joneau261 says "A camera for beginers" about Olympus - PV-GS80

I recieved this camera a few years back, and it has proven to be quite useful. It takes good photos, although it takes some getting used to for how quickly the camera works. It has the option to take video, which is also quite handy. It is compact and light, so it easily can travel around in your pocket. It also comes with a useful connection to a computer, so the photos can be easily uploaded and modifyed, or sent out to friends and family.

The few cons of this type of camera: it's slow. Many times, I have wanted to get a nice action shot. Though it can easily be counteracted and the button taken a few seconds ahead of time, it isn't really an action camera. It's more of a point and shoot camera. Also, the quality is a little low, likely something to do with megapixels.

Overall, the PV-GS80 model digital camera from Olympus is a good camera model to start with. Mainly, get some familarity with a camera before going for something big and expensive. That's all I can say
...

I have had the Kodak Easy Share DX 4530 Digital camera for about three years. It has been very reliable and gives quality pictures every time. I have taken hundreds of picture with it and it has never failed to take excellent pictures.

I bought a 1gb card for it and can take hundreds of pictures before having to download any of them. t takes just as good pictures now as it did when I first purchased it. It has a built in flash that works every time you need it. It has a timer that you can set and take a group picture and have time to get in the picture.

The camera also has a video built in to take videos. It takes better pictures tha some cameras that I have paid more for.It has a nice size view finder or you can look through the small view finder.

You can view your pictures immediately after you take them or wait until you download them. I use the rechargable batteries in so if the batteries get low you can just add some more and recharge the ones you take out.

It is a great camera ....
...

jacobhuffesq says "Zenit KM Plus is a great film camera in a digital world." about Zenit - KM Plus

I got my Zenit KM Plus from Lomography. They are a company that sells only film cameras and film camera products. They do not like digital. I figured that I never had a really good film camera so I forked over $200 for a nice one, with a lense, case, strap, colorspash flash, and 7 rolls of 35mm film. The instructions were in Russian since that is where the camera is from, but I found a translation online without much problem. The camera takes beautiful pictures. Even the ones that I took that came out blurry because I was still learning look awesome. These are things I could never do with a digital. The camera advances the film automaticly and you can hold the button down for it to take back to back pictures. It is an SLR so you can see exactly what you are shooting. It tells you if the light is good enough to take a picture and it even auto reads the film ISO. This is one nice camera and for the price, it is a steal. Keep your eyes peeled on Lomography for great add on deals like I did...
...

There is nothing like a Kodak easyshare digital camera Z712is. The Z712is is a very affordable price and awsome camera for anyone to use. YOu can use the camera anywhere anytime, because of it not being a great big camera that you can travel and take with you from day to day. That way you can get the picture of a life time, espically with the very good flash program, red eye. THe kodak digital camera Z712is has a great 12x zoom for close or far away pictures. Just remember its an easy to use camera that anyone can use. It has a very nice size picture display and alot of different setting to please anyone. The use of a memory card makes for taking of alot of pictures. Just remember to take a look at the camera and try it you'll like it. I recomend this camera the Z712is easy share digital camera from kodak.
...

Instead of hiring a professional photographer for our wedding we decided to purchase a GOOD camera and have a friend take the pictures. Best idea and best money we ever spent. This camera is not only easy to use, but w/ the lense options to purchase and the photo programs out there we have professional quality photos that we love. Plus then we had it for our honeymoon and all other activities we do. With the fast shooting, it took several pictures in seconds so we could choose which ones we liked best. Plus it works out great at sporting events, you can catch some really great shots! We had no issues with getting it loaded onto the computer. The only thing you have to do is because the pictures are so good they are quite large details. So if you are just sending them over email, etc. then you may have to shrink the size or quality of the picture to send it over. But there are a ton of great, free, programs to store photos on the web that take care of all that for you! Highly recommend,...
...

The Kodak - Kodak Easy Share M753 digital camera is great for beginners as well as an experienced digital camera owners due to it's multi-function picture taking option capabilities. What I mean by that is there are over 10 different modes in which you can take your pictures acorrding to what action or event you are photographing which is really great in enhancing the expected images and getting the real shot you want. Examples are: nighttime shots, bright daylight shots such as at the beach, landscapes, up-close, portrait and my favorite, sports (for moving images, which is also fantastic if you have a shakey hand). My only real complaint is that yes do need a steady hand for most of these picture options but that is not something the adverage person will have trouble pulling off. It is a light camera and comes with a photo editing and storing programs, but in the long haul, I would suggest not using the Kodak software as it acts only as a shell and does not acctually rename or...
...

