GigiandAdonai says "Lady Gillette--Daisy 3 or Venus Breeze--I'll go back to Classic " about Gillette Daisy 3

Gillette has introduced a new pink razor. It's the Daisy 3--that's right! They now have a lady's razor with three blades. I needed to buy more razors when I bought that new Aveeno Positively Smooth Shave Gel (see the review) so I took a few steps over and there were the razors. Now I have to pay close attention to the razors because remember; Personna also manufactures a pink one (did a review on that too).
I have been reading many reviews on the lady's razor with three and now five blades. Someone decided to really improve their product and skipped the four blades. Anyway, I began thinking that perhaps this was Gillette's way of competing with other companies but then I realized that Venus Breeze is also manufactured by Gillette. What is their marketing ploy? But how would I know how effective they were without a comparison group? Then it hit me-I was given a Venus Breeze with cartridges while on vacation. The Venus Breeze I got in May only has 3 blades so if any...
...

cmohr80 says "Doesn't save blades at all!" about Save A Blade Save A Blade

The Save-A-Blade automatic razor sharpener is a patented Micro Honing Technology that uses a rotary sanding wheel to sharpen and renew used razors in your shaver. The commercials claim that the technology gives you a closer, cleaner shave, saves you money by leaving your blades lasting longer (by 200 extra shaves), it's easy to use and works on all razors. An as seen on TV product, Save-A-Blade is $19.99 plus shipping and handling and you get a free 18 piece grooming kit when you order.

The concept is appealing, especially the saving money part and it is easy to use. I did wonder, though, if there's replacement sanding wheels when the one in it gets dull, which I imagine it would. We found Save-A-Bladeat our local Walmart and decided to give it a try!

What a load of crock! Save-A-Blade does not work at all. My husband sharpened his razor with it and there was NO DIFFERENCE in look or feel of the blades! While he got only 2 extra shaves from it, barely and lots of razor irritation...
...

I absolutely will use Gillette's Venus Vibrance Soothing Vibrations Razor as many times as possible! this is the best feeling I've ever had for any product of this kind. Ever. I will be giving away all the unsused razors I still have in my bathroom closet: but I am keeping and buying Gillette's Venus Vibrance Soothing Vibrations Razor from now on. I am so impressed by the gliding sensation leaving clean softness, "as smooth as silk" does come to mind. My overnight guests will sadly be given some visitors gifts that include all the useless generic name and cheapo brand razors (from a bag) that I used to keep around.

(Ugh. let them figure out that I use the good stuff!)

If you'd like to know how good this Venus razor is, just use your usual razor on one area where you'd usually shave (legs, armpits, you know where, preferably *your own!*- wink wink) and use the Venus Vibrance Soothing Vibrations Razor right next or opposite to that area.

You will be so amazed, pleased and CONVINCED!....
...

I was a little skeptical of using the dreaded 5 bladed razor, because I was sure I was going to knick a few layers of skin off of my legs. Surprisingly, just as it said on the packaging, the Gillette Venus Embrace Women's razor did contour to my skin and with the conditioning bar, was smooth and unirritating the whole time. When I finished in shaving in the shower, my legs were not only smooth, but I didn't have one cut, or any razor burn. I probly could have went without applying lotion to my legs afterward too. I am amazed!...

I received the Gillette Venus Embrace razor for free from a website I'm a member of. I was happy to try it out, but wasn't expecting it to be any different than other disposable razors. Boy was I surprised when I pulled the razor out of the package!

The first thing I noticed was the comfortable gel handle. There is NO WAY this razor will slip out of your hands in the bath or shower. Water just beads right off the handle and it's really easy to hold on to.

The next thing I noticed was that the head of the razor pivots. Also, the razor head is a bit larger than a normal razor, so it will shave a larger area at one time. And because of the way it pivots, it glides over you skin and around all the curves of your legs. Even the knees!

