I have always loved the Olympus brand and It has proven to definately be one of the best. And this camera proves it thirty times over. The quality of the pictures are great and the zoom is pretty awesome for the price. It is very compact, lightweight, and easy to use (after getting used to of course). The black and white feature is really good. The flash is really good for this sort of camera and doesn't mess up a lot of pictures like most cameras do. THe auto function does a really good job of decided on the flash, unlike some cameras where you have to take three or four and then mess with the flash and then take a few more pictures. This camera usually gets it right the first time. Which makes for quick and easy picture taking! I absolutely love it and the colors it comes in. It looks really fancy and I get alot of compliments on the look and how good the camera works. I would definately recommend the olympus brand and this camera specifically.
...

tattoogirl33 says "the canon digital camera is a smart camera" about Canon - EOS 350D/Rebel XT

I've had a few canon type cameras, anything from 35m to small pocket point and shoot type. I love the warrenty they offer. Its lightning fast with out alot of blurryness going on with it.Its a long respectable company. Specially when you start to see alot of commericals. Its a known name brand of very many photographers around the world. I love finding deals with canon. They offer so much with any camera you get. So much your almost over whelmed with the box and the stuff inside it. I like the extra lens and cd and free prints it gives you when you first purchase your canon. Theres so many out there that each year it seems to get better an better. I have over 4 canons personally. It is a great company and trust worthly. So if ever in need of a good long lasting trusting camera go for canon. Like I said its a known name in the household for over 40 years in business. One of the best features is the part you connect to your computer right away. Either use your memory stick or just plug it...
...

OK. i feel i should preface this one with the fact that i once aspired to become a professional photographer. took classes in HS and college. (i kinda got a little knocked up & life went a totally different direction for me.) So i feel i'm fairly knowledgeable about cameras, but keep in mind, my schooling on the subject ended in 1999. so i'm totally self-taught on digital photography.

anyway. the Fujifilm S-5100. awesome camera. i'm big on fuji. i think they have excellent lenses and make great 35mm film. when i use my 35mm camera, i use fuji lenses and film. i'm loyal like that. so, being loyal, my review might be a little slanted. it's hard to be objective about the things you love!

the S-5100, that all being said, is outdated. we bought ours years ago when it first came out. it's only 4 mega-pixels, if that tells you anything. but honestly, if you're not a professional, you don't need more than 4! 8x10 photos look amazing with 4 mega-pixels. and i don't know many average users...
...

The greatest, most hi-tech, zillion megapixel camera in the world does you no good if you don't have it with you because it's too big and you don't want to drag a camera bag around all day. We have a fabulous digital SLR that I use when I'm specifically going out to shoot pictures - and I have this one that is always in my handbag. It's more than a point-and-shoot, though, and takes exquisite photographs.

With 10 megapixels and a 5x optical zoom, a Nikkor lens (glass, unlike the plastic lenses in some digitals), and some pretty impressive in-camera software, you'll won't be sacrificing picture quality. Comparing the abilities of this little gem with your cell phone camera is like comparing a Cadillac with Pinto.

Most cameras have red-eye reduction now - the flash briefly flashes before the flash picture is taken, causing the subject's pupils to contract. The S550 has that - and it also has in-camera software to correct red-eye after the shot. This is a real bonus for folks who...
...

The Panasonic Luminx is my 4th camera purchase in 5 years and it is by far the best I have owned. I purchased this camera for about $300 which is a little higher than average for digital camera's however the picture quality and speed of the camera are excellent. The camera has several features for example the Burst feature. I can turn on Burst and take continuous shots. I took over 50 continuous shots of my son's baseball game with no lag in the shots. It is very user friendly and easy to use. I seldom change the setting from the automatic setting and I always take great crisp pictures. It has a large LCD screen for viewing your pictures. The Panasonic Luminix also takes good movies. I have a 1GB flash card and I can get up to 15 minutes of video on the card before having to transfer the files. The red eye feature works well also. Well worth the investment and probably the last camera I will purchase for many years. I definately recommend this digital camera to any...
...