Only when Kodak stopped making my favorite 35mm film did I venture into the digital age and purchase this Kodak easy Share camera. While the instructions were simple, I was timid and uncertain about my ability to decipher the various buttons and menu items, and even more skeptical that the images I most wanted to preserve would actually be captured on the tiny card that came with my camera. Surprise! This camera is almost as easy as point and click. THe zoom feature gave me beautiful close-ups as well as stunning panoramic views. I was able to get wonderful detail from a reasonable distance, a task impossible on my previous cartridge-loading cameras. I really like the features that allow me to review photos and delete those I chose not to keep. It's nice to have immediate feedback, too, so that I can retake a picture if my intended target moved, changed, etc.

We love our Canon products! We have had tons of Canon cameras, printers and scanners. We had the previous version of this camera and when the Powershot SD 1000 we bought one for us, one for my mom and one for my father in law. I like that it has the video camera option and it is easy to switch back and forth. I thin the buttons and function in the menu are easy to figure out even if you don't have the manual on hand and of course we never do. I also like that since we have had Canon cameras for years the menus and settings stay pretty much standard to you get used to using it and don't have to relearn all of it every time you upgrade! I also like the fact that they have point a shoot settings that we can set it to and leave it on when our kids use it. I have found that it is very durable and with 4 kids that is always important! I am also never worried to carry it around since it is small and durable!
...

Panasonic Lumix DMC-F27, is the best camera that I have ever had. I have had it for years now and I am not sure how much I paid when I bought it, but I remember it was like 3 or 4 hundred dollars. So a little pricey but worth it. All the pictures I take are such great quality, many look like they were professionally taken. The flash is really bright too, I have used it in our backyard at night and majority of the pictures still turn out great. This camera has alot of settings that honestly I do not understand, but if you are one of those people who like to play around with cameras then you will have alot to choose from. I just put it on the easy setting and snap and click, so if you want it for that and great pictures it would be good for you too. As long as I have had it I think that shows the quality. I have had digital cameras before but like this one. Usually most digital cameras dont work as well after a year or two, or something new and better comes along. Since...
...

This Kodak Easy Share DX6340 has come in handy when selling my items on Ebay. It was given to me as a present a couple of years ago and has been nothing but fantastic ever since. I have used this camera so many times throughtout the few years that I have owned it and it has been dropped, kicked and stepped on yet it still continues to carry on. Though it does not have very high mega pixels it still takes very clear and bueatiful pictures. I really appreciate how easy this Kodak camera is to use. I am not very technically inclined, but I learned easily how to work this camera. I was able in a very short time to learn how to not only take excellent pictures but download the pictures onto my computor. Another aspect to this camera that I really enjoy is the handy little stand that connects directly to your computor. This is not only very convienent but it looks nice to. When I decide that I want to get another camera I would definitely consider another Kodak.
...

We have a big digital camera that has a better zoom, but I was looking for a little camera that I could use for every day yet just slip into my pocketbook. I wanted more control than I felt I had with my camera phone. I didn't want to spend a lot of money either.

I settled on a Vivitar ViviCam 8225. It wasn't the most expensive of the small cameras, but it wasn't a cheap little unheard-of brand either. It was on sale at the store I shopped (always a plus), and it came in a cute purple color (another plus).

The features included everything I was looking for, plus some I didn't think of but am glad I got. It has a 8X Digital Zoom, Anti Shake (which I definitely require in a hand-size camera), High Definition, Red Eye Reduction, a Self Timer, Face Detection, and includes a rechargeable Lithium battery, AC charger, and strap.

In addition, the ViviCam 8225 comes with the Vivitar Experience Software. I am very pleased with the pictures - definitely better than the camera phone!
...

The Konica Minolta Maxxum 5d is a great auto-focus SLR camera for those who are amateurs who just shoot photos occasionally but want the ability to manipulate the controls to the professional who needs full control of the controls. My amateur photography career began with a SLR manual focus Minolta in the 80s and I fell in love with the camera at that time. I consider myself to be a amateur professional, taking event photos for a few local non-profit groups so that have promotional materials for their event the following year. The Maxxum 5 lets you shoot in auto pilot, the camera making all the necessary adjustments to the controls or the camera lets you have full control for those special effects that sets your photography apart from others. There are many accessories to choose from that make photos come to life. Although Minolta has been purchased by Sony, parts and accessories are still available through larger catalog companies. I would suggest you go ahead and purchase an extra...
...