What really makes Gillette Venus Embrace special is the FIVE blades! Yes, five blades that effectively removes unwanted hair and dramatically smooths skin. With all these very unique features, Gillete Venus Embrace is at the absolute TOP of my list...
...

I love Schick's Intuition razors. I buy them for my female friends all the time. One year for Christmas, I made several friends a "My favorite things" basket and I included these razors in it. This razor makes shaving your legs easy and quick. I am a new mom with very little time to take a shower and shave and this razor helps me stay clean shaven. I am a big fan of the Intuition razor. I doubt I will own any other razor....

I received the new 5-blade Gillette Venus Embrace Razor free this week. I was excited because one it was free and I needed a new razor. I've been using the original Gillette Venus 3-blade razor for several years now. It's easy to get every hair now. The 5 blades individually adjust to hug each curve. The new soft gel handle has great control. The pivoting head reaches hard to shave areas. It has a protective moisture ribbon on the blade for a smooth glide.

When I shave, I always bathe with warm water so that the hair will cut easier. I always use shaving gel when shaving because soap will clog the razor. I replace my razor blades when they get...
...

I have pretty sensative skin in the shavable areas, and have always gotten rashes and bumps from the traditional women's razors, however, felt as though i had to deal with the discomfort because there were no other options. That is until one day I decided to try my husbands new Fusion Power razor blades. What an amazingingly close shave, no bumps or tenderness afterwards and the regrowth was pretty soft as well.

I use the razors with either my body wash or hair conditioner and it seems to work just as well, if not better, than any other shaving cream and razor I've ever tried to date!
...

The Gillette Embrace was not what I was expecting it to be. I was a bit unsure how 5 blades would end up being better than the typical 3...I now know. The 5 blades just glided over my skin. The typical 3 bladed razors would always give me some trouble on my thighs, I didn't have any uncomfortable feelings anywhere on my legs or underarms. I didn't have any nicks or cuts or razor burn, and that's a great feeling.

My one and only reason for not giving this all 5 stars for those wonderful 5 blades is because it's said that you can use the Embrace without shaving gel... I have to disagree. Before using the Embrace I was using the Intuition, the Embrace blades do not offer enough of a moisture strip to go with out shaving gel, thus leading to another expense and one less star.
...

cmohr80 says "Smoothes the legs better than the regular Venus!" about Gillette Venus Embrace Women's Razor

I received the new Gillette Venus Embrace in the mail the other day. I already have the original Venus and was content with it. However, since it arrived to me for free, I decided to try it!

WOW! WHAT A DIFFERENCE! The 5-blade upgrade from the traditional 3-blade Venus, really gives your legs a smooth and gentle shave, with the help of the "Protectuve Ribbon of Moisture for a smooth glide" (as Gillette states, it's true).

As a busy mom, I don't always have time to fuss with my own personal care. As such, I had no intension of upgrading my original 3-blade Venus to the 5-blade Venus Embrace. With the blessing of a mailing doing so for me, I am so thankful I received it and I wil be retiring the original Venus for the Venus Embrace as soon as the replacement blades for the original run out.

Now, I did some research and the price averages around $8.00 for the shaver itself with 2 replacement blades, the refills are $13.49 for a pack of 4 (if you have a membership, go to Costco...
...

jro says "Smells good on me, but smells like disaster to my razor" about C.O. Bigelow Foaming Shave Gel

Preface: I wet shave with a double edged safety razor. Your grandfather might have had one, except of course, if he had a scary (awesome) Sweeney Todd style straight razor.

C.O. Bigelow apparently has a barber line of foams, soaps, etc that are supposed to be like you'd find, well, at a fancy barber. I'm a fan of the no artificial colors and no animal testing that they seem to practice in general. And, the particular scend I have "Elixer Black", smells great.

So what's the problem? Once foamed up with my brush and on my face, this foam is too thick. It seems to clog my razor giving me a rather rough shave. This is in contrast to their "Premium Shave Cream" which seems more normal. Being that my razor only has one blade on each side, I can't imagine what this would do to your more normal 3 to 15 bladed variety.
...

