djankiew says "Great product" about Plantronics Discovery 925 BT IQ Black Carrying Case, Battery

This is a great headset. The only setback I would say is that the earpiece loses it's ability to stick in your ear after a few weeks of use. Even if you wash it, it just doesn't stick.

I read a recommendation to attach a motorola ear piece attachment to help it stay in, and I did just that and it worked great! If you need to know what that part number is I could probably find it for you.

It's lightweight, good sound, easy to use and the case that doubles as a charger is absolutely FANTASTIC.

Overall I'd recommend this product and this is after trying several other manufacturers earpieces. I love plantronics so much I just bought the new Plantronics Pro. That will be my next review. ;)
...

europegirl says "I love it!" about Garmin - Nuvi265

I just bought this gadget not too long ago, and I love it. I love all the new features like: Using Garmin's unique Web site I can choose from millions of geo-located photos provided by Google's Panoramio photo sharing community and download them to the nüvi for a richer navigation experience using pictures as a guide.

3D Terrain Maps - Shaded relief terrain maps show you when to expect hills, mountains, forests and other natural features. Topographic terrain maps are viewable when using the 2D "birds-eye" view.
One of the features I like the most is that it has preloaded Europ-Maps, so i can use it when I travel overseas.

Navigation is just the beginning. The nüvi 2x5 models features travel tools including a JPEG picture viewer, world travel clock with time zones, currency converter, measurement converter, calculator and more.

It comes with detailed NAVTEQ maps containing more than 6 million pre-loaded point of interest locationsI. t also has a battery life of up to 4 hours.
...

dfly22000 says "Sometimes I even get lost with a GPS!" about Garmin - Navi200

I've used the Garmin Navi200 for about two years now. I am amazed that sometimes I still get lost, even with the Garmin. I think the maps are good and the highlighted route is relatively easy to follow, but I still have problems with this GPS. Sometimes I feel it is taking me the most roundabout route, rather than just staying on the major highway. Also, sometimes the written instructions don't update fast enough, so I end up missing a turn. I find that if I just keep my eye on the map/route, I can usually figure it out, but it is distracting when you are trying to drive. The spoken directions are usually accurate, but it is difficult to listen to if you have someone else in the car and are trying to carry on a conversation. It's fine if you are just driving by yourself. The Garmin often takes a long time to find the satellites, which leaves you just sitting in your driveway or in a parking lot until the maps are downloaded. Overall, it's useful in finding a new location,...
...

I first purchased the Garmin Nuvi 200 when my husband and I were going on an out of state road trip. We did not know the area in which we were traveling to at all and thought that it would be a great way to find our way around the area. The GPS device got us to our destination without any trouble. When we arrived there, I thought all of the features that it offered would be very helpful. It has the ability to locate points of interest nearby your location and give you direction on how t get there. This was great because we did not have anyone to show us around the area. But when we chose a restaurant to go to for dinner on our first night there, the GPS took us to a construction site. This was when I first realized that these devices have their flaws. It did find many other locations successfully, but not all of them. I thought the Garmin Nuvi 200 was a neat device, but I still wouldn't leave the house without a map; just in case.
...

starlasue109 says "With TomTom they don't call me 'Wrongway Sue' anymore!" about TomTom - One 3rd Edition

All my life I have gotten turned around and lost so many times it became a running joke. In January I got a TomTom One 3rd edition GPS device and I love it. My son's family lives in the Washington DC area and when I visit, I can navigate around the entire area with confidence now.

What I really enjoy is that I do not have to try driving looking at written directions. I can pay attention to traffic. I can glance at the TomTom and know what is coming up next. I have it set to alert me when turns or changes are coming. It announces the street name or upcoming route change 2 miles before, then again at 1/4 mile, and then at 500 feet. It is so nice to have a navigator!

Another feature I like is that you can have it alert you if you are speeding. I am notorious for being a lead foot and I have not received a speeding ticket since I began driving back in 1973, I'd really like to keep it that way. TomTom certainly had helped me with keeping the speed down. Saves gas too.

I purchased the Tom Tom ONe because I needed a GPS system as I am always getting lost and after browsing for about a week it seemed the most user friendly. The first few months I had the Tom Tom , I was absolutely in love with it. I never left home without it. It turned out to be very easy to use, the touch screen system worked nicely and it was also very easy to customize it. I found it to be my best map friend. I updated it by computer twice weekly and also never got lost. A few months ago the problems started happening. Now, they are only minor problems, but the problems that occured reminded me of Map Quest. Randomly the GPS system would be lost. When I turned the Tom Tom on, I would put in my destination, and it would calculate and start me on a route from the place I was coming home from the night before. Then the GPS signal would be lost again. I have to turn it off and then back on again, wait a few minutes and re-type my destination, then turn around because it initially brought...
...

