chelbelle1986 says "MyPal Violet is a fun multi-purpose toy." about LeapFrog MyPal Violet

My daughter has had MyPal Violet for about two months and has played with it every day since. Violet is a purple stuffed dog that is very soft and cuddly and can be personalized for your child. The dog comes with a usb cable and it was very easy to customize the dog. I simply plugged it in my computer and then registrate on the LeapFrog site. You can then program Violet to say your childes name, favorite food, color and animal. The whole process took me less than ten minutes. Now the dog can say my daughters name and sings songs with her name and favorite things in them. It is very easy to play with as you simply touch the pictures on her paws and she turns on so it is suitable for younger babies. The dog also teaches things like manners, time of day etc through fun songs and activities. Violet can also play lullabies and you can set it to play for two, five or ten minutes straight. Violet now goes on all car rides, is included in play time and cuddles and plays music...
...

lindsayrocksosu says "So annoying but keeps a little one entertained!" about Parents Bee Bop Band

While this is obviously made to annoy parents of toddlers, it does keep my little one entertained. It comes with a tambourine, a shaker with bells on it, a shaker that is more like a rattle, drum sticks and the case is the drum. The lid of the drum comes off and it is storage for the other instruments.

My daughter has had this for about two weeks and has figured out how to take the top of the drum off and THROW things that are not instruments into the drum. She also carries around the lid and plays with it, chews on it, etc. It is already in terrible shape and I don't forsee it lasting through the end of the month. The drumsticks are adorable and the perfect gripping size for a toddler, but that means that my toddler will carry them around the house if you'll let her, banging on my walls, my kneecaps and the dog. She also sticks the round knob-like ends in her mouth constantly because they are the perfect size.

I don't feel too strongly about this product one way or another. ...
...

lindsayrocksosu says "Hours of fun for a curious little one!" about Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Home

I knew nothing about this product and just happened to see it at a garage sale for a really great price. I bought it for my 9 month old and she immediatly became attached to it. When she was still crawling and cruising, she went through the door a billion times within a few minutes or would just sit and play with the flower, the dog bowl, the window, doorbell, etc. Once she began actually walking, she was more interested in the clock and numbers and the shapes on the top, but then she'll fall (we're still working on our balance) and rediscover all of the things she first loved about this toy. The fact that it has two sides is great because when she crawls through the door, it is like a totally different toy on the other side and more for her to explore.

The only negative is that the shapes are constantly being taken out and my daughter holds them in her hand while she walks around the house, so they are never with the house.

If I had not picked this up at a garage sale for super......

lauriemb33 says "Very fun toy to play together" about Playskool Busy Ball Popper

We bought this toy for my youngest son when he was 6 months old. At that time, he really showed no interest in it - and did not care for the motor noise of the toy. We brought it out again when he was a year old and it is now one of his favorites! He loves listening to the music and watching the balls pop out and around. I think he really likes it when the balls fly all the way off of the toy (which happens quite a bit) - then he crawls over to chase the balls down and brings them back. Often when the music stops and it is time to reload the balls, he does not want to give them back - but that is part of the fun :)

Once in awhile, if we do not have all the balls in the machine at once the machine will sort of get stuck, but if you just push that ball down things will get started again - it is no big deal or problem.

Although this toy is for much younger children, even my four year old loves it and asks to play with it quite a bit!
...

My youngest son received this toy about a month ago for his first birthday. Whenever he sees it, he crawls over to it and spins the ball. The ball spins fast enough and long enough to be very fun. At this point, although I think he does enjoy the songs that come with it too - the spinning is what my son really enjoys! My four year old likes to take turns spinning this toy with his brother. The different modes have a few songs that they play and one of the features I like is that a couple of the different modes are ABC (when you spin the wheel it announces the letter it has landed on) and Animal mode where it announces the animal it landed on and what sound it makes. This toy is very similar in some ways to a See and Say - although I think for a child around 12 months old this toy may be better since the spinning motion is so easy - compared to pulling a handle. The songs that play at different times are pretty cute and catchy. Very glad we received this gift.
...

