jrwasko says "The camcorder I have been waiting for" about Canon Hf10 (16 GB) Flash Media Camcorder

I held off all these years and waited for my ultimate camcorder and this was it. I wanted something with internal memory, lots of features, and was easy to use. Everything on this camera is menu driven and very intuitive. I have owned the camera for over a year now and have yet run out of flash memory when filming or taking photos. While the pixels on the camera for still photos is somewhat low it is more than enough unless you plan on blowing up your photos to poster size. I enlarged numerous photos to 8x11 and the resolution was perfect. The camcorder part of the unit still impresses me each time I use it. I have taken night, day, and action movies and all have come put crystal clear and professional looking. The one trick with this unit as with any comcorder or camera is you must use it frequently and learn all the features to maximize its potential. But with the flash memory record all you want until you get the perfect picture.
...

Lateflite says "Bright, Brilliant HD Camcorder" about Canon VIXIA HF11 Flash Media Camcorder

The Canon HD Vixia HF s11 camocrder is one of the best camcorders ever. It's so easy tom use, light weight and is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand so that you can always have it at the ready for the unexpected shots of those energetic grandchildren or your rambuncious pets.

One of the features I like best on the Canon HD Vixia camcorder is the tilting viewscreen that you can adjust to any angle for better viewing, particularly outdoors when the glare makes LCD screens difficult to see in bright sunslight. The camcorder has 8.00 megapixels (whatever they are) but they deliver a bright, brilliant screen in fabulous HD that yo simply have to see to believe. It's as good as movie screen clarity. This camcorder features all the bells and whistles you could possibly want and more. You can also isolate still frames if you have an image you want to download and print. I have not tried this, but you can download your video directly to the intenet.

I have never owned a camcorder, and after trying this Panasonic - PV-GS14 Camcorder, I can't imagine my life without it. This is such an amazing product because it shoots clear and vivid videos and is of amazing quality. My favorite part of this camera is how easy it is to take with you. It is small and compact in size, but creates great videos. I use an 8mb SD card with this that lasts for over two hours of HD shooting. The video quality is so amazing and it is easy to view the video on television or your computer. The screen is easy to watch so that you know what you are shooting and the camera can work as a digital camera as well so that you can just point and shoot the important moments while you are filming the video. Every video is easy to make perfect because the sound quality is high and it has a great zoom feature so even if the object is far away, you can get close. This worked amazing on a recent whale watch I did. I would highly recommend this camera to anyone...
...

purple384 says "I love the color of it "purple"" about Sony - webbie

The Good: the color and design is attractive, it has "HD" resolution, memory-card slot, swiveling lens, and its very portable and fits in my purse. ANother good thing about this is that its very light and it will not weigh your hand down.

The Bad: it's difficult to see the LCD on a candy bar-shaped camcorder when you want to shoot at an angle. Every time I skip to next picture the noise is always loud and it can be quite annoying. At first, when I was setting the time/date it is very sensitive, so you have to go really slow and be patience. There is no light flash for the camera section, but the camera does a pretty good job picking up light in the area.

Overall, I enjoy using the webbie to recorder my neices and my nephew during football practices/ganmes. I do in fact like that I can move the lens up and down to catch every movement during my recording.
...

My husband bought the Flip Video Camera for me as a holiday gift last year. At first I thought he was crazy because we had a camcorder in the closet that was gathering dust. Then I played with this and realized just how great technology had come in this field. While this product only records one hour at a time on my system, I am still thrilled. It really is all that I need to tape my daughter's classes and other events. It zooms in and out, stops, starts. It is just that simple and truly intuitive. If you are a new parent to be, I would seriously consider this unit. You'll be so sleep-deprived and strung out from having to figure out how everything else goes together (crib, stroller, etc.) that you will find this a totally refreshing breeze! Finally a camera for the busy person on the go! Quick tip, buy the soft case that has a clip on the end of it for easy attachment to a purse, backpack, etc. And when it comes time to download --- super simple - just plug it into...
...

benjie2009pr says "is a great camera" about JVC GZ-MG330 HDD Camcorder

JVC was the first company to release consumer-oriented hard disk-based camcorders. But its Everios are under increasing competition from other manufacturers - as well as the latest flash memory models. So JVC is making its hard disk camcorders smaller, more compact, and better value. Leading the charge at the budget end of the scale is the GZ-MG330, which is also aiming to please the more style-conscious videomaker. You can have it in red, blue, silver, and black. So you can choose whichever one matches your usual outfit.

