Canon CanoScan CS4400F Flatbed Scanner is a very good product. Well, that should not be a surprise because Canon makes great things. I love the way it works once it is hooked up to your computer. It takes a little while to get the hang of it if you're not computer knowledgeable. I use a computer all the time but fancy and new things often take me more time then others. The design of this is tres chic and in my opinion somewhat unique. It's not big and bulky like some scanners can be and it doesn't take up a lot of needed space when you use it.
I really like the way that it scans photos, making them almost look life-like. It is easy to move if you have to and easy to carry too. It's not heavy like some scanners can be. I also like the fact that the price is fairly low when you compare it to others that can do the same thing. The book of instructions that comes with the scanner makes learning how to use it a breeze, even if you’re not computer literate. Cannon products...
...

dbm82 says "No complaints" about Canon CanoScan CS8800F Flatbed Scanner

I bought the Canon 8800f scanner for use at work. We chose this model based on the price and our familiarity with the Canon line of scanners after our previous Canon scanner became uncompatible with our new operating system around its sixth year in use. I have been using this one for about eight months and have had consistently excellent experiences. I tend to use the scanner with Adobe Acrobat rather than the proprietary software that comes with it, but in the few times I have tried it it has seemed pretty intuitive and works just fine. There are also a series of buttons on the top of the scanner that allow you to copy, scan photos or film, or create a file for emailing with just one click.

Perhaps the most important feature of this scanner is its ability to scan film negatives. This is why we chose this model. While I have not personally used it for this purpose, I have heard positive stories from my coworkers.

On a final note, the scanner, while larger than many on the market now, appears...
...

Umax's Astra 3400 is easy to use, but allows for an increase in complexity. If you want to just scan, you can easily do that, but you can also get creative with the program!

I've scanned in photos, documents for faxing, and items to be attached to emails. This product allows me to be as creative or as simple as I want.

<***** the programming that comes with the Astra 3400 and go as far as you want!

There are probably a few scanners better on the market, but for the price, this one is top drawer.
...

GigiandAdonai says "This has allowed my agency to go paperless." about Kodak i1220 Scanner

In December 2008 my agency went "paperless." We brought in five scanners and thru the course of 6 months we scanned thousands of client records. Before taking on this task the workers went thru a two day training process on how to use the scanners so that everything would go off smoothly. I was already familiar with the scanning process as I have a brother-in-law whose law firm went paperless a few years earlier and he was telling me how wonderful this was going to be for us.

My agency is taking baby steps to reach the 2010 Initiative for the state. This will allow us to forward client files to workers in other counties and at other state agencies in a PDF. In the past we either had to copy all the paperwork and mail it or send the entire case record to the requesting third party on behalf of the client.

The Kodak i1220 Scanner has a whopping price tag of $929-1199 depending on if you can get it on sale. I believe we got a state agency discount because my county got five. ...
...

WHAT'S THE 411 ON THIS PRODUCT?

First, let me say that for 13 years, I've bought and owned no other printer or scanner that wasn't made by Hewlitt Packard! And during those 13 years, I thought that HP was one of the best products out there.

Not so now!! The HP printers - that is the 2 latest ones, and then the HP scanner have all stopped working!! Right after the waranties had expired!

WHY I'M SO ANGRY, FRUSTRATED & THROUGH WITH HP:

The HP scanner that was in use or supposedly was in use, had stopped working, mainly because the software is not compatable with Windows Vista. When I called them to ask about it. they told me that since the scanner is no longer in production, that there is no updated software for it that would be compatable with Windows Vista, and that if there were, it would cost me about $80 or so!!

Then they told me that they could help me get the scanner working again, but said that they'd charge me $59.00 to do it!! I'm not paying that!!!!! That's when I decided...
...

The fi-6670 Image Scanner from Fujitsu is a high-end business scanner ($3,000) and well worth the money for medium-sized businesses or departments within larger businesses. I am amazed at how easy it was to set up and start using a major piece of equipment like this.

Once you have hooked it up to your network, you really can just pop your documents on the feeder and push the button-- image quality is automatically adjusted, blank pages are stripped out, and slightly cockeyed documents are straightened out in the scan. The scanning speed is fast, and the scanner can take both sides of the page in one pass.

