blester says "HD Video at Affordable Prices for capturing those memories" about Kodak - Zi6

I purchased the Kodak Zi6 last fall when it made it appearance at the local Best Buy. Having had a bad experience with JVC I decided I would try this one before jumping in to buy a higher priced High Def Camcorder. To my surprise I have been quite impressed with the ease of use since there are only a few buttons to use to change settings. You can film HD Quality for a very low price compared to other HD Camcorders with a varieity of settings from still pics, Standard VGA at 30 frames per second, HD at 30 or 60 frames per second. I recommend buying an SD/SDHC card to allow for longer recording times. You can expand up to a 32 GB card to store longer movies or more short movies which ever suits your needs. You receive one set of rechargeable batteries along with a battery charger in the box. I suggest buying extra batteries so you are prepared to take those unexpected videos. After taking your video you can upload directly to Youtube through a flip out USB connection or you can download the...
...

Sony DCR SR 47 60gb camcorder is an excellent camcorder with 60gb in built hard drive and 60x optical zoom. It has touch screen , multi language operation, dvd direct express compatible. The camcorder is very small, handy and very cute. The video is very clear and excellent and even still images are very good. This camcorder comes with a CD-ROM, batterypack, connecting cable, usb cable, AC Adapter. The software which comes with CD-ROM is very nice that we can edit videos and make some still images from the videos. This feature is excellent and I like this feature very much. I bought this camcorder from Amazon.com for 343$. The 60gb storage space is enough for long video recordings.
...

This little Sony Handy Cam/Digital camera is one of the best things invented since sliced bread. This little camera takes still pictures on memory card, as well as, video on mini dvds. These little dvds fit into your computer port and play very easy for copying or just playing. You can also take stills on the memory card and if you have a mini lab take it right out and print out your pictures. I bought a tripod for this gem and took a completely wonderful video of my sons Christmas Concert at school. This video turned out to be a family keep sake my wife downladed it onto the computer and then copied it onto a dvd. We then sent the dvd to my mother who has watched it over and over. She can't say enough about it. She can't be there to watch her grandsons grow up and this is wonderful way to help ease that anxiousness.
...

I bought this item thinking "I'll use it all the time." I've thought this before about other products and then they end up deep in my closet somewhere. Surprisingly enough, I AM using my Flip Ultra a lot. It is light and portable so I keep it in my purse with me all the time just in case a cute moment comes up. The on-board software makes making movies and transferring them to DVD or online a breeze. There is no light on the camera, but so far I have not found that to be a problem. It only has 2x zoom, so shooting from across the room can be a bit difficult if you want close-up shots.

Flip Ultra's are available in 30 and 60 minute recording length versions. I opted for the 60 minute one and found it for $116 on Amazon.com. The camera case that comes with it worried me a bit in its ability to protect it from other hazards in my purse so I quickly purchased another one. The real difference between the Flip Ultra and the Flip Mino is the type of battery in it. I have used...
...

I purchased the Sony Webbie camcorder online for 200 dollars. The camera isnt bad, it does record in high quality, although I would not say that it was High Definition. The battery life on the camcorder is very good, you shouldn't run into any problems with that, unlike what I found on other cameras. The camcorder requires a memory stick, I recommend at least 4 Gigabytes. This will get you about thirty minutes of recording in the highest definition possible(which is 1080 for those techies out there). The camcorder comes with a built in light, but I found that the light does nothing but blind you or the person you're trying to record. The microphone is very very good. Importing is the hugest drawl back, it takes me hours to put the files on to my computer. It is worth the wait though, as the files are in much better quality than other camcorders that i own. In all, this is a great camera for starters.
...

We bought this camera about a year ago to record our 2 little kids. I researched quite a bit before making my seleciton because I was looking for a camera that could handle various lighting situations. I have to say I'm more than a bit dissappointed - especially given the cost of the camera. It works GREAT outside - and it's certainly easy to use, but unless you have mega-watts of light in your house, expect blurry pictures. It takes a long time to focus, and if your children move around (like most do - ha! ha!) you'll end up with a series of in-focus, then blurry, then in-focus again images.

But...it works great outside.

As for the software - it's constantly crashing our computer (Windows XP). However, I'm not 100% sure that this isn't because our computer is buggy. But it is a little frustrating, and it means that we haven't been that diligent about putting the videos onto DVDs for the grandparents (who live far away).

