Buggheart says "The mudpie has come full circle. " about LUSH Mud Flats soap

The Verdict: Mudflats is my new favorite soap from LUSH. — Just the Facts: Mudflats soap is made by LUSH which is a company that makes unique, fresh, animal-friendly bath, body, and beauty products. A few weeks ago I was wandering around LUSH looking for the few products I have not tried yet when the sales associate suggested Mudflats soap. I never gave it a chance as it doesn't look very interesting. It's basically just a big brown blob of soap without much character but when I sniffed it I knew I had to give it a try and I'm very glad I did. — LUSH describes Mudflats as being a bit of mud, a pinch of lavender, and a sprig of rosemary. They go on to say that it is cathartic, detoxifying and takes you to a whole new level of clean and that the earthy arome hits me the instant the water begins to flow. With the exception of the touchy feely stuff, I'd say that description is pretty...

This is a Lush product, I very rarely purchase, but on the occasion, I just can't resist the amazing smell that is somewhere between gummy bears and black berries. Weird? Maybe, but I love this scent, and hope Lush makes more products with it. — — The product itself is best used on dry skin, in my opinion, which is messy, but also fun making yourself look like some sort of weird sea monster from the Black Lagoon, and isn't that what Lush is all about? Fun. The exfoliation is good, though not as much as Aqua Miribilis, and is a bit lost after you take a shower to wash it off. (At least if you are taking a full shower including washing, shampooing your hair and shaving). Perhaps it's best to just rinse it off and be done with it, but that seems a little pointless. — — All in all, 3 stars for scent and sense of fun. —...

According to the label on the bottle, LUSH Flying Saucers is "a honey shower gel with lashings of essential oils to prevent the need to throw saucers." I took that to mean it was a product with some uplifting notes to wake you up and improve your mood. This shower gel contains honey, water, ylang ylang oil, palmarossa oil, vetivert oil, cypress oil, perfume, and some synthetic ingredients like sodium laureth sulfate. — The main fragrance component is true honey--like the kind that you use in your tea when you are sick. The honey fragrance is tempered a bit by the herbal notes. I'm not usually into herbal scents, but I like the way that the other ingredients temper but also enhance the main honey fragrance. — Flying Saucers Shower Gel is a concentrated product. I only need to use a dime-sized amount on a bath pouf to produce enough lather to wash my entire body. Although the 8.4 fluid ounce bottle is somewhat expensive...

I bought Booth's Ginger Sugar Body Scrub on clearance at Ulta and I really love it. I am not familiar with the Booth line of products but I am happy with my first purchase. The ginger scent is very pleasant! I love fragrance (and the power of fragrance) and this is not too heavy in my opinion. Body scrubs come in a variety of textures and as far as exfoliating goes, I'd give this a "medium" in regards to the exfoliating granules. — Sugar gently polishes skin to perfection and is not oily/greasy. Cocoa and Shea Butters hydrate renewed skin, while Ginger's warm, spicy scent relaxes. Simple ingredients that are right on target with this scrub. — How to use Booth's Ginger Sugar Body Scrub: — Massage scrub over clean, moist skin. Rinse thoroughly. Pat dry. Avoid using on freshly shaved skin (that would hurt!). — Cost: $6-$7 for a 6.8 oz. jar —...

I've been using CVS Stress Relief Body Wash for a few months now. — — I have sensitive skin and had very bad dermatitus around my neck last year. Since then, I've stopped using cologne and I've tried to find body washes for my daily shower that would get me clean and smell clean, without irritating skin, particularly on my face and neck. — — I was attracted to this product, CVS' house brand, similar to AVEENO Stress Relief Body Wash because of the inclusion of collodial oatmeal. I learned years ago, why my son had chicken pox, that AVEENO had very soothing lotions. It was later that I learned that the oatmeal made it so. — — I was also attracted by the price. Their regular price is $5.99 and they occasionally have 3 for the price of two sales. The regular price of the AVEENO similar product is $7.49. — — It's very easy to use. I squeeze about a tablespoon into a pouf and then lather it up. I sue it to wash all over, including my...

I'm a big fan of the Skindecent line of bath and body products. I also love super-strong exfoliating scrubs that feel like someone is scratching my skin with their fingernails. Skindecent's Bermuda Beach Smoother is pretty much my ideal body scrub and something that I will use for as long as it is available. — This bath scrub contains sugar, castor seed oil, soybean oil, coconut oil, cocoa seed butter, shea butter, fragrance, and a few other ingredients. Skindecent has over 100 fragrances from which to choose and there truly is something for everyone, including bakery, botanical, drink, fruit, designer duplicate, romantic, and seasonal scents. I've used Bermuda Beach Smoother in Pink Grapefruit, Buttermint, and Lemon Sugar and have been very happy with them. — When you apply Skindecent Bermuda Beach Smoother, it feels like you are smearing loads of beach sand across your skin. It isn't sand, of course, but this body scrub contains so much...

This soap is one of my Lush favorites. Thank goodness I live in Orlando where we have two fabulous stores. This soap is perfect for Summer. It exfoliates and makes you smell great, lemony, but not like Pledge furniture polish. I recommend using it with a wash cloth so the sand gets distributed evenly and doesn't scratch your skin. However, the sandy side of the soap is nice for rough elbows and heels....

I have found this Simply Basic brand at Walmart a really good alternative. I love the smell of this romantic sweet pea. It is just as good as the higher priced item i was buying before. I feel very pampered in a tub filled with this, and I use it as a wash when I shower.
The Verdict - I didn't really want this "flavor" of Philosophy shower gel but since it came in a set with flavors that I really did want I dealt with it.

I knew halfway through my Memorial Day party that I was going to have to review this product for Viewpoints. We were having family over for the party, so the day before, while waiting for my son to get out of the orthodontist, I strolled into Bath and Body Works to buy some hand soap. I don't know what happens in the bathroom that doubles as the onesfor guests and my kids, but the hand soap can disappear in days. Sometimes I wonder if because of the fruit-related theme, they eat it. I wasn't looking for a specific fruit this time, and just wanted a nice subtle color to go in my peach bathroom. I liked the thought of the gentle foaming soap, instead of a having lotion-based one, so I chose the Gentle Foaming Soap in Sensual Amber. — — Mind you, my thought was not on the word "sensual" in the name of the product, being that it was going in my kids' bathroom. I just liked the color. I don't think the soap is affecting them "that way," and besides, it would be hard to tell,...
