cmyamamo says "Pricy, but a great stroller!" about Maclaren Volo Silver - Umbrella Stroller

I bought the Maclaren Volo off of craigslist to replace my other umbrella stroller. Let me tell you, this is a great stroller. Good storage room, can hold a kid up to 60lbs, lighweight, easy to open and close...this stroller is no joke.

Compared to other umbrella strollers I've used in the past, this one is by far superior. It's easy to turn, and the brakes work well. I'm able to fit my diaper bag in the storage area no problem, and I do not have a small diaper bag. It has a 5 point harness. My daughter is 20 lbs and the harness is a bit large on her, so this would be better for a bigger child. But she'll grow into it and I still feel she is safe in the stroller.

I love how lightweight this is. The last thing I need is a super heavy stroller. The other strollers I used were heavier but somehow flimsier. Odd, but true.

I would recommend this stroller to anyone. Try to find it used as the quality of this sucker is so good that it doesn't matter that you aren't the...
...

viewmasternumber1 says "It's amazingly smooth." about Stokke Xplory Basic Baby Stroller

I received the Stokke Xplory when my daughter was four months of age and I used it until she was 3.5 years of age. It's very versatile and the large wheels make it very shock absorbant. Ofttimes my daughter would sleep in it while I worked around the house because if reclined very far back. I thoroughly enjoyed using it and got many stares when I took it out for a stroll because it looked so different from other strollers.

Another great feature is that it can be used on stairs. It seems to be more oriented for life in European countries, which is where it originated. In this country, people frown on the use of stollers on stairs with a child still onboard.

I still have it to this day, and intend to keep it to pass along to my daughter some day. My only comlaint is that it is very bulky, heavy and does not fully collaspe easily. I can't say for certain that it will fit into a small car as I have only taken it for walks around my neighborhood.

I am a first time mom and a new runner and I started out with a regular travel system that made running difficult for me and bumpy for the baby. We are on a tight budget so I wanted to get the biggest bang for my buck. After a lot of research I found the safari. It has a smooth ride for baby, most of the same extras as the more expensive strollers, great customer service from the company, and a front swivel wheel that makes it a dream when I'm working out or when I'm shopping. Unlike the BOB strollers you can't jog with the front wheel in swivel mode (though that isn't recommended by the manufacturer anyway) but other than that I've had no problems or complaints. Great stroller for a fraction of the price of other brands.
...

This is the work horse of strollers! I purchased the Graco Travel System, which is the infant car seat/stroller combo. We used the car seat for the first year and now that my son is three years old we still use the stroller! It is big and roomy enough for a toddler and he loves having his own cup holder as I love having two cup holders all to myself! It is super easy to unfold, with one hand when you get the hang of it, and folds up fairly small. It is not a small stroller but it isn't too big to fit in a car trunk or navigate through a busy mall. After three years it still looks just as good as when we purchased it. Graco really makes things built to last. It comes in a variety of colors and petterns and I really can't recommend it enought. One of the best things I like about it is the storage basket under the stroller. This is large enough for a diaper bag or purse and multiple packages.
...

My husband and I were tired of pushing around our huge travel system stroller for our 3 year old daughter. We decided to look for a comfortable light weight stroller that would be easy to fold up compactly for an upcoming trip. I decided to purchase a model off of ebay - new, in a discontinued pink color - at a greatly reduced price. The stroller is comfortable and has a canopy, which is a feature many umbrella strollers lack, as well as a rain cover. I was able to purchase an organizer for the back of the stroller to hold water bottles and other items that we want to keep handy. The underseat basket is sufficient for smaller items, but you can't pack a whole lot in it. For me, that's okay because if I wanted a huge basket, I would have used the huge stroller. The one design flaw that bothers me is that when it folds, the wheels touch the canopy and it gets dirty. My husband and I both find it easy to push. It doesn't maneuver like a cadillac, but it more that suits its purpose as a compact,...
...

