SidneyAlanna says "Terrible, A Waste of Money---Do NOT Buy!!!" about Element Electronics - GC-1020

I picked out this mp4 as a early Christmas present, had it on layaway for 2 weeks, only for it to suck. Why?

FIRST OF ALL: The manual is retarded. They mispelled words, and can't even use spaces or commas the right way. It looked like a 5th grader typed it, and printed it out on the computer. And the type was SUPER small. Dipwits.

SECONDLY: The mp4 didn't respond to my touch. It was the most difficult thing to get to the Settings menu. It frustrated me so much, I wanted to set fire to it.

THIRDLY: They give you cheap, ugly earphones. Dipwits.

FOURTHLY: To download music to the mp4, you have to convert them to some stupid file, by downloading this CD they gave you to the computer. The CD was a dud. It didn't even work!!!

Don't be fooled by the nice big screen with touchscreen buttons!

DO NOT BUY. WASTE OF $60.
...

flubber says "Music to my ears" about Samsung - YP-U3J QLY MP3 Player

I love using my samsung mp3 player. I am an exercise entusiast, triathlete, and spinning instructor. Having music to exercise to is very important for me. It is also very important for me to have music to play for my spinning class.

I exercise or train 5 times a week readying myself for my spin class and upcoming races. I love to exercise to music and when I go to the gym it is even better to have a compact system to carry with me. I use to have a walkman that played tapes. It was four times the size of my mp3 and I needed to clunk around the appropriate tapes for my class or just for exercise. I am thankful for this lightweight, small music device to carry around. My bag of workout equiptment is alot easier to carry around.

My class appreciates the music quality I now have with this mp3 player. It is a world of difference compared to tapes. The tapes get so worn out that the sound gets muffled. They love the new sound, even if they do not love all the music I play.

I also play my mp3 player...
...

vova says "cool is cool" about SanDisk - Sandisk Sansa 4g clip

Flash memory and device manufacturer SanDisk clearly has a thorough understanding of the saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." We sure are pleased about that, because when the company decided to update its extremely popular Sansa Clip, it could have mangled a perfectly peachy player. Luckily, SanDisk knew a good thing when it saw one and created the Sansa Clip+, a fantastic follow-up that builds upon the great foundation of its predecessor. The player continues to offer an ultracompact design complemented by useful features and solid sound quality--and all at an unbeatable price. The Clip+ is available in 2GB, 4GB, and 8GB options for $39.99, $49.99, and $69.99, respectively....

vova says "cool is cool" about Zune - zune hd

The set of features packed into the Zune HD are unapologetically focused on media playback and entertainment. On the main menu you'll find options for music, videos, pictures, radio, Marketplace (Microsoft's music download portal), and Internet. Some features, such as podcasts, audio books, and applications, are given main menu categories once there's content to justify it.

Music tops the Zune HD's main menu for good reason. More than anything else, the Zune HD is a portable music machine designed for curious fans with large appetites for new music. The audio player supports MP3, AAC, WMA, and WMA Lossless formats, as well as audio book files from Audible or OverDrive. Like most MP3 players, the music you sync the Zune HD with can be quickly sorted by artist, album, song, genre, and playlist, but the Zune HD's unique strengths as a music player are revealed once you dig down to a particular artist or song. For example, when you select an artist to play, you'll get a list of their albums...
...

Punkrock666 says "Decent mp3 player from a low-end brand" about Coby - ?

I actually got my Coby MP600 4G by using my stored up 'My Coke Rewards' points so I can't review this based on price. What I can tell you is that it doesn't record video, and although it has a video screen (2"x2"?) the image quality isn't great (it's barely decent, actually). The cool thing is it holds 4 gigs in its tiny frame, is easy to operate (once you know what the buttons do - you have to read the manual, because they're not labeled), and uploads songs pretty quick. The sound quality was better than expected and the headphones that came with it were decent also. If you just want an entry-level mp3 player this would be a good start. One warning - I read all (and I mean ALL) the paperwork on this player, and the manual indicates in fine print that 'the cables that come with the device may contain lead - wash hands after handling'). I don't know what the heck that's all about, if it's imported from China or what, and I've never read the manuals for other mp3 players to know...
...

vova says "cool is cool" about SanDisk - sansa c200

I just got a c240 and while it seems to be a good basic player with several nice features, it has several drawbacks.

