julzyann7 says "I am addicted to this razor!" about Venus Breeze

I used to use disposable razors religously, because I thought they were the cheaper alternative to buying a razor, and having to buy new blades for it constantly. I bought this Venus Breeze and I am kicking myself for not doing it sooner! The moisture strips do make a huge difference. I still usually use shaving gel on my legs, but if I am in a big hurry and just want to spot shave, I don't have to use the gel because the moisture strips do the trick! Only downfall is they do fall off after a week or too. But long after the strips are gone, the head still shaves! I have left one on for MONTHS (and I shave EVERY day), and it still shaves great. I have stretched them more than most I am sure, but it proves that it can be a cost-conscious decision. At the rate I change them out, they are not any more expensive than a disposable razor! I absolutely love the way it shaves, and the fact I hardly ever get nicks and cuts because its shape forms to those hard to reach spots!
...

sebarnet says "Close shave, but ribbon of moisture turns junky when wet." about Gillette Venus Embrace Razor

When Gillette announced their new 5 blade razor was still on the same platform as their old 3 blade venus, I was pretty excited. No need to buy the new razor, just different blade cartridges. The razor was fantastic. Provided a clean, close shave, just what I was looking for. But after getting the ribbon of moisture wet and leaving it on the ledge of the bathtub, as I've lost my oh-so-convenient shower pod, it became like an adhesive, sticking to the surface. When I went to pull it off the surface, nearly half of the "moisture" was left on the surface of my bathtub instead of the razor. I guess this isn't entirely their fault, as they do provide the shower pod when you buy the razor and not just the blade cartridges. However, when traveling, which I do somewhat frequently, I find it sticking to other items in my beauty case. I'm not exactly a fan of a sticky bottle of shampoo or body wash.
...

elvie686 says "The Schick Intuition razor is incredibly convenient!" about Schick Intuition Razor

I absolutely love the schick intuition razor. It makes shaving easier by providing razor heads with the shave lotion built right in around the blades. This is nice because most of my shaving cream ends up getting rinsed down the drain right after I apply it when in the shower. This one step shaving process makes shaving so quick and easy, which is great for those times when you need to get a quick shave in. Also, the intuition razor provides a close shave and leaves skin silky smooth with no razor bumps. The replaceable razor heads come in a variety of different formulations for whatever skin issue you might have such as dry or sensitive skin. Also, the built in shave lotion bar lasts about 10 shaves. The replacement heads are a little costly (it's $12 for 6 cartridges) but the extra price is totally worth paying due to the fact that you're not buying shave cream and it's so convenient. I would highly reccomend this product to everyone who is looking to make shaving quicker...
...

ML2007 says "Smooth Away does not make hair go away" about Smooth Away - As Seen on TV Smooth Away- As seen on TV

As my title says, Smooth Away does not help hair go away, at all. I had seen the tv commercials and had heard the advertisements and was skeptical at first and for quite some time. Then I went to my local electronics store, where I never thought I would ever find shaving products and I saw the price. I thought I was getting a good deal, but I was still skeptical that such a product really could get rid of hair so supposedly easy. Before I got home, I opened up the package and started reading the instructions, which are pretty to understand and not to my surprise, nothing came off. I kept doing the circles in both directions and finally after 5 times of rubbing my poor skin, I could feel something different about that one area. The next day I tried another area on my leg, but again I had to keep doing it just so that I could see any results. I wasn't surprised, I was just disappointed because I was right about being cautious to buy such a product that is too good to be true.
...

This Gillette razor works great. My wife purchased it for me a while ago and I will never use another razor again. I used to have such problems with knicks and having to throw out my disposable razors so often. This razor doesn't have those same issues. It lasts a very long time and I never have to worry about cutting my face. I would recommend this product to anyone searching for a reliable and durable razor. It only costs about $8 and you can buy it at any drugstore or superstore. It is definitly worth the $8!
...

I've actually been using this razor for a long time because it seemed the best value for the money. It might have been at the time, but razors are changing all the time and I'm ready to swtich it up and move on to the next quality up. This is just the plain Venus razor, not the Venus Divine or anything like that. It does the job, but it goes dull quickly and it doesn't shave nearly as close as I'd like it to. It has 3 blades and a protective cushioning, which is certainly something worthwhile and certainly better than disposable razors (which I will never use again!), but there is still something wanting. The one thing I really love about it is that it has a pivoting head, which makes it super easy to shave around the diffiucult, bumpy places that are easy to cut, like the ankles and the knees. I will always buy pivoting head razors. At this point in my life, I am just ready to make the switch to a higher quality razor and I'm willing to pay a few extra dollars to do that.
...

chemmy81 says "Slice and dice, baby!" about BIC Soleil Scented Handle Razor

Holy crap, these are the worst name-brand razors out there. I tried them once months ago and they sliced and diced me in ways that Schick and Gillette never did. I complained to BIC and they thought maybe I got defective ones (since every single one sliced me up). They sent me a coupon for new ones for free.

