tclaire10 says "great smell, hydrates well" about Gold Bond Ultimate Healing Body Lotion

This is the best overall lotion that I have tried so far. It smells wonderful and is not too sticky when applied. But most importantly, it hydrates very well! I have used many other products such as burts bees (hand cream and lotion), palmer's, jergens, st. ives, vaseline and aveeno. In terms of smell, I only like this gold bond lotion, the almond hand cream from burt's bees and the st. ives lotion. All the other lotions have really irritating smells. Actually, I'm the type of person that would prefer no smell of fresh/clean smells like head and shoulder shampoo and lever 2000 soap. So if you like those types of scents then give this gold bond lotion a try!!! Oh, and out of the ones listed above where I liked the scent, the gold bond lotion was the only one that hydrated properly. For st. ives, i would hydrate in the morning and when i washed my hands before and after lunch i would notice that they'd be back to their rough, dry state.
...

stef42678 says "Soft and Moisturized Lips" about Kiehl's Lip Balm #1

I really love beauty products, but my number one staple in products is always lip balm. I hate putting balms with harsh chemicals or animal products on my skin, so I am a big fan of Kiehl's because they make high quality products that are all natural. I found this Kiehl's Lip Balm #1 on sale for $8 at the Kiehl's store and it is probably the best lip balm I have ever used because not only is it chemical free and all natural, but it is really great for my lips. The tube is pretty large, so a little product goes a long way and you get your money's worth in every drop. The lip balm is cooling and a therapy for your lips. It goes on easy without feeling oily or greasy. I like that the lip balm is fragrance free, so that anyone can use it, men or women. Once the lip balm is on, it starts working right away. I feel a little tingle and it adds so much moisture to my lips. I work outside in the heat and in the cold wind during the winters, so I hate chapped lips. This lip balm...
...

tclaire10 says "pricey but worth it" about La Mer creme de la mer

This is a very pricey, expensive cream. BUT!! you only need one night cream in your regimen so you might as well buy a good one. This works very well, its thick and rich but does not clog my pores. smells very nice, and not too strongly. I would suggest getting a medium sized container. If you get a really small one, you're not getting your money's worth. But if you get the super-large one, it might grow bacteria after a while.

I have also tried the new SKII ultimate cream (not sure what its called exactly, it comes in the gold container and retails for about $330). Thats also a really good cream, I think though that it applies more to older people who would like an anti-aging effect. Whereas the la mer cream can be used by all skin types. Price-wise I'd say la mer is a little cheaper, but then again it all depends on how much cream you use per application. Its a good investment for skincare. Much much MUCH better than the hope in a jar from philosophy.
...

I spend a lot of time taking care of my hair because I always want it to look great, so this Neutrogena Anti-Residue Shampoo is a great solution for really clean hair. I have always loved Neutrogena products because they are high quality, and this shampoo really cleans my hair from the roots to the tips. I use this a couple times a week and it is like therapy for my hair because it really cleans and gets all of the dirt and grime out of my hair. I work outside and swim a lot, so my hair gets a lot of wear outdoors and a lot of damage from the outdoor elements, so this is the perfect shampoo to get all the oil and residue out of my hair. This shampoo has a clean and fresh scent and lathers up easy to clean my hair in the shower. It rinses clean away and doesn't leave an oily or heavy film on my hair, and it really adds life to my hair. After using, my hair always feels softer and looks cleaner and shinier. This shampoo sells for around $6 and I use it every other shampoo for...
...

tclaire10 says "squeaky clean and smooth" about DHC Deep Cleaning Oil

I have been using this cleansing oil product for 4 years now. During that time, I experimented briefly with cleansing oils from MAC, Shu Uemura, Shiseido and Fancl. Overall, I think the DHC deep cleansing oil is still the best because of price and quality. Firstly, I thought that fancl, Shiseido and Shu Uemura were not as good in terms of performance. That is, they did not clean as well as DHC. I was especially disappointed with the Shu Uemura purchase because it was so pricey and still performed substandard to the cheaper DHC.
The MAC cleanser was great, it cleaned just as well as DHC in my opinion. However, it is not as thick so you have to use more of it per wash. Therefore, it runs out a lot faster than DHC, plus the bottles are only 150ml VS DHC's 200ml. Also, I liked how DHC is basically scentless, I just feel better knowing that they're putting as few chemicals in as necessary.
...

