CecilyIsabella says "average- not below, not above" about Dell Dell Inspiron 15

My mom bought the Dell Inspiron 15 back in March of this year[2009]. Both her and I are the main users of it and both of us have noticed some good things and bad things about this laptop. It is a bit on the heavyside which can take a toll on your back if your lugging it around in a case for work or college. When you use the "mouse board" it sometimes does actions that you didn't even do for example: open a new tab, zoom in or out of the screen, exit the page you were on- which results in losing everything you were doing, or opening sites you did not click to open. Also, the battery life is not very long. I had it plugged up to charge for several hours and only got a forty-five minute use out of it befor I had to plug the charger in because the battery was dying. A few positive things are that the wi-fi internet connection is very strong. Also, the screen is very bright and vibrant and is really a joy to watch movies on. Overall it's about average luck I've had with laptops.
...

gsquared says "Best Computer I have Owned" about Apple mac os x

This is my third Mac...my first way back in college. Of course, being in education, most of the computers in the classrooms/computer labs were Macs until recently. I had a MacBook Pro just prior to the one I am on now. I am not a professional so the MacBook Pro had too much graphical power for what I needed. I paid for more than I would ever use. I purchased the MacBook in May and have never been happier.

I am just moving to the new operating system, Leopard, which I have not installed so I can not tell you about that. It is supposed to simplify things as opposed to make them more challenging.

I have both Mac products and Microsoft products on my computer. I suppose I do this for comfort. However, I did invest in the One-To-One Program and have learned more about the Mac products that parallel those of Microsofts...Pages vs. Word; Numbers vs. Excell. I have found that these programs are more user friendly than those of Microsoft's. It just took the investment of a couple of classes to...
...

Purchased the Toshiba Sattelite L505 from Office Depot before Windows 7 was released. Toshiba sent the upgrade swiftly and at no cost to me. I was not entirely happy with Vista's performance on the laptop, though I can't say that I've yet found a computer running Vista that I've been thrilled with. As such, I loaded a copy of Ubuntu onto it, and it runs great! The onboard video drivers run the highest quality effects, and the machine is definitely powerful enough to run Windows games and programs under emulation (with WINE). Physically, the laptop is constructed well, and battery life isn't an issue (goes about 3.5 hours on battery, and I know Linux isn't the best with battery life). As a side note, I have also run the Windows 7 RC on this, and was pleased with it's performance as well, although I prefer Linux. All in all, I rated this 4 out of 5 only because a slightly longer battery life would be nice :)
...

I bought a belkin wireless router for my sons computer so i did not have t pay the cable company extra money to hook up another computer it works great I also have a computer up staires in the house and found it also works there just plug the usb router in and your online all you have to do is run the software and plug the router in your computer> I had to call belkin once to set the computer and the belkin on my sons computer I was able to to the computer upstaires myself. I would recomend belkin wireless router to any one having more than one computer in the house it cost me around $60.00 the cable company wanted to charge $9.00 a month to rent there equiptment.there are no extra wires that need to be hooked up with the other computers. Ther are 3 different router the range on them is different i have the n router because i needed it to go upstares it has the longer range to it. If you need a shorter range the cost is a little less than $60.00. be will work just as good.
...

The Dell Inspirion I purchased has been the best computer that I have owned, and I have owned several. Mine is a laptop in candy apple red and it is small enough to fit on the corner of my desk. I appreciate the portability of it as it can be fitted into a briefcase with ease. Dell has also allowed for the personilization of the laptop with the color design. The screen is very easy to view and that includes media of all types. There is enough room to type as the keyboard is very accomodating for my fingers. It has all the basic features of a computer. What I love most about it is the sleep and hibernate modes instead of actually turning the machine off. I have the built in web cam too which is nice. No clunky media to add to the unit. The volume control is sufficient and the computer can be heard throughout my house when I have the media jukebox turned on. The only complaint I have in regards to the entire setup that I have is that the printer uses a lot of ink. But...
...

lordkid says "It's fast and reliable." about Apple Mac Book Pro

What Can I say? This laptop is simply amazing. First, you should consider the looks. Though this is not important, it is simply stunning. Next, we go to speed. With 4 gigabytes of RAM, there is simply nothing putting the brakes on this laptop. Also beneficial is the built in airport, which allows you to connect to wireless internet. The fact that it has many usb ports, Ethernet ports, fire wire ports and an sd card reader built in allows you to connect media devices and to stay connected to your pictures, video and music. Probably the best thing about this computer is the Leopard operating system. It runs smooth and does not freeze like Windows tends to. With it being a Mac, you have so many more programs available to you like keynote, iMovie, iDVD, iPhoto and pages, just to name a few. Also beneficial is the service. With the laptop being made by the same company as the operating system, if you have problems, you call the same lace for all of the issues.
...