I have a photography business in Fort Scott, Kansas and I use my Fujifilm Finepix S1000 digital camera for all of my photography needs. It's a great camera. It has 10.0 megepixels and 12x zoom on it. There's also a large LCD screen but I can use the optical eye piece if I decide to. The pictures it produces are very sharp and clear. They're high quality too. I've taken litterally thousands of pictures with this camera and I am really happy with it. It has ten different manual settings however, I usually just leave it on the automatic setting. That always works out perfectly. This camera also takes videos with sound. The videos I've taken with it are also sharp and clear. The only problem I've ever had about this camera is that there is a short delay from the time you push the button to the time the camera actually takes the picture. I've never found a digital camera that doesn't do that. However, that's not usually a problem.
...

A lot of cameras in the crowded and competitive digital point-and-shoot market are all flash and no substance. They add all sorts of extra gimmicks such as fancy slide shows and colorful borders that don't actually contribute to the cameras' pictures. Canon thumbs its nose at that design philosophy with the simple yet functional PowerShot SD600, a 6-megapixel point-and-shoot camera that's light on features but heavy on image quality, performance, and usability. It's simply a great camera for anyone interested in just taking great-looking images.

I recently purchased a brand new Canon PowerShot SX110 from HH Gregg. I had searched user reviews and kept coming back to numerous raves about the varying digiital camera options that Canon offered. Up until now I had owned only Sony digital cameras and I can say without a doubt that this PowerShot SX110 is FAR better than any of the previous cameras I've used. Granted, it has newer and updated technology, but the picture quality alone is far superior. Clear, crisp images, and a slew of settings to insure that the camera is adapted for your surroundings. Whether indoors, kids/pets (which is FANTASTIC for catching those pictures in motion!) and a couple of my other favorites so far....the fireworks setting and the aquarium setting. As a family who visits zoos and aquariums extremely often, this aquarium feature far surpassed even my expectations. Pictures indoors aquariums or facilities like this, are usually dark or distorted. With this Canon, the colors are vibrant the...
...

I have owned the Olympus E-510 with the two kit lenses for about a year and a half. I have taken close to 1000 shots with it. It takes great photos and so-so photos. It really depends on you. Straight out of the box it takes pretty good shots. With a little knowledge and some tweaking it takes great shots. One suggestion read and learn. Read the manual, at least three times. Also google "Wrotniak". He has written a review and has some suggestions for tweaking the setting on the camera for optimal performance. His advice on changing the settings is (imho) excellent and to be heeded. Also, get out of auto. Try the aperture setting and learn to blur the background on portraits. Use the shutter setting and learn to stop action or blur action. Use the internet to find out how. It's been very helpful to me. Good luck and keep shooting.

I was reluctant to switch to a digital camera, mostly because I find them too complex to take advantage of their features but this Sony CyberShot H5 has proven very intuitive to use. Our family vacations photos have never come out so well. Very good zoom (though at full power it's hard to keep the shot steady.) Great battery life and memory capacity. I really like the large viewing screen and the ability to scroll through and delete unwanted shots. It has practically paid for itself on lower film developing costs since I don't have to keep shots I don't really want. I also like the ability to shoot in low light without a flash. Being able to look at my trip pics on my laptop is another huge upgrade for me.

I've had this camera in extreme cold and extreme heat and humidity and it has been completely reliable. I've never lost pics from memory failure, unlike some other digital users I know. Nothing has gone wrong in around two years of heavy usage.

Seems like I'm always buying a new camera before taking a trip...the Nikon S600 purchase was no exception. Not having sufficient time to do research, I went to my local BestBuy and compared this camera to it's smaller 500 series brother. I was concerned that the S600 was about to be discontinued because it was already marked down, but the salesman assured me that both camera came out at the same time. I opted for the slightly more expensive S600 and went home to charge the battery and to pack for my trip to Belgium and the Czech Republic. Nikon promoted the S600 as having "the fastest start-up time for any camera in its class." While that is true, I wrongly assumed it would be ready to shoot a picture after starting up so quickly. My bad...

My initial impression looking at it's sleek lines and compact design was positive. I've owned several Nikon Coolpix point and shoot cameras and have never been pleased with the way they looked...until now. I arrived in Brussles, checked...
...

