Burton is the most well known company within the Snowboarding community. There equipment is in every ski shop and there adds are all over snowsport media. One question always rings through however. That question is, "Am I really getting what I paid for?". The unfortunate truth is that no, you are not necessarily getting too much bang for your buck. Burton makes equipment appealing to the average snowboarder (someone who goes riding an average of maybe 5 times a year). For them the eqipment may last them a season or two, maybe even more, but for an avid rider Burton does not pull through. I bought a Burton Custom and it didnt even last me a whole season. The base cracked in less that 3 months. Considering I paid around 600 dollars for my setup, this was not a wise choice. If you are looking to get some quality products do your research and stay away from more corporate businesses.

Delia's is a clothing store that I first came about on the internet a few years ago. I had ordered clothing from Delias.com and had bad luck with finding my size. I wound up returning my clothes to their online store. Thankfully, a Delia's store opened up in my local mall and I was able to try on clothing! I found a black pea coat at Delia's in my mall and tried it on and loved it. For one, the fit was amazing. I bought the coat in a size small about 3 winters ago and I am still wearing it! It is soft and the inside of the winter coat is lined with this silky, satiny bright striped lining. The inside of the coat looks like candy. I get more comments about the lining! This pea coat is also warm because it has some sort of stuffing or batting underneath the silky lining. The coat was around $80, but I really believe that is a good price for a winter coat. It serves its purpose which is to keep me warm and looking great!

I have never worn a coat this warm. I have never bought an extremely nice "fancy-brand" coat before. I was truly surprised by the fact that it was that warm, just being filled with feathers!! It is just a plain pink color. I guess it could have been a little more "sparkly" or cute, but like I said....it is so warm. The first time I wore it outside in the cold, I told my husband..."now I know how ducks can sit in frigid water in the winter".

It also has a removable hood, which is great for anyone that only likes them when it is pouring snow (like me). The ends of the sleeves are also really neat. Inside the ends it has a second "layer" that hugs onto your wrist (its like the wrist part of gloves), which really helps keep the wind from going up your arms! And for as warm as it is, it isnt super bulky. The first thing I did after getting it was put it on and sit in my car. Some other coats are so bulky that you can barely drive with them on.....this one is...

I recently ordered LL Bean's 3-in-1 Jacket in the "Sale" section. I saved approximately $20 by ordering from this section and accepting a limited selection of colors. My red and black jacket, however, is very nice and the colors are attractive. The jacket can be worn as a light Windbreaker with many useful and adjustable pockets (red), as a warm, fuzzy, (black) fleece jacket, or zipped together to get additional warmth and moisture protection. The outer shell even has a zip-away hood. I almost didn't notice it was there; it lays so flat and isn't bulky at all. The jacket is comfortable, looks great, adjusts to my figure, and does not look "cheap." I'll be able to wear it all year long - in one form or another. I'm tempted to buy a collection of these jackets!...

I ADORE MY CANADIAN GOOSE TRIILLIUM SILVER COAT! I live in Chicago and spent the last few months on the hunt for the perfect warm winter coat. I bought and returned five different coats! I crave warmth but i am also searching for a coat that is attractive and does not limit my mobility.

I bet you think i was dreaming of the impossible! I, too, was beginning to wonder.

Til i found my Goose.

Canada Goose Trillium parka is uber warm, sleek, cozy and functional. The arms have fabulous cuffs that keep you warm and the snow out. The pockets are lined with fleece and big enough to stuff a hat, gloves and a wallet. The huge hood boasts fur that can be removed or kept on to cradle your head in luxury.

I got mine on the Tannery.com, they have many different styles for women and men. But all are made with the wonderful technology of the goose! Check one out, they are expensive but worth it!

