Although this computer is the cheapest in Walmart, if you want a computer that will last and that if something goes wrong on it you can call a customer service agency and get help... then do not buy this computer. I thought that all computers would al least come with Word, this computer comes with something called Works, what is that? My issue with this computer started when it offered me a Netzero account and then after I signed up fro the dial up account I realized that this laptop does not come with a modem! Who would have thought? I thought that a modem was necessary. Well when I called for help will to find out that I did not have a modem the customer service representative told me that I would have to upgrade to some other service to get the help that I needed. If I could afford an upgrade I would have bought a more expensive computer. Well the final issue that I had with this computer is that the screen went out and I had to hook it up to a desktop monitor to see anything that...
...

Punkrock666 says "Fast speeds, relatively inexpensive, durable. Good choice." about NetGear WPN824 RangeMax Wireless Router

I have to say when I first checked out this router before I bought it I was amused that the only 'con' that kept coming up were the flashing blue LEDs. Basically, the thing is all white with a clear dome on top in the center, and if you push a button in the back, the LEDs light up and flash and make it look like some kind of UFO. Honestly, I think the lights are cool, my boyfriend hates them, but IT DOESN'T MATTER - YOU CAN TURN THEM OFF!! I guess the complainers haven't found that big button in the back yet.

Anyway, serious review - excellent, worth buying. Netgear's N-router is quite fast for it's relatively inexpensive price tag (ranges from $40 - $70). It starts up immediately, has good range compared to the G Routers and stays on as long as you want. (I had a TrendNet N-router that would shut off randomly or if it got too warm). It has a 4 port Ethernet switch and although mine doesn't have WPA2 security, the newer ones do, and plus it's not like WPA2 wasn't hacked...
...

When I first purchased my Inspiron 531 I thought I made a mistake due to so many people telling me that it was a weak computer that couldn't do what I wanted it to do. I've been surprised with how good the computer has been for me. I can work with pictures on several downloaded programs and with reasonable speed. My computer skills are limited but the Inspiron 531 was a good choice. I'd recommend this computer for anyone who needs to work with pictures, use email services, and search the web. The only problems I've had was with the installed drive that doesn't always work. I do like the fact that the computer has 4 USB ports. The preloaded VISTA Home is adequate for most operations. My kids are always using the Inspiron for watching videos and movies. The Windows Photogallery is quite basic but does allow for some cataloguing and in files and some photo improvement tasks such as color, tint, cropping, and contrast. It is nearly impossible to improvea poorly focused picturee.
...

YayOatmeal says "Excellent for on the go!" about Toshiba Satellite A215

This laptop was an inpulse buy because it was on sale for half off as the store needed to clear out all Toshiba computers to make room for HP, Compaq, E Machines and maybe a few others. I did not expect to use this laptop as my primary comuter, but it has blown away my desktop in performance. It is portable and lightweight and has not one given me any problems other than it has Vista, which we all know is the swine flu of computer, but I deal with it. When I do upgrade to a new laptop, this one isn't going anywhere. This will not just be a back up, but I will use it along with my new laptop. I am considering installing Ubuntu on it because I have a feeling it will perform even better with a linux system on it. It did, however, come with only an 80GB hard drive, which I plan on changing to a 300 very soon. It also only came with 2GB of ram, which I personally upgraded to 4. The fan and other internals seem to be very hard to access, but the hard drive, ram, and the extra spot of an additional...
...

nebg9 says "This is a great laptop worth every penny" about Dell Latitude D610 Laptop

The thin-and-light Latitude D600 series, based on the new Pentium M processor, marks the start of an ambitious new corporate look for Dell. Not only has the company redesigned all of its popular Latitude laptops, it has also reworked its docking stations, port replicators, and media modules. The notebooks carry the very latest components, including Pentium M processors and Intel's new 855 chipset. The D600 series isn't always a true-blue Centrino, but it can be. The company offers either the Centrino-completing Intel Pro wireless mini-PCI card, known as Calexico, or Dell Computer's own TrueMobile Wi-Fi mini-PCI cards, supporting 802.11a/b/g. If your corporate budget includes money for a new laptop line, the Latitude D series is a wise way to spend it.

The keyboard is big and solid.
If the old Latitude C600 was the comfort food of corporate computing, then the new Latitude D600 series would be the dessert. The silver D600 is a smaller, sleeker version of the gray C600, measuring 1.2 by 12.4...
...

mohammedezedin says "Wow, like in the Obama-mania" about Lexmark x2500

In fact, the best description that I would give about this product, Lexmark All-in-one X2500 is that the price for its high quality results to me like very worthy.

Therefore, if I would have to recommend a device like this one to anyone, it would be this one, because it's super, excellent and you can't improve its price.

