groovingurly says "WSU is a great school with great programs and a small pricetag" about Weber State University

I love Weber State University. It is a great school with great nursing, education, criminal justice, automotive technology, and political science/pre-law programs. There are only a few master's degrees offered at Weber so the tenured professors teach the basic level classes as well as the upper division classes.

The class sizes are small for the most part. I've only had one or two classes with over 75 people and maybe 40% of my classes have 25 or less students. I'm a local student so I only pay 1800 a semester to go to school Out of state is considerably more but still less than the 20,000 many people pay to go to big schools.

They have a great cross country and track team, but the football team is not very good and the basketball team is okay so Weber does not get a lot of press for being a sports school.

The biggest drawback to Weber is that it is hard to transfer your credits from other schools to Weber. There tends to be a run-around from area to area when you have a problem....
...

I am interested in going to a two year college. I noticed this university called academy of art and the university entered my mine just for a few moments and then it was gone. I tell you anything sown in dishonor will be made in honor of the brain of the God. I want to live a life of life indeed and enjoy the finer things in life. I also notice this university could be very expensive. We should not have to pay for the schooling of the God. Everything is free of the world once you start speaking in the hour and living holy and being holy in conversation. I want to attend the sacramento city college and get my aa also called the associate of arts with the kid development program and with the business program. I am interested in the way the God will work with me regarding the studies I take and become a way the truth and the light. I am very happy about the way I live my life anyway and the mighty God does enjoy the way we practiced our way. I like to let the light so shine before men so that...
...

I chose Western Kentucky University primarily because they accepted my all my classes from Madisonville Community College, a KCTCS member. During my last semester at MCC, I was initially considering Murray State University, even filed an application there, but I was not overly excited that the only computer program of study they stressed for transfer was Telecommunications. I am not "hands-on" tech savvy person in terms of performing jobs such as an Network Administrator, or someone who would connect a multitude of computers throughout a building. Thus, when I saw the CIT program that WKU was offering, I was really impressed. I sent a multitude of emails to the CIT department head, Dr. Butterfield, who was very patient and answered my questions.

I applied for admission into WKU and was accepted. As they promised, all of my MCC classes through the KCTCS system were transferrable, and even some of my classes from both Briarcliffe and Nassau Community College as well. In fact,...
...

Southwest Tennessee Community College (Southwest) is a good two year school with a broad range of course options. For serious minded, or gifted students, Southwest provides the Honours Academy, which offers a series of honours courses designed to stimulate the student and engage the class. The Honours Academy also provides the student to graduate with an honours degree and the opportunity to become a part of the Honours Academy/Society at the four year school of their choice, should they decide to further their education.

Southwest does not offer student loans. However, they do work with federal and state grants in an effort to provide as much tuition coverage as possible to their students. There are also several scholarships available to student government members, the staff of the student newspaper, The Southwest Source, student tutors, and others. Students hoping to receive one of these scholarships must meet the appropriate criteria.
...

Welcome to the University of Iowa located here in Iowa City, Iowa. It is a tremendous school with a steller reputation. If you want to study medicine, we are among the greats! We can teach you how to operate on everything from head to toe. If you know someone who is a pain in your anus, we can teach you how to remove their colon.

Ours is a great college town where you can get serious academics to below average alcoholics in the works. Situated downtown, you can get a drink just as easily as you can find a library. Its all up to you what you want to be, what you want to do! One thing is for sure here in Hawkeye land there is lots of room for growth.

It can sometimes feel like a maze but don't let that trouble you. This place is amazing! Keep your wits about you and don't get sidetracked. Although our colors are black and gold, all that glitters is not gold! Many young lads and lasses have come through, handled their business made great friends and made an impact.

You can too!...
...

