As a person who works in law enforcement I would like to share with you a money saving tip. When the radar detector goes off......guess what its too late you have already been detected. They don't work. It is all an illusion. The equipment officers use is highly technical and can reach for miles in some areas. Buy something you really need don't buy the Cobra-XRS 9430. —...

The Cobra XRS 9430 is a pretty good radar detector. I have not received a ticket since I bought it . The only problem I have with it, is that it seems to be too heavy for the suction platform it come with. Sometiem it falls off. Besides that I have no issues with it ...

smh25 says "The Cobra-XRS 9430 seems like a great deal for such a low price" about Cobra - XRS 9430 Radar Detector

Seems like a great deal for such a low price think of all the money you'll be saving from overprice tickets. The Cobra XRS 9430 seems to so sopisficated and small, at least it doesn't seem to take up much space or extra weight on your dashboard. I know many people are skeptical when it comes to technology but in the long run especially if you have a teenager it's a great tool to...

this radar detector has gotten me out of many tickets. i get a great distance from the detector to slow down. great for the price. if you want to know where the cops are when your speeding and don't want to get any points onto your license or pay for any tickets than this is what you're looking for. no doubt about it that this thing works. great distance, loud alerts, not many false alarms...

steve9631 says "Just plain outstanding." about Escort - Passport 8500 Radar Detector

The Escort Passport 8500 radar detector is one of the best performing radar detectors on the market today, and everyone who I know who owns one, loves it. Along with superior performance, the 8500 features a multiple contact display which can detect and alert you to a possible 8 different radar contacts at once. The 8500 features an auto sensitivity mode that automatically adjusts sensitivity levels to your driving conditions, eliminates most false alarms, and will also detect the new POP mode radar as well. This detector has the detection ability to alert you of radar contacts to the front, and to the rear. Very handy on the Interstate. What I really like about the 8500 is the distance of which it will pick up a radar contact. Miles. A much farther distance than which a radar unit will pick your vehicle up. — Radar waves in addition to being direct, bounce off of everything. Hills, signs, other...

koolam says "Value for money, but not very good" about Whistler DE-1730 Radar Detector

For a price range close to 100 $, this one seems to be a good choice. The problem is its not very sensitive like the escort. And it can not detect a radar around corners. The frequency of flase alarms for 'x' band is high. but again as I said, its far better than Cobra or any other cheap...
