I love Crabtree& Evelyn products. Their store in Stuyvesant Plaza, Albany, NY is a wonderful trip into "girlie" things. It is a place I go if I need a quick pick-me-up or feel the need to spoil myself. A while back I discovered that they carried Vera Bradley handbags. My first impression of the handbags was that they were too expensive for a quilted fabric bag. I had previously compared prices to other quilted handbags and decided the Vera Bradley bags weren't worth the price. A few months later my daughter-in-law gave me one of their photo snap wallets in the Vera Bradley Riviera Blue pattern. I fell in love.

I have since bought a couple handbags, a cosmetic bag and a jewelry book. I am loving them more and more with use and the items have made a believer out of me in terms of value for the money.

Vera Bradley bags are made well. There are no exposed seams and each bag has little details sewn into each one. Did I mention they are cute too?

When my husband and I go out on a date, I don't feel like toting around my whole purse. In general I have found that Coach purses offer exceptional style and great quality. I personally own two coach purses and I use them ALL the time. They are actually the only purses I ever use any more. Coach tends to have such a classic style that can be dressed up or down. The quality of the leather (as both of mine are) is unbeaten and still looks amazing after a year of serious use. I love how "smart" the bags are with perfectly placed and sized pockets for my cell phone, iPod, and other purse esstentials. Someone obviously put a lot of thought into what a woman wants and needs in her purse. I have yet to meet a person who dislikes their Coach bad (which might be why people often have so many of them!) I know I could go to some cheaper store for a purse or buy a knockoff, but in the end you are just wasting money because you have to replace them all the time! I am planning to continue buying the Coach brand in the future.

I feed my daughter in the middle of the night and often see the Miche commercials. I was intrigued so I just had to check out their web site. I was tempted to buy from them but then noticed I was getting into a "club" where more shells would be sent to me on a regular basis and I wasn't into that so I looked for a place near me and found my local Hallmark sold them.

Well I headed out to see if the Miche bag was worth the money. I loved the purse and bought a black base right then. The selection of shells there was very slim as the sales clerk told me they can't keep them in so I came home and bought some on e-bay. I now have the brown base as well and 10 shells.

If you have both the brown and black base I would recommend the organiser that goes in the purse that makes it quick to change between the two bags. Without it I couldn't see the point of being able to quickly change the shells since I still had to transfer all my stuff.

I get comments all the time about my purse matching...

Vera Bradley Paprika Tote

I really like the look, feel and design of Vera Bradley bags. I think her fabric patterns can work for both classic or trendy looks. I have a Vera Bradley cosmetic bag that was a gift for Mother's Day- sweet! I also have a knock off back pack style bag but as far as Vera Bradley purses and totes go, I've just admired other people's- a lot.

True story:

I saw the Vera Bradley Paprika Tote in a magazine. Love the look, loved the color for fall and even loved the name since I am a big time Paprika user in the kitchen. Macaroni and cheese, deviled eggs - they all need a little Paprika.

Still, would I have put this at the top of my wish list when I have more practical needs? Who knows now because... I won it! Yes, I won it at a fundraiser for the library which I am sure was some good karma for accrueing and paying my library fines without quibbling.

Now that I have a Vera Bradley tote, what do I really think of it?

For the complaints I've seen written I think that they are valid gripes, however, I also know that the shells without the metal embellishments hold up just fine. You can't expect something super high quality of a brand new company with a brand new concept. I would advise buying your shells in person, because the pictures online don't really give you enough detail to be able to distinguish between shells that are 'cheap looking' and ones that are good quality. As for the 'cheapness' of the material it's important to remember that these bags are made of man made materials... which means a lot of faux and not genuine leather or anything. That, I would love to see the company move to in the future... but since I think they are still in the start up phases I will just enjoy them as is. I think that the actually stitching quality of the bags are decent, and I'm telling everyone I know about these bags! It would be nice to be able to get a slim wallet or two made of matching brown or black materials...

I purchased this purse as I am always "on the run", seem to have my hands full, Buxton has always been a well known name for wallets, the advertisement stated that you could put everything in it from your personal items to a water bottle. Personal experience. Day one. Zipper on the front of purse broke while opening it for the first time. Oh well. Keep on going. Day two or three. The inside pocket that is made of mesh/netting developed a "huge" hole. So all of my papers/cards that I had put in it fell out. What a nightmare. Sometime there after the zipper pull on the inside broke (cheap, cheap, cheap). I definitely would not put a water bottle in that purse or anything with weight to it. Would I recommend it. No. The design idea is a good one but the workmanship would receive a < 0 rating from me. That organizer is currently in a basket of items waiting to go the church trash and treasure sale. Hopefully the church will be able to get $.25 or $.50 for it...