This camera is a wonderful thing. I love the zoom function. This camera takes very nice digital photos. It's got a fast shutter speed for those kid's actions shots. Its also is simple to use. If you have any basic camera knowledge you wont even need to read the manual. This camera also has many settings such as: portrait, landscape, flower, sunset, backlight, candle lit, children, museum, text, beach, snow, fireworks, night portrait, night landscape and sports mode. This camera is a great camera for a beginner. My mother (technically challenged) loves to use my camera. I do recommend rechargeable batteries but the Kodak c160 is very good on batteries. That's one of my favorite things about this camera, batteries. No charger to worry about, no chance of running out of battery charge when your at a critical moment. This cameras only con is that sometimes if its too warm or too cold the camera may "freeze". If you turn it off and back on its fine though. This camera is also something...
...

I love this camera and have been using it for quite some time. It has great abilities to capture the perfect photos. I use it for everything from weddings to crazy photos of my cats. The camera is very user friendly and has a nice variety of settings that would allow you to take night shots without flash, bulb setting for lightning shots, portrait for people or pet photos. I would recommend this camera to anyone and everyone. This camera uses all Pentax interchangeable lenses and any T mount adapter. It's flash covers a great distance compared to other cameras. The body is light weight and easy to carry around in your hands or via a strap. The LCD screen size is 1.5 inches and displays a crisp image of the photo after it has been written to the disc. If the camera is left on for 5 minutes, it automatically goes into hybernation so it saves on the batteries. If you are trying to take a photo in a dark place, the camera emits a green light that allows the lens to focus on the subject faster....
...

I think that this camera would please the average consumer, and most likely others as well. The Camera has an extremely good battery life, and is very fast. Perfect for taking quick snapshots. Face detection and image stabilization make your pictures turn out better; and features work well. There are many automatic and manual settings to satisfy most people.

Definitely this camera is not for people looking to buy a high end camera. The limited zoom and lack of pro features (such as an electronic viewfinder, more manual settings and a further reaching flash) would prevent taking truly professional photos in some cases.

For myself, I have found this camera to be the best one I have ever owned. I have taken it on vacation a few times this summer and have been very thrilled with how I can switch to different modes quickly to take the best possible photos. The battery life is also amazing.
alliep56 says "The photosmart M447 camera is the best one I have ever used" about HP - Photosmart M447

The Photosmart M447 digital camera is the best one I have ever used. I have tried several different brands but this one is the best. It has a zoom lens that comes out when turned on. It is much easier to turn the flash on or off and easier to delete unwanted photos from it. You also don't have to have a special battery for it. Two double A's are all you need. It is also easier to return to the main menu when changing the settings on your camera as there is a back button underneath the menu button. It takes exceptionally good pictures too. Mine also came bundled with a small compact photo printer. I would recommend this camera to anyone buying one for the first time. It is so easy to use.I will also record video. It is very easy to access and view any pictures that you have already taken. You can zoom with the touch of a button or view thumbnails. There is a nice sized screen in which to view your picture before you take it.
...

qlucy3 says "great camera for a beginner!" about Canon - PowerShotA460

This camera (Canon PowerShot A460) is a great camera for beginners! It is extremely easy to use and not confusing in the least! I am looking to upgrade soon, but this camera has lasted me about two years. It was my first camera and I still love it. There is a 4x digital zoom, a user friendly menu and the buttons are simple. There is a medium size view screen and the zoom works pretty well. If you're looking for an amazing zoom feature, this camera may not be for you... but If you're an average camera user that is looking for a simple, easy-to-use and durable camera, you should definitely try the Canon PowerShot A460. It takes 2 double AA batteries and is easy to hook up to the computer to transfer files. I use an online photo service, so I upload the photos onto my computer, put them online and then have them shipped to me! It's so easy and the uploading process for this camera is so simple! If you're looking for your first camera, this is the perfect one! If you're...
...

Got this camera 2 years ago and use it on a fairly regular basis since. It's a great camera and I've never had problems with it. It is small and light so it is easy to hold with one hand. Has a lot of useful features/settings so you can have different size/quality pictures. Settings are really intuitive so you don't even have to read the manual to be able to use it. Having said this, it is always a good idea to read the manual. This camera came with 2 manuals brief and full. I found the brief version to be the most useful. Unfortunately, I lost it pretty soon after buying the camera so I am stuck with full version. And this full version is surprisingly not helpful. But this is the only con I can think of.

My previous camera was using standard batteries so I was delighted to discover that this camera uses its own battery which comes with a special charger. But this battery was made for the camera so if something happens with a battery it will probably be pricy to replace it.

Overall I really...
...