1. Only chargeable through proprietary USB connection. I understand why they have given it the proprietary connection, so they can produce customized accessories for it (like iPod), and I think that is a great idea. But they still should have given it a standard mini-USB connection as well, like their m200 series. If you lose their proprietary cable and haven't bought (and been willing to carry around) extra accessories, your player will become unusable, whereas it is fairly easy to find a standard mini-USB cable in a pinch.

2. While charging, the player firmware does not allow the use of the player except to transfer files from the computer. This is a really annoying problem that the e200 series also had, but which I hear Sandisk has fixed in the latest firmware for the e200. I certainly hope they will also fix it for the c200 series. Either that, or go back to using
a...

...

I paid $19.95 for this little mp3 player. I holds 512 megabytes which is enough for me. It has a lighted face with colors to choose from such as red gold , blue , --it also displays the name of the mpp3 playing. This hooks up to a usb port to transfer songs from your computer onto it, it also comes with headphones or earbuds for you to listen with. It runs on one double a battery that lasts quite a while. I use mine often and I like it that it is small and easy to carry in my pocket or purse even. I don't have alot of extra money to spend on expenisve ipods so this coby version works fine fo rme. I think itsa great price and I would definitely reccomend it to others to buy. I have had it over a year and it still works great! It has fast forward and backwards features as well --making finding your favorite mp3 easy. The headphones are great too, and if anything should happen to them, you can use any earbuds with this player.
...

I love this. I have the 32G and its a monster. I've had it for two years now and I still have space. I love the internet feature called safari. I came actually go online and check my emails. The coolest thing is that I can send emails. I have downloaded movies, videos and music. The screen is large enough to look at movies comfortibly. I love being able to see the album covers. You can search your music by album, artist, genre or songs. You can also use it to entertain. They sell docking stations to listen to music. Cons:The earbugs that come with it are horrible so you will need to replace those. Also, you can not access music, videos or movies from another computer. The itouch and most apple products can only be connected to one system at a time. Meaning, if you want music from your friends computer so can forget about it. Or, if your computer crashes you will lose all your music from itunes.
...

This MP3 Player I bought for a very reasonable price has proven to me the best bang for my buck. It is a small, compact, and portable item for me to carry anywhere. I had it for almost a year and there been no technical problems. This brand of MP3 player is very durable and has a lot of nifty features not found in other MP3 Players. First, the back screen lights up with almost a neon like blue. This is very helpful if you are in a dark place where one cannot see as clear in the light. The entire screen is digitized. This means all the controls from what song is playing to how minutes are left in the song is visible on the tiny MP3 Player screen. I really like this feature because it gives me all the information about what song and album is playing on my MP3 Player. There is a FM Transmitter which gets a fairly decent amount of radio stations with sufficient amount of memory to hold a few songs. If you searching for an MP3 Player which can hold a gazillion number of songs. Then, this...
...

This Sony mp3 player definitely was a fairly inexpensive and easy to use mp3 player, until it continually began freezing up and then eventually stopped working after only about two years. I did use the player everyday, so I got lots of use out of it, but unfortunately the quality of this player is lacking in my opinion. For those looking to buy it, it is great in terms of providing storage for lots of songs and it has numerous functions which allow easy uploading, continuous playtime, and lots of room for songs to be stored on the device. I do not know if the freezing issues had anything to with the fact that I used it for running and the device became sweaty from me holding it in my hand. Since I had the player for over a year, it was no longer under warranty, so it really left me with no other option than to get rid of the player and replace it with a new one. I have never had problems with the sony brand before, but I now use a sansa clip, and it is great!
...