I am in love with the Coach Striped Heritage tote. I was able to get mine at a really nice price and have found it to be so useful. I use it when I am going to classes or simply on a shopping run. My bag's interior has a nice white plaid (with blues and greens etc.) lining. There are multiple pockets as well, for sticking in your wallet, pens, receipts, etc. One of the inner pockets has a small zipper where you can stick in perhaps credit cards or something that you would wish to have zipped up. You can choose to leave the bag open or you can zip it up. There is a side pocket that is magnetically held together where you can choose to stick in whatever you feel like. I have never had a bad experience with any Coach bag I have used. This tote is an ideal size for shopping or going to classes. The straps are really sturdy and have a nice leather touch. I was carrying the purse, once, when it was raining and it did not ruin the exterior of my purse. Thank goodness.

I purchased a Miche Bag with five shells from 4Miche.com on July. 7. Right after I received the delivery, I went on a oversea trip and got back in late August. So, I started to use my new Miche bag in about early September. Only at the third time when I use the bag, I noticed the zipper was broken (opened about 2 inches). I fixed it. However, the broken part got worse and worse. Also, one of the shell had problem to attach to the bag because the magnetic corn at the edge of the shell fall inside of the shell. I contacted the 4Miche.com customer service, they said since it's passed the 60 days warrant, they would not do anything about the issue even it's only passed couple of the days and I have not used it more than 30 days. They even asked me,"Defect product? Who made the judgment?" With a opened zipper and de-attached shell, it's not a DEFECT?! What a joke!!!

I got my first miche bag and shells at our fair over a year ago. I got the bag and 4 shells. Was scepticle at first. Used it the next week and got raves of the idea and colors. I know have 20 shells and the brown bag. I go to a shopping mall that miche has a cart in the middle of the mall hallway. I had one rep. e-mail or phone me when two or more shells came out so I could go and check it out. I ended up buying three and two of the chain straps. Just the other day I went to that mall and bam I noticed many more new shells and the newest ones are really cool. Then they have a larger bag, with shells and in a ad they showed a organizer for inside the purse with pockets, card holder, Which will make the bags even more easier to get into. If you couldn't tell I love my MICHE bag and have not had any trouble with them. Maybe because I get them from someone and not ordering them??! anyway, i feel its a get way to have many bags without change what you have inside.

I am not one to buy or have a lot of purses. So when I do buy them, I usually go for something versatile. Last Christmas I bought myself the Giani Bernini Glazed Leather Flap Satchel in a dark brown color from Macy's. Originally the price was around $90 but I caught it on sale for $50.

I don't like purses that are huge, I like medium sized ones. I want to fit a lot of stuff but I don't want it to feel like a suitcase. This purse is a good size. It's 13" W x 7-1/2" H x 3" D. and the handles are 8". The leather is a glazed dark brown and the creme colored stitching contrasts with the dark brown nicely. On the outside there's a decorative buckle detail with silver tone hardware.

Inside of the purse their is a back zipper compartment, a center zippered compartment and two pockets. This purse has plenty of room and there is also a pocket in the front. For easy opening and closing the front clasp is magnetized and holds very good. I usually clean my purse every couple of months with

My Take on the Vera Bradley Night Owl Quilted Bucket Tote

Vera Bradley has a whole line of Night Owl bags but I didn't want an actual purse of this style so I went for the tote which I use to carry my smallest netbook, a journal, pens, and my iPod Touch, or anything that I want to have with me but don't want to stash in my usual purse. I have used it as an overnight bag as well even though it's on the small side.

The kicker for me is that it is black (like night) with little white night owls all over it. There are florals on it as well which I wish were moons instead but Vera Bradley loves those florals. The bag is cotton and quilted. It measures 10 inches...

I'm not quite sure how schoolwork has evolved the way it has. The entire time I went to school, we never carried our books in a book bag, tote bag, or backpack. And if you've ever picked up the backpack of someone in middle school or high school, you realize how much work they do have to tote back and forth. As those things weigh a good twenty to forty pounds.

For grade schoolers, backpacks are the preferred bag, as it's easy for them to carry, even if it starts to get a little heavy for them. But once they get a little older, they start looking for alternative ways to carry their work. The "in" thing now for girls seems to be carrying your items in a tote bag. It's not convenient, but middle school girls could care...
