saminstarke says "AcneFree works much better than ProActiv" about AcneFree Clear Skin System

After many years of getting ProActiv every few months in the mail and not being able to use it as fast as it was being shipped, I had to find an alternative. That alternative was AcneFree.

Not only does AcneFree work better for my combination/oily skin, but it costs less and I can purchase it at any local drug store. No more paying for shipping and having to throw away products that expire before I can finish using them.

AcneFree is a 3-step system - Cleanser, Toner, Lotion. Three easy steps to a beautiful complexion. The system works within a few weeks to reduce enlarged pores, oiliness and breakouts. It is gentle on your skin and causes no redness whatsoever.

I have used AcneFree for over 3 years and would not go back to ProActiv. I have been sold on this great product and will continue to use it for as long as my skin is prone to adult acne.

I would recommend to anyone who has suffered with frequent acne breakouts to give AcneFree a try, it is well worth the time, effort...
...

hollyhollyjoyjoy says "The Chi Flat Iron is the best flat iron out there!" about Chi Chi Flat Iron

The Chi flat iron is absolutely the best iron you can buy. I personally enjoy the 1 inch ceramic iron because i think it works best and is worth the investment! It will heat up within seconds and straighten your hair within 5 minutes. It will last all day long even in Texas humidity! I would recommend this product to anyone and everyone. If youve have hair problems in the past the Chi flat iron is your answer to all your problems and will make life so much simpler. Just think of that frizzy, fluffy, dried up looking hair turning into a sleek and shine beauty queen with just a little help from the Chi. All my friends and family owns one and you should join the club and get yur beauty and youth back from the old days. You wont regret it! When I was young I have terrible hair but now that im grown and can afford to buy my own things I decided to invest in this product, it was the best thing that ever happen to me, I used to be very embarrased around my friends and people i know but all I ever......

LoveisJoy says "Caress Bathes My Skin in Silky, Soapy Bubbles " about Caress Daily Silk Soap

In general, I have committed myself to Olay soaps because of the great lather and soft-as-butter feel. Still, I can't turn my back on my first love, Caress. Let's just say that I love the way Caress Daily Silk Soap makes me feel.

In addition to the amazingly fresh fragrance of a bar of Caress soap, the fact that the bar is made with bath oil lets you know that you're in for a moisturizing experience. Caress lathers up incredibly well and the bubbles just seem to last and last. At first I was afraid that the soap wouldn't rinse off easily, but actually it did with no problem and no drying residue. After my shower, my skin felt soft and moisturized--even before using my regular lotion. I also noticed that my skin doesn't get dry even when using Caress during the cold winter months. That's high praise for a simple bar of soap.

I do enjoy the boutique body soaps and more expensive shower gels, but you don't always have to spend a fortune to get a great bathing experience. Caress...
...

BUStudent says "The ONLY thing that really cures flaky broken nails- buy it!" about Nailtiques Nail Protein Formula #2 Treatment

My nails used to break off all the time and I had to cut them very short. They fractured and peeled at the edges, I couldn't even use them to open tight jar lids or anything that would put pressure on my nails. It was awful. Then a pharmacist recommended this product. It is similar to nail polish, but it is a little different in composition. If you paint your nails with it about once a week, the new nail will grow out strong. Now I can grow long nails, sometimes people even ask if they are fake because they are so long and good-looking.

Also it CURES nails: I don't even need to use this anymore. Sometimes I do though because it gives such a nice shine. Well worth buying if you have weak nails.
...

BUStudent says "Queen Helene's Hot Oil Treatment is quick for a special event." about Queen Helene Cholesterol Hot Oil Treatment

I picked up a tube of this at the Sally Beauty Supply. They sell small tubes for less than $2, they contain two treatments if you have short hair. I used the whole tube because I have thick medium length hair. The treatment was pretty quick, although I had trouble keeping it hot once it was on my hair. It probably would work best with a hair cap that you could heat up with a blow dryer. The oil has a nice smell, and you only leave it on for a few minutes. It rinsed off without being greasy, although it did make my skin feel a little oily on my face so I had to wash that off. The treatment made my hair look nice and shiny, not amazing but pretty good. It lasted for a few days and helped my split ends a bit too. It didn't have the same effect as a salon protein treatment, but was a good deal for a poor college student.

This is cheap and it might be good to use the day before a special event for a little extra healthy shine. I will probably do that for the wedding I am...
...

danserval says "gets sand everywhere!" about LUSH Sandstone Soap

What is it?

This soap is a lemon scented soap that has a layer of sand in it at the bottom. The smell of fresh lemon is truly wonderful, and so I thought I would really love this soap.

Why DON'T I like it?