I never wanted or thought I needed a GPS navigator. But my mom bought me one for Christmas last year. I thought about exchanging or returning it to the store. Mom kept asking me if I was using it whenever we talked on the phone and told me not to return it. My husband and I were getting ready to a different state the March after Christmas so we finally decided to open and use the GPS. The first time I used it, I fell in love with it. It was awesome. Now that we are in a new state and new city, I use it everyday. It helps me so much. The only problem I've had is that we live on a military base that has closed a couple of entrance gates, but the GPS still tries to take you onto the base using those old gates. I honestly think this is one of the best Christmas gifts my mother has ever given me. I absolutely love it. I've only seen it sold at CVS. It is relatively inexpensive (less than $100) compared with other brands

brandasa says "Pretty Good for the Price " about Garmin - 2100 GPS Navigator

I got my new Garmin for Christmas. I love it. At first it was a bit difficult to get use to, but it became very easy. The battery life is good, so it does not always have to be plugged in. The one disappointing thing is that it sometimes takes a long time to find a satelite. Like it might take upwards of three minutes to find the location you are currently at. But, once it finds it is very good. One easy way around this is to never turn it off (then it knows where is was last.) It is certainlly a product that I would reccommend to a friend. My favorite feature is that you can put in via destinations. This allows me to put in several destinations at the beginning of the trip and then not have to worry about it. It is great when going to new places and makes it easy to find a park to stop and explore. I can't imagine life without my Garmen now! I would highly reccommend any product by them.
...

Belstone says "Garmin 260W affordably offers great geographical coverage" about Garmin - 260W

Garmin 260W is my first GPS, which I bought before a major trip to Canada, where it was a lifeline through unfamiliar territory. It's relatively inexpensive, easy to use, with a good sized screen, a variety of voice choices (which speak the turns and street names), and has great geographical coverage. The visual display is clear and easy to read, and the lighting changes automatically for clearer viewing under night conditions. The Garmin 260W did unfortunately come out before traffic detection programming became standard on the less expensive models, and I would have liked a lane change suggestion feature. But it's been a rewarding purchase for its price range.

I would recommend buying a portable stand holder base (not included with the unit) so that one can use the GPS in a variety of cars. The included stick on stand base is permanent and has the unfortunate side effect of announcing to the world that you own a GPS.
...

I really like the step by step direction features of my Garmin Nuvi GPS system. The upcoming road feature is helpful, although I wish it would 'say' the road instead of just showing you the road that is coming up. The one drawback that I have found is the loudness of the GPS Garmin Nuvi. It would be nice if it had a volume control on it. Sometimes I find it WAY TOO LOUD so much that it almost startles me when I'm not expecting it to speak, but on the other hand, sometimes I wish it could be louder especially if on the highway or a noisy street then it's almost too hard to hear. Sometimes the re-calculating feature drives me crazy, because I don't always go the exact way it tells me to start out - bit then I usually have to laugh because I have to realize that it is the only way for the GPS system to tell you that it is changing the original set of directions. Only one time has I had the Garmin Nuvi direct me to make a wrong turn.

My husband and I purchased the Magellan - Maestro 4000GPS Navigation System a few months ago when he started traveling with his job. It has helped us find places that we didn't think could have existed. It is very easy to use and with his large fingers the touch screen is a breeze. The only problem we have had with this navigation system is that on long trips on a interstate - the voice will scare you to death after it has been idle for a while. One problem we have had is that is sometimes takes a while to recalculate at the beginning of a trip. If we turn it off and go where we know to go without it, it starts back at the place where we turned it off and takes a while to update, so if you leave out thinking you know where you are going before it recalculates, you could be on the wrong track and have to detour. We really have enjoyed this product and would still be lost if we hadn't had it on some of our trips.
...

I've had my Garmin for 2 years, and I wouldn't be without it. It is very easy to program addresses and saves my favorite ones. I like the fact that I can view my route before actually driving it, or changing it as I drive to stop somewhere on the route. When my cord wouldn't work any longer, Garmin sent me a new one! They are a terrific company to work with. I recommend it to everyone. It directs you the quickest way and gives you the time of arrival. I've never been directed wrong, and I always arrive on the expected time. I drove as a courier so I used it on a daily basis, and I didn't have to look up addresses in a map book and figure my route. It gives you such confidence of finding addresses quickly. I love the sub-titles of gas station, banks, post-office, etc. Or you can just type in your request and it will show you several places starting with the closest one first. This would be a perfect gift for a new driver. I always say, Don't leave home without it!...
...

