Sariah4626 says "Loving this versatile jacket. It blows away the competition." about Athletech 4 in 1 jacket

I bought my 5 year old daughter this Athletech 4 in 1 jacket because we live in NC and some days she just needs a light jacket and other days she needs a coat. With this, she has both - actually she has both and then some. This jacket is basically two jackets put together - she loves how she can change it. The "inner" jacket is reversible with a fleece like material on one side and a nylon like material on the other side. The "outer" jacket has a silky nylon like lining and then a traditional coat nylon like outer shell. The "outer" jacket also has a hood and there is this nifty like half glove inside the sleeves that she loves. Both work well independently as jackets and it's wonderful when you put them together to use as a coat as well. There is a loop that hooks the two together and you put the sleeves together as well. She loves it - can't say enough good things about it. So far, we haven't found a single draw back to this jacket/coat....

LaurieM says "U.S. Polo Assn. Jacket; fashionable but not very functional..." about U.S. Polo Assn. Matrix Jacket

I have two boys ages seven and ten. When we were shopping at Burlington Coat Factory for school clothes a few months ago, I came across the Matrix Jacket by U.S Polo Assn. They each needed a new fall jacket and this one was a name brand and only $14.99. It looked fashionable and functional so I bought two. Fashionable, yes. Functional, not so much.

About the Matrix Jacket by U.S. Polo Assn.

This boy's jacket is made out of Polar Fleece/ Nylon blend, has hand warming pockets and a stow away pocket on the chest. At Burlington Coat Factory, it is available in black and brown for $14.99 but is also sold at several online stores in navy blue for around the same price. Machine Washable.

My Experience

A few weeks after school started, it became cool enough for my kids to wear their new jackets. My oldest son put his jacket on and it looked quite nice and fit very well. I noticed that he was having trouble zipping it up so I attempted to zip the jacket for him. The bottom of the plastic zipper was...
...

I was a little worried about the price of the Denali Jacket, but it kept me much warmer than I thought it would...and it looks great with everything while not being bulky! I received it as a present and ended up giving similar ones as a present to friends and loved ones....

I brought the baby phat coat for my daughter and the whole lining fell apart. It was $92 down the drain. I would have returned it but if I'm not happy with the first purchase then I'm not happy returning and waiting to be fixed. I thought it was quality I was buying, but I was very wrong . I love Children's place and Hollister!!...

This frostfree jacket from Old Navy is the bomb! I have always wanted one and got a chance to wear a friend of mine's. Sooo comfy! I had to purchase one for myself. However I had a problem deciding what color to get so I got three! I can't wait for it to get cold! Love your clothes and the prices!...

I bought my daughter the Denali Thermal jacket and it's the softest thing we've ever touched! The reinforces shoulders will be great if the weather is slightly inclement, thought it wouldn't really work in a downpour. It's warm and cozy for cold weather. The new colors are fabulous!...

This is a great jacket. It is warm and keeps you pretty dry in the rain because of the material. The end of the sleeves around the wrists are tight and keep snow from getting in your jacket. It is machine-washable and easy to clean. The zipper has yet to break after all I have put it through. The only thing it needs is a hood. ...

my4gigglingirlz says "MONEY WELL SPENT" about The North Face DENALI JACKET

I bought this jacket first for my 10 year old. She had to have one because everyone in school was wearing them. I shopped online to find a bargain, and truth be told.... They were high priced. It was what she wanted for Christmas, so I HAD to buy one.

This jacket is just a fleece.... Not warm enough for winter in New England. BUT, THE NORTH FACE offers "covering" layers. This is FANTASTIC! This Denali jacket zips into other weaterproof shells and provides the warmth we need. I would etimate the total I spent for the coats is about $140. Not an amount I would normally spend.... I have to admit.

When the jacket(s) came I was very impressed. They really have thought of everything.... The sleeves have nylon on the underside to resist set in dirt. The waist has adjustable tightening to keep the wind from blowing up her back. The zipper is nylon so it doesn't get cold against her skin. The collar is high enough to keep her neck warm, and there are tabs on the lower part...
...

TracieFadian says "Warm and durable for the whole family!" about Old Navy Frost Free Jacket

I just cannot say enough about the Old Navy Frost Free Jackets!

I have three kids and we have been through SEVERAL winter jackets of all shapes and sizes. Some of them have not even made it through a full winter! But that is not the case with this brand!

These jackets retail from $29.50 to $68.00. I bought two of them - one for my daughter and one for my son (this was three years ago when we only had *two* kids). Both retailed for $49.50 and I got them for $16.50 each (an after-season sale at Old Navy)! I COULD NOT pass up that deal! They are SUPER warm, BEAUTIFUL, and boy did they stand the test of time! They wore them for two whole winters and would have worn them a third if they had'nt grown out of them! I even saved my son's for my toddler! I would have Ebayed my daughter's - only after she had slightly grown out of it, we used it exclusively for sledding so she didn't have to use her new "school coat". Would you believe it STILL held up? No rips, but it got pretty filthy! After all,......

Jolie says "Adorable fleeces for kids- warm and cute design!" about Widgeon Children's Fleece Coat

If only I spent as much time shopping for me as I do for my kids...

I guess you can say I am the kind of parent that cares more about how my kids look than how I look. I want my kids to look and feel their best. Im not fanatical about it in any way. However, I do appreciate nice clothes for kids. I get irritated when kids look shabby and their parents look like rock stars. I just wasnt raised that way!

Okay, enough of my parenting philosophy! Onto the coat...

What my son wears
My son is typically outfitted in his fleece patagonia. I tend to buy outwear in colors like red so that both of my kids can wear them. However, when it was time for my daughter to wear a coat, I could not bring myself to putting her in his red patagonia. It was just so sporty on her. While it looked super cute on him, it just wasnt right for her.

Here comes the widgeon.... in pink, of course.

Why I picked the widgeon for my daughter
It is a cute fleece with an attached hood. Around the hood and the sleeves is a pink...
...