The problem with this soap is that when you use it, sand gets EVERYWHERE! The sand is good for exfoliating, but halfway through your shower, it feels like you are showering in a shower at the beach, with sand all over the floor of the shower or the tub, in your toes, etc. I can't stand that, as it makes me feel dirty in the shower. Yuck! Supposedly they have changed the formulation now so that the sand is mixed into the rest of the soap (rather than being a layer on the bottom) specifically because they received so many complaints that the soap is so messy. I'm not convinced that mixing it in will make that much of a difference.

In short, the smell of this product is great, but the sand part of it makes such as mess that it's really not worth it.
...

danserval says "great alternative to wet shampoo" about LUSH Karma Komba Solid Shampoo Bar

What is it?

The solid shampoo bars that LUSH makes are little hockey puck shaped things like a bar of soap. Instead, they are bars of shampoo!

Why is it better than other shampoo?

There are several reasons I prefer these solid shampoo bars to regular, bottled shampoo. First, these bars last a long time. The store says you get about 80 shampoos per bar, and I believe it. I've had mine several months now, and it's still going strong! It certainly must save money for that reason alone.

Second, I recently learned that almost all bottled shampoos have preservatives in them in the family of parabens, which have been shown to be carcinogenic. Solid things (such as bar soap and bar shampoo) do not require preservatives, so you have a much more natural, non-carcinogenic, healthy shampoo by using the solid bars!

Should you buy it?

I woudl recommend to everyone to try out this solid shampoo. In particular, the Karma smell is mild but very lovely smelling!
...

danserval says "Not worth it" about LUSH Shampoo Bar Tin

The use

These tins are specially designed to hold the LUSH solid shampoo bars. The staff tell you (and are correct) that the bars shouldn't sit in water, such as on the side of your tub or on a regular shelf in your shower. When the bars sit in water, they disolve and kind of melt away, and you get far fewer uses out of them. Thus, these tins are supposed to hold your shampoo bars so they don't get melted away by the regular shower water.

Do they work?

I have not found these tins actually do what they are supposed to do! Namely, when you put your shampoo bar in them after just using it, the bar is wet. This means that the bar often dries and sticks to the tin, making it very difficult to get out the next time you want to use it. Another possibility is that a little water gets into the tin, creating the exact same problem you would have without the tin.

Should you buy one?

I say no. Instead, use something else, such as a little raised soap holder to keep the bars good from use to use. These...
...

Caprig says "Yep. The Box Was Smashed, Alright." about Smashbox Wish For The Perfect Palette

When I first saw the Smashbox Holiday Palette in the Ulta Brochure, I thought to myself, "Yep, another cosmetic company dumping their junk into a cheap palette and pawning it off for Christmas."

The palette set up reminded me of those CVS palettes that have brick hard eyeshadows and pigmentless makeup in them for $9.99. The problem is that this palette is not $10- it is $52.

After the Tarte Treasure Chest Palette, I figured that nothing else this holiday season would catch my eye. However, as a true makeup artist, I never pass up an opportunity to play and discover when it comes to new products.

WHAT IS THE SMASHBOX WISH FOR THE PERFECT PALETTE LIKE?

SMASHBOX WISH FOR THE PERFECT PALETTE is an amazing array of color and texture. Smashbox has a tendency to be a bit more translucent than other brands. They have excellent pigmentation but their translucence allows them to compliment the face and eyes without drawing attention to wrinkles, crepe, or creases.

What comes in the SMASHBOX...
...

Rare Minerals Blemish Therapy is made by Bare Escentials. It is a feather light powder. You feel like you have nothing on your face. Rare Minerals Blemish Therapy is great spot treatment or you can use all over your face. This product is great at getting rid of those pimples and preventing new ones from coming. It works fast, but without the excessive drying some other products cause. Plus, blemish therapy helps to reduce the size and look of your pores. I also helps to smooth out scarring. A little of this product goes a long way too. Especially if you just use it as a spot treatment.

I love Rare Minerals Blemish Therapy. I use it under my makeup. It not only works on all the things listed above, but helps your make up to go on better. My make up doesn't sink into my pores, because the blemish therapy is protecting my pores. I have a more smooth, more flawless face. Plus I don't feel like my face is caked with products. I also love that it is made with...
...

BBGirl5 says "Hold onto your color longer" about Pantene color treated hair shampoo

I bought Pantene shampoo for color treated hair after I saw Stacy London say how great Pantene was.

I must say I was pleasantly surprised at how well it does work. I have been using it for about 2 months and I have to say my color is still great! Does not strip the hair of its natural oils, leaves it soft and managable and you don't have to color as often.

