elliot0214 says "This laptop is awesome, compact, reliable and comfortable." about Acer One Aspire

The Acer One Aspire is a very compact, lightweight and comfortable computer. It is fast for a laptop, has an Inter proccesor and one gyga byte of Ram. The model I have has an extended battery and one hundred gyga bytes of hard disk. It is black, and has also three usb ports, integrated WIFI and a VGA port. It does not come with a cd or dvd drive, but a usb drive can be adapted, or additional software can be installed via a usb pen drive.

This computer is very reliable and useful for the on the road technician or pc warrior. It can be easily hidden under the seat so as not to attract a burglar, and with the extended battery you can have around five hours of use without the need to recharge. So many of these have been sold that parts is not an issue in the occurence of repair. But if taken good care of and with regular DIY maintenance ir should last its regulat life. Make sure that all software you install is purchased properly to avoid viruses and malware. It comes with a MCCafee trial...
...

I just received my Dell Inspiron laptop and LOVE it. I was concerned I would have trouble with Vista but it seemed very intuitive to use, I feel, based on my "computer literate" status. I am no geek but can get my way around the internet and basic home use software. The only negative I can mention is the glossy screen. I had read various reviews and this type of screen is supposed to have better resolution but ambient lighting can really effect viewing that nice resolution! Upon ordering on the Dell website I could pick and choose what I wanted for my computer like memory and RAM ......and.....my purple cover!
...

My husband and I have had the Inspiron 8200 for just over 5 years, and it's still going strong! It is a pretty basic laptop, but perfect for everyday use going on the internet, downloading and playing music, etc. The laptop itself is quite bulky and heavy, but considering how old it is, what else would you expect! This computer is very durable as well. I can't count how many times we've dropped it and nothing turns out wrong with it, not even a mark on it to show how it landed. Two years ago we must have had a virus because we went to turn it on one day, and all it showed was a black screen. We called Dell, and they were very quick in sending us a new hardrive. A result of that, is that we lost everything.. documetns, songs and most importantly pictures.. including ones from our wedding. Since then nothing major has happened to the computer. Another con I can think of is how hot it gets underneath, too the point you can't be wearing shorts and have it on your lap! All...
...

This has been a great laptop with very few problems. My main complaint is that at one point HP had a recall and they needed to fix something on my laptop after windows did an update that left something on my HP hardware incompatible. Yes, I was grateful HP was willing ot fix it for free since it was technically past the warranty date, but I had to mail them my laptop (my only computer) and they said it would be gone for 2-3 weeks and that they would wipe the hard drive clean and restore it to its original state. I had to buy an external hard drive and wait to send it in until I was leaving on a trip over Christmas so I could afford to be without a computer for several weeks. I was disappointed with their customer service. The other problem I've found is that anytime iTunes wants to update itself it erases my DVD drive. It happened enough that I figured out with the online support system how to restore it. Now I can go in and do it myself easily, but its still a pain. I don't know if any...
...

In the three years I've had my 15" MacBook Pro I've had very few problems great Apple support and amazing success turning simple pictures into fabulous iphoto presentations or using ichat to talk with friends around the world. The drag and drop platform simplifies all of the things I used to do on my PC and the built-in applications, like Front Row (perfect for viewing your DVDs/music or the latest movie previews) and Dashboard (where you can catch up on the latest news/games through your widgets) make it so fun to use! I was able to adapt to the mac versions of the Microsoft Office programs very easily and things really are simple to figure out with the MacBook Pro.
...

My HP pavilion entertainment notebook offers the best of both worlds. As a non techie it's simple and easy to use when it comes to the DVD burner and CD burner. It works great with I-Tunes and the screen is great for playing movies. The computer comes with HP mediasmart, which launches DvD's, videos, music and photos with a remote that slides and locks into the computer. This computer is fast, functional and a breeze to use. Some other great applications include an Intel Graphics media accelerator that can get up to 1759MB of total video memory (great for those home videos) and the editing software allows you to not only add music and graphics to your home videos but it also allows you to edit like a pro. The sound is great and one doesn't need additional speakers for volume control. Overall not being a "techie" this computer gets rave reviews from not only me but those who use it as well.
...

kaptainsleek says "Great" about Sony VGN-N21S/W

In terms of performance, the N21S/W is let down somewhat. The main problem is being the amount of installed memory, which is onlg 1GB. When running vista, this is simply not enough. The machine seems to take an age to boot up, and loading applications takes much longer than it should. Even when you disable many of Vista's memory consuming features, the laptop still runs slowly. As proof of this, I recently upgraded to 2BG of ram, and the difference is astounding. With more memory, you are able to make the most of all the other components too, i.e. the CPU which was previously limited by the lack of memory.

If you are looking to play games on this laptop, I must advise against it. The in built graphics chip will not support many games, and if it does, they will run poorly. This laptop then, is mainly for work related uses and internet surfing. There is plenty of hard drive space available, and the processor is quick......

The Dell Inspiron 1300 is not a good laptop for the prices that Dell would charge. The battery charger that it comes with does not always fit, you have to wiggle it around to make it work most of the time. It has a very bad cooling system so that the laptop overheats quite often. I even bought a cooler for the laptop which has not added very much help to it. If it didn't come with a wireless card it will cost you another $300 to $400 dollars to get the correct one. To replace the failing battery charger with another one it will cost you close to $100 to replace. Most of the ratings and reviews are poor therefore making it a horrible buy.
...

