I love the Kiehl's lip balm #1. This lip balm has helped save my dry, cracked and chapped lips over and over again from the harsh effects of cold weather. I live in New England and winters are brutal here....between the drying effects of in home heating and the drying effects of the harsh cold and brutal winter, my skin takes a beating. I have to keep them moisturized with Kiehl's lip balm and that helps tremendously. I always purchase several tubes of it....one to keep in my purse, one for my medicine cabinet, one for my desk at work, and one to keep in my car. So as you can see, no matter where I go I am always ready to battle dryness with the Kiehl's lip balm. i have also gotten friends and family hooked on it because it is such a great and terrific product. After you try it you will also see the dramatic difference it makes on dry and chapped and chafed lips. You will be loving it so much you will buy lots like me!

I've only tried two products from Duwop, so I can't say much for the overall quality of the brand; however, the Lip Venom, as a lip plumper and lipgloss, is a pretty cool concept. Venom is an appropriate name for this lipgloss/plumper combo, as you can feel a stinging sensation a few minutes after applying the gloss on. Your lips feel bigger and redder like it usually does after eating something spicy and hot, and they do indeed look plumper and redder, and shiny as well. The stinging effect (which I liked) didn't last more than ten minutes, and although my lips did appear fuller and brighter at first, that effect also didn't last long. So the product does work to a certain degree, but isn't long lasting at all. I actually prefer Fusion Beauty's Lip Fusion to Lip Venom, which doesn't provide the stinging sensation, while allowing the lips to look fuller for a longer period of time, and over a longer period of usage. I'd recommend the Lip Venom though, because even though it doesn't work...

Burts Bees Lip Balm is the BOMB!!! This is the best chap stick I have ever used in my life.. Last winter I had horrible chapped lips and couldnt figure out why they werent getting better, I had tried every kind of lip balm out there and nothing was helping. I found a natural healing website that said not to use anything with any types of petroleums in them. These caused your lips to dry out quicker. I checked every container of stuff I had purchased and sure enough there was some form of that in each one. I had used Burts bees in the past so I had a tube of it as that was pretty much gone, checked it and it was all natural. I hated to pay 2 something for it because we were having money troubles, but I realized I had spent so much on other stuff.

I went out and bought several tubes and within a few days my lips were healing and felt so much better. I dont leave home without it now. We make sure to have plenty on hand at all times/.

Upon advertisements and online word-of-mouth, i had initially thought that this product would be a great new innovation of lip balms. The product and appearance seem extremely attractive and appealing, and almost forces you to believe that it will be a great product. After purchasing the product/lip balm i was extremely anxious to try it. The egg shaped sphere was wrapped in a little plastic covering that you rip off, and the exterior felt like a hardened eraser (i actually used it as an eraser later on...). Once i twisted the top off, the half-oval shaped balm underneath was a little gross looking. It wasn't white, it was more of a yellow-y color, with mysterious brown spots on top of that. Since you can't judge a book by its cover, I went ahead and applied the balm to my lips. It had a really gross feeling of year-old lip balm, and the smell was nothing like a lip balm should smell like. I understand that it was the "mint" sphere, but i could smell that mint before i even had the top...

I stumbled upon this novel lip balm in the drugstore and was intrigued by its odd sphere shape and the organic claim. The inside is domed, making it easy to apply to your lips. I relied heavily on this lip balm recently, when the cold weather turned my lips severely chapped and uncomfortable. For 2 days straight I would apply this a number of times during the day, after eating and before going out into the cold especially. After the third day I found my lips were improving.

I really like the smell and taste of the EOS Honeydew Melon variety. I enjoy that there are no harsh chemicals and it provides a smooth feel to the lips. You can wear it alone and it gives a natural sheen to the lips when applied. The shape can be a bit bulky for a pocket or makeup bag but the domed product makes application a breeze compared to the typical lip pots which tend to get dirty quickly when placing fingers in to apply to the lips. EOS is one of the best brands i have ever used. I bought this product becasue my nasty habit is chewing on the skin on my lips. It leaves my lips raw, chapped and offten bleeding. I have tried every lip balm out there and this one is by far the best. It smells great i have tried three diffrent scents and they are all amazing, it feels great, not sticky or greasy, it soaks right in and best of all not burning or itching in the lips! The best product ever, and such a life saver, it keeps my lips looking tip top shape !!

