kdburrrose says "Good job HP!" about Hewlett Packard Pavilion TX1210US Laptop

I was very impressed with the standard warranty and the service provided by Compaq ( Hewlettpackard). I had a defective power supply and after 11 mo of faithful service I found my laptop dead in the water. After some searching I found the original receipt and the warranty info, with one redirected call and a 2-3 minute wait I found myself talking to a live person who, after a few questions had a replacement power supply unit in the mail completely free of charge. I received the unit 4 days later and my laptop is up and running. Very well done, I will continue to patronize Hewlett packard products in the...

tanya26847 says "Don't bother wasting your money" about Toshiba A215-S6804

I purchased my Toshiba Satellite A215-S6804 laptop from a home shopping network at their online website. The flex pay option was the main reason why I purchased this particular item. I could not afford to put all the expense of a laptop on my credit card at once. — When I first opened up the package, it was easy to figure out where the adapter went. Once I charged up the laptop, I proceeded to explore what it had to offer. On the wallpaper screen, there was about 25 icons already installed on it. These offers are mainly short term free trials that try to get you enticed to buy their service or product. — The screen resolution is crisp and clear. The sound is nice and clear. The outside of the laptop is a shiny black that gets dirty and dusty in a hurry, but it looks sleek. It is very hard to figure out how to actually turn the computer on. — While using this laptop, it shuts itself off at anytime. You have no warning, so you must constantly save work...

I have been a loyal Dell customer for years, but in the last year I've had nothing but shipping problems. In just the last year I've purchased a new dev laptop for myself, Purolator lost it. Purchased a new gaming laptop for my kid for christmas, Purolator misdirected it. Purchased a new desktop system , Purolator misdirected it. Purchased a new LCD TV, Purolator totally lost it and still hasn't found it. — — Dell products are fine, but shipping is unbelievably poor. Purolator will lie to you, will misdirect your shipment and possibly may even lose it. Not recommended till there is another option for shipping than...

I'm no computer pro, but I did my homework on this laptop, and it paid off. In general, it's fast, which is great when you're multi-tasking. I use this in classes (I'm a professional student by this point) and both the keyboard and the fan are quite quiet. You'll never get an absolutely silent machine (you can tell when it's getting its exercise) but this one is pretty close. — Vista is fine, in general. I haven't had too many problems. I've gotten a "blue screen" a couple times, but whenever I restart the computer following that, it's fine. The fingerprint reader (cool but unnecessary) gives me problems now and then; it erased my fingerprints one time; it was fine because you can get on with either a password or a fingerprint. — In general, very sleek-looking computer with great functionality (and great wireless card!) —...

missbooboo212 says "Perfect computer for creative minds" about Apple MacBook Notebook

I chose a mac because I was really impressed with the ilife suite that came standard. I can create my own movies in imovie, burn them to disk in idvd, and watch them right on my mac as well! Our kids enjoy spending hours creating funny photos of themselves in photobooth, and the isight camera was already built right in, so I didn't have to go out and buy another device to hook up. I like to keep things simple, and mac does this for me. The design is simple, and it wasn't too hard to figure out how to do what I wanted to do in the applications. Another huge bonus for me was the parental controls. I control what sites my kids visit, and I can even set a time range for when their user is allowed to be signed...

The Apple MacBook Notebook is by far a superior computer to any PC I have ever used. The Mac products in general are intiutive and user-friendly. — — The built in iSight has definitely been a great benefit to purchasing this computer. There are not additional cables or hardware that needs to be connected to connected to communicate by video with this computer. — — I would highly recommend anyone in need of a new computer to seriously consider a Mac...

I was a little dismayed when I brought my laptop home, opened the box, and realized that I did not have a memory card reader installed...but other than that, I have been very happy with my purchase! There is a large storage capacity for my needs...lots of pictures and TONS of music! I have yet to run out of room; with my previous computer (a Dell desktop) I ran out of memory with less than what I have already put on my Toshiba. I take it everywhere...it has saved me on business trips (instant movies on Netflix!). It is a little on the heavier side, I must admit, but the screen is a nice size. Overall, I'm a "happy laptopper."...

My husband and I bought matching Acer Aspire 368-2682 laptops in October 2007. I am on mine now, typing this. They have been good, durable computers, and can do all of the basic computing one would need. Just about anyone wanting to surf the net, email or chat, would really enjoy this laptop. — There are a few drawbacks to this computer: — They are a bit limited in the graphics area, and can't run very many "graphic intense" games. — They are lacking enough memory to run some of the functions of even BASIC programs, (so we installed a memory upgrade). — There seems to be a "glitch" in the internet connection. I can be on the internet, and a second later, my connection is gone. I am a computer tech, and have ruled out the wireless network card, because it does the same thing using an alternate. It seems to be something inside Vista or something that triggers this, and it doesn't work again until the computer is fully restarted. This is the most annoying problem,...
