this2shallpass19 says "Not just hair color, this is a whole hair color system!" about L'Oreal Superior Preference Dream Blonde

Years ago, when I used to dye my hair (naturally dark blonde, light brown) from a box, it would turn an embarrassing shade of orange. After a couple weeks the color would fade to something close to what it was supposed to be. For the last four years, I have been going to the salon to color my hair, but it is just too expensive. I decided I was going to try a box and do it myself. I picked up the L'Oreal Superior Preference Dream Blonde because it says that it has anti-brass qualities. I have to say that I am impressed. Although there was a slight strawberry blonde color, it was not nearly as orange as others I have tried in the past. I will definitely use this again.

The Hair Coloring System Includes:

1) Pure Colour Moisture Infuser - "Protects even the most delicate blonde hair before you colour with moisture infusion to provide a dose of extreme hydration."

2) Conditioning Colour Gel - "The state-of-the-art Pure Bonding Technology features the latest, most delicate...
...

Karen726 says "Not In Ten" about Clairol Perfect 10 Haircolor

I loved the idea of complete gray coverage and color in 10 minutes which Clairol Perfect 10 Hair Color claims it can do. Then I left in on for 10 minutes and while the color was pretty, the gray was right where I left it! So the next time I tried 20 (I color every 3 weeks because the roots come in fast & furious). Nice color again, but the gray was persistent. So I tried 30 and that was the charm. So couldn't I just use traditional 25-30 minute products? No, because those I have to leave on for 45 minutes. I have scattered gray and some of those come in wiry. I do like the way my hair feels after I use this product and it is easy to style which isn't the case with some of the other hair color options. I like the gloss treatment which doesn't last for 6 weeks, but does condition well. The color does oxidize regardless of which shmapoo I use (and I use only shampoos for color treated hair) and I wash my hair every other day. The comb attachment is a joke if you have gray. ...
...

AmyA says "Great colors of hair for Halloween, but drying" about Hollywood Color hair spray

Tis that time where we all look for that unique look for Halloween or those other fun holidays/ sport events etc... where you want a fun hair color that is not the norm.

Hollywood Color hair spraywill give you wild color look if you want to be orange, blue, grey, red, purple or even yellow. You have to spray it a few times in an area to really get that super bold look and the sprays are easy to use...just spray and go.

Things to remember: You might want to use this product outside because it has that strong aerosol scent and unless your looking for a new color for your walls, floor and sink, this would be another reason to do it outside, but if you would get it on areas I named above it does wipe down easy.

Another thing to think about: Major conditioning after using this product. I used it one year when I was vampire chick (lost those pictures when my hard drive crashed) and I was so shocked at how dry my hair got...Super conditioning will be needed afterwords and then...
...

I am a blonde so coloring at home has always made me nervous. I always ended up really brassy or really green. I decided to try Nice and Easy with Color technology and it worked great. I have had alot of friends question about it and how good it looked. The color blended very well and looks professionally done. I will be using this product again....

unchienne says "Not a dull strand in sight" about L'Oreal Feria

After a really horrible highlighting experience at a salon which gave me platinum blonde streaks in my dark brown hair, I was loathe to try and get it fixed by another professional...especially at the $50+ price tag. I waited a couple of months, living with the color rather than rush into another chemical job, and settled on Feria hair coloring purchased at a local megamart store. A friend of mine had colored her hair with this product back when it first came out, and I remembered thinking how nice and shimmery the results were. My biggest fear in at-home coloring is ending up with a dull, matte finish in addition to badly damaged hair.

The process was similar to other hair coloring kits. The gloves were latex though, which was a nice change from the cheap, plastic gloves in some sets. I have just above the shoulder length hair and one kit was plenty to completely cover all areas. The smell was tolerable compared to some I've tried, and I felt little to no heat or burning. ...
...

All right the next time I post pictures of myself you're going to be wondering what happened to me. I have dark brown almost black hair and at the insistence of my sister-in-law I got my hair highlighted professionally back in November. It wasn't just a highlight--it was three colors, highlights and low lights, the whole kit-n-kaboodle. Linda had to pay approximately $125 for this service. That's just a little too steep for this single girl's budget. I will admit I loved the color and the new hairstyle. I was turning heads everywhere I went and it was making me self-conscious. Everyone said it made the "cute" girl look more mature. Well, I like cute. As you get older--who cares about mature? We want to look young, right? My hair grows fast so in June I took the plunge (financially) and paid to have my hair highlighted again. This time my hairstylist only charged a mere $85 for two shades. Well, leading up to Labor Day my roots were starting to show and they are...
...

I have been covering the gray at home for sure. I use the Revlon Colorsilk. On sale you can buy it for about $2.50 a box which is a lot better than paying $75 for my hairdresser to do it for me. The best part of it is, even my hairdresser said he cannot believe what a GREAT job this does on my hair. He said the color is great and you really cannot tell that I color my hair. To me, that is the biggest accolade I could get. So why pay even $10 when you can do it for under $3???...

I've tried every brand of hair color on the market, and Colorsilk is (just like my mother-in-law warned me it would be) the very best. Tends to dry my hair out a little more than other brands, but a few good conditionings remedies that. The color lasts a lot longer than the others as well....