We did a lot of research looking for a stroller that would last for a long time. We found a video review of this stroller, and had to have it. It is truly the only stroller with a real one-hand fold- all the other strollers we tried actually needed two hands, or it folded down to the ground- not very clean or sanitary. This stroller folds upright, with only one hand, and rests on the ground on a piece separate from the snack tray- that never hits the ground. Ours is black, and we bought a Graco Safe Seat in silver to fit on top. It looks great, steers very well. We take this stroller to the mall, and for neigborhood walks. We wouldn't bring this stroller off-road, as the wheels are not very big. The shock system is great, though, for pavement. The canopy is great, very large, it can go all the way down to the footrest to cover the baby entirely in bad weather or full sun. They sell a raincover separartely, but with thsi canopy you don't need it. It advertises as 17...
...

WE LOVE THIS STROLLER!! The Bob strollers are durable, and so comfortable for both parent and child! This stroller is the one baby item that I could not live without! Suspention is awesome. Be sure to buy the infant car seat adapter & the handlebar console. Trust me, this stroller is NOT just for jogging. I love it when shopping in the mall, taking my child to the park, or when rushing through the airport! My daughter loves riding in it - she is able to see and be involved in everything around her, and we feel great because she is safe & easy to handle. The harness system is great, folding capabilities are great (it folds in half). Not too heavy, but a little bulky to handle. The stroller is a bit pricey, but it is well worth it!!

Additional Note: We have the Revolution w/ the front tire that can swivel or lock, which makes taking the stroller for a jog or around the tight aisles in Walmart perfect.
...

Wow, what a difference it made when I first bought the Maclaren Volo. I had been searching for a lighweight umbrella stroller for awhile after my old stroller got too old to use. I was hesitant to pay so much for "just an umbrella stroller", but when I gave it a test drive, it rode so much smoother than my old Graco umbrella stroller. My wrists were not sore anymore. I could turn corners and maneuver through malls with great ease. I was in stroller heaven. The Maclaren Volo is extremely lightweight made out of alloy aluminum and engineered well. It took me awhile to figure out how to fold it down, but when you do, it is very compact-very good quality for overstuffed trunks and minivans! The Maclaren Volo served me well when I had to travel via airplane and had to take my child on and off through different check points. It also has a generous umbrella which protects against UV rays and the elements. The fabric is actually made of material made to protect against harmful...
...

I was looking for a lightweight foldable stroller with good storage, a decent sunshade, and child tray that could double as a high chair.
This stroller has all of that and handles very well. However, it has some design problems that could be improved upon: 1) the way
it folds up, the child tray bangs on the ground quite forcefully. It can get dirty and seems destined to break, but it's made of flexible plastic
so maybe it can take that kind of stress 2) the padded metal bar
on the seat back is very low--my 14 month old's head already hits it,
although she sits up and doesn't touch the back usually. I was hoping
to use the stroller until she is 3 and I don't know if that's going to work.
3) one of the cupholders on the parent tray is so shallow that water bottles
can fall out. The other one is OK.

handles well for light stroller but needs improvement

After doing a lot of research to find an affordable, lightweight stroller with the "perks" of a bigger stroller, we bought this stroller and are very...
...

I absolutely love this stroller! I can easily change the direction my son faces in less than 30 seconds. I don't even have to take him out of the seat to adjust it! This is handy because my son likes to see me when he's tired. I bought this stroller because my son would not let me out of his sight when he was an infant. Now that he is older, he does like to face out when he is awake and happy, but I can easily flip him as he starts to get tired or cranky. It is also easy to recline.

It has a large, easily accessible basket. A 24 case of soda would easily fit underneath.

The cupholder is deep enough to actually be usuable. The other strollers I've used, my drink tends to splash on baby. This is very bad when drinking coffee!

Handles great. I take it everywhere including sidewalks, the mall, and unpaved trails in the park.

The only con is, it is bulky when folded. I drive an SUV so it's not a problem. It does fit easily into my husbands trunk (Mazda Protege)...
...