Music plays an important part in my life. I grew up in the 60's so we didn't listen to the same music our parents did but that didn't stop them from playing it every weekend. My father was a big Patsy Cline fan, country was his music of choice, Mom was into Polish music (I still don't understand the language but I know the songs) and then my grandmother made us listen to Mitch Miller and Liberace. I would have done anything for a device like the iPod! As the years move on and technology has given us all sorts of options, I find the iPod one of the easiest and one of the hardest to figure out. I have gotten the knack of putting my music on it and thanks to my family, the songs range from country to pop to new wave, and rock . From the 1940's to the present but no Polish or Mitch Miller!

You can download music, videos, photos, or podcasts. Make a playlist or let the iPod shuffle your songs.

This mp3 player has met and exceeded all of my expectations! I was able to purchase this item on sale, which made it a very cost effective purchase for what my needs are. This mp3 player can do it all, as you are able to upload music from your computer to the player, listen to FM radio, and also utilize the voice recording function, which is surprisingly clear for the device being used. I generally charge my player when I have my computer turned on, but I have actually never ran out of battery life on this player, even after recording lectures in a classroom all day long. It comes with a USB cable that allows for easy uploading of music as well as havin a dual purpose as a charger, which is a nice change from having to buy several triple AAA batteries all the time to listen to music! The device is perfectly sized for someone who does not want a bulky music player to carry around and even has a clip that can be placed on a waistband for hands free option.
...

My husband had gotten into running last year, and for Christmas expressed that he wanted an mp3 player. I did a LOT of research, read reviews online and spoke with friends who had various different players. I considered the ipods but when I found out that if you have an ipod/itunes on your computer ... you can't use any other mp3 players with that computer anymore. That wouldn't have been a big deal except that we have two boys who also LOVE to listen to music and I wasn't going to invest into an ipod for them while they are in elementary school.

The Sansa e260 is SO very easy to use, it offers wonderful features including not only mp3s but viewing photos, watching short video clips, listening to the radio (and has great reception even inside an office building). The unit has a lot of accessories available (arm bands, covers and the like) so you aren't limited at all in how you want to use it, and it is VERY easy to connect to the computer and sync.

The Sansa 1 Gb mp3 player is a great little player without all the bells and whistles. The player is very small at only 3" long and 1" wide. It has a small screen to view options which are : play music, Fm radio, Recorder, settings, information, artists, album, playlist, equalizer, power, play all. The screen lights up in blue when the menu button is pushed so you can read it in the dark. There are stop, forward, reverse butoons as well. It takes a AAA battery which last a surprisingly long time with normal use . The mp3 player plugs in usb port easily and is easy to put music onto the player. There is also a headphone jack for headphones and this player gets descent sound as well. If you are looking for a player to take with you that will fit in your pocket or purse, that you do not want to worry about, this is the one to get. It is also kid friendly. My son has dropped this several times and it is very durable. He has had it for a year and there are no scratches, dents, or anything on...
...

I just got my Apple IPod Touch 32 gb for my birthday that just past in September from my wonderful husband. He got it for only $16 but that is a whole other story for another time.

I got it and I really love it and can't imagine my life with out. The abilities are amazing. The only thing I don't like is the fact that I can't be on the internet anywhere that doesn't have a Wi-fi connection. I guess I need to look into paying for a connection so that I can use it at all times.

The really cool thing about the Ipod Touch is you can use it for just about anything the only thing it's missing from the phone is the phone and the camera. It has everything else including Bluetooth.

There are so many applications out there that you can use to make the Ipod Touch unique to you and make things easier for you to use. There is Facebook, Twitter, Google, tons of your favorite stores, movie programs, networking sites, GPS stuff and so many games and other things you can use.