This is a great product for those who like feeling squeaky clean and fresh. I used to use Dove but felt like it did not really wash off all the dirt accumulated throughout the day. Plus it felt like it left a film-like coat of residue on my skin. I have been so happy with lever 2000 after switching from dove. It smells very clean and fresh. I think it markets more towards men than women, but I find no problem using it even though I'm female. It does not dry out my skin or anything.
Also, it does not "melt" like other soaps. That is, the bar stays firm even if i get it half-soaked with water in my soap dish. The color is a little off-putting, since it is a rather bright blue. But I dont think that this should be harmful in any way. I would not reccommend using it to wash the face however because it can be drying and also, bar soaps tend to clog the pores moreso than form or cream cleansers.
...

Anew Force Extra Triple lifting day cream is an excellent moisturizer. You can use it day or night; and it helps keep new wrinkles from forming. It is promoted that in one week you will see a 60% decrease in wrinkles and fine lines. This day formula also has sun protection; and there is a separate night cream if you need the extra moisture. I have used it for several years now and it has kept my skin soft and firm. Personally I use the day cream day and night as it seems to be just the right balance to keep my skin radiant and avoid breakouts. It has a regular price of about $22.00, but Avon frequently has specials on this item. However, even at the regular price it is well worth the expense. Just apply to a clean face and then apply your make up like usual. Your make up will go on smoothly and your face and neck are protected all day long. It is also SPF 15 so you will be protected against the harmful aging sun rays as well as keeping your skin hydrated.
...

I really do like Suave shampoo and for $.99, it is a great product for a very cheap price. Suave does what other shampoos do, at less than 1/4 the price. I also love the smell. The coconut scent is not too strong or sweet, which I have had a lot of issues with previously with other shampoo brands. The best thing that I can say about this product is that it works amazingly with my frizzy, curly hair. With most other shampoos, I always feel that my hair is left very dry and tangled. It takes me a long time to detangle my long hair. But with Suave Tropical Coconut, it is always smooth. There are almost no tangles and my hair does not feel dry. It outperforms other, more expensive shampoos. I say try it! The price is $1. What do you have to loose? The newly designed bottle is clear so you can see the contents. It has a pearl white color, with a thick consistency. The bottle has a nice flip-top cap, and there's a picture of a two coconut halves on the front of the bottle. I purchased the "family......

LoveFaithHope316 says "Must have" about Bare Minerals Bare Minearls Foundation

Generally I don't wear makeup. I stopped using foundation many years ago. Then I got a sample of Bare MInerals Makeup. I was fasinated by the infomercials, but not convinced. But, I got the sample for a small price and decide to try it, convinced I would prove the commercials full of lies.

To my amazment, it did cover uneven coloring on my face very well without looking like I painted makeup on my face. It did not leave that heavy, feeling of liquid makeup either. So I did my whole face and went out into the world. to my amazement, my sister said my face looked younger and wanted to know what I was doing.

It also works well covering blemishes. I found that when I get the occational pimple, if I cover it with Bare Minerals at first sign, it actually helps get rid if it within a few days.

On my recommendation, my daughter, my sister and my mother tried it and also use this product. The mineral veil is wonderful too. Worth the price as you don't need much for full coverage.
...

I bought Neutrogena's Age Shield hand cream with SPF 30 after a friend recommended Neutrogena's hand cream. I opted for the version with SPF because I have a higher risk of skin cancer than the average person. I thought I could moisturize while protecting my hands from aging sun rays. I was not impressed and I will not buy this product again.

The moisturizing effects of this hand cream are so-so. It feels more like a sunblock on my hands than a moisturizing hand cream. If you put it on your hands, be sure you don't touch your face afterward. It is too harsh for the face, and it feels greasy. After touching my cheeks, they were reddened.

