Baby sign" as it's often referred to as, is a series of simple gesture's and symbols that adult use to communicate with infants who don't quite have the ability to speak yet.

Experts say there are loads of benefits to baby signing. Many say it encourages the growth of a positive emotional Iq while strengthening adult relationships. It also promotes literacy later on and jump-starts verbal language development. More immediately, it can decrease frustration all around, whether at home or in a day care setting, some adults also find that it increases their respect for a young child's abilities. Now there's an added bonus.

To start reaping all those benefits to understanding sign language and baby, you first to be aware that baby signing is only loosely based on American sign Language. It can also be easily modified to meet the unique needs of any family. Baby signing isn't simply some silly trend created by a group of New-Age parents. It's an actual communication form that was created by child...
...

Babies innate curiosity about all they see and hear increases on a daily basis. Before long, they begin to associate words with object and to imitate and articulate sounds. Why not give their eyes and ears something wonderful to feast upon? BABY SHAKESPEARE" presents little ones with 12 common words that can be found within the rich context of classic poems and the beauty of nature. By combining the poetry with engaging puppet shows, funny sound effects, colorful, stimulating images and the glorious music of Ludwig van Beethoven, this exciting introduction to language provides countless opportunities for you and your baby to interact as you explore this wonderful world together!
As babies grow, their eye-hand coordination begins to improve as their ability to interact with their surroundings blossoms. It's the perfect time for MY FIRST SIGNS, a playful introduction to 20 common words and phrases from baby's world -- including "mommy," "daddy" and "I love you" - both spoken and in sign......

Honestly, I wasn't sure how my little girl would react to it, but I went out and bought two dvds anyway. And I am so happy with that decision. She was instantly attracted to the gentle soothing music the colourful and imaginative pictures and of course the cute lil puppets. Thanks to the baby einstein collection I have a full half hour every other day to get my work done. I'm really happy with it. It may not be the most educational video, but its creative and imganiative and it keeps my baby entertained and happy. And right now i am happy with that, as she gets older i'll go buy her the lil einsteins. Thank you to whoever cme up with it its a blessing :)
...

I don't let my son watch tv often, but this video is wonderful for the occasional time out (sometimes Mom needs a shower!) My son loves this video and laughs at the puppets. I even catch myself laughing sometimes. Great video, great for relaxing before bed. We have other Baby Einstein DVDs, but this is by far our favorite. He liked this video as early as 5 months old.

Other Baby Einstein videos we enjoy include: Baby Van Gogh, World Animals, Neighborhood Animals, and Baby Galileo. I feel that they are educational (in small doses) because they show similar items together to relate them for baby (ie. a series of yellow items). They use very few words, so baby can learn the important words without being distracted.
...

After my honey discovered the entrancing poewrs of Baby Einstein DVDs, he went to go buy another video to expose our son to a variety of information. The video he came home with, however, was not only sub par, But I literally felt like the single syllable speaking frog had half a brain and all of the other characters had the same dull wit. Obviously infants can not comprehend what the characters are saying, but if they are being exposed to creatures that say things like "Ed blow!" and conversate in third person, I highly doubt that enforces any type of intelligence whatsoever. The creatures names are "Ta", "Dee", and "Ed". And even that suspiciously sounds like re"tarded". Not like I have any beef with the mentally impared, I just would like my son to know proper English. Now, with taht being said, the rest of the dvd, excluding my little foes, is enlightening and shows lots of happy children playing instruments and repeats the instruments name again and again. So if you can ignore...
...

I remember the first time I saw a Baby einstein video, it was 5 or more years aog. I was over at my friends, babysitting her son for her, and she said " If he gets cranky, just put this on" and she handed me a Baby Einstein video case. At first, I shrugged it off because babies do not watch tevelision, right? After a few hours passed and nothing seemed to soothe her son, I reached for the dvd case in hopes of relief. The moment I put it on, you could tell that this was an activity he was not only accustomed to, but truly enjoyed. I felt a little bad at first; letting a person so young indulge in television. But if you sit with your child and take the time to talk and teach, not only does it remove the fussies, it bonds and educates. Now PLEASE do not spend all of your bonding time with your child infront of the t.v.! Watching Baby Einstein Baby Neptune with my son is an activity we participate in when discussing the colors of blocks no longer appeals to him. The footage is spectacular...
...

I really liked this series of DVD's. At first I wasn't sure my daughter would really pay attention to it, but the music is captivating and the characters really drew her in!!!! I think it is fascinating what they think of that entertains babies. My daughter watched this from a few months old to the time she was 4. She has found many things she liked in them to compare with real life and always is telling me about what she learns in her movies. The music is beautiful too! I can't think of another series that captvated my daughter for so many years and was truly a neat thing for her to watch and learn from. She learned colors, shapes, animals, places...and much more. When we would travel we would talk about what she had just seen on the Baby Einstein DVD and it was neat how she could relate it to where we were at and she remembered it!!!!! I bought this DVD set for all my friends having babies!!!
...

Personally, I was mildly excited about Disney buying the Baby
Einstien company. They had more resources to develop more
products and bring them to market, perhaps faster. A
Family-oriented entertainment company buying an infant-oriented
entertainment company. It made sense.

Unfortunately, they have effectively killed Baby Einstein.
Instead of a video of "real world objects" they have gone
computer-generated. Ok, the intro is classic Baby Einstein
stuff, but that's where it ends. It is not recognizable as a
Baby Einstein DVD after the intro.