I bought the Dell to replace my old laptop. I have had it now for about 3 months and I am still not sure I really like it.

It is definately not as user friendly as I was lead to believe. I have trouble with the mousepad on the unit and will probably end up using an external mouse. Does not run as fast as I thought it would either.

I designed the system with Dell to fit my needs, and they gave me what I asked for it just does not run as well or as fast as promised.. Slow to load, mouse gets confused and changes the size of the picture alot instead of just letting you move the mouse around to select where you are going.

I would probably go back to HP or Sony in the future.
...

All I can say is W-O-W. This laptop is insane!!! It's so nice to look at and the keys are easy to type with. I bought a protector for my key pad and it works great :) This is definitely a computer worth the money; my brother bought one for college and he loves it too. The mouse is a little bit different than what you're used to though- it has one big flat panel and one full bar (instead of two separate ones) to click with- but you get used to it quite quickly. AND the best part is that it even comes with a free printer (when they have a certain promotion/offer going, of course)! Overall, this laptop is definitely a keeper with its simple yet stylish design and its array of fantastic colors to choose from. The Apple team also assists you very nicely when choosing which computer is right for you :) Obviously, this Macbook is P-E-R-F-E-C-T for me because it does exactly what I need in an easy-to-function way. DEFINITELY recommended!!!
...

great printer, super affordable, I would make the ink last a bit longer though - or make it less expensive.

I love my pampered chef rice maker - haven't used recently - but when i do use it the rice is perfect everytime. I am one of those people who really cares about saving money and providing for my family! This is a product that will help you do that. You don't have to have a family either to appreciate this product. It is readily found at most local stores, sometime on ebay, and you can order from most retail locations. It would silly not to enjoy the savings and convience of this item! Definitely a must for every home, apartment, condo, etc. I have been using this product for years. I was not always cost concious - however, it was the best price and the time and continues to be the best price today. Especially with our economy where it is, everyone needs to find products that can save them money and remain dependable. Because i have a family i am always concerned with how my purchases...
...

Great for first time users on MACs, provides an easy learning experience to the operating software, although kind of slow its fast comparable to the start up time and standard operations of a PC for the same period. Kind of provides trouble by only accepting USB Keyboards and Mice instead of PS/2 Ports. The designs of mulitple colors provides for great personalization. As well as the different preloaded backgrounds. The preloaded software is also great comes with some great games, as well as basic Apple Software from Quicktime to MAC Messenger. The small, compact size of included the monitor and CPU within the same unit is a space saver compared to typical PCs that require space for the Display Monitor and CPU Tower. In addition to the saved space the compact size of one unit results in less cords and connections only one power cord to the unit and the two cords from the keyboard and mice. In addition, it provides a ethernet/networking port for possible internet connection.
...

A very nice product, good for everyday use for basic computer functions within the plam of your hand. Comparable to that of many functions from an Ipod Touch, it offers great WiFi connection with the ability to enable and disable WiFi connection to save power, as well as bluetooth and Ifra transfer. Offers the ability to change SD Cards allowing for unlimited amount of storage on mulitple cards, easy to load music, videos, & games. Quickly charges within an hour to an hour and half to full power, comes with the ability to charge an extra battery while charging the unit. You can record with the built in microphone something not offered with the Ipod Touch unless you get the adapter. As well as a good speaker and earphone connection. Overall a very good product for those looking for basic functions as internet/e-mail access, listening to music, viewing videos, and passing time by playing games such as preload ones from Solitare to Jawbreaker.
...

I have been using my VAIO SZ for about 4 years now. I dont play games or do anything too intensive on the computer. Photoshop is probably as hardcore as I get. So I think my computer is not as abused as others out there. So potential buyers, keep this in mind when I say that my VAIO SZ runs pretty smoothly and fast. My friend has a similar one and she really dislikes it because it hangs all the time. She was really disappointed because the laptop unit is so expensive! But then again, she drags her computer to class and plops it down every which way so that might be the reason why it hangs all the time. Mine will hand if it gets knocked particularly hard, but since I dont really take it around it does not bother me at all. I think though that if my dad did not buy this for me, I would not have gone out to get it myself simply because it is too expensive if your just an email/google/cnn person like myself.
...

I love my laptop. The price was right, and I though the laptop was great until it locked up almost every time I was using it. I could not complete a task on the computer without it locking up. I had the software reloaded, and it is doing great now!

The mouse pad is sometimes difficult to use. It takes some pressure to get the mouse to move.