I have received my Sony Vaio VGN N120G roughly about two years ago as a gift. It has a nice look to it, it's a 15 inch, white at the top, silver at the bottom with light gray keys. At first, it was okay, it didn't have great specs, but it's useful. You can browse the internet, listen to music, the volume isn't as loud as I wanted it to be, thought, the graphics is just okay. As for gaming, it's not superb, but it'll get you through it, though you cannot play certain games like counter-strike because the video card wasn't compatible. After nearly a year of usage, it started to go nuts on me. My C drive was totally messed up. As I reboot it, my C drive wouldn't fully restore, I'm missing a My Video folders. It crashes really often. It lags constantly, and there are alot of programs that no longer want to work for me. My cd drive doesn't even work. I don't even know what happened to it, it just stopped working for me one day. It won't read cds, and when I try to burn one, it messes up my blank...
...

MSI windbook is an ultraportable laptop. I bought this laptop from Microcenter for 300 dollars. I have owned it for more than 2 months and there are not any problems with it. It comes with all the functions you need - wifi, built in webcam, 3 usb ports, built-in sd/xd card reader, ethernet, and 10.1' wide screen. It comes with atom 1.6Mhz processor which provides sufficient power for any computational tasks except maybe gaming and graphics rendering. I am so happy that I bought this laptop. I stopped using my old desktop after I had this laptop. Since it's as fast and reliable as my Desktop computer except it generates less heat and fan noise.

It's not just a "netbook" as some people call it. It comes with 160GB hard drive. And it has a 10'' screen with 1024x600 resolution.

When I bought it I chose the one with 3 cell battery, which lasts for a little over 2 hours. For 20 bux more you can get the same laptop with 6 cell battery- twice the capacity. Longer battery life is...
...

I have been having lots of ordeals with lap tops recently. I had been using someone elses for quite a while, then I got my own that turned out to be a lemon, then I had the opportunity to try a couple of different lap tops, I finally have one that is mine and is for keeps, I hope.

One of the lap tops I got to try was a Compaq Presario CQ60-206US Notebook. The Compaq Presario CQ60-206US Notebook is a reasonably priced lap top, it is not the cheapest lap top out there, but it is one of the lesser priced ones.

It has a long keyboard and long screen. I kind of liked that, but it might be a bit difficult for those who take their lap top on the run all the time, and want to work on trains or something like that. I found the key board stretch to be very comfortable.

i purchase my macbook during the day of my birthday, and i must say, this is the best and worthy product that i ever purchased. the macbook comes in about 6 models, depending if you are a gamer, i recommend u a macbook pro. but the awesomeness of this product is that any game you install will still work great. i have a 2.4 ghz, 250gb drive, alluminium unibody, 14 inch and best of all the latest graphic from nvidia. whats cool about a mac is that you dont have to spent a dime for any antivirus programs, because macs resistant to viruses. the alluminium body make the macbook durable. its very rare to get a scracth on that solid thing. the 2.4ghz model has the backlit keyboard which means you can work in a dark room and still see what your typing. the trackpad is unbelievable, and once you get used it, you will love it.

As the economy is getting worse by day, we need a labtop that works well and can endure through... at least 3 years. (Considering the price and all the different other types you can choose from while prices drop)

I first fell in love with these labtops after the commercials-- of all the colors. I bought a Pink Dell inspiron 1521 immediately after a couple weeks. When it came, everyone loved it. I mean, labtop with style... there was color on it! And then my two older sisters were jealous and insisted on getting their own-- midnight red and yellow. We thought we got good deals. 3 labtops at 800 $ each. Something to showoff. yenno?

Then the problems started after half a year. My very own pink dell... I pressed the power button and nothing came out. I put it at an...
...

I have tried various brands of laptop computers, all of which have failed me. But HP has computers like no other. Such as this one. In addition to the on-screen controls, this laptop has controls directly on the keyboard for the volume and for the DVD player which is very convenient. The processor is very fast and with the widescreen and remote control, your DVD watching experience is up close and personal. It is very simple to complete documents and PowerPoint tasks and using the Internet is an enhanced experience.
...

This is almost always virus proof so you wont have to worry about that.
kelebek1993 says "My Acer is a good buy for the price" about Acer aspire 5515

We bought the Acer from Best Buy and it came with a digital mouse and a computer bag. We got it all for under $400.00. It has a 3 GB memory and a built in Webcam. The webcam has a very clear picture and comes in handy when we want to keep in touch with our relatives that live abroad. It's not a heavy laptop and so far I've had good luck with it. The battery only lasts for about two hours...that can be annoying at times but for the price it's duable. You don't hear of people buying Acer's as much as the other brands such as Hewlett-Packard, Toshiba or Dell. But for the price I believe it's a good buy. When we bought this laptop, it was because our Dell laptop that we've had for four years died on us. My husband rushed to the store to get us a new laptop cause we use our laptop constantly. That is how we catch up on our international news and watch shows in Turkish. We couldn't spend that much so my husband found the Acer and we were very happy with the purhase. All...
...