Had a discount for the Gillette Power Fusion Razor so I bought one. I have generally scoffed at the additional blade above my usual brand which is the Mach 3 with three blades figuring it was a more expensive marketing ploy.

To my suprise, it was the closest shave I ever had. I had a thick 4-day growth and it was not that easy to pull the shaver over rough areas. I ended up with a close shave with no nicks or cuts.

This is an excellent product although it is a bit more costly for the blades than other brands
...

I purchased the Schick Quattro Disposable Razor for Women not too long ago. I had a good coupon for them. I wouldn't normally buy such expensive razors. I must say I was disapointed. The first couple shaves were great, but after 2 or 3 uses the razor became dull and started to pull. For a product that costs so much I think it should last a little longer. I feel like the pack of 10 razors from the dollar store is a better deal. I can throw those away after 1 use and I get a nice clean shave every time and even with just using them once they last longer than the pack of Schick Quattro Disposable Razor for Women....

Bryan-Carey says "Remington R-1000 Shaves Your Skin and Cleans Itself" about Remington R- 1000 Powerclean Titanium Shaving System

Shaving is a routine most men perform every day due to the quick growth of hair on the face and neck. Many methods exist to remove this unwanted hair, from disposable razors, to straight razors, to electric. Most agree that blades provide the closest shave, but electric razors offer more convenience and speed. There was a time when I used nothing but the old- fashioned hand- held bladed razor, but I now use both an electric razor and a disposable and the electric razor that currently meets my needs is the Remington R- 1000 Powerclean Titanium Shaving System, a self- cleaning electric razor.

Electric Razor Commentary:

Remington R- 1000 Powerclean Titanium Shaving System is a hand- held electric razor with a separate base for storage and for cleaning. The razor features a cordless design with three floating heads designed to keep the blades in contact with the skin as much as possible, for the quickest shave.

Like I said, I was once a disposable razor type of guy and rarely used anything...
...

I purchased this VERY expensive Bruan Pulsonic shaver thinking that, for the price, it would provide me a better shave with fewer strokes than other shavers that I have used. I bought into the "pulsonic" concept and thought it would help.

But I am extremely disappointed in this shaver. I have found it to take MORE strokes to shave than with a less expensive Braun model or a Remington that I had. In fact, I have found it almost impossible to get some of the under the chin hairs with this model. The unit needs to be cleaned after pretty much every shave to have any chance of getting those hairs.

"You get what you pay for" is not applicable to this product. I was really hoping for the next step in shaving technology, finally a better shaver. But unfortunately, despite my hopes, this was not it.

...

autumnbreeze26 says "The Gillette Venus Razor is the BEST disposable razor invented!" about Gillette Venus Razor For Women

I have been using the Gillette Venus Razor pretty much since they first put it on the market. This razor causes very minimal, if any, cuts or razor burn and provides the smoothest shave I've ever experienced. I never have to worry about being careful in those areas where you're most likely to knick yourself. Because I don't have to be careful, the amount of time it takes to shave has been lessened. Gillette has also come out with different kinds of the Venus, which all seem to be great. The only negative things I would say is that they're a little bit pricey and they don't seem to stay sharp for very many shaves. But the good definitely out-weighs the bad....

thebillman says "This Norelco Razor is great." about Philips Norelco Rechargeable Tripleheader Cordless/Cord Razor Model 8150XL

This Norelco is a wonderful razor. It provides a close shave compared to other electric razors. I have tried other electric razors, and Norelco consistantly provides the closest and best shave. The razor keeps a good charge, as it does not need much charging compared to older razors. It needs charging less than once a month....

leapleapfrog says "4 stars" about Gillette Mach 3 Turbo Men's Razor

For a standard set of razors, this is pretty good. The blades stay sharp for well over 2 months, and you are able to shave with ease. Gillette makes a great product here, and I would be happy to recommend it to anyone needing a quality shave. Also, I have found that it does not rust easily, and can be used for longer then it's useful life. A great idea for the money....