My husband loves jogging, and that mostly what we use our baby jogger for. I bike, and he jogs and pushes the kids. Its a great arrangement!

When we found out we were having a 2nd child, we began the laborious process of finding a double jogger. My husband is a big comparison shopper, and likes to do a lot of research when we are going to buy something big.

Ultimately, we bought the BabyJogger Performance Double jogger, and have been grateful every day that we decided to spend good money for the best value. Yes, this is pretty much one of the most expensive double joggers on the market, but it is well worth the expense if you actually use it to jog. Here are some of the pros:

1) Lightweight. With 2 kids and a large jogger, the lighter the better when you are jogging.

2) 20 inch locked tires. The larger tires make it easier for jogging. As well, we were set on getting a front tire that was locked in position, not one that swiveled, or that could swivel but also be locked...
...

I love my Graco Quattro Tour Duo Stroller. It is a must have for my four kids. We have had it for two years. It is pretty heavy to lift in and out of my car, but I can deal with that in order to have the heavy duty strength of it. My 6 year old can sit in the front seat if for some reason he needs to rest. Mostly, my two year old and four month old use it. Occasionally, my three year old will sit in it. The only thing that has broken on it is the back seat cup holders. I was really disappointed that this broke because it was really convenient, but we have dealt without it. The carrier on the bottom is really big and easy to access. The bottom carrier actually drops down so you can put larger items in and then you can put it back up. Very convenient feature. The lock is really easy to use. I had a stroller before that is really hard to lock and unlock. This is not a problem with this stroller. Great buy! I recommend it!
...

My children are 4 and 2, and my oldest is just not ready to be walking full-time when we go to places that require a long stay (the zoo, the amusement park, etc). I had a double stroller made by Graco and it was like pushing a tank. It was awkward to turn, heavy and my 4 year old hated having to sit in front of his sister because she was always kicking him. I decided I needed to do something about the discomfort we were all experiencing from the stroller. I purchased a Baby Trend Sit N Stand.

I purchased this stroller at Babies R Us, and used a coupon so it ended up being a great deal. I think I paid around $100 for it. I tried it out in the store and asked my son if he would like having his very own seat that he could get out of when he wanted. He tried it out and loved it.

The first time I tried out the stroller- I had a hard time getting the canopy off. I put it on, and found that it only covers the person in the front and it's not very big. It works for shielding the sun, but if it...
...

The Joovy Sit N Stand stroller is a great, durable stroller! We bought it specifically to bring to Walt Disney World with us. Although it is a bit bulky, it is very easy to fold and unfold. It is also a bit heavy but the weight is worth the quality of the stroller. My daughter, 2 years old, sat in the front seat and my son, 4 years old, used the sit n stand feature. We were at the top of the weight limit so I believe this caused the wheels to squeak quite a bit. While this was a bit annoying, it was worth it to have such a great stroller. Both my son and daughter loved it and it made our trip much more enjoyable. We bought it in bright yellow which was great for spotting it in crowded areas. The bottom basket is very big and fit several bags. You do have to seperately buy the parent cup holder/organizer which is the only downfall I can find in this stroller.
...

I have two babies..one is 2 and one is 1. I searched and compared strollers for about 9 months before I finally decided on the Schwinn Free Runner. I absolutely love this stroller. It's super easy to push, it's easy to put my kids in and out of and it fits in my Mitsubishi Lancer's trunk (which isn't super big). The back wheels come off and go one with just a little push up lever and pulling them off or pushing them on. The thing that I love the very most about this stroller though is it fits through all but one door I've tried it on. The back wheel base is 31.5 inches wide. Most doors are 32" wide. It took me about a month to be able to hit the doors just right, but I don't have any problems anymore. Another thing I love about this is, it has an adjustable handle bar for tall to short people. I'm only 5'2" and a lot of the strollers I tried had the handle way too high for me to get any kind of maneuverability out of it. The adjustable handle works for me and for my husband who is almost...
...