The first word that came out of my mouth when I listened to a track on this MP3 / Video player was WOW! The sound quality that this tiny little device generates is just amazing. When it comes to MP3 players, I'm VERY picky. I look for a device that gives me rich, crystal clear, high quality sound... with BASS! And this Walkman delivers it. That's not to say that other brands don't deliver high-quality crystal clear sound, but at the same time, not all brands deliver it with outstanding bass and balance. At least, not for this price range.

The equalizer on this Sony Walkman is just perfect, as far as I'm concerned. When you crank up the bass level, you get exactly that - thick, solid bass, without distorting the earphones or affecting the treble. You can either select the presents that are pre-loaded in this device, or customize the frequency levels until you reach your desired sound.

At 4GB, this Walkman can hold approximately 900 songs if they are at 128 kbps in MP3 format. But personally,...
...

The iPod Touch comes in 3 models: 8GB, 32GB, and 64GB. The smallest of the three starts at $199 and is considered a 2nd generation, where as the the 32 and the 64GB models are 3rd generation models and are $299 and $399 respectively. The difference between the 2nd and 3rd generations is in the internals, they have faster, more powerful processors that support Open GL, this is must for gamers. Apart from that the iPod line is pretty much similar. They all can operate under the newest operating system (3.12 as of this review). It has all the functions that you have grown to love about the iPod with the addition of endless possibilities with wifi support and an app market place with over 100,000 applications. Built-in bluetooth technology allows ipod touch users to connect to each other for gaming, exchanging contacts and whatever the development market has thought up in application in the iTunes App store.

You interact with the iPod Touch via the capacitive touchscreen and supports Apples...
...

kimmyluvscoffee says "Great FIRST MP3 Player for Young and Old" about SanDisk - Sansa m240 (1 GB) MP3 Player

This is an excellent choice for anyone still wanting to make the jump from Vinyl Records and CDs to their very FIRST MP3 player.

I owned this littlte item and upgraded to a 4GB MP3 player after...

I would highly reccomend anyone to buy a Sandisk brand MP3 Player, 1GB or at least 2GB when you're new to the MP3 game.

You don't have to spend over 100 Dollars for an IPOD simply for the APPLE BRAND

You can buy a Sandisk MP3 player and save money and use the left over money for other things..

The Sandisk MP3 player is very very very easy to use, you don't even have to read the Manual that comes with the box. Just plug it in, charge and download music.

tricia5257 says "This is a good MP3 player." about other - Zenex on the move MP5115-2 MP3 player

The Zenex on the Move MP5115-2 MP3 player is a pretty good buy for the money. It is a 2GB player with other features. It has not only the music option but also a movie, record, voice, fm-radio,photo,e-book and set-up options as well. I mostly listen to the radio as I drive because my radio in the car does not work. It has great reception. It also has a built-in speaker so it can be used without the ear phone. It holds a charge for about six to eight hours and is easy to chrge on the computer with a USB cable. Charging takes about 2 hours. It is very lightweight and fits easily into a pocket. I do not use a cover and have never had a problem with not using one. It holds many songs and it is easy to add more. I use Sony earphones and the sound is great. The system is also expandable if you want to add more gigabytes of memory. All in all I would say the Zenex on the Move MP5115-2 MP3 player was a fine investment.
...

victoria1984 says "Basic player" about Creative Zen - Creative Zen Nano Plus 256 MB

Creative Zen Nano Plus 256 MB is a pretty good player. It eats battaries like crazy though.I have to change them every 2-3 days. It has a lot of good features like FM radio and FM record where you can record any song from radio station live. It holds a couple of albums. It is about 24-25 songs depending on the song. The sound is very good. It is loud enough to hear only to what you are listening to when you are in the crowded place, airplane or at the gym. It's small and can fit anywhere. I put in my pocket. It came with a USB cord so you can transfer songs from your computer directly to the player. It support only English Language though. If you have songs with names in different languages it will show as just random charachters in your player or will not show at all.

Disadvantages are: it is very sensitive. you can't drop it too many times. I dropped it once and the battery cover fell off and broke. Navigation is pretty weird with a little scroll and it takes time getting used to it....
...
