— To the PointMy husband has never been able to get used to using the touch pads on the computer rather than a mouse. I'm quite proficient at the touch pads and prefer them over a mouse but in comes the Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse Model Number 3000. He loves it.
The Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 5000 is easy to use and works well. The set-up process might be challenging for some, but if you've used the technology before, it'll be easy enough. The wheel and additional buttons are a bonus, but the mouse does lack some of the added versatility of, say, a mouse that can be switched to presentation mode. If you only need a standard PC mouse to make life easier on your laptop, this is an excellent...

When it comes to computers and technology, I am the opposite of an early adopter. I'm more of a late bloomer. It's not that I'm resistant to all of the wonderful things that technology can accomplish; rather, I'm resistant to being a guinea pig who is stuck with all the glitches. For example, I tried upgrading to Windows Vista only to have to downgrade back to XP because it was so buggy. My tech savvy husband convinced me that I ought to give the Microsoft Optical Desktop with Fingerprint Reader a try. So I did, but with mixed results. The multimedia keyboard is, at first glance, very similar to keyboards I've previously used. The biggest difference is that on the left-hand side you'll notice a bright red oval with a mysterious glow. That is the fingerprint reader where you place your finger to access your stored password. In addition to the fingerprint reader, there are also keys to launch frequently used Windows programs (My...

This one may go by several names. At Office Depot it's a Microsoft® Wireless Optical Desktop. At Best Buy it's a Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop 1000. I'm just going by the name Microsoft gives it. Comparing prices, Office Depot wins. — Buttons across the top are: My Documents, My Pictures, My Music, a Mute button, Media, (opens Media Player) Mail, (opens Outlook Express or your choice of email options.) Web/Home, (opens your home page) and Messenger. To the far right are Calculator, Log Off, and Sleep buttons. While playing music, you can go to the next track, the previous track, pause, stop, volume up or down. A CD need not be playing to go to the next track as with some cheaper keyboards. It'll do it with your stored music as well. — I've found the batteries (four AAs...not included) will last anywhere from 4 to 6 months. Not too bad. If you have a Walgreens close by, try their own brand of alkaline...

Kibitzer says "Mighty Mouse To Save The Day" about Apple Mighty Mouse

Just as Mighty Mouse saved the day back in the golden years of cartoons, Apple's Mighty Mouse will save your day with its ease of use with your Apple computer. Bluetooth enabled, no longer is your mouse tied to a wire and with its mini-track ball, you can navigate pages and content with a slide of the tip of your finger. The only complaint as a track ball lover, the mini-back only scrolls up and down and does not have the full mouse moving capability of a true track ball. On the whole, it liberates you from your computer desk and allows you, with the Apple Wireless Keyboard, to control your computer from anywhere in the room. As William Wallace said in "Braveheart", "Freedom!" — — —...

When typing started to hurt...... — After a year of writing full-time, my right hand started to hurt pretty bad. My little touch pad was forcing my right hand to make small, repetitive motions and I'd go through whole days with one very cramped, sore hand that was achy. I saw the writing on the wall and started to worry. — After I bought some voice-recognition software (less typing means less pain), a friend recommended I look into wireless mice. She said that getting away from my notebook's tiny touch pad would help uncurl my hand, and a wireless mouse could easily pack and go with me to hotel rooms wherever I was on assignment. — I felt them all...... — I went to Staples, and rested my hand on all the wireless mice. The one that felt the best was Logitech's LX 8. The wireless receiver plugs right into my USB jack and the mouse started working without having to install any drivers.......a plus. ...

Begrudgingly, I finally have up on my old worn-out keyboard, and accepted the The Logitech Access Keyboard from a friend as a birthday present. To be sure, I was glad to be getting this new keyboard, but me and the old one had a lot of memories together. Now I was being thrust into the technological age of the 21st Century whether I liked it or not. Well I do like it, and I am glad that I was given this gift, because not only has it helped out my typing, but the mere appearance of this sleek new keyboard probably raised the value of my desk hundreds of dollars. Or maybe that is just what I wished after seeing how good it looked. Regardless of value though, this keyboard as been very helpful to me, and I find it much more enjoyable to type with a fully-functioning keyboard. The Logitech Access Keyboard came in a nice gray color, with the normal set-up with the letter, number and additional keys surrounding said letters. At the top left of the keyboard, we have a few of the extra...

I developed an RSI about eight months ago and, to be honest, I'm surprised it took so long to happen. I spend many, many hours a day at the keyboard, and many many hours mousing around. Luckily, through the wonders of chiropractic, I've got my injury under control. I have had to make some life changes, though. — The most recent change I've made, on the advice of a professional ergonomic assessment expert and physical therapist, is the switch from a traditional mouse to the Countour RollerMouse Pro. — What, exactly, is it??? — Ok, the RollerMouse Pro is basically a tray with a built-in wrist pad. My keyboard sits on top of it. The great thing about it, the really revolutionary thing, is that it makes a mouse or trackball obsolete. — There's a rod that runs the width of the wrist pad. The typist moves this rob back and forth and up and down - using thumb, or any finger, of either hand - to mouse. In effect, the entire tray is one, big mouse. ...

I have always like the quality put into every Logitech product and this is no exception to that feeling. So when my corded mouse started acting erratic with my laptop I needed to find another mouse. My old one still works good but the laptop case has gotten shiny and the old red laser on my old Logitech just doesn't want to work on it. So I put it on my desktop and replaced it with this new Logitech LX7 "Invisible" Optic Mouse — — Logitech LX7 Invisible Optic Mouse — — I am not sure what the difference is with this being an Invisible optic mouse other than you can't see a red light on the bottom of it...lol Anyway this is a normal sized mouse with no cord to get in the way. It does come with a Docking Stand that plugs into your USB port and then you can plug the little receiver into it or you can plug the USB Receiver directly into your computer. It depends on what your choice or situation is as to which way you do it. The box also contains an...

I recently purchased a laptop computer, and one thing I hate more than anything is using touch-pads. I simply suck when it comes to touch-pads. They annoy me, they bother me, they are glitchy to me. Or...maybe I am just used to using a mouse on my work desktop computer. — Either way though, when I got the new laptop, I wanted a wireless mouse to go with it. No wires, no touch-pads, just ease of use. — Finding the Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse has been a laptop blessing ever since. — Installation was a freaking breeze. All I had to do was pop in the included USB hub stick into an available USB, and immediately my laptop recognized it and installed it for me. No user interactions or commands were needed. — Once it was recognized, I was on my way to using the mouse. I was surprised at how fast everything was up and running. I figured I would have to install it manually. Everything though was plug and play. Which is great for those who are not very computer...

m2jason says "Aptly named!" about Apple Mighty Mouse

This is a great step forward for Macs. Simple, easy to use software makes this mouse virtually endlessly versatile. The addition of not only a right button on the mouse, but a scroll wheel and side buttons allow you to manipulate various Finder based features, as well as many other software specific features. Though arguably long over due, these features are done in true Apple form - simple and elegant. Add in a 360 degree scroll wheel at your finger tips and you have one of the most versatile mice on the market. — —

One of my favorite features of this peripheral is the ability to use only one battery. This is fantastic - I use rechargeable batteries in mine and this feature gives me the ability to charge one while continuing to work. — —

A great overall device - well worth the price for the features and versatility. — —...

Microsoft's 6000 wireless mouse has been overall a very convenient replacement of our old wired mouse. It has been especially good for a lefty like me who always used to struggle with moving the cord around.