It's bad enough that I'm prematurely graying, but it's even worse when I'm ruining perfectly good sheets. Call me frugal or call me crazy, but I was dumb enough to purchase two boxes of this product before trying it because I had some great coupons.

I've been coloring my own hair at home for a few years so I'm not a novice to doing it myself. I've always had good results until I purchased Garnier Nutrisse Nourishing Color Creme #69 Intense Auburn.

Even with daily washings, the color was coming out of my hair and onto my clothes and bedding two weeks after I colored my hair. I would go to the gym to workout and come home with red stains on the neckline of my t-shirts. I would wake up in the morning and, you guessed it, discover red-stained sheets.

Wanting to give Garnier another chance and not wanting to throw out the second box of coloring that I had purchased (I'm frugal, what can I say?), I decided to give it one more try. Big mistake. Once again, my t-shirts and...
...

The best hair coloring kit.
Not only because it is only 10 minutes long bu the results last as long and as vibrant as the competitors and only a 1/8th of the price at a salon.
I had some purple panels put in my hair for a hair modeling show and when I got tired of having to re-dye the purple every other day, I decided to go back to black (perfect 10 only has black brown).
This box not only hid the super pale blonde streaks left behind but still didn't fade after 3 months.
I bought this after seeing the new brush style applicator. I've been coloring my hair at home for years and always had issues with getting the dye everywhere but my head. The brush makes it so easy, I didn't spill a drop! And for those of you who prefer the traditional style nozzle for hair dye there's one in the box as well. The best part is that it only takes ten minutes, and there isn't a bad smell to it like most dyes (it's still there but very faint). The color covers evenly and the conditioner that comes with it is better than any that I've tried to date, I use it exclusively now. While it is the priciest at-home dye on the market it's definitely worth the price....

I have used several hair color products and I have finally found one that does not make my hair very dry after coloring. First you use a "protection" product for your dry ends before you even begin to color (I think you leave it on for a couple of minutes or so). Then you have the typical hair color treatment. But when you are finished they have also included a special conditioner in the kit which leaves my hair feeling and looking very healthy and moisturized. Thumbs up for this product! I use Maple Brown!...

LoveisJoy says "Fanci-Full Can Touch Up Hair Color In A Hurry" about Fanci-Full Touch Up Stick

I wanted a temporary fix to cover a few gray strands, and I heard about FanciFull Touch Up Stick. I wasn't sure if it would work for my situation, but it only cost a few bucks and it was only temporary anyway. I decided it was worth a try.
Out of the package, the Fanci Full Touch Up Stick resembles a short, stubby crayon. To apply, I dampened the stick with water, and after a minute or so began to color my gray strands. On the plus side, the color did take and stayed put until I washed it out. On the negative side, the color (medium brown) didn't look at all natural. In addition, it was harder to apply the color down a longer strand than it would be if you just stuck to coloring the roots. The crayon tended to dry up and the results ended up looking a little splotchy. I don't know if hair texture has anything to do with the results, but my results were so-so at best. It wasn't really the solution I was looking for and I ended up buying a box of Loving Care temporary...
...

It took me longer than average, but I'm beginning to notice grays showing up in my tresses. Since I use a chemical relaxer on my hair every six weeks, I didn't want to attempt putting harsh, permanent dye on my grey hair. No matter how supposedly gentle and moisturizing those products claim to be, I suspect that permanent dye would turn my already processed hair to straw. Instead, I found a box of Clairol Loving Care - Dark Brown for less than $7 at Drugstore.com. Loving Care claims to color grays with a solution as gentle as shampoo. That sounded exactly like what I was searching for.
Clairol Loving Care is a temporary color -- no peroxide and no ammonia -- that washes out in 6 to 12 shampoos. The darker the color, the longer the color is supposed to last. Since I selected the dark brown shade, my color should hang around for a while. I was thrilled to discover that the color solution is already pre-mixed and ready-to-go in the bottle. There was no mixing or...
...

Alright, L'oreal's Feria is easy enough to use. The price was right, after store discounts and a coupon. It smells nice. Those things, I'll give it.

The color, though? Looked good for about two seconds before oxidizing to a cheap orangey brassy shade. Bear in mind that my hair is very dark, so this was far from flattering, especially after a half inch or so of roots (including greys) came in. I cut off most of the colored part in disgust.

In brief, not worth it. Next time, I'll squirrel away a few dollars so I can go to a salon.
...

Eliza-D says "Color Me Beautiful, Color Me Colorsilk!" about Revlon Colorsilk

I have tried pretty much all the drugstore haircolor brands, and I guess I saved the best for last! I will never stray from Colorsilk...NEVER! I use the shade "Dark Brown". I leave it on for 25 min (the roots for 25 min. and the ends for 8 min). My natural color is light ash brown, but now I have a BEAUTIFUL, rich, very dark chocolate brown (exactly like the girl's on the box), and as damaged and porous as my hair is, the color turns out TOTALLY even, from root to tip! AND it made my hair a lot more silky, manageable, and shiny (I have super coarse dry hair naturally). Yes, the gloves suck a$$, and yes, the conditioner is in a packet, not a tube, but I really don't care about all that. I only care about the end result of my color. No other brand has given me such beautiful even results like Colorsilk does! This is a perfect example of quality NOT correlating with price (considering this stuff is less than $3 a box!) SO in love w/Colorsilk!!!
...