I went to a completely different store months later so they weren't from the same batch... And wouldn't you know, my legs are sliced and diced. I think the main problem is the angle of the blades and that they do not have the thin wires like Schick to prevent you from cutting yourself. I won't buy these ever again. They're ok for your underarms but anything else and you're bleeding.

I'm really surprised because I expected higher quality from BIC. Heck, their old school cheapie razors did better than these! The only nice thing I can say is that the grip is in the perfect place (Schick has their grip doubling as the blade release so I've lost many blades that way).
...

I use to have the intition razor but didn't like it because I couldn't get a close enough shave and always woud nick myself. So, I was borrowsing in the razor aisle scoping out a new razor and saw the new Gillette Venus Vibrance Razor. It was sold in a pretty package and for under $10.00, I received one Venus Vibrance razor, one cartridge, one AAA battery. The 3-blade cartridge gives an ultra close shave, Moisture-Glide strips for a gentle shave Interchangeable Blade Refill Cartridges, Soothing vibrations to exfoliate dull, dry skin, and comes in a pretty pearl pink color for us Women.

I just purshased the Quattro for Women with sensitive skin, I got a very close shave and was very pleased with this product. I have tried all kinds of disposable shavers and I find that the Quattro for women with sensitive skin works very good and makes my skin feel very soft and smooth after use. I will be telling all my friends about this Quattro shaver and in courage them to buy one and try it for their selfs and let me know what they think, I'm sure they will be very pleased with the results after they experience this Quattro for women with sensitive skin. I found a coupon in this Sunday's newspaper for half price and that is a very good deal for me as I'm on a fixed income. I just love the smooth shave I get from this Quattro for women with sensitive skin, as well as a very close shave makes it the best shaver I have ever used and I will keep buying the replacement blades as well because of the comfortable handle,it fits my hand great.
...

The Braun 8585 Activator Self-Cleaning Shaving System 3 series shaver is wonderful. I bought the self cleaning one for my husband and he loved it. He gets a really close shave with this shaver and no hair bumps. It even has a trimmer to help get his mustache. After he is done with shaving with this razor his face is so soft and smooth. I can now cuddle up nest to him without havingto worry about getting scratched from his beard or any missed hairs on his cheek. I woul recomend this razor to anyone that wants to get thie face really smooth and not miss any hairs. It doesn't pull the hairs and can be used when ever where ever. The self cleaning is great. I haven't heard any complaints. The cleaning process which is one of the main things that my husband wanted can be a little noisy at times but overall it's fine. We just close the door to our bathroom and we don't hear anything at all, and the razor is nice and clean and ready for the next time my husband shaves.

The best part about this razor is that it glides very easily over skin - even if it is a bit rough, dry or scaly. It has fairly cushy and thick conditioning strips that not only make the shaving process more pleasant, but also keep your skin safe. I'd watch out with the brand new razors because the blades are very sharp (I guess that's what it takes to do a good job), s normally when I switch out the blades, I do nick myself the first time I use the brand new razor. It also comes with a little shower holder that suctions onto the wall, making it easy to access. But, beware, I've placed the razor down on my shower ledge, and it essentially turns the conditioning strips to goo - it gets very mushy, moist and gross. Be sure to keep it in the holder to avoid that happening. Though fairly expensive, it works well, and can often be found on sale at drugstores, Target, and other online sites. Worth it for a smooth shave!
...

CecilyIsabella says "Above Average but not the best" about Venus Venus Embrace Razor

I have been using the Venus Embrace replace-able head razor for women for over a year or so now. I was first very impressed with this razor but before I was just using cheap disposable razors so of course I was going to be impressed. After time went on though, I realized this razor had several down falls.

Does the Venus Embrace for Women give you a good clean shave?
The answer is yes- for the first few times. But after using it several times the moisture strip went dry, the blades turned pretty dull, and I needed to replace the razor head which sells for a pack of four for $13- A bit pricey for just a few uses.

Does it cut you alot?
No. The only times I have been cut by the razor were when I was being uncareful and not paying attention. Otherwise, my legs are always cleanly shaven and cut free.

Would I recommend this to you?
It really depends. Do you feel like spending the money for the cartridges but get a good shave? Or would you rather buy some cheap men's disposable razors from Target-...
...

The Gillette Venus Vibrance razor is one of the latest razors of the Venus line of women's razors out on the market. These razors provide one of the smoothest and closest shaves I have ever had! The multiple blades and rounded head allow the razor to easily glide up and down your leg, preventing minor nicks you sometimes get with disposable razors. However, when you do cut yourself with this razor it does hurt! The Vibrance razor's vibrating quality makes the shave even smoother and helps to prevent you from nicking yourself while shaving! The razor does get hair stuck in it very easily and because of the way the razor is made, it is sometimes very difficult to clean your razor so you end up going through razors a little more quickly than you would with another type of razor (i think the shave is worth it though!). The razor can be expensive, depending on where you purchase it and when. There are a lot of stores that run a pretty good sale on the product and sometimes you...
...