Well, just to be honest I need to remark as an add up that this printer's cartridges, either color or black are just a bit expensives and they last for like just a couple of weeks.

So, please don't use it for printing photos, pictures, etc. Even though, for Faxing, black and white copies, and scanning, this type of all-in-one results very convenient, like for your kid's homeworks at school.

One more thing is about feed-up options, they are very reasonable and you can decide between printing just one side of the paper sheet or even both sides. So, it's an advantage to take into account.
...

LoveisJoy says "Learned Some Spanish in Spite of Software's Many Flaws" about Individual - Learn to Speak Spanish Deluxe 10 Software

The only reason I didn't rate Learn to Speak Spanish Deluxe Software lower is because I did learn a few more things that I didn't come across in Rosetta Stone. That said, this software program probably has as many things going against it as it does going for it.

Pros:

Speech Analysis: Practice speaking, and the gauge will rise and fall depending on how well you pronounce the words. I'm always excited when I manage to talk like a "native speaker."

Beginner to Advanced: Instead of paying for different levels, Learn to Speak Spanish Deluxe is designed so users can begin instruction at the level they feel most comfortable.

Simulated Conversations: Each lesson takes you through a simulation of real world experiences, like meeting new people at a party or speaking to a clerk at a currency exchange.

Incredibly Affordable: I paid $14.99 when I bought Learn to Speak Spanish Deluxe; a mere fraction of the $200+ cost of Rosetta Stone Level 1. If you're curious about learning Spanish,...
...

When I purchased this router I was on a time and budget restraint, therefore I was not particularly concerned with the speed, range or overall quality. I figured it would be a quick fix until I could take the time to set up a faster network at home. In the meantime, this woud keep the kids happy.

After having Linksys products and Cisco Systems drilled into my head by previous employers, I assumed that they were the highest quality brand. I also assumed that, due to previous stories from friends who had installed Linksys, that the setup would be time consuming and confusing. Finally, knowing how cheap the cable company we use can be, seeing them issuing this brand as thier standard router and insisting on installing it for the customer, I was definitely pesimistic.

To my complete and utter shock, this router has been a magnificent buy. The installation was completely numbered/colour coded. Setting this router up on a secure, password-protected network was a breeze. I would ...
...

williaminman66 says "This is the best desktop ive ever owned" about Compaq SR5518F desktop computer

I just purchased this compaq a month ago-and I absolutely love it. I had a dell before, and as far as I am concerned-my Dell doesnt even hold a candle.

Its extremely fast (which is important to me, I am online alot and nothing makes me pull my hair out faster than watching some agonizing page slowly appear!) My Compaq seems to load the page instantly-it just all appears at once instead of piece by piece.

The only bad thing I can say about it, is that it didnt come with enough Ram. I only have 256k, and for this day and age, it needs to be at least twice that. But Ram comes cheap, and an upgrade of Ram, would make this the perfect computer.

I will probably always stay loyal to Compaq now-just based on this one desktop. I would recomend this model to anyone--its reasonably priced, user friendly, and fast as lightning.

This is a good computer for first timers or for people like me that basically live on the internet.
...

I miss my old HP 7310 All in One Officejet - after several years of intense work, it died! Being happy with HP I decided to go with a similar model, the Officejet 6500 and I do like it except for one thing - after I print something, it goes through this noisy "resetting" thingamajiggy. I don't know what that is...but when I am working on something and trying to concentrate, it can be annoying. Other than a little bit more of lagtime, I find the quality is good, it holds more paper than the 7310 which means I have to spend less time loading it. It's a bit smaller which is nice on my desk.

Whether you are looking for a portable product featuring Windows 7 or on the fence about buying a notebook or netbook, Acer's Aspire 5532 notebook is an aggressively priced notebook that will turn many heads for the right reason.

Lets face it most of us out there are not hard core PC gamers or overclocking gurus of hardware. Most of us look for performance and reliablility for day to day activities such as checking email, viewing videos, doing school work and representing ourselves online in various forums and such. Acer has put a product out there for that very reason.

Why to buy?

Acer has positioned this notebook in the price range of most netbooks which do far less in scope of performance and flexibility. Add the sleek design and small form factor and you have a product designed for an on the go compute anywhere lifestyle. Its 3GB of RAM and use of a Single core processor gives you longer battery life, less heat and a quieter computing experience then its higher end competitors. ...
...