Against porcelain skin, Viva Glam VI SE is THE perfect "natural-but-better" shade - for darker skin tones, I'm sure it would make a lovely soft rose. I'm usually hesitant to wear neutrals, but I was drawn to the subtly shimmery finish. This lipstick is just as long-wearing as all other MAC lipsticks (which I strongly recommend).

To add a little drama, I like to add a sheer bit of MAC Blackware glimmerglass over the side edges (but be careful to use primer/lipliner, as Blackware bleeds and the smooth finish of this lipstick doesn't help matters).

My only slight complaint is that there isn't much weight to the formula of this particular lipstick - to the point lips will feel almost bare (though never dry).

100% of the purchase price of this (and all other MAC Viva Glam products) goes to the MAC AIDS Fund, which is an added bonus. Although this charity status makes it exempt from the Back 2 MAC program, the empty Viva Glam containers can still be redeemed.

When I heard MAC was coming out with a black lipglass, I became really excited - especially as I'd missed out on Lancome's Piha Black a few seasons ago.

While this product looks great on - high shine, with a bold, dramatic shade that can be applied very subtly if desired (this is definitely a gloss to use over lipstick, as it enhances any shade nicely, from pale neutrals to outright black...looks especially great over reds), it suffers from one big drawback - namely, it bleeds terribly. This definitely requires lipliner - you may even want to use a primer first.

One other minor issue I've had is that when combined with certain lipsticks, rather than sitting on top, it quickly blends into the lipstick as if they were produced as a single shade. I particularly noticed this when used with MAC Ruby Woo (which has the "retro matte" finish). Also, the attached lipbrush is a bit difficult to get used to.

That aside, I'm still glad I bought this product - black lipgloss is a rare find, let alone...

With so many different types of lip color on the market, why is it that I am so loyal to one brand and one color? The answer is that Avon Glazewear Lip Gloss in Buttered Rum is the best color for my skin tone out of all of the other lipsticks and lip stains in my cosmetics drawer. Further, I love the long-lasting, high gloss shine that never gets sticky (or caught in my hair).

Avon Glazewear comes in over a dozen colors, but unfortunately, the only one that really works for me is Buttered Rum. There seems to be a lack of colors that contain more brown/coral/peach tones. I would love it if Avon could expand the line to include more variety of colors so that I could have more options. This is my only complaint about the line.

I love the soft-tipped applicator because it's large enough for those of us with fuller lips. The lip color applies easily and quickly, and I get a no-smudge look every time. I do use a lip moisturizer before applying Glazewear, and I find that the color...

I rarely stray from my go-to lip color: Avon Glazewear in Buttered Rum. It's the perfect color for my skin tone, and I love the non-sticky shine and easy applicator. So, when I saw that Avon had a sale on its Glazewear Lip Lacquer, I happily bought this new (for me) version in a new color--Perfect Brown. Unfortunately, the lip lacquer gave me more lackluster results than I anticipated.

As you would expect, Glazewear Lip Lacquer is incredibly shiny. I opened the small mirrored compact to reveal a beautiful glossy brown rectangle of lip color. The lacquer comes with an extremely tiny brush that turned out to be completely useless for me. I have full lips and it would have taken me forever to get the lacquer applied with that teeny-weeny brush. Instead, I used another cosmetics brush that I had in my stash.

The Glazewear Lip Lacquer was thick and a bit tricky to apply. Once I got the product on the brush, it was hard to get it to spread smoothly. The funniest thing...

When I was a kid I had terrible chap lip problems in the winter. They would crack and bleed and when I tried to do something like drink orange juice it could be excruciating. I would end up using Crisco on my lips, and while it actually worked pretty well, I have to admit it makes me cringe a bit now knowing I was putting a bunch of shortening on my mouth to cure chap lips.