Garmin - Nuvi 200 is one of the best, yet affordable (currently ~$179), GPS navigators that have been available to the consumer nowadays. It comes with the an adapter for your car charger, a dashboard holder (not recommended on the windshield in the State of California), the latest 2008 (now-2009) map for the USA and it has a slot for the memory card (not included). The memory card can be used to update maps, upload photos or other miscellanous information to the unit as needed.

Garmin - Nuvi 200 is so easy to install and use. One does not have to be a techie to use it. The unit is also portable, in that one can simply carry it while walking. Unlike the ones that come installed in some cars and cost a ridiculous $1500.

One of the major cons of this product is that it has been discontinued. The 2008 version has maps for the US only. I heard the 2009 map includes Canada as well. Although it has been updated recently, new changes have been added to the maps. It came in a box with an instruction manual, power supply, computer cord, GPS, mounting stand, and a case. The GPS was very easy to mount on the windshield of my car. It uses a very strong suction cup and the mounting stand is very adjustable so you can make sure you can see it from whichever angle you like. It case is also very nice for when it is not in use. The GPs also says the name of the street, etc that you need to turn on which is nice. There is a day mode and a night mode, so the screen is easy to see at all times of day. The one negative is that the battery does not last super long, but the cord is able to reach to wherever you mounted it in the car. I highly recommend the Magellen Maestro 4040.
...

jps246 says "Inexpensive yet functional - TomTom ONE 130S GPS Receiver" about TomTom - ONE 130S GPS Device

While I never thought I'd need a GPS receiver for my car and I still don't think I do, but it's turned out that the TomTom One 130S GPS Receiver has been a great addition that has made it easier to find specific addresses and locations when I'm driving.

The TomTom One 130S is a Global Positioning Service (GPS) device that receives signals from a network of satellites, which pinpoint your location. It uses that information along with a database of maps for the United States to let you navigate practically anywhere. The 130S packs a lot of functionality into its small package. You get a GPS that takes about a minute or less to mount on your windshield, lets you enter destinations quickly, provides step by step voice and/or visual instructions, has maps that can be constantly updated through a computer connection, has tons of points of interest pre-programmed into the device, and can calculate new routes on the fly should you miss a turn or not want to go in the direction the device is...
...

areichh says "The TomTom Go 730 is worth every penny spent and then some!" about TomTom - Go 730

The TomTom Go 730 is one of the best products I have purchased in a long time. I originally purchased it for my directionally challenged wife. However, I have gotten so much use out of it. I find by far the best feature is the points of interest information. Whenever I go somewhere that I am not familiar I can find a gas station, place to eat, grocery store or whatever I need. With three kids whenever we head out on a trip someone almost always has forgotten something and we need to head out to some store. The TomTom makes it so easy. I also love the reroute. If for some reason the map is wrong or the streets have been changed you can have it give another route detouring around certain places. This feature is also great when you run into accidents or traffic jams. The only real problem that I have had is that you are supposed to be able to go online and update the maps for free but I seem to not be able to do it. Also they don't have any customer service number to...
...

My daughter has been begging for a GPS for months. Since neither one of us has any sense of direction, I finally broke down and bought her one. I bought the Magellan Roadmate 1412. I have been able to use her GPS several times since I bought it and for someone who is somewhat technically challenged it is really easy to use. It has lots of features. I especially like the voice directions. The Magellan Roadmate not only shows you a map with the directions but has a voice guiding you all the way. I like the fact that the voice directions gives the street name as it is giving you the directions. I also like the feature where if you are out of town you can put in a specific resturaunt and it will find several of them near you. It will also locate and give directions to gas stations, hotels, motels, and hospitals, etc. It has really been great having. My daughter even uses it in town to fin quicker ways to get to the places she is going. I like it so much I'm going to...
...

byging says "The Garmin Nuvi is a nice GPS for the price." about Garmin - Nuvi 200W Car GPS

My husband gave me the Garmin Nuvi for my birthday. I love it. I started using it right away and found it to be the most valuable tool especially living in a newer community. I used to buy a new map book every couple of years or so for the city where I live and one nearby where we visit. We have since been able to remove that expense from our budget.

On the Garvin website you can download new vehicles, which I did right away. The unit also has the option for different voices, male and female with different accents. It's nice to be able to personalize it like this.

The portability of the unit is great. When my husband needed it for a fishing trip he just grabbed the GPS and the charger and took it in his truck. It is small enough to tuck away in my glove box and my husband bought a carrying case to go with it to keep it safe from scratches. I did notice though that it stays covered in fingerprints. I wish it had come with a cloth like you get with eye glass cleaner, but I guess that...
...
