I have went through 2 of these modems in the past 9 months. They are just a waste of money. There is no warranty on them. They work great and are easy to install but be prepared to buy a new one every year, at least. I have now learned my lesson and bought a little more expensive one and it comes with a warranty....

Apple always delivers on its claims… the public might not always agree, but products ALWAYS deliver! I have used the Airport Extreme Router since January and it is faultless and efficient, stable and reliable on both 2.4GHz & 5GHz settings. I use PCs and Macs on my home network in a large soviet-type building with super thick concrete walls. I use an old PowerMac G4 500 server upgraded to 1.24GHz with 270GGB storage, 128GB graphics card and cable ethernet from the router. The other is a MacBook Pro 2.4GHz, 17" hi-res screen (1920 x 1200) 160GB HD and Extreme Airport card built-in. ...

I recently purchased this router for my new laptop. It works great. I haven't had any problems and the set up was a breeze. I am a stay at home Mom that is going back to school and I have about 12 years of computer experience. That is that I have been using computers for that long, certainly not working on them. I got this item at Best Buy for $45. — The one think that I would like to point out that you may not hear from your local Best Buy employee, (however mine was nice enough to remind me of this), is that you MUST set up an encrypted password or anyone in your area has the potential to log on to your network. This was a little challenging but I eventually figured it out by going right to the netgear website. — One last note is that I was going to go with a router with the "N" on the box (it was more expensive and had some extra features) and was told that the routers with the "N" on them where for multiple users and generally for the high end laptops (meaning...

The WRT54GS Wireless Router is fairly easy to setup, even for a "newbie", however, the security settings can be a little daunting at first. If you simply follow the instructions, use Linksys' recommendations relating to security settings, etc...you should be up and running with very little effort. — — DHCP setup is straight-forward for PCs and assigned IPs are no problem either. I have a mix of Unix and PCs running on my internal network and have not encountered any issues to date.If you have problems with signal strength, try reorienting/relocating the unit, even a little, as any wireless signal may be masked by the construction of your building. — — TIP: Make sure you block incoming ports, using the units built-in firewall capabilites, to further protect your system(s)....

Just yesterday I reviewed Verizon's Wireless Broadband service. In a nutshell, I like it. It free's me to connect to the Internet pretty much wherever and whenever I want and I pay $59.99 a month for the service. — — Of course, to connect to the service you need a special modem. Verizon gives you some alternatives. you can connect with either a PC Card or an Express Card Modem. Verizon offer's them on their web-site for $99.99 with a $50 instant rebate. So, you're looking at a net price of $49. Not bad. Or, you can purchase a USB modem like the Verizon Wireless USB720 EVDO Rev A USB Modem which at the time of my purchase was $49.99 with a $49.99 instant rebate. Net, net, it was free. Hard to argue with free, so I guess you know the road I chose to travel. — — What I Like — Well, I already told you it was free and since I haven't changed my view in the last few seconds, I'm kind of fond of free. — — The modem seems well constructed...

I used to have a Linksys wireless router on my PC, and I had to reset it all the time. It was complicated to set up, and hardly ever worked properly. — I finally became fed up and bought the Apple Airport Extreme. I am well aware of Apple's reputation for excellence, so there was really no question about what I was going to buy. And to seal the deal, it's PC compatible and so user friendly, it only took about 10 minutes to set up. The only problem I have now is with my cable/internet company! — Sure, Apple products are more expensive, but they're more reliable, durable and will last long after their PC competition becomes obsolete. It's more money up front, but less expensive in the long run....

I travel extensively all across the US and have found the quality and availability of Verizon data and voice service to be superior to all others (including the beaches on Kauai), with similar costs for similar levels of service. The AC595, with appropriate firmware revisions and where provided by the Verizon Network, supports EVDO Rev A which significantly increases throughput on their national broadband network. At $60/month for unlimited use (with some restrictions in the small print) this card/service is ideal for anyone needing mobile coverage and typical Internet access for email, research, and all but the most intensive of applications such as streaming video or routine transfer of very large files. While it may not compete speedwise with a cable modem, you can't take a cable modem with you! If you consider the cost of Internet access in many hotels is $10/day, you don't have to be on the road much to recover the cost of this service. It...