So I guess my feelings about this camera are probably weighing...
...

Pure Digital Technologies Flip Video Digital Camcorder with Flash memory is the greatest invention ever! A friend of mine had one and talked about how much they loved it, so I got one and now I am hooked! It is small so it is easy to keep in my purse or even in my pocket. I can shoot video quickly and easily. the videos are easy to save and download to my computer. I don't live near my family so it is nice to be able to video tape short messages or video that I can quickly download and send to my family. They love receiving the videos and always ask fore me. I don't mind that there is an hour limit on the camera...I haven't used that much before. I love taking quick shots of my son playing sports or outside with his friends....I recently went on a trip to DC and had the flip in my pocket the whole time. I was able to take pictures quickly and I came back an easily uploaded some of the videos to YouTube.
...

My husband gave me the challenge of choosing a sweet 16 birthday gift for his daughter. I myself was interested in purchasing a Flip Ultra video camera to carry in my purse to catch video of fun times with family. I loved the small, portable design and the trendy colors. I loved that it uses 2 double A batteries instead of a rechargable battery. I also appreciate the USB arm that flips out of the side for easy connection to my computer. I use a Mac and have no problems creating great quality video in Imovie. The picture quality is stunning, I have an old analog video camera and it does'nt even compare! I bought it for my step-daugher's birthday and she is so happy with it. I even bought one for myself!!! I love the underwater camera case- it is the perfect accesory for me since we love going to the beach. It stayed completely dry and no sand got on the camera. This is definitely something I recommend.
...

Well sony has out done themselves again.. One of my most trusted companies, I would probably by anything from sony. The Sony - DCR SR82 Camcorder is an awesome camcorder. I just love this Sony - DCR SR82 Camcorder. I am very pleased with the quality of the camcorder. We have had this camera for a while now and the whole family enjoys the ease of the camcorder. This camcorder is not only lightweight but very remarkable and has such an easy operation. The Sony - DCR SR82 Camcorder is such a compact little camera. I love how it fits snug in your hands, it is small, not all big and bulkly like some of those other camcorders.

One of the features I like the most about the Sony - DCR SR82 Camcorder is the ease of transferring images to a computer. I can put the videos right on my computer then they are there easily handy and ready to put on a DVD. The quality of the images are remarkable. I really like the docking station and the rechargeable battery.

I bought my JAZZ DV 151 from Big Lots for $28 on one of their sales initially to create a 60 second video to submit to the Island Reef Job in Austrailia. What I discovered is this thing sucks through it's AA batteries in less than 30 minutes of use which is ridiculous. I even tried using Lithium batteries and it sucked through that more quickly than the regular batteries. So I only recommend this product if you can buy it for $5 or less and have Re-chargeable AA batteries, which I have NOT tried yet myself but suspect may work better with this product. Don't expect to be able to record anything in High Resolution Setting longer than 10 minutes using a 2GB SD Card, haven't tried the low Resolution setting but suspect the quality would be so bad it wouldn't be worth shooting in Low setting with todays HD technology. Videos record in AVI format which is VERY Memory intensive, thus poor use of SD Memory card. Supposed Max Memory Card size you can use with this Product Model is 4GB. ...
...

I've had this camera for a few weeks now and I'm really enjoying it. The video I've taken with it seems to rival the quality from PBS HD, but of course I'm not a professional videographer. It sure has GREAT video quality! And I may not be no tech geek or anything but this camcorder is such an ease to use!
The size is surprisingly small. Not all huge and bulky. I don't think they will be able to make this thing any smaller in future versions. I think it would hurt the design rather than make it better.
I almost forgot about the audio problems! Within the first hour of getting the camera I noticed that I could hear the tape mechanism while taping. It was very loud and very noticeable. I was getting ready to take the camera back because of it. Fortunately it seems it was just that the camera needed to be "broken in". Once I watched some video, fast forwarded and rewound the tape a few times the sound went completely away. Now I can't be happier.
...

I can't say enough good stuff about my trusty Canon ZR 500 camcorder. As many people go the way of Hard drive or mini dvd video recorders, I haven't jumped on the bandwagon just yet. The ZR 500 is dependable and tough while providing a terrific picture quality. It is very easy to transfer videos from the 500 to a computer via firewire cable (which is included with the camcorder.)