Wonderful to find a water resistant, cord adjustable hooded, generous exterior pocketed, machine washable windbreaker! Three years of looking for this item! has netted a two exterior pocketed steel blue when I was looking for Navy blue with interior and exterior pockets for cell, keys, gloves, wallet, and earmuffs, but this was the best I could locate while searching! Thank you. Windbreakers are so very necessary while doing recess or bus duty during most of fall, winter, or spring when winds can set off an earache resulting in an ER cost well beyond the cost of the windbreaker. Thank you! Machine washable is ever so helpful!
Add so kudos to Farah's column of great PR total customer service. She listened, did not argue, made suggestions when appropriate and finalized the sale after an impulse buy was added to the ticket! What a total customer oriented gal whom I had never laid eyes on prior to this transaction! Make her aware of her great work. She needs to know she......

This jacket is so warm and comfortable. I love that the hat stores inside, and that there are ample pockets that are in just the right places and are big enough to hold the things you need to put in them.

The seams are strong and I finally found a jacket that is not too short. I am someone who likes to have my jacket fall just below my waistline. I do not like having to bend over in January weather and getting a cold blast of icy wind on my back because my jacket was not long enough.

I loved the jacket so much, I purchased the winter boots, hat and gloves to match.

I am now convincing both of my daughters to let me get them one of these becuase the quality and the value make this a can't miss out on product.

Definately an item that should be in Your closet....

Whenver my mother used to take me to JC Penney's as a child it was always because they carried *chubby* sizes and no one else ever did. The selection was always very plain and uninteresting and often I felt like I was gypped.

Some years ago JC Penney's made a bit of a crossover from plain department store for plan folks, to high couture level urban fashion (with still enough plain choices for plain folk too). The prices are amazing if you play it right, and the style, well, you can not beat some of the styles.

The favorite designer of the bunch for those of us who crave couture and urban edge but just can not afford the runway prices is a designer line known as BISOU BISOU. Very few people know about this line of clothing as whenever I wear this brand, I get TONS of compliments.

The line is designed for hourglass figures and despite some blingers that they have which bring to mind the description *bad drug trip*, when they hit it right, they HIT IT RIGHT.

WHAT IS THE BISOU JACQUARD......

If you haven't checked out Rene' Geneva's line yet, you are missing out! I get so excited to see what comes out each season. My newest favorite is the Pea Coat (52001). I got mine in Charcoal/Red. It draws attention everywhere I go because it is very adorable, flattering, and because they are a boutique style design house, no one has seen it before!! Even better, every time I get a new piece I get to feel good about it for more than its cute-ness...everything they make is from organic and sustainable fabrics! So I guess I'm "green" now??

Well, I admitted defeat w/ the Chicago weather this past weekend and agreed that I'd buy a new winter coat. Sadly, the zipper from my Old Navy reversible down coat detached from its track at the end of last winter and was irreparable, so I was in need of a new jacket.

I consider myself a chic and trendy twenty-something. I don't follow fashion or read Vogue religiously like one of my best friends, but I do know good style from bad style. Naturally, being the sucker for branding and advertising that I am, I headed over to the North Face store on Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago to rifle through their latest lines - with the hope of adding to my personal North Face collection by the end of the day. Well, I forgot that (a) I pay my own bills now and (b) I have a small budget. Realizing that a North Face coat would cost me half of December's rent, I decided to cross the street and visit my favorite discount shopping store, Filene's Basement.

It didn't take long for me to have selected three......

I purchased a Dennis Basso reversible coat mid-winter.One side is a suede type fabric and the other side is fur.. It has turn back cuffs and a hood.. This coat is so warm and cozy and I get so many compliments when I wear it.. I wear it with the fur inside so it looks casual, but it still looks great with everything from jeans to a tailored suit But the greatest feature is the fact that it is machine washable.. I would highly recommend this coat to anyone....

Bought several coats from webfurs.com over the past few years...this year bought four...one came damaged, when I complained about it, the owner, Gary, yelled at me, owes me money, and refused to call to discuss. I think that he has computer connections, because complaints are shown and than quickly erased. People should beware buying from WEBFURS.COM ...not a trustworthy company...a cheat, who looks to take advantage of people and could care less about customer service. In my opinion, consiidering how many purchases I have made over the past several years....not very smat and quite arrogant. Buyer Beware!!!!...