I purchased the Nikon D60 the day before going on a trip to Hawaii. Having owned several Nikon point and shoot cameras, I've grown accustom to the Nikon interface and wanted to continue to use it. Being a techie, I would normally choose a higher end model, but since this was a last minute purchase, I wasn't willing to invest the amount of cash required to go with the D90 or D300. Although reading more about the D90 on the flight to Hawaii, I started to have second thoughts about not purchasing the higher model.

The buyer's remorse ended just a few minutes after shooting my first pictures on the D60. The response from the D60 surprised me. To allow for the most flexibility in editing, I saved my pictures in the Nikon Raw format. I was further delighted later that night when I used the included Nikon Transfer software to transfer the pictures from the D60 to my laptop - Yes, I know I could have just plugged in the SD memory card into my laptop, but Nikon Transfer performed...
...

my husband bought me a new digital camera for Christmas, and the salesman highly recommended this one. I have not been happy using this Nikon S51 at all. I had only taken a few pictures with it when it started messing up, and I have three small grand kids! I missed so many great poses of the children because this camera would not take the picture correctly. At first it was a little darker than it should of be. Before long every picture I tried to take was totally black or pure white. We tried to return it to the camera store where it was purchased, and the sales person tried to say we had messed with the menu and had the adjustments all wrong. They "adjusted" it, and said it was fine, and they didn't take returns anyway! I would have to get in touch with Nikon myself. After doing that, we have had to pay to mail it back to Nikon, and are still waiting for it to come back. In the mean time, my old trusty Canon is still taking great pictures.
...

I have the Casio EX-Z750, and I must say... that it has been the best camera of its type, that I have owned! First of all, the quality of the pictures is beyond what i had ever hoped. With 7.2 megapixels, once I downloaded them to my computer, I could zoom in and see things i didn't even see when the picture was taken. It also has very nice downloading program to install on your computer. The optional settings available to adjust the style of picture you want to take are perfect. I have used all of them atleast once. Optional settings are, I believe.. night, party(lowlight), sepia, black and white, and one that is like a cartoon. It is almost bulletproof! I have dropped, banged it , smashed(accidentally) several times and it still works! The charging base looks nice, and is very sturdy. It came with all of the accessories I needed to get started. I would recommend this camera to anyone and everyone. It is the one you need to buy.
...

UnkyMunky says "I am ready to upgrade my Kodak C533 Camera" about Kodak - EasyShare C533 Digital Camera

The Kodak C533 Camera has served it's purpose for what I bought it for. I have had the camera for almost three years and have used it extensively, but am now ready to upgrade due to it limitations. It is great for a point and shoot camera and taking still shots, but is a little bit outdated now. The megapixels at the time I bought the camera were what I thought were needed, but now find out I would like to have a higher megapixel camera. This camera came with a docking station printer, which while it worked was a good deal. I could print out pictures directly from camera to the printer and it made awesome pictures, but the printer did not work for very long. The viewing screen is a little bit small on this camera and I would like to have a much larger screen. This camera has not given me any trouble at all and still does take great pictures, but I just seem to have outgrown the C 533 and find myself looking for an update. All in all, no real complaints regarding the camera,...
...

melissay says "Canon Rebel XT ----- Awesome Camera, Great Price, Easy to Use!!!" about Canon - EOS 350D/Rebel XT

I must say that the Canon Rebel XT is a great choice for ANYONE that wants great quality pictures and an easy to use, versitile camera!

I am a photography student and bought the XT in November of 2008 and think it was an excellent purchase. I shopped around and really loved the reviews for Canon as a whole. Went to the store to check them out found that it is pretty lightweight (compared to other DSLR's), tons of features plus the easy to use auto features and specialty features such as motion, landscape, up close, portrait, etc.

The options are seemingly endless for lenses so you don't have to worry about buying a new camera as your skill level grows. Lenses can be an expensive investment but they are well worth it...just like the camera.

My husband can even pick the camera up, turn it on and start shooting away and he really knows nothing about the shooting details of cameras and picture taking. But he comes out with great pictures.

Excellent choice for someone that LOVE taking pictures...
...