Get Baby Mozart & Baby Bach for your very young infant. They
will love it and you have a built-in 20 minute baby sitter so
you can eat dinner. Both of my twins LOVE these.

Add Baby Shakespeare, Baby Santa and the Baby Doolittles when
your baby reaches 6 to 10 months. I used-to consider the Baby
Einstein tape the dog of the bunch, but that distinction is
now reserved for Baby Newton.
...

My 2 year old son loves his Bat Man Big Wheel by Fisher Price. My husband and myself purchased the big wheel for our son's second birthday. He's a tough little guy, he'll try to ride on any surface and sometimes even objects.

It was a great quality for the cost. It was easy to assemble, especially with a pushy toddler. It has an adjustable seat, lights and sounds which tells them which direction they are turning. So it teaches them left and right.. Batteries were also included when it was purchased. It is made of durable plastic, painted in black and blue with a grey seat.

If your toddler is a bit shorter than the average two year old I think it may as well accommodate. My son would scoot up closer to the handle bar so his feet would reach the pedal, and off he would go. He has only had this toy a few months yet he has played with it a lot, roughly and it is still in very good condition.

My nineteen month old absolutely loves the Baby Enstein DVDs. He especially loves the Baby Neptune DVD. This DVD explores various types of waters. It goes over animals that live in the Ocean, animals that live in the rivers, and animals that live in the lakes. It also goes over areas like "Water at My House". He will actually sit still to watch this DVD. His other farvoirte Baby Enstein DVD is Baby Noah. This DVD covers animals from all over the world. The animals are broken down into their habitats, such as Rainforest, Savannah, and Ocean. I was amazed at how much he learned from this DVD. He learned to say "Gorilla" at only 12 months old. He even learned the sound a whale makes. Another great Baby Einstien DVD is Baby Da Vinci. This DVD covers the parts of the body. It does this by using art and objects. I highly recommend these DVDs to all mothers who have children around the age of 1. They are perfect for traveling long distances. You do have to becareful...
...

I was at first skeptical about spending the money on the Baby Einstein DVD's, but they have proved to be well worth the money. The DVD is about 30 minuted long. It focuses on the first sounds that a baby makes like mmm, buh, duh...etc.

Not only does it focus on the first sounds it speaks in numerous different languages at teh beginning when they are saying hello, and at the end when they are saying goodbye. At times I think it could be confusing, but it increases a babys vocabulary. ONe of the main songs that is sang on the movie is Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, which is sang in about three different languages.

The background music and the songs they sing are so upbeat, and others are soothing. They definatley keep a little one entertained. They have bright and vivid pictures that they put with a word when they are saying it. When they say baby, they show a baby, babydoll, and little baby animals.
...

We loved the Baby Einstien collection in our house! We put these on for my son when he was 1-2 months old - mostly for music when he would fall asleep in the swing. We started with Beethoven and he loved it. The music captivated him and he loved the puppets. When he was 3 months old, we put in Mozart and he puckered up and looked from me to the tv and back. The he started crying. He noticed it wasn't Beethoven and didn't appreciate the change! We did it again when my husband came home to see if we got the same reaction. Sure enough he started lookign at us and back to the tv then started crying again. After a few more times, he accepted Mozart and came to love it. We learned our lesson to not let him watch 1 for a period of time but alternate them. Our son would giggle when the puppets popped up from the bottom of the screen or interacted with each other and made noises. Numbers became an instant favorite and I think it was because there was lots of change in that one between the numbers....
...

Baby Einstein DVD's are wonderful!!! The lullabies are great for putting my daughter to sleep and the stories are great to play on the DVD player or in my car and there are also books that can go along with the DVD's so that as she gets older she will be able to look at pictures and eventually be able to read the books as well. The best place to buy the DVDs are Target, Walmart, Toys R Us and Waldens Book store. What is good about baby einstein is that they teach children different things and no jibber jabber like some other cartoons and chidlrens show on tv do. Its important that we teach our kids right with proper education material so that that when they get older they will have a brighter education in school be able to understand better, and teach others well. Im hoping that all new and old parents out there will but baby einstein dvds an support the great things that it teaches our childern
...

Spectrum Connection originally was made by the parent in the video whose child is autistic and she made the video to help her daughter learning different aspects of growing up. This particular video dealt with moving and following directions. I fell in love with this video the first time I watched. My daughter loves this movie so much that she can't just watch it one time, she asks me to play it several times over. The songs in the movie are very catchy also. I find that when I play the video for her and some friends that she has over, they are all doing the actions that she speaks of in the video. Also, the adults in the room are also singing the songs and getting into the video. Overall, this video is a great learning tool for following directions, sitting down, eating at a table and following in a line. All tools that kids need to know when going out somewhere. In a way the video also talks about manners because in the beginning of the movie she sings a song about saying...
...

KSethi78 says "I can communicate with my baby so much better!" about Two Little Hands Signing Time DVDs

Wow! I love the entire Signing Times series! My daughter is 13 months old now and can sign for most of her needs already. We've had tremendous success with potty training because she can sign for potty when she has to go and it has helped her alert me even though she can't talk yet. A potty trained 13 month old!

She also had really bad bouts of screaming when she couldn't get her way or communicate her needs to us before. She threw tantrums on a daily basis. Since Signing Times she's seems to be much calmer and I can gently remind her to use a sign when she's frustrated instead of screaming. That alone is worth any price!

My daughter thinks Rachel, Alex and Leah are her friends. She looks forward to seeing them on the television screen every day. Highly recommended!
...