Despite its fruity new look, the MG330 has a relatively run of the mill specification. It's built around a 1/6in CCD with a gross 800,000 pixels, but only half that number is used for video or still images. This is par for the course for a camcorder at this price, and the largest digital photos are therefore only 640 x 480. So the MG330 is no convergence special either.

Thanks to its small sensor, the JVC offers a whopping 35x optical zoom, although you can add digital...
...

This High Definition 1920x1080i camcorder simply records an amazing picture that needs no tapes. It records the video directly to the built in hard-drive which you can then download to your computer and easily burn to a DVD with the supplied software. We bought it to document our new baby and the colors and clarity of the picture are very life-like. As if you are watching a television broadcast that you created yourself. The picture quality is simply unmatched in personal camcorders today. It even takes 10.2 MP still pictures that are actually good quality. Typical still picture quality on a camcorder is a joke and could never replace an actualy digital camera, but this is the first camcorder that could make owning a separate digital camera obsolete. Just push the still picture button while recording video and it will take a digital picture at the same time. It can do both at once. Simply amazing. No fumbling for multiple electronic devices to capture the most important...
...

bkovacs says "Long-running battery makes for awkward operation" about Canon BP-819 Lithium Ion Camcorder Battery Pack (2589B002)

I have a Canon Vixia HF11 camcorder, which is a tiny little thing that records in high definition. It really is small -- about the size of a Coke can. One of the downsides to the small size of the camcorder is that it has a small battery that neatly integrates with the package. This makes for a tidy appearance but not particularly long record times.

With a maximum record time of about 75 minutes, I knew that I wanted a backup battery that held even more power. Therefore, I bought a Canon BP-819 camcorder battery, which is good for nearly 120 minutes. I bought it at Amazon for about $75 (ouch!).

What it is

The Canon BP-819 battery is a small cube measuring about 1.5 inches tall, 1.5 inches deep and one inch wide. It clicks into a well in the Canon HF11 camcorder but is so deep that it extends about 1/2-inch from the back of the camcorder. (The standard battery, part number BP-809, is flush with the back surface of the camcorder.) The BP-819 uses the same "intelligent Li-ion" technology as...
...

If you're an aspiring filmmaker just starting out or even want to makse some cool skate videos of your friends and post them on YouTube this a great video camera for the task at hand. The large screen makes it easy to see and the instruction manual is actually writen in English so you can read it (as opposed to some technical jargon that no one really comprehends and is just annoyed by). The Panasonic DVX100 was once the top of the line in prosumer cameras, now HD has taken over and it's fallen below some others but it's still a great value for the money and well worth investing in.

The only downside is it's sort of bulky compared to a lot of other cameras currently on the market and that can pose a problem if you're trying to shoot on the fly or sneak the camera in somewhere it's not supposed to be. I like the autofocus and auto adjustments you can use as well as the manual settings for coloring, white balancing and so forth. Overall a very good camcorder and one you can enjoy.
...

Keep recharging your batteries and this will charge you life up. It's compatible with Mac and can link you to their website for more products. You can download and install the software and turn any footage you capture into snapshots available into jpeg format and attach to e-mails. You can even send your videos straight to your YouTube channel, Myspace page, AOL site or the social networking venue of your choice. Make movies using music on your mp3 player. It does come with pre-selected and pre-approved tracks to use. Try transferring the images to a blank disc to play on your DVD player. Quite innovative and entertaining. Visit the website to get a tripod if you wish because they are sold individually. You can now have your own Flip Channel and share your pictures and videos wiht other members and users online. Just remember, the longer the footage, the longer it will take to download. It can only hold a maximum of sixty minutes.
...

The Pure Digital Flip UltraHD looks a lot like other $200-and-under pocket HD camcorders, but experts say it offers some real advantages over the competition. It's unfair to expect the UltraHD to deliver the video quality of even mid-priced HD camcorders, such as the Canon Vixia HF200 (*Est. $600), let alone top performers such as the Canon Vixia HF S10 (*Est. $1,105), but those pricier camcorders shoot in 1080p HD, while the Flip UltraHD shoots in lower resolution 720p HD. Still, testers say the UltraHD's footage looks surprisingly good considering its price -- even a little better than the Pure Digital Flip MinoHD (*Est. $210). Like most pocket camcorders, the UltraHD lacks any kind of image stabilizer. You also won't find an optical zoom, and the digital zoom simply blows up the picture and makes it fuzzy. Features are otherwise good for the class, experts say, and include a flip-out USB connector for easy use with a PC, and an HDMI connector that lets you see video in high-def directly...
...