The ZR 500 can take a beating. Mine has gotten me through 3 college video courses and more than a dozen freelance videography jobs. I've literally duct taped mine to the hood of a car and driven down the street. That was three years ago. It still shoots a perfect picture today. On my honeymoon in the Bahamas, when my digital still camera wouldn't work due to humidity, the ZR 500 was still shooting great video of ocean beaches.

I do have a few small complaints. The battery drains far more quickly than expected when not in use. If I don't use it for a month, then want to shoot something, I almost...
...

The Everio is the perfect family camcorder. The Hard Drive is plenty large enough at 30gig. Plenty of space to record all those family moments. The quick startup is perfect for catching your little child's moments without having to wait for a long startup. The built in light is great for low light situations but is not so bright it blinds the subject. It has an internal micro SD slot for even more memory. Downloading the images and video is as easy as any regular digital camera. The files are saved with all information like date, time etc. The size is perfect, especially for the smaller person like myself. It's light and small enough to fit in your purse. It's very simple to use, just point and shoot. I would really recommend this to anyone who wants to upgrade to a digital camcorder. Not discs or tapes to worry about carrying around or getting scratched or ruined. Burning to a dvd or cd is as simple as making a music or photo cd....

The Sony DCR-SR200 camcorder has 40 GB memory on its hard drive. This seems like a fantastic way to travel light, without having to lug boxes of tapes around. In reality, it can cause paranoia that one crash will delete all of your movies, so I travel with an external hard drive and back up the video often. Ok, the hard drive is still smaller than a box of tapes, so maybe this part isn't all bad.
There are 2 microphone settings to adjust audio input, however, with no audio output jack, there is no way to monitor what sound level is actually being recorded. Since I use the camera to cover a lot of dance and musical events, this is a huge "minus"!
The biggest problem with this camera is that it records the data in mpeg-2 format. As a mac user, I had to purchase extra software (Sony only includes PC software with the camera) to even be able to view the video on my computer. I have to convert all video before I can do any editing, which is time consuming.
This camera seemed like......

shawn-tonya says "Sony Handycam 408 Great for instant record library but a slow 1." about Sony - Handycam 408 Camcorder

To me this a 7 on a 1 to 10 scale. Its great for an advance user, but the small and tricky menu is kinda large for the novice user. With settings a go for a simple john, you then have a 5 to 8 min wait from loading the dvd to actually recording on it. Although there is ways around this, through the menu options of course, you have to know your dvd r- dvd r/w language and pixle vrs frame rate per sec ying yang to get it going fast. Overall for an advance user this quite possibly a 10 but for a first timmer its around a 4. Quality pictures and excellent voice, timming, frame rate and transfer from cam to dvd player is just awesome.....

grlewis72 says "The PV-GS14 Camcorder is really nice!" about Panasonic - PV-GS14 Camcorder

I must say that I was very impressed with the ease of use of this camcorder. I am left handed and so many of the buttons are on the left side. The picture quality is one of the best that I have seen. The only problem that I had is that it needs to be easier to transfer movies on to the PC. This camcorder has great zoom features and clear images. I especially liked the auto focus. This camcorder also operates as a Digital Camera. I have a seperate Digital Camera and I prefer the Camcorder better. I am not sure of the speed, but it will take pictures as fast as you can hit the button. The quality of still pictures are great. The zoom for pictures is wonderful, due to the auto focus. Every picture that I took was clear and unblurred. I highly reccommend this camcorder to anyone. ...

MexicanJim says "JVC Goes for It, and You Win!" about JVC - JVC GR-D850 Mini DV Camcorder

This pass year JVC threw caution to the wind and decided to go for it. Hardly anyone was paying attention to their camcorders anymore, so in one fell swoop, JVC went and poured all of it's technological knowledge into a small but rugged camcorder called the JVC GR-D850 Mini DV Camcorder, and dumped it on the market for slightly more than $200. The result was not quite what JVC had in mind. The good news was that consumers had a kick-ass model camcorder for a cheap price at their fingertips. The bad news was that hardly anyone even noticed it was there. The result is that the price has been dropping and the kick-assness has remained high.

Like many camcorders and guys you meet in bars, the JVC GR-D850 Mini DV Camcorders can never last as long as you'd like them to. The battery max here is 115 minutes. However, JVC gives you a little readout on the screen to tell you how much time is left. This is cool. Cool too is the stick control on LCD which allows you to simply "press the four "compass......