Would definately recommend this to anyone with color treated hair. They also have different levels such as oily hair, dry hair etc. so you can really customize it to your hair.
...

this2shallpass19 says "Green lips? Maybe, but I love Philosophy Spicy Pear Cobbler! " about Philosophy Spicy Pear Cobbler Lip Shine

I recently fell in love with Philosophy Ooey Gooey S'mores Lip Shine because of the delicious scent and the way it looks and feels on my lips. When I was at Philosophy's website recently, I saw they offered a Christmas ornament filled with a trio of lip shines in different scents, so I just had to have them! Included in the trio are the flavors: Spicy Pear Cobbler, Gingerbread and Orange Cranberry Spritzer. The set was only $15.00 and each lip balm normally sells for $12.00 a piece, so this was a great deal!

The scent of this lip gloss is amazing! I want to lick my lips and eat this stuff. This mouth-watering scent is like a ripe, juicy pair combined with a tart green apple and a little bit of spice. It's definitely more fruity than spicy, which I like. It is probably the best smelling lip product I have ever used.

I have to warn you. As fabulous as Philosophy Spicy Pear Cobbler Lip Shine is, it is a little weird. As you can see, the color of this lip shine is green. ...
...

iluvmydaughter says "Miracle Straightner" about Revlon skinny

My first purchase of a straightner was a big fat one. I spent about an hour straigtening my hair. When I got out that night I noitced everyones hair was more flat and straight then mine. I spent the whole night wondering, why? I never thought it could be the straightner. Not being able to afford the salon brand, my friend, who is a stlyist told me to go to the store and by the Revlon skinny straightner, as skinny as I could get it. So I ran to the store about a week later and found the straightner. Of course I had to wait to the weekend to use it, but when the weekend came and I got to use the straightner I was super excited. I started to use the Revlon skinny straightner and to my surprise it was straighting my hair and leaving it smooth and shiny right away. Between the straightner and the product my hair was as smooth as theothers I had seen the weekend before. Plus I was spending half the time I had the weekend before. This was definetly a confidence booster and a money saver. Here...
...

Hateshousework says "The PedEgg Platinum Pro gave me beautiful heels" about As Seen On TV PedEgg Platinum Pro

I usually do not pay much attention to the TV infomercials, but the PedEgg really piqued my interest. I decided to go ahead and try one. Amazing! It removed all of the dead dry skin from my heels and from a callus on my big toe. It was absolutely painless and my feet look great in sandals. I immediately bought another for my husband. This is not the kind of product you want to share with every member of the household. That would be like sharing a toothbrush. His feet were gross, but the Ped Egg smoothed them out and made his skin baby soft in no time. There were a couple of sick jokes about never having to buy grated parmesaen cheese again.

The Ped Egg Pro is a sleek little device that I will be using for years to come. The best thing is that you can buy replacement blades very inexpensively and you can find them practically everywhere you go. No more $25 dollar pedicures for me.

I recommended the PedEgg Pro to all my friends and I am recommending today! ...
...

Marlene1105 says "Best Shampoo I have Ever Used" about Redken ALL SOFT

Over the last few years, I have tried many different shampoos. The reason being, I no longer perm my hair like I did for many years and I noticed my hair had changed as I was getting older (I just turned 51.) I spoke to my Hair Dresser who I have been going to for several years and she recommended this Product, "Redkin All Soft" Shampoo.

I knew that since it was a Redkin Product it would be an excellent product for my hair. However, I was amazed how soft, shiny and manageable my hair was just after one use. I color my hair at least once a month also, and this shampoo made it so soft it was like silk!

I have had complete strangers stop me in the grocery store and ask me what products I use on my hair.
...

this is a great everyday shampoo. i hate taking long showers, especially because my roommate takes insanely long 45-60 minute showers and frequenty leaves no hot water for me. in times like that, i don't really have the luxury of taking a long shower and doing a separate wash and rinse with shampoo and conditioner. this is where the 2-in-1 comes in handy. i can just go through the motions once, and i'm done. it's not the best for thoroughly moisturizing hair, but i noticei never have problems with split ends with this product, and my hair is full and bouncy. i'm sure the results are different for different hair types, but it words really well for my super thick straight hair. there are quite a few scents to choose from, as well as different types. but to be honest, i've tried most of them, and i can't really tell what the difference is as far as how your hair ends up feeling, other than the difference in scent.
...

I love the Body Shop. It hasn't failed me yet.

My hair is naturally pin-straight, so obviously I hate it and permed the hell out of my hair multiple times for that crazy-curl look. It's hard to find a product that can heal how dry the tips are, but this one does a great job.

This conditioner is great. I loved using it, and it smells so unique--but not too strange and out there that it clashes with other perfumes you may use. I'm a citrus-lover, so I use the Body Shop's Grapefruit Body Butter, I felt like the two scents mixed together really well. It feels lovely to wake up in the morning and know you're going to be smelling wonderful for the rest of the day. I recommend other Body Shop lovers to try it out!
...