We have had several DVD camcorders over the years and they just really don't seem to last no matter how much we spend so we have decided that we are only going to get in-expensive ones from now on.

I saw the Samsung SC-DX103 680 Pixel DVD Camcorder on sale for just $164.00 the price was so low I was weary, but since we agreed to not spend a lot of money on DVD camcorders any more the price seemed good to me.

The DVD featers a Schneider 34X Optical Zoom, and 2.7 inch LCD Viewfinder, a DVD/Flash or SD Card, digital image stabilation. The SC-DX103 memory card slot offers you the option of using an SD card, or MMC as a flash memory card to record still images or movie clips.

We just had a son and of course its video time! We already had a Canon (big, huge, clunky) recorder but I needed something that would be user friendly, easy to travel, and no-fuss-no muss to use. Plus, it's affordable! I am in love with my Flip Video and am so happy I bought it after my exhaustive research.

It takes fabulous videos and is so easy to use and upload videos to youtube, myspace...and hoping it syncs a bit better with Facebook in the future. But you can still upload onto Facebook directly from your C drive. When you have an infant, you don't know when a cute moment is coming on or "oh my god he just rolled over, found his toes, cut his first tooth, crawl, walk" etc. You need something easy to grab and use in an instant! I use the tripod also...which is a little easier when trying to shoot direct-the only downside is trying to angle it properly on another object.

I don't "leave home without it" and love how easy and small it is to store in my tiniest of purses...
...

The Flip video camera is perfect for the amateur videographer, with its low cost, easy of use, portability and simple interface for posting online. I've used it to film home videos, footage of travels, concerts, sporting events and even a wedding. The quality of the video is very good, though it can be somewhat grainy in low light. The sound quality is quite good, and the simple USB flip mechanism makes it easy to transfer videos onto a computer and charge the camera. For the price, you can't find a better camcorder.
...

blester says "HD Video at Affordable Prices for capturing those memories" about Kodak - Zi6

I purchased the Kodak Zi6 last fall when it made it appearance at the local Best Buy. Having had a bad experience with JVC I decided I would try this one before jumping in to buy a higher priced High Def Camcorder. To my surprise I have been quite impressed with the ease of use since there are only a few buttons to use to change settings. You can film HD Quality for a very low price compared to other HD Camcorders with a varieity of settings from still pics, Standard VGA at 30 frames per second, HD at 30 or 60 frames per second. I recommend buying an SD/SDHC card to allow for longer recording times. You can expand up to a 32 GB card to store longer movies or more short movies which ever suits your needs. You receive one set of rechargeable batteries along with a battery charger in the box. I suggest buying extra batteries so you are prepared to take those unexpected videos. After taking your video you can upload directly to Youtube through a flip out USB connection or you can download the...
...

Sony DCR SR 47 60gb camcorder is an excellent camcorder with 60gb in built hard drive and 60x optical zoom. It has touch screen , multi language operation, dvd direct express compatible. The camcorder is very small, handy and very cute. The video is very clear and excellent and even still images are very good. This camcorder comes with a CD-ROM, batterypack, connecting cable, usb cable, AC Adapter. The software which comes with CD-ROM is very nice that we can edit videos and make some still images from the videos. This feature is excellent and I like this feature very much. I bought this camcorder from Amazon.com for 343$. The 60gb storage space is enough for long video recordings.
...

sdwalden says "Best little camera ever" about Sony - Handycam DCR-DVD108 DVD Camcorder

This little Sony Handy Cam/Digital camera is one of the best things invented since sliced bread. This little camera takes still pictures on memory card, as well as, video on mini dvds. These little dvds fit into your computer port and play very easy for copying or just playing. You can also take stills on the memory card and if you have a mini lab take it right out and print out your pictures. I bought a tripod for this gem and took a completely wonderful video of my sons Christmas Concert at school. This video turned out to be a family keep sake my wife downladed it onto the computer and then copied it onto a dvd. We then sent the dvd to my mother who has watched it over and over. She can't say enough about it. She can't be there to watch her grandsons grow up and this is wonderful way to help ease that anxiousness.
...
