Josh1983 says "It is a good cd player" about Sony - CFD-ZW755 CD-Radio Cassette-Corder

This is a pretty good cd player. It's not too big, not too small. It has a radio Tuner and two cassette decks for playing cassettes or recording. It has a sound mode butten where you can adjust the sound settings to match rock, pop, vocal, jazz, or off. It has a display for the clock time, a timer, and a sleep timer to turn the music off in a certain amount of time. It has a "MEGA BASS" button to boost the bass while listening to music.

The only problem that I have ever had with this Cd player is that the round metal peice that fits in the center of the cd is sometimes pushed out of place and has to be adjusted by being pulled up or pushed down to the approiate distence so that the cd player would recognize the CD is there and can read it otherwise there is a disk read error. It does get annoying sometimes when you want to listen to music immidiately and have to stop and adjust it. The first time it happend I thought the cd player was broken and wouldn't play any more, but than I just...
...

LisaCarey says "Play a little music do a little dance have fun with the kids " about RCA - 300-Watt Compact Stereo with iPod Dock

We were looking for a nice mini home stereo system to fit a small space in our family room. We wanted to be able to play the radio, several CD's at a time (I like variety) as well as have the option of headphones. A remote was optional, but not essential. Our choice the RCA 300-Watt Compact Stereo with iPod Dock.

What does the RCA 300-Watt Compact Stereo with iPod Dock have to offer?

300 watts total system power

iPod Dock

5-CD

Digital AM/FM tuner

Audio Line In for connection to your MP3 player

Compatible formats: DVD, DVD/R/RW/JPEG/CD/CD-R/RW

Tuner Type Digital Tuner

Tuner Presets 32

Amplifier / Speakers

Speaker Bands 2 Way

Woofer Size 5.25 in.

This mini stereo system fits the bill for us. It is very easy to use and takes up very little space. Within minutes my husband had it out of the box and up and running, even the remote was programmed. It is heavy enough I don't have to worry about the children knocking it down or doing to much damage to it. I...
...

tiggrboy66 says "Best CD transport under $5000" about Parasound - C/BD - 2000 Ultra

Made by C.E.C. in Japan to the highest standards possible for its price range the Parasound C/BD - 2000 Ultra is almost as good as C.E.C.'s entry level transport which retailed for $7500. The C/BD-2000Ultra was a Stereophile Class A recommended product for its entire retail lifespan. If you thought CD's couldn't sound as smooth and detailed as vinyl you owe it to yourself to listen to the C/BD-2000 paired with any high-end DAC or even better with Parasound's matching D/AC - 2000 Ultra. The manufacturing quality is superior as usual for a Parasound product and it looks and feels both expensive and substantial. I highly recommend all of the Parasound 2000 series to anyone looking to achieve audio Nirvana on a budget. Definitely worth every penny of its $1550 MSRP and you can find good condition used ones for around $700. This unit is rack mountable and heavy, it is also a top loading unit so you need to have some space for it.
...

matilda111 says "wonderful, crisp, clear sound!!" about Sony - CDP-CD375 CD Player

When my Toshiba Cd player bit the dust I thought that I could get it easily fixed. I was so wrong. To peplace the "beam" in my Toshiba would cost more than it would cost me to buy a new CD player. My brother said that that was the way that they were built today. Throwaways! I did my homework and found that Circuit City had just what I needed and at a lower price than their competitors. Ordered online, picked up at the store and no shipping cost. Low cost extended warranty. I'm very happy and all is good! Nancy Peck...

MattA75 says "If it Can Survive My Cat, It Can Survive Anything" about Sharp - XL-MP130 Five Disc CD Changer

In the fall of 2005, I finally decided that my old shelf stereo system would need to go. It was struggling to read CDs, making my music listening nearly impossible unless I wanted to listen on my at the time very old computer. For someone as into music as I am, this was completely and utterly not going to work.

I started looking around at prices. I had decided I wanted a five disc changer, just to avoid having to put in and take out discs repeatedly. However, I was on something of a tight budget, so I didn't want anything too ridiculously priced. I was perusing the selection at Circuit City when the XL-MP 130 Five Disc Changer by Sharp caught my eye. At $150, it was right in my price range. I did a bit more research on it, found that most people who bought it loved it, so I went back and grabbed one.

Two years later, I've gotten a good amount of use out of it. The sound is crisp, even when the volume is being blasted. There's no static feedback from it being too loud. ...
...

BillSanJose says "Low priced, but disc changer sometimes can't read the CD" about Sony - CDP-CD375 CD Player

Not a lot of CD player reviews here. This was fairly cheap, and works mostly OK. It's a 5 CD changer. The only problem is that sometimes it won't play a perfectly good CD. Opening and closing the tray fixes that.

Otherwise, I think all CD players send essentially the same signal to the receiver, so sound quality shouldn't be an issue. I remember terms like 8x oversampling in the 1990s, but I figured that was important only for scratched CDs. I'm not a huge audiophile in that the music fidelity doesn't have to be perfect for me, but I do love music and want something that works. And this one usually does.
...

Saxguy says "The CD mechanism locked up making it useless" about RCA - RS 2664 CD Player

I had seen this system at Best Buy and bought it when another model, a Sharp ES240 failed.

I was looking for good, loud sound and a reliable mechanism so I could put at least 3 different CDs in it, the ones I use most frequently for play alongs with my students. This was rated at 300 watts and had a 5-cd mechanism.

The sound was fairly good, particularly with the mega bass and surround sound adjustment. However, it seemed no more powerful that the Sharp unit which was rated at 180 watts and less powerful than the unit I replaced it with, an LG shelf system rated at 160 watts.

It was also a little too large for the space, so I had one of the speakers on the floor.

From the start, I had problems with CDs skipping, which would get better with cleaning, but still much more than with the Sony Boom Box I had used for years.Worse, the CD mechanism locked up and I had to turn the power off and shake the unit to get the CD in there out.

So, I cruised the DJ supply sites to see what the pros were...
...
