donintn says "Works as advertised but poor erognomics" about Midland - WR-300 Weather Radio

This weather radio works as advertised. It's a little time consuming to set up. It works fine, but because it really isn't designed to be an alarm clock which means if you keep it in a bedroom you have to have two clocks. Seems a little silly to have a dedicated weather radio which could so easily be your alarm clock also. The time of day readout is too small to read across the room, and is not backlit unless you push a button The readout is also basically horizontal which doesn't lend itself to being a bedroom clock.

I would not buy this product again but would look for a weather radio that include alarm clock features.
...

mrgpk says "A Thousand Channel Radio Scanner with Speed and Sound." about Radio Shack - Pro-2052 Scanner

Yes a Thousand Channels is a lot and for the $300.00 You get a Good Deal. it is Fast andit has a Nice Looking Digital Display. The Sound is Loud and the Unit had got Good Sensetivity. You can Store a lot of Things to Listen to like Police, Fire, Airplanes, Ambulances, Government Frequencies, Other Law Enforcement and many other Frequencies. Certain States have different Laws concerning Scanning and what You can

Listen to. Please Check Your State Laws if you Plan to Buy a Scanner as I enoyed it

and with this Radio Shack Scanner even more as I can Listen to much more than i used

to. This Unit does tend to have the Volume Freeze up Rarely and has to be Reprogrammed

which is not what I want to do but it isn't an Impossible Task. You can Hook up the Scanner

to Your P.C. and Program it through the Software. This may Save a lot of Work as i have

not tried it Yet as the Program is in DOS Format and Very Long and Needs a Steady

Typing Hand. It has the Trunking Capability I just have to Learn how...
...

mizznatedogg says "have you ever paid $20 to hear the ocean in a sea shell?- bet" about sakar - fm wireless transmitter

yes! i so i thought . The idea of having the music stream out of my pc and through mid air into my quality sound system speaker was just what i needed to bump my tune i had save to my computers drive. just imagine no burning disks, no wave file tranfers an / or converting just $20 and the air we breath. That is a joke i tried not only on my comupter, which plays just fine on it's own, but on other people's computers as well. the only improvement i wanted was to increase the decibals without consuming various types of media- didnt happen. I could have save $20 buck and heard FREE AIR ...

BiggLarr says "Horrible Reception Without The Di-Pole Antenna" about HD Radio Boston Acoustics Receptor Radio HD

The Boston Acoustics Receptor Radio HD has a nice, compact, modern look. It produces quality sound with excellent bass response for a radio with such a small footprint. It should, however, include a built-in CD player considering the $300 price tag. The radio does include a port to plug in a CD player or MP3 player. With the smaller FM antenna supplied, I was unable to pick up many of the locally broadcast HD signals even though I live at a relatively high elevation just nine miles from downtown Pittsburgh. The di-pole antenna was able to pick up those stations very well, but the di-pole antenna itself is huge (seven feet tall and wide) and ugly and was impossible for me to hide. I had to return the radio....

Brooklyn77 says "Cool, but Probably Unnecessary" about HD Radio Boston Acoustics Receptor Radio HD

HD Radio Background: HD radio is as unnecessary as it is cool. HD radio is supposed to have better sound quality relative to non-HD radios, though I can't quite pick up the difference. HD radio's key benefit is that it provides users with MORE access to their favorite local stations. "Huh?," you may say. Well, most of your local favorites also have other stations that are only available in HD (for example, 93.1 AND 93.12, etc.). While these 'extra' HD stations may thematically align with their terrestrial brethren, these other 'only available in HD' stations do not carry advertising and are a little less 'commercial' in what they broadcast. As with all radio, HD is regulated by government and currently ads are not allowed on HD stations. In this sense, HD is a bit like satellite (although not nearly as content robust).

Boston Acoustics HD Radio: The Boston Acoustics HD radio is very nice looking. It is quite portable, although does not run on batteries. It...
...

PattyTherre says "Yes, I really DO own an orange shower radio. I'll buy anything!" about H2O - Shower Radio (orange)

First of all, can you even believe I actually own an orange shower radio from H2O Plus, a beauty and skincare website? Wow, even *I* think that is pretty nutty. But you know how it is, you surf, you shop, you see something that, at the time, seems like a really cool thing to have. Then you get it...

Quick View

The H2O Plus Shower Radio is cute and cheap. It works but it sounds a bit tinny and the volume barely goes up loud enough to hear over the sound of the shower. This is not just my opinion but that of my kids who have handily replaced my little orange shower radio with a much better model.

Full View

There isn't a heck of a lot to this little radio. There is a combo on/off and volume knob, one that you turn to tune to stations and a little slider to go from AM to FM (WHO listens to AM in the shower? Only my husband who listens to talk radio about sports and news constantly.). The speaker is in the front and the back holds the battery securely screwed in. Obviously the thing is waterproof....
...