You can learn more about the fi-6670's features from Fujitsu's website (http://www.fujitsu.com/global/services/computing/peripheral/scanners/product/fi6670/feature.html) but the major benefits of this scanner for us were:

Included Adobe Acrobat software

Has imprinter, so you can print a date on each article after scanning it

SCSI and USB ports for flexible connectivity

I purchased the Canon 8800F as a refurbished product from Canon's estore. The product came in only two day with free shipping and included everything I needed to set it up including cords and software. It came with Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0 for Windows and 4.0 for Mac and ArcSoft Photostudio 5.5 along with the installation and organizational software. The scanner looked brand new even though refurbished, but the warranty is for 90 days instead of one year.

It does a good job scanning negatives, slides and prints, along with office print scans. It comes with adapters for 35mm film, 35mm mounted slides, and medium format film strips. I have also experimented with 110 by laying the film on the glass and using the 35mm film adapter and additional handmade masks, and have had some success with trial and error. The scanner is easy to use in the basic modes, though, to achieve the highest quality for photos I have had to experiment with the adjustments. I wish it came with the...
...

I have this scanner at my desk at work. It is very easy to use, comes with great software, and has consistenly given me a clear scan (unlike a previous model we used to buy). The only con to this product is that it takes up quite a bit of space. It is fine at work because I have a huge desk... but I still do get the urge to put things on top of it when not in use. At home it would not work because I am begging for space, I would end up either resenting it for taking up my space or breaking it by abesntmindedly storing things on top....

I've only ever trusted Lexmark printers- True, I'm the only person I know that flaunts that, but then again I'm the only person I know with a printer that does exactly what I want (I'm a graphics college student so only the best will do), when I want (like at finals' crunch time), in plain English, on the first try. Add to it that it's an All-In-One, what more could you want? I can honestly say, I've never had a problem with a Lexmark- at least that hasn't been the result of my little sister fooling around. ^^'

P.S.- Inkjets are also more environment-friendly than laser, as the ink cartridges can be recycled. =)
...

I bought my Lexmark 1200 about a year ago, and it's been sitting in it's original box for about the last 7 months. We used it a few times for regular paperwork, no big images or anything. It is very inexpensive, and as soon as you use it, it's painfully obvious why. It's clumsy, flimsy, and the ink ran out on us within the first month of owning it, and that's without daily printing.

I am currently using an all-in-one printer from Epson, and the ink lasts longer, the print quality is amazing, and the options are way better. I spent about $100 on the Epson, and about $25 on the Lexmark, and even though money is not always a constant, I still wouldn't consider buying a Lexmark again, especially not if it's "on sale".
...

This scanner was easy to set up with USB plug in. Came with some nice software, and does a great job of scanning all media described. It is simple enough to use that even old folks like me can do it. The scanned images come out very nicely and are automatically saved wherever told to do so.

So far I have no complaints or criticism. The price was perfect, not cheap but not extravagantly expensive either. I have recommended it to anyone who had boxes of old pictures, slides and negatives as I did who wants to share and save them without breaking their bank account.
...

Armyoffive4God says "You get what you pay for!" about Lexmark lexmark1200 series

I got the Lexmark 1240 in October, to replace a brand new HP that wasn't working. While I love the Lexmark brand, I'm not thrilled with this printer. When I scan, it squeaks. It has had it's share of jammed paper, prints lines (even after aligning), and is just not my fave printer overall. I bought the Lexmark as the printer I had before (& LOVED) was a Lexie as well. My next purchase may or may not be a Lexie. This one has definitely made me think my loyalty. I guess you get what you pay for, even with a good name....

dexdax says "Worth buying" about Visioneer Strobe XP200

The Visioneer Strobe XP200 is a good scanner for the price. It is also compact, fitting nicely on your desktop. There are a few problems with the scanner "freezing". A reset of the computer usually takes care of the problem. Imaging and resolution is adequate. The reviewer has used this scanner at work as an office tool. Several pages are scanned each day. Although, scanning is primarily documents, some color maps, photos and documents have been scanned with the device with good results. The PaperPort software sold with the scanner is easy to use and allows for just about any type of editing necessary. The software also allows for scanned documents to be saved in most of the poplar file formats. I am pleased with the purchase and would recommend the product....