Immaculata is a great university offering a variety of degree options for the working adult. It is not your traditional college experience, but in a good way. You only have to attend classes one evening a week. Also, classes are completed in 5-7 weeks, depending to the credit value and level of course. Tests are more comprehensive rather than memorize and regurgitate. Grading based on understanding, class discussion contributions, homework, etc. Most classes are taught by individuals who work during the day in the profession that they are teaching. For example, IT classes were taught by people who worked as managers in the IT dept. for major corporations. Their real life experiences make the classes more enjoyable and comprehensive. Also, there are many degree options, and you can get an associates degree in as little as 2 years. The staff seem to really care and classmates become quick friends as many people have similar stories, working and want to make the extra effort...
...

DePaul University used to be known as more of a religious school. Students are still required to take one religious course, however this course can be on any type of religion that the student is curious about. Also, the Pope denounced it's support for the university in recent years supposedly because the university was too supportive of all types of diversity. Students seemed pleased with this fact. DePaul, with two locations, Lincoln Park and downtown, is known for it's beautiful buildings. Lincoln Park is a rather fancy neighborhood, and students may find it difficult to find affordable housing here. Many students are actually commuter studetns, but the number of students commuting seems to have gone down over the years. DePaul also offers university apartments, as an alternative to dorm-style living for upperclassmen. These apartmetns are not your typical university apartments, they're rather nice and fit in well with the beautiful residential neighborhood.
...

At Ottawa University, students are not a number; classes are small. The number of students per class ranges anywhere between 1 and 30. Many professors know their students by name. For the most part, professors at Ottawa University have lots of experience behind them and share their work experience with students. Professors encourage team work by assigning group projects to students. Most professors require only 1 textbook.

For the Masters of Arts programs, students meet once a week and classes are three hours long (they are held from 6:30pm to 9:30pm). Currently, classes are 11 weeks long. However, in 2010 classes will be 8 weeks long, students will meet once a week for 4 hours.

The academic advisors are great; they do more than tell students what classes to take. They keep track of ones progress throughout the program. The advisors are aware of state requirements for counseling in Arizona.

Fountainhead College of Technology is located north of downtown Knoxville. This is a small student body school focused on education of very technical fields. On average you are looking at class sizes of 18 to 25 students per instructor. They offer several majors but are basically confined to Information Technology, Electronics Technology, Medical Coding, or Radiation Protection. The problem I have with this school is their inability to stay current. We are using Windows XP not Windows 7, we are using Windows Server 03 not Windows Server 08, and you can forget about a Linux Distribution outside of their Linux Course. Their IT Manager is used to windows XP and refuses to learn anything else, so don't expect him to support any other OS. Their instructors on the other hand are usually all for upgrading to newer software, what IT guy wouldn’t be, but can't get the support or backing of the upper staff. But their reputation is hard to beat. Who can argue with 6 NSA certifications upon graduation?...
...

I attended Eastern Wyoming College from 1988 to 1991, and I graduated with an Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology. The program allowed me to obtain experience in the technical aspect of the field of Veterinary Technology as well as giving me hands on experience. The faculty and staff are easily approachable with questions and concerns. They are willing to help you achieve your full potential. Along with Veterinary Technology, the school also offers Cosmetology, Criminal Justice, Welding, and other technical degrees as well as providing a stepping stone for furthering your education. The courses offerred at EWC make it possible for someone to obtain the core credits needed for a 4year college, and most if not all of the credits are easily transferrable. As for the Veterinary Technician program, it makes it possible for someone to have a job waiting for them when they graduate, or it gives someone a great advantage if going into Vet school. In any case, I would highly...
...

Class sizes are very small so students have the opportunity to become good friends with their professors. The campus is also very beautiful and compact so it is easy to move about, especially in the winter! The campus is expanding rapidly to fit the growing needs of its students. The student center was remolded recently and has even more activities and meeting areas for students. It now has six different dining areas that provide students with a variety of options. The student center also has different games and many televisions for students to enjoy between classes. Uindy has a very friendly and devoted staff that are willing to help students with any needs. Campus is ten minutes from the heart of downtown Indianapolis. There are millions of things to do and many classes involve the community and downtown businesses.
...