Ummm... no. I switched to this product because it was cheaper than my normal brand, and I thought it wouldn't make a difference. It did. I was wrong. First of all, the blades are wider, making it hard to get into underarm crevices without cutting myself. It also has no moisture strip, which I also thought wouldn't matter, but after shaving I have to put lotion under my arms to keep them from peeling with dryness. My product came with a replacable head, and the head I'm using often falls off while I'm using it. I'm too cheap to go out and buy another razor while the one I'm using is still sharp, but I don't think I'll ever try to use this brand again. What is worse, I'm a huge coupon shopper, and my product came with a decent coupon that I'm not even thinking of using since it works so ill. Now, this razor isn't too bad for legs since it's so wide and doens't take as long, but it is advertized to women, who are generally encouraged to shave more than our legs.
...

The Schick Intuition is a women's razor with a specially formulated lubricant bar molded around the blades. The starter kit comes with a thick plastic base (usually in a pastel color like peach, baby blue, or pink) and two razor refills, which come in their own individual plastic cases so you can take a refill in your bag without worrying about it rubbing off on your personal items. Refills usually come in packages of three or four. The lubricant bar is meant to replace shave gel, making it quicker and simpler to shave in the shower.

Some varieties of the lubricant bar are meant to be more moisturizing, meaning you might be able to go without putting on lotion after showering; other varieties are specially formulated for sensitive skin. I still put lotion on after using the Intuition on my legs, but I would say the skin on my legs is definitely softer than when I use a normal razor with soap or shave gel.

mailforkim2 says "Mach 3 - A man's razor but great for women too" about Gillette Mach 3 Refillable Razor

I started using the Mach 3 when I ran out of razors and needed one right now. I used my guy's razor in a pinch.

I liked it so well that I just went out and got one of my own. Now we can just buy the refill cartridges in larger packages to get a better deal on the price.

The refill cartridges are a bit expensive but I think that because they last so long you really save money in the end. My disposable razors were only lasting me for one or two shaves and then I had to pitch them. I can use the Mach 3 up to eight times before I notice a decline in the blade.

Of course we each have our own because not many men want to share their razor, can't say I do either!

I rarely get a nick or cut with this razor. Only if I try and overuse the blade. It is sharp enough that I do not even need to buy shaving cream but can just use my bodywash. The head pivots and I do not have trouble doing my knees or ankles.

As an added plus the handles last forever. I have never needed to replace mine and it still...
...

alphabettafish says "Bar Concept More Annoying Than Useful" about Intuition Razor I don't know

I find the concept of attaching a moisturizing bar with the razor more annoying than helpful. The added weight of the moisturizing bar to the razor itself makes me paranoid about cutting myself with it, since I can't really see what I'm doing.

The razor is clunky and I feel clumsy and awkward when using it even though I'm not a clumsy person. I admit it's different than your average razor, but I don't like the uniqueness. Maybe there's someone out there that does, but I don't like it at all. The bar seems to get in the way of shaving, making it more difficult to maneuver. The razor itself is also very big, so it's not very convenient for someone who is constantly on the go, and is inconvenient for storing.

I got the green one, which kind of smells like cucumber melon, which gets irritating after awhile, especially for me since it reminds me of my middle and high school gym when it seemed like so many girls all decided to rub cucumber melon scented lotion after p.e.

All in all, a very novel,...
...

lilacscandal says "Great buy for you money!" about BIC silky touch

These are the best Twin blade razors for your money. They are not so cheap as the dollar store ones, but pretty close. BUT, you get more shaves out of these then anything that comes close. Usually, you get the bonus pack that has 14 razors in pretty colors. They really hold up and do a great job. My 17 year old girl and I have gone thru all brands, electrics, triple, quads, refill-ables, THE WORKS, but always come back to our old standbys

Sturdy plastic handles that don't slip in the shower

Blades that last more than one shave

Economically, but reliable

Best place to get....Walmart
...

amysqs says "Intuition Plus is the best for my sensitive legs" about Intuition Razor Schick Intuition Razor

I have very sensitive skin on my legs making it very hard for me to shave every day. I usually have to go a few days in between before I can shave again. Once I tried the Schick Intuition Razor I was so happy!!

I found that my legs do not get razor burn and they are not sensitive at all when I use this razor, even if I use it day after day! It's great because I hate stubble on my legs and they always feel silky smooth now.

There are two negative things about this razor though. When you use a new razor head the actual razor tends to disappear into the surrounding block that contains the skin moisturing cream. After you use it one time though, it doesn't do this anymore. The other negative about this razor is the skin moisturizing agent that surrounds the razor head disappears really fast! I mean, I can use one in a week if I'm shaving every day. And the cartridges are very expensive. For a three pack I priced them at a little over $11. That's a pretty crazy price to me....
...
