is its an energy saver and hardly generates any heat. The set up was easily done under ten minutes. It honestly took longer to clear and clean a space for it than it took to set up this TV. This tv had one PC hooked up and tow HDMI imputs.so you can game on it if you like.Ths only miro flaw is that the speakers are not as good as I expected but thats because for now I have it in a bigger room. When this tv gets moved to the bedroom it should have no problem with the sound.

Changing the channels on this tv is frustrating. It takes forever and you have to make sure you hit the channel buttons right in front of the tv or it wont change. I really hate this. The menu font is also very small so if you mount this on a wall like we did and you have bad vision even with glasses like I do you wont e able to see the menu unless you walk up close to the tv or strain your eyes.

Adjusting the volume is also weird. The sound appears to be off or echoed. I have often wanted to return to see if our tv is defective but from reading other reviews this tv appears to be like this normally.

However, the tv looks great and the shows show up great when our antenna is working. The pictures are clears and very colorful. The pictures is much better than what we had before with our previous tv. For the price that I bought this tv, despite the sound, menu font size and the slow channel changing I think it is still worth it. Maybe.... I am not very tech savy and it is my first flat screen...
...

I purchased this Emerson 32" LC320EM82S television as in impulse buy on February 16, 2008. This television was going to be an upgrade to replace an older model televison in my bedroom that still works. I purchased it soley on looks, size, and price! I paid 558.00 dollars not including sales tax and considered that a good deal. The model playing at my local Wal-mart showed a crisp, clear picture and I liked what I saw. The tv looked great in my room and I was very pleased with it. On August 1,2009 I turned on the tv only for it to shut itself off. After numerous attempts to turn on the tv and no success, I called Emerson. I was told that sometimes you have to turn off the tv and let it set for 30 minutes so it can reset itself. I tried this and it did not work! I made several calls to Emerson and dealt with some really rude people. I can send my tv in to be repaired but it will cost me 70.00 even though the tv was only 5 1/2 months old and under warranty! This problem is very common!...
...

babygirl3171980 says "Affordable quality" about Vizio - VX37L Television

I got one of these for Christmas a couple years ago. Brother got the Sony, dad got the Panasonic, and I got this. lol. But honestly, Im not complaining. It is a great tv, and for the price. It was a deal. It may not have the clarity or sharpness of a Sony or Panasonic but it does have a good clear picture.

It can look a little pixely at times, but not too often. The HD Quality is comparable to major name brands. I use ours with an LG Blu ray player, and the picture quality is Great. This is a good buy if your looking for an HDTV but cant afford or just don't want to fork out Buko bucks. Ive seen them at Wal-Mart, Kmart, and Best buy. Mine is a thirty six inch and I think it was around six hundred dollars after everything was said and done. ...
...

gordon54838 says "endurance" about Phillips Magnavox - not sure

I bought a 13 inch phillips color tv with vcr 9 years ago. It is still working as good as the day I bought it. The color is beautiful on it. I bought the tv originally to take to remote logging camps where I worked and where tv reception wasnt available. And so relied on the vcr for watching vhs movies. Also I taped many movies and programs at home for camp use using the record function on the tv. The tapes turned out as good as the regular shows they were recorded from. This phillips tv has been on many trips with me. It has visited 7 states by vehicle. Its taken ferrt rides between islands, and many flights aboard float planes. In other words its been bumped, and jostled, and bounced around and still performs like new. Therefore the next time I shop for a tv I plan to make it a Phillips brand. Great value and performance for the buck!...

kle0686 says "Vizio big screen HDTV, 2 yrs old & still learning all it can do" about Vizio - GV42L FHDTV 10A

My husband and I bought our Vizio 42in HD LCD TV about 2 years ago around Christmas time. He did all his homework and we learned all about how 1080p was the best and if we got LCD then we could hook the computer up to it, and so on. Vizio had all that we needed and more and was also the best priced brand.

Now, after 2 years, I am still learning all of the features the TV offers. My newest discovery, it has 2 HDMI slots so we can have the HD DVD player hooked up, and the desk top computer hooked up to the TV. This has allowed us to never have to move the TV to unplug the DVD player and plug in the PC so we can watch home movies, YouTube clips, Scrapblog slideshows, and all of the other wonderful features on our PC. Not to mention, we watch those slideshows and videos in High Def on the big screen!

One of my favorite features is the detachable speakers and base. When placing the TV on a table, the speakers and base offer great quality and stability. There are even mild suction cups...
...
