I have been finding and losing Birkies with all kinds of geographical names for over 20 years.
I slip them off when I sit down then have to go on a hunt when I leave the house. Sometimes I find one left, purple suede Arizona (very comfortable) and one right, birkiflor Florida. (Why don't I throw those plastic-y birkiflors out? Their slippery imitation-of-leather tops makes my feet perspire).
Sometimes I find a tan leather Arizona (had to break those in) and a dark leather Zurich (had to trim a tad around one foot bone with the kitchen scissors) or a flip-flop (can't remember its location name) which has less support.
My mother is gone, but my foot doctor says I have her feet. Go figure! "Rich girl" feet with narrow heels that walk out of flats and a Morton's toe (longer second toe) that likes to stand up and try to escape closed-toe shoes.
In the 1970s, German-made Birkenstock shoes made a social statement. Today, the only statement......

eatiller says "The shoes that fit me best" about Nike sneakers

I've been wearing Nike shoes since I can remember. They are a reliable shoe that gives me the best support. I have the pleasure of having smaller feet so I'm able to not only wear the adult shoes, but every now and then I find myself in the kids section and may snag a pair of those. My daughter is now 10 months old and one of her 1st pair of booties were a pair of Nikes. They were warm and kept her happy. I can't wait for her to start walking. Before she was born I bought her a gift pack that had a pair of black and gold high tops with a winter hat. She's already wearig the hat and I'm so excited to get her in the shoes! We are a Nike family through and through. It's hard to switch brands after so many years. I see us both wearing Nikes as long as we can. They have shoes that will fit your age -- no matter what. They are priced well and when I'm in an area that has the Nike Outlet, I'm sure to stock up. It's a great product and I make sure to tell my friends that Nike fits me best and I......

I have fibromyalgia and arthritis. Walking has become more difficult since these diagnosis, but I keep trying.

Last week I went to Walt Disney World in Florida with my family and dreaded the walking that I would have to do since here in cold Ct my symptoms have been getting worse and the pain is increasing.

I ordered the Curves Leg Toning rocker sneaker and put them on the first day at Disney.

I never felt so good, these shoes worked miracles. I was able to walk all day without any pain and even stayed at the park one night when they were open until 2 am.

The following week I went to the beach for a few days and walked barefoot on the beach. My fibromyalgia pain was intense. So intense that I had to take a Percocet.

When I got back to the hotel I put on my Curves sneakers and didn't have the pain for the rest of the day. I wore my sneakers every day after that and only took them off when I went into the water.

I can't say they toned my legs as promised, my legs...
...

I bought a pair of ben10 sneakers for my son the week school started. It has been not quite 2 months and both are split down the seams on the sides! The threads are coming loose all over. The rubber type material that goes accrossed the fronts of them have chipped off almost entirely! I just took notice to them this week and am in shock!

My sons sneakers usually last the entire school year and even thru the summer till it's time for back to school shopping again.

I checked the name of the company on the inside of the tongue and it says SG Footwear & made in china. I think it's time us Americans ban all imported items from China!

I reported this to kmart and was told if i had the receipt & had been less then 90 days then I could exchange or return.

Kmart: Are all your shoes made in China? If so, i'll be shopping somewhere else.

Anyone know of a company that makes shoes here in the US? Seems like nothing is made here in our own country anymore.

**Update: we went to kmart...
...

I got a pair of these shoes before I went to Ecuador for a year. The shoes handled everything from hiking to climbing mountains, to running through the jungle and walking on the cobblestone streets. They were pretty durable, I had shoes with a mesh area around the toes and that got a little beat up but all in all, good....

Jo says "The Compass Shoes Will Point You to the Earth and Comfort" about Earth Compass

To the Point
For the most part I really like Earth Shoes. When I was looking for a good walking shoe I decided to try Compass by Earth. It can be seen here http://www.planetshoes.com/itemmatrix.asp?groupcode=1918&Item=Earth-Compass&Brand=Earth.

It is now on sale for $84.00 from $109.00 and worth the money.

A Closer View

I do have bad feet. They hurt me a lot so I'll spend whatever I have to on shoes. Having said that (and I don't sell shoes) I think a good pair of shoes is the way to go for everyone especially if you're doing a lot of walking. My black Compass Earth Shoes (butter calf) are leather thus not vegan. They come in sizes from 5 to 12. You can get them in black (not butter calf); mahogany, khaki, and brown.

They are on the heavy side. For me that's not a problem. For someone like my mom who can't feel her feet she needs a very light shoe. My Compass Earth shoes would not work for her.

They have an elastic stretch piece which you can see in the picture making them easy to go on and...
...

My ten-year-old son is very fussy about his sneakers. He drives me crazy when I go out to buy him new ones. The tongue can't be too thick, the insides have to feel "just so" and of course, the look has to be cool. At the beginning of the school year last year, I bought him some high top leather Shaq sneakers. They were on sale for some ridiculous price that I couldn't pass up. He really didn't like them but they were inexpensive so he was getting them. Well, I should have forgotten about saving a few bucks because within about a month, he refused to wear them. We had to go back to the store but this time, I let him pick out his own sneakers and after trying on many pair, he finally chose Vans Boy's Skate Shoes (Hayes). They were normally $40 but I got them on sale for around $22 at Payless Shoe Store.

About These Vans Skate Shoes

These skate shoes feature "cupsole construction, extra cushioning in the collar and a unique hybrid outsole that blends skate and BMX tread for a sticky grip you...
...

Okay..I get it. They're ugly. Everyones says so. EVERYONE. Comments like "Don't let my nephew wear those disgusting shoes" or "You poor thing, Mommy makes you wear those ugly things." Yes... It isn't everyday but it's often enough for me to take off a star.
On the otherhand, My son loves them. And not "Oooh! i love them" - but yelping cries for three straight hours asking for us to drive back to Grandma's and get them back because we carried him to the car after he fell asleep for a nap.
He's flat footed, so the orthopedic qualities are great for him. He also walks pigeon toed so the material avoids blisters that he has encountered when he wears his other shoes (converse). Although he can't run as well with them as he would with sneakers - he still refuses to even try on another pair/brand now. I just hope when he starts going to school that he would at least rotate his shoes with some new balances or something.

They are easy to clean (I actually throw them in the dishwasher sometimes) and......