I have tried a few different colleges to get my degree. I have to say this school is the best so far. Athens tech does a really good job with most everything. They took care of all of my financial aid needs for me with out a single problem. My advisor is a really nice lady. ( I am taking cosmotology ) The only thing that was a little crazy was registration. I was so out of wack I didn't know what to do! ( lol ) However this was the first time I registered or even went to this school. So I don't doubt that most of the confusion was more than likely in my own head being in a new school atmosphere and all. After I found my way around though it all wewnt very smoothly. Everyone there is so polite and well mannered. I'm glad to have chosen such a nice place to go to school. Also, they offer a very wide variety of classes. I was able to even get one of my classes on saturday morning. To me that's pretty cool.
...

I love Penn State for so many reasons. I started as a freshman there in 2006 and now I am halfway through my senior year and I am extremely sad and disappointed that I have to graduate and leave this place. Penn State is by far the best party school in the Northeast United States. In 2009 it was rated the number one party school in the country by Princeton Review. Penn State has an excellent football team with lots of tradition and the best College football coach in the country, Joe Paterno. Penn State is about more than partying and football though. They are also a very good academic college and last I checked the business school which I am a student at was ranked 16th in the country! They are also the best in the country for the fast growing field of supply chain which was actually created by Penn State. I would strongly recommend any young high school students trying to decide where to go to college to take a serious look at Penn State. You can't go wrong here.
...

I was a student at Ramapo College of NJ for the second 2 years of my college education. I was very displeased with all the difficulties I had while I was studying there. I was forced to conform to the Liberal views of the professors to get by with decent grades. It was disheartening that students are forced to be closed-minded to new things and only go with what the professors and school officals think. The education I got was based on the oppinions of those teaching me, not what was in the books or what I was supposed to be learning. I was very disappointed with my classroom time and the educational experience that I paid so much for....

The University of South Carolina was a great school for me. I just graduated in May 2009 with a nursing degree. My nursing program was great and really prepared my for my NCLEX exam which I took in June. The best part about the nursing program was the ability to have 4 different hospitals in which to do my clinicals. My professors were great and were really caring. Every hospital provided my with excellent experiences as well.

The best part about USC was the athletic programs. No matter what sport you enjoy watching, USC has them all. I loved going to the football games. The student section is amazing to be a part of. Basketball and baseball games are also great! The new baseball stadium is really something to see!

If you want to go to a school to receive a good education but also to enjoy the athletic programs they offer, then the University of South Carolina is the place for you to go!
...

starzz19190 says "Great school, Ghetto town" about East Carolina University

East carolina university is a great school, I went through the general education courses my first year and then switched to the art department and absolutely loved it. The teachers were knowledgeable and the course work was very relevant to the direction I was taking in the artist bachelor's I was trying to achieve. The campus is amazing and I felt like I got to know all of the professors on a personal and friendly level. Also they really work with people and students on the financial aid aspect of the university and the dorms aren't that bad either. The dorms and on-site dining are a great part of east carolina university, as well as the student union and the access to the events that east carolina puts on for its students. Greenville, north carolina (the town itself -outside of east carolina university) is a small tight knit community. The town is really acheiveing a great artist community and they are working on keeping the crime rate down and developing the "uptown" section of the community....
...

jellis23 says "Great place to transfer" about Bellevue University

Bellevue University is the best choice for someone who is planning on transferring and wants all their credits to be put to use. When i transfered there for a four year graduate degree i wasn't sure how my credits would be transfered. I have heard many horror stories of wasted money on classes because the college you transfer to doesn't accept them. Well that is not the case here. I transfered from a community college and the core requirements were taken care of and all i had to focus on was my requirments for my major. My friend who tranfered to the University of Nebraska Omaha didn't have the same fate and had to spend another year in school to graduate. While I am not an adult student many who are and want to complete schooling find Bellevue University very convineint. They now have trimesters which makes completing school that much faster. The only problems Bellevue University runs into is sometimes they can be slow with financial aid but it is a small price compared...
...