Thes days I use plain Chap Stick most of the time (the fruit flavors make my stomach a bit queasy) because it's easy to find and inexpensive. However, when I can find it for a good price I love Kiehl's Lip Balm #1. My wife and I recently stayed in a hotel that featured Kiehl's toiletries and I came home with 2 free new tubes, which will last me for a while.

The balm itself is thick and gooey and stays put really well. Not only does it soak in and go to work almost immediately, it's substantial enough to keep working for a while with just one application. There is an ititial smell a bit like Dr. Bronner's liquid soap,...

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipcolor

I've been reading lots of favorable reviews about Maybelline's new Color Sensational Lipcolor and wanted to see what all the fuss was about. CVS recently had them on sale at a Buy1 Get 1 offer so I bought them figuring I'd give the other to a friend or my sister as they are often the recipients of many of my purchases, lucky girls. What can I say, I like to share.

The case this lip color comes in is very cool looking, sleek and modern but with an 'old-fashioned' appeal as well. The cap represents the actual shade of the lipstick so all the tubes are a different color, 48 to be exact....hmmm wonder why they couldn't come up with 50.

About the formula, it's highly pigmented and quite moisturizing, it leaves a beautiful sheen to the lips and the colors are truly lovely. I am all about lip glosses and balms, but it is difficult for me to find a long-lasting gloss that is neither sticky nor super-shiny. Luckily for me, philosophy soul mates grapefruit lip gelato fits the bill!

philosophy lip gelatos are clear, non-sticky glosses that actually are even supposed to plump lips due to certain "filler" ingredients. Soul Mates is pale pink in color and has a grapefruit scent, though no fruity flavor. I really like that I can apply it before class, teach for 40 minutes straight, and still have some product left on my mouth at the end of the period. It doesn't sound like much, but that is a really big deal to me and why I don't mind spending $9 for a 0.5 ounce tube of this Soul Mates Grapefruit Lip Gelato. Additionally, this lip gloss hydrates dry lips and leaves them feeling smooth and comfortable.

The philosophy line of makeup and skin care products can be difficult to find, at least in this area, but the good news is that it is readily available...

This lip gloss is available only at Target stores and target.com as is the whole line of JK Jemma Kidd cosmetics. There are some of her cosmetics online at one high end site but they are different than what Target carries. Jemma Kidd is a British makeup artist who brought her line to the US and I have to say, so far everything I tried is really, really good! And pricey.

EOS Lip Balm: Summer Fruit

I decided to give this product a try when I found it on sale with a rebate at Rite Aid.

It's a fun, round sphere shape container with the lip balm in a ball shape inside.

It is 98% organic, and contains no petroleum or paraben. It contains vitamin E, shea butter, and jojoba oil. It has a very nice grapefruit-like scent. It feels very soft and smooth on the lips and glides on effortlessly. It leaves the lips clear and shiny.

I love the round shape, just because it is different, but if you are looking for a lip balm to stick in your pocket, this would be too big. I keep mine on my bedside table; I love lip balms and I have one in nearly every room of the house.

This product is not tested on animals.

I've been trying to save money lately and, as such, haven't been splurging on the bath and beauty products that I love to buy. I recently ran out of skin care staples which meant putting in an order at Sephora... and while I was doing my shopping I decided to throw in a few little extra treats for myself, including philosophy gratitude pomegranate lip gelato.

I've used philosophy's lip shines in the past, and while I liked them, I found them to be way too high-gloss and sticky to be a practical product for me to wear at work. I decided to check out their Lip Gelatos, though, because they were described as "lightweight" and "non-sticky" gloss that would hydrate and plump lips.

This Gratitude Pomegranate Lip Gelato is a translucent deep pink in color and has a fruity scent, though I wouldn't have guessed it was pomegranate if the label didn't say so. I love the "Max Factor Lipgloss." I am not a huge makeup weare unless I go out somewhere and I am someone who wears a darker shade of lipstick so I use this ontop of it and it blends good with me and gives me a shimmer and it last a pretty good while and I like the pretty pink shade.It is really pretty.You can wear this with lipstick or just plain with nothing under it and it smells pretty good too.It is not overly sticky and it goes on smooth.It is not to expensive and I buy mine at Walmart.So it is affordable and it works well too.Thought I would share.