I bought the phil and ted's double stroller when my son was about 9 months old. I wasn't then and still aren't expecting our second but knew in the realitively near future we wanted a second baby. Our stand by graco was getting a little beat-up and needed replaced, I was looking for durability and versatility. The price was a litlte off-putting but I snagged one off Craigslist with accessories for a more reasonable price. I take this stroller everywhere now. My son loves riding in it and he has a great smooth roll that is easy to push on any surface. It can easily handle bumos and uneven terrain and has a great "recline" option for when my son falls asleep. My one con is that the sun shade is very little so you really need to remeber to cover the kiddes up or load on the sun block. I do have the rain gear and LOVE it, we've taken it out on overcast days and my boy gets his ride, view and stays toasty warm and dry. Love this stroller.
...

kcooney says "Great stroller with a couple areas for improvements" about Joovy Sit N Stand LX

Positives:

It actually folds up very compact. As long as I take the sun visors off, I can fit it in the back of my Prius. That's a pretty amazing feat considering not a lot fits back there other than groceries.

Love the fact that the toddler can get on and off so easily.

Nothing too much to be said about the front seat; pretty standard.

Cons:

One area for improvement is the storage accessibility and capability. The under the seat storage isn't all the big. If we go somewhere and try to bring a lunch with us, it doesn't fit. It's good for a small diaper bag and a purse. It's also extremely difficult to access the storage. You have to pull down on the side netting to put something in it or move the sit and stand seat which ends up being difficult when you have a kid sitting on it. I've had the netting come unsnapped once because I was tugging on it so much try to get something to fit in it.

Wish it came standard with drink holders. For this price it really should. I believe you can buy drink...
...

EllaMarie says "so easy to use." about Combi Flare Stoller

The Combi Flare is sooo easy to use. I bought it to replace our fullsize evenflo stroller which was too heavy & difficult to get in & out of the trunk of my car.

The Combi Flare is very lightweight at 11.5 lbs. It folds & unfolds easily, and you don't have to bend down to fold & pick it up to put in the trunk of your car. The back does not recline all the way, but it reclines low enough for my baby to take a nap in it comfortably while we are on the go. It has a basket, but it is quite small, and it's difficult to get anything in & out of it. It is very easy to push & turn although it feels a little wobbly. It is a good stroller to take to the park or to the mall if you only have some light shopping to do.
...

amecorah says "nice stroler" about Jeep Cherokee Sport stroller

I bought Jeep Cherokee Sport stroller because my son's old stroler was not compatible and heavy. When I looked for a new stroler to replaced the old one, I found Jeep Cherokee Sport stroller, I liked the appearance of the stroler, it is lightweight, and I can fold it easily and quickly, it saves energy and time. My son likes the stroler, he can gets up and down less than a minute. Jeep Cherokee Sport stroller has a proper height for my son, and the good thing is it has cup holders for the child and for the parent, how convinient. It has a storage under the seat which very helpful when we need to bring some stuff (my son and I always use the storage place). This stroler is easy to handle, does not take a lot of energy if we want to do some maneuver. It is not difficult to buckle up my son on it, it good to know that my son will be safe with a five points restraining. Unfortunately Jeep Cherokee Sport stroller is not sturdy enough. We went to a country in Asia last summer, and after we...
...

When my sister heard I was having a second child, she purchased a stroller more suitable to her needs, she passed on her Joovy Ride On Tandem Stroller. My two year old loves to stand on the back (or sit when her legs get tired) while her 3 week old sister is carried by the front infant "sling-like" portion on the front. My two year old loves that the straps can go just around her waist or she can have shoulder straps, and its up to her because both are secure ways to keep her in when shes seated. She can also sit in the front part of the stroller and we can safely wedge the infant carseat in the back, sideways. My two year old requests stroller rides every night. The stroller easily folds up and fits in the trunk. It is a little bit bulky and because I am smaller-framed, I sometimes find it hard to steer. When my sister owned this stroller, we purchased an accessory that hung on the handle bar that held sippy cups, car keys, and other small items. She found this to be...
...