The worst feature of this hand cream is the smell. It is scented, but it still smells strongly like sunscreen. The fragrance is awful. I wish this hand cream came in an unscented version. If it did, I would possibly consider it again. I also wish it left a smooth feeling on your hands, rather than a coated, thick feeling.

Revlon ColorStay Liquid Eye Pen

I guess when you've been wearing make up for two decades you go through phases. Black liquid eye liner, often applied with something that looked like a tiny paint brush was popular in the eighties. I was turned off for two reasons. A) So many people OVER did it. B) I didn't seem to have the coordination to apply it correctly.

Maybe I have a steadier hand now. Maybe I am just no longer in a rush. Likely, it is the improvement in the applicator that makes this liquid eyeliner a success for me.

I am not an everyday eye liner wearer. In my makeup bag, I have one Revlon eyeliner pencil, one Mary Kay eyeliner and one Clinique eyeliner. This seems like over kill but they are all different colors with different features but what none if them were was BOLD. A few months ago we were headed out for big time celebration with many friends old and new. A new dress and a babysitter and this mama wanted something a little more dramatic for the evening. ...
...

Joice Color Endure Violet Violet Shampoo is product that works, if you're willing to spend the extra money. The shampoo is designed for blonde and silver/grey hair to help reduce dullness and brassiness that can occur on natural or color treated hair. This is done by using a shampoo with a temporary violet pigament that helps neutralize the yellow tones in the hair.

At first, I was a bit alarmed because the shampoo wasn't just a little purple, but really purple. The color of purple food coloring. It has a thinner consistency then most shampoos, but it was not hard to apply in any way. You apply, lather, and let it sit for five minutes. I used this time to just relax in the steam or exfoliate. Since the shampoo is thinner then most, take a bit of caution when applying it...I've found that if any gets on the shower walls or shower curtain, it will leave a temporary stain. It comes off with no problem with a little bit of water and rubbing.

alphabettafish says "Bar Concept More Annoying Than Useful" about Intuition Razor I don't know

I find the concept of attaching a moisturizing bar with the razor more annoying than helpful. The added weight of the moisturizing bar to the razor itself makes me paranoid about cutting myself with it, since I can't really see what I'm doing.

The razor is clunky and I feel clumsy and awkward when using it even though I'm not a clumsy person. I admit it's different than your average razor, but I don't like the uniqueness. Maybe there's someone out there that does, but I don't like it at all. The bar seems to get in the way of shaving, making it more difficult to maneuver. The razor itself is also very big, so it's not very convenient for someone who is constantly on the go, and is inconvenient for storing.

I got the green one, which kind of smells like cucumber melon, which gets irritating after awhile, especially for me since it reminds me of my middle and high school gym when it seemed like so many girls all decided to rub cucumber melon scented lotion after p.e.

Not bad for the price. DHC products are usually impressive, and this one is among my favorites. I don't think this worked much on my fine lines, but maybe it's too early to tell. The Q10 cream is overall a good face cream, and affordable too. It also contains Q10, is nearly scentless, easy to put on--not too heavy or too light. I recommend just about any DHC product, especially this, more for prevention purpose than corrective. This cream moisturizes very well. In the morning my face feels so smooth and softer than the night prior. With continued use, I believe this product has great potential, even though the improvements may not be apparent at first. Taking care of your skin is very important, and starting early prevents early signs of aging. This product has a lot of beneficial ingredients and anti-aging properties to make it a fabulous contestant among numerous other anti-aging creams.
...

alphabettafish says "Makes Showering Fun" about LUSH Karma Komba Solid Shampoo Bar

This isn't my favorite Lush shampoo bar, but it's not bad either. The smell is extremely strong if you sniff the bar, but once it's lathered on, it's not too overwhelming. This product seems to deep clean my scalp and hair. It really gets rid of grease, hair product build-ups, simultaneously making hair shiny and full of volume. It does dry my hair out though, so I only use it occasionally. This tiny bar will last me a long time. It also does not de-tangle very well, even though it claims to. This will be great for travel, as it is impossible to spill, airplane-approved, and very small and compact to save luggage space. It could double as a soap perhaps. This particular shampoo bar lathers VERY well. I was thoroughly impressed with the thick lather and incredible amount of bubbles that can come out from such a small bar. As a shampoo, it does its job. Cleans hair well, in particular I'd recommend this for people with oilier scalps that tend to get greasy hair, otherwise it can be too drying....
...