I loved the Billabong coat that I purchased. The fabric on the exterior holds up very well, however the inside lining easily rips and the stitching breaks. I even purchased a size larger because I like to use it for snowboarding. Currently, the jacket has 3 holes in the interior and I have only had the jacket for 6 months....

I needed a new winter coat but I wasn't looking for one when I came upon the Izod Poly Down Front Zip Jacket with a Hood.

The retail price was $149 then it was marked down to $99. If you have an Izod store near you there will be more discounts on the great jacket. You can see one that is very similar to mine and sells for $94.00. Mine has two hidden side zippers for the pockets and this one doesn't. A Closer View

This coat is warm. I have two coats and they aren't warm enough. The 60% down and 40% feathers work. The website above says that one comes in black and silver which I saw in the store. The store had mine in white as well.

I love that it has a detachable hood.

It is machine washable and can be machine dried which I like a lot. If you've never dried down throw in a sneaker and that will fluff it back up. It's lined with polyester and is really...

Faux Fur Collar Cape ad is in red & catches the eye. Elegant at every turn and I seem to agree. Very soft faux fur collar with two buttons. There are coordinating hat and gloves which are on the model in the photo. Two sizes are available; One size fits women from 14w to 22w while
the other fits women from 24w to 34w. What is wonderful is that Lany Bryant guarantees all the merchandise they sell in their catalogs & promise an exchange or refund if the customer is not completely happy. Their internet emails sent varieties of discounts,30% off one day, 50% off 1 item another day, etc.

I recently searched for a jacket for my wife and after several store visits decided to try on-line ( which I use regularly) Cabela's had a better quality jacket at approxiately 1/2 to 2/3's of the store price.

Most jackets are 500 fill in the $70-$150 range so the value is apparent...

What a great jacket! So warm and fits well. Very fitted, instead of big and bulky. But comfortable. The inner layer is not the best, a fleece would be better, but for a winter jacket, which is what I purchased it for, it is great! The green color is great...goes with black or brown, which is a huge plus in my opinion! Columbia is known for being a great company, and I think this coat goes well with the brand....

I just purchased my third Land's End Parka. I usually select the hip length but also have the short jacket style. The first parka lasted 6 years; the second lasted 7 years. Having a farm and horses I'm really hard on my coats and the coats stand the test!

My daughter wears them and so does my husband.

You can usually purchase for less that $100 and for heavier or longer coats the prices go up accordingly.

These are the only winter jackets I have found that are warm, extremely water, and wind resisitant even after numerous runs through the washer and dryer.

A new plus I'm enjoying the being able to purchase through My Points and enjoy the points as a bonus!

You'll be very happy with these coats. And returns and refunds are hassle free!

This is a great jacket. At times, it is not extremely warm by itself, but with a sweater underneath (or I've even worn a sweatshirt overtop), it's perfect. It looks so nice & sleek - you will get compliments. I got mine on ebay for about 1/2 price - just be careful and read those descriptions very closely if you choose that route too! One jacket I was looking at had the measurements listed and they looked a little off, so I sent a message to the sender - it was a child's size and was not listed on the description!

This coat is fabulous! I needed a coat in a hurry for an emergency trip to the East Coast, and Cabela's came through for me! The down fill was a perfect loft to keep me comfortably warm, and the hood was a nice touch to keep me from having to wear a hat. The outer fabric is a soft sueded finish that feels lovely to the touch, and the inner zip pocket is great! The extra length of the coat kept my legs warm in freezing cold weather.

The customer service team noticed that I had requested 3 day delivery and called to see when I needed the coat - when I gave them my date of departure, they pointed out that with the weekend coming, I probably would not get the coat in time, and recommended overnight shipment, but I never felt pressured by them.

Buying from Cabela's online was a pleasure - and I look forward to doing it again!