Seeing as I bought this Lenovo Laptop at a Circuit city close out, I got it for a great price. At 80% off, it was only $384.00. Its brand new and the graphics are amazing. In order to log onto the computer, you must utilize the Veriface recognition- something very cool in a laptop. The 3gigs of ram gives me plenty of options to keep multiple windows open and multitask throughout the day. Im always working on several different projects at once, so its good to have a computer than can keep up. I can averagly burn a CD in less than 4 minutes, so thats another plus. I love watching movies on there and hooking the vga connector to my high def television. Its been about 7 months since Ive had this laptop, and I still never had a problem with it. Lenovo makes a great product overall, but I would have difficulty saving up as much money to buy one, had it not been on sale. I would still reccommend this product to any gamer, tech person, or workaholic; it comes n a great package and overall its ahead...
...

An AMD Athlon X2 QL-65 Processor, im not quiet sure what that means but i know it runs fast. 3GB DDR2 800MHZ memory, im pretty sure this is the fastest memory possible for this laptop. The graphics card is an ATI Radeon 3100, again im not exactly sure what that means but, the picture is great especially when watching movies and editing photos and videos. It also has a DVD-Supermulti (+/-R double layer) with Labelflash drive, basically this means that you can burn CD's and DVD's, you can also watch CD's and DVD's no matter if they were burnt from a different computer and no matter what file format they are in. It comes with Genuine Windows Vista installed but, you can upgrade to Genuine Windows 7. It also has a built-in Wifi, Standard stereo speakers, headphone jack, Microphone Jack, and a built-in Mircophone.
...

slhwright says "The HP Deskjet D1420 is a fast and reliable printer." about hp Deskjet D1420

This is a great printer. Very reliable and fast. Probably good only for home use, but does the job right and precise. The onlly issue I have, as in most printers, is that the black ink runs out very fast and is expensive to replace routinely. I have had this printer for 5 years and it has worked just great for me. It would be nice if an ink company would come out with something that would last longer. I frequently write papers and letters for acquaintences, so I have to always have an extra ink cartridge on hand in case I run out. I have looked into other printers, but since this one is so reliable, I will be keeping it. So If you're just looking for a simple, reliable printer, this is the one to do the job. I have worked in and office for 25 years and have not encountered a nice easy printer like this one. Not only easy and fast, but easy to troubleshoot such as paper jams. The HP support disc that comes with it is very helpful.
...

velinaw says "Tough transition from PC to Mac" about Macintosh macbook

I convinced my husband to purchase the MacBook after our desktop contracted a series of virus and we had to reformat the harddrives for the 3rd time. We use the MacBook to track our family finances and continue to use the PC for other non-financial activities.

The graphics and usability of the computer is great. It instantly found and connected to our wireless modem without me having to do much of anything.

There were some challenges with using it for online banking as my bank doesn't support Safari. After installing FireFox, this problem went away. But it is slightly frustrating to have 2 different Internet browser programs.

After installing Quicken for the Mac, I found the transition from the PC version to the Mac version challenging. The conversion of categories and data was not as straight forward as it could have been.

The Mac came with offers on various Apple software, that, I am sure is pretty good. It was a challenge to switch from Windows Office to the Numbers. ...
...

Frenchcheesemuseum says "I love my Dell computer but not fond of Dell service." about Dell Dimension E310

I love my Dell computer. I was able to go online and pick out the exact components I wanted and have it specially made for me. The shipping was fantastic and the ease of financing was excellent as well. After I learned to fi maintain it myself it has been the best computer I've ever had.

Although I've run into a few minor snags over the last 4 years, it has been a trooper. I've been able to fix all the problems I had over the years myself and with the help of IT friends. Being able to learn to fix it myself is fantastic since Dell charges you for evena diagnostic of your problem unless you purchase some outrageous extra warranty. So even if you have a very simple problem with a very simple fix that almost anybody working for Dell could tell you within a few minutes, instead they choose to push you around an automated phone system for long periods of time and then ultimately tell you that they won't even discuss possible solutions unless you pay them $60.

That hardly seemed...
...

Meri says "Great for scrapbooking and genealogy projects..." about Canon CanoScan CS8800F Flatbed Scanner

When my old scanner bit the dust I started researching scanners for a replacement. I mainly use the scanner to digitize pictures, old records and make copies of important papers I want to save. I was wanting to scan a bunch of old slides that my husband had taken forty years ago and turn them into a book of memories for him. I decided on the Canon CanoScan 8800F.

Functions-

The scanner uses high-luminance white lamps to make scans of color film, negatives, and text papers.

The scanner has the ability to batch-scan up to [4]slides or [12] 35mm frames at a time.

The scanner can digitally remove dust, scratches, and other imperfections from old photographs with the software included.

The scanner can scan, copy, create emails and multi-paged PDFs.

Features-

Maximum resolutions: Optical: 4800 x 9600 dpi; interpolated: 19,200 x 19,200 dpi
Scanning mode: Color: 48-bit internal / 48-bit external (selectable in driver); grayscale: 48-bit internal / 8-bit external
Maximum...
...