TaraLee says "Removes all of the M.A.C. and other makeup you wear" about MAC Makeup Remover Wipes

I first came across the MAC Make Up Remover Wipes at a MAC store. I went to the store to try on make up, and had to remove what was on my face before I started. They brought out the plastic pack, with the hard oval enclosure (brilliant for keeping the wipes moist from the first wipe to the last wipe in the package). Having sensitive skin I am careful about what I use on my face. The make-up artist (all of the people who work at MAC stores are artists, make-up as well as a few traditional artists) promised me that the wipe was mild enough to protect my skin, but effective enough to remove the make up.

She was correct. I used several wipes that day all over my face, including my lips. I did not break out, and the bright vibrant colors I was playing with were removed completly before I ventured into a different look.

MAC describes their wipes as:

Oversized, luxurious, super-saturated with special M·A·C cleanser infused with protective vitamin E. Hydrates and nourishes highly efficiently....
...

alphabettafish says "One Minute Towards Soft and Fluffy Hair" about Terax Crema

After reading the good reviews on this conditioner, I decided to purchase one to try it myself, and I must say, this is an excellent conditioner and actually works to improve hair condition.

I've been using this for about six months now, and I have no regrets buying this. Even though it is a bit expensive, the fact that it works way better than other high-end conditioner brands makes up for the price. Just a small dollop of this is enough to detangle, moisturize, and smooth out frizzies.

There's only a mild scent associated with this product, so although it doesn't smell good like most other hair products, the smell is still tolerable. This conditioning cream actually makes my hair very soft as opposed to just smooth and de-frizzed.

On the back, the label instructions say you can use it as a hair mask by leaving it on for fifteen minutes before rinsing product out. What's even better is when I leave it on for just one minute before rinsing it out, my hair feels thoroughly conditioned, and...
...

TaraLee says "These wipes work but they are not at all special" about Pond's Cleansing Towelettes - Original Clean

Since I work out in the middle of the day during the work week, I like to have facial cloth to use before my work out to remove makeup. I picked up the Ponds Cleansing Towelettes to keep in my gym bag.

It is important to me that before I start working out that my face feel clean. I am not as concerned with moisturizing before a work out because I sweat a lot, and I always do a very thorough cleaning post work out. But I have found that if I dont clean off the makeup before a work out I regret it later due to breakouts and melted makeup.

When I read the description of these cloths on the Ponds Site:

A mini-spa treatment each day. No leading cleanser is better at lifting away make-up and removing impurities than these soft, textured cleansing cloths. Infused with Chamomile, Vitamin E and Triple Tea Antioxidant Complex, they nourish, soothe and pamper, leaving skin perfectly clean and make-up free. No rinsing necessary.

I though I found the answer to my facial challenge. I was quite...
...

tanj88 says "great colors, good for nails" about Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Diamonds

Sally Hansen is a great brand. For nail polish, I only buy from sally hansen and OPI. other brands I think are not as healthy for your nails. The colors for the sally hansen diamonds like are all very classy. I have the deep red and the one thats glittery violet, as well as the pearly color (i have forgotten what the actual color names are on the bottle, sorry!!). My only problem is that it dries a bit slow, and during that time i'll have to do something messy and have to wash my hands (cooking, etc) so the polish gets wet and easily peels off. And its really bad for your nails to peel off the polish, so thats the only drawback that i see. of course, it happens with all brands probably, not just sally hansen. its really my fault for getting my hands wet in the first place.

I have been thinking to get a brighter shade of red, but I am not sure if it will go well with my skintone. What I like about sally hansen is that the color visible from the bottle is more or less...
...