Also, the laptop is ahrd to transport. I enjoy my large screen, but it is difficult to carry. The laptop is also pretty heavy to tote for long distances.

If you are picky about fingerprints, this may not be the laptop for you. The fingerprints are quite visible on the monitor frame, mouse pad, and other areas on the laptop. The laptop does come with a nice cloth to wipe the smudges and screen.

Overall, I enjoy the laptop, and I am satisfied with my decision. If you can find a good price on the laptop, I would suggest buying it!

The laptop has a wonderful bronze color which was one of the points that sold me!
...

Ok, I may not know everything bout this computer but I do know that I REALLY like it. It's a small laptop, small enough for me and my lap isn't quite as long. It's not like those tiny tiny laptops that practically fit in the palm of your hand. This laptop is extremely lightweight to where I can carry it with one hand. The screen is no overly huge either. I like it. I believe it's a 15" screen. It has several memory card slots, I'm still trying to figure out all of them, but I know for sure it has a SD slot. It also had 4 usb ports. I don't know what I'll do with 4 usb ports but I'm glad I have them all. It came with a DVD/CD burner. This laptop was made for use at work, and I can see why, it's user friendly, has several memory slots, several usb ports, perfect sized screen and extremely lightweight. Not to mention there is also space to add an extra battery which to my undersatnding will give it up to 8 hours of battery life. Not bad. I never used to like the mouse pads on laptop.. actually...
...

I travel a lot for my job. When I am at work I rely upon my docking station and my wired mouse. But with the power cord and brick, the removable disk drive (I have a tablet laptop and there just isn't room for a disc player), the charging cords for my black berry, cell phone and kindle, I just cant handle an more cords.

Enter the Microsoft Wireless Optical 3000 Wireless Mouse. I was skeptical that it would work. Would it roll, would I have to put my had at an odd angle to make sure the optical eye had the correct contact with its receiver... on and on I worried that this would be a disappointment and I would be stuck in track pad hell every time I traveled.

I was wrong. This wireless mouse is awesome. It comes with a receiver that you simply plug into your USB port and away you go. No software, plug and play even on a windows system! Fantastic, responsive and sensitive. I could not be happier.

neiatze says "lasts" about Belkin G Plus

When we fist started talking about getting a wireless router, I knew nothing at all about them. Of all the places to learn about electronics, I went to ebay to check out "wireless routers". I got at least five thousand different entries for the wireless router. I plowed my way through these entries. I learned if you got a router you had to buy the same brand of router cards (or whatever they call those things you plug into your computer to pick up the signal of the router). Anyhow, I learned that with some routers you didn't need these cards, and the Belkin G Plus is one of them. All I did with the set up was attach my modem and main computer to the Belkin wireless router and I could use my laptop to pick up the internet as long as the laptop had an internet card. With these Belkin G Plus's you can easily switch from two computers picking up the signal to four computers picking up the signal with the flick of a switch. Easy set up. I have had mine for over 3 years and...
...

photogirl506 says "This is an awesome computer" about Dell Inspiron 1520

I love this computer. I love that I was able to choose the color and exactly how my computer was made. I got to put what I wanted on it and then what I did not want or need I did not need I just did not add it. I would tell anyone who wanted to get this computer I would recommend but I would say be aware it can be a little bulky and also its kind of hard to find a case for this computer only because I did choose such a bigger screen its a 15 inch screen so its very wide. Overall I would say that this is a really good computer. I like that it offeres allot of space on the hard drive and also I would say to be careful of the hard drive because it can go bad mine did about three months after I bought the computer also the hinge on the top can be quite wiggly. almost like it is loose but it was always that way so I belive thats just how it was made. Also the only other thing I did not like is the flat finish on the top of the laptop and the non glare screen.
...

lorihall2861 says "Is really a pretty good printer for the price!" about Hewlett Packard HP Deskjet D1430

We purchased a new Hewlett Packard Desktop Computer and received a HP Deskjet D1430 printer with it.

I do like this little printer, is simple, easy to load paper, requires simple print cartridges that easy to install. Has good print quality and produces work that one would not be ashamed to turn into teacher or to a potential employer with a resume. Print is clear, legible and not at all blurred.

Is not a pricey product, runs about $30 on a normal basis. Will definitely get your money out of it. The printer ink runs about $14 for Black ink and $23 for color ink.

Could you sense there was a but.... coming? I usually tend to doubt a product when it is given to me for purchasing something else. The need to prove the product drives me. I have put this product to the test and it has not always come out on top. Does produce a good document when it is aligned. Seems to somehow unalign itself more than I care for it to. If you take the printer ink cartridge out for some reason and put the same...
...