We received this as a gift for my oldest son about 4 years ago on his first Christmas. At the time he was a little less than a year. He was not able to put the balls in the holes himself at that point, but did like watching when we put the balls in. A few months later he was able to put the balls in and loved to play with this for fairly long periods of time. It was also nice as he learned to balance and walk that the toy is fairly wide set and for it's size does not tip over too easily. Some of the children who have come over to play in the past get a bit afraid of the dinosaurs roar - but neither of my kids have ever been afraid of it. Now my youngest son who is 13 months old is just starting to learn how to put the balls into the holes - when he was younger, he didn't really play with the balls, but spun the butterfly and other spinning toys. Another nice thing is that the toy does have an on/off switch and two levels of volume.
...

We bought the Laugh and Learn table for my son for his first birthday. Since he was just learning to stand up and cruise we couldn't wait and gave it to him a few weeks early. He immediately grabbed onto the table and stood up and began to play. At first his favorites were a small bead filled plastic area that can be spun around near the edge of the table and a plastic flip book with animals. Now, after having the table a few months he tends to play with the laptop, piano and phone portions of the table the most. We almost always have the table set in the music mode - as he really enjoys music and likes to dance to the songs. The music is fairly loud - but the songs are cute and there are several different ones. The toy also has spanish and learning modes that we will probably use more as he gets older. Very nice toy - we are so glad we picked it - he plays with it at least a few times a day!
...

cheburashka1985 says "Not for a 18 month old" about Crayola Tadoodles Crayon Buddies

My 17 month old got these as a gift from grandma. This was probably the worst gift to give someone under the age of 2. They are useless and frustrating line Crayola has created. First of all, washable crayons for 18mos olds is a stupid idea. Of course they have to taste them and the crayon instantly dissolves into a watery mess. GROSS. Second, these big balls are not easier for little hands to hold. They are not easy for an adult to hold so how would a child have an easier time. Crayola, please stop selling these horrible products to the unsuspecting grandmas and parents. In short, I was not a happy person to discover what a mess they create. As far as washable goes, yes they are washable, but you have to wash it right away. They do not wash off from walls or kitchen cabinets. I should have been a little more cautious when it said washable. I should have seen the action of my little girl and realized that it would not wash off.
...

NewStrategy says "This Fisher-Price Nursery Rhymes CD Player made my kid LAUGH!" about Fisher Price Nursery Rhymes CD Player

This toy was such a hit. My son got it for his first birthday, and he kept pressing the button and laughing and laughing at it. Now, he is nearly two and a half, and he still brings it out to play with quite often. Honestly, I don't understand why it still appeals to him, but it does.

The big button is very easy for the little kids to push, and that is nice. There are just enough sounds and songs to avoid driving parents absolutely insane, but it will begin to wear on you if you ... say ... take it on a long car ride from Virginia to Florida. It sure beats the crazy leap frog songs, though.

When the toy rolls to a new picture, it has one of three responses. As the child explores more, they will find that the three colored buttons correspond to each of the three responses, so there is more hands on activity as time goes on.

I will be buying one of these for my nephew on his first birthday. We just love it.
...

My first compliment on this toy is that it does not drive my husband or myself crazy, I actually like this toy. I first found it to be very affordable. The next feature I like is that the blue legs come off of it VERY easily, and are put back on VERY easily. This makes it nice for if my baby wants to sit or stand and play with it. I have two girls, ages 13 months and 3. Both girls love this toy. I have had the same batteries in it for months now, and even though it is used frequently, the batteries are still going strong. This toy is easy to clean. I like the variety that it can be used to teach spanish, english, or play music. This toy has been dropped, stepped on, spit up on, and otherwise banged around and it still looks and works well. Not only do my kids like to play with it, but I also like this toy a lot. I do have one critique, we lost the phone that comes with it early on. I wish it had a way to leave the phone attached to the toy. Well worth my money, my kids LOVE it!
...

My son isn't very interested in coloring or using crayons, so I wanted to find something fun for him to try to get him more involved in arts and crafts. When I saw Crayola Beginnings TaDoodles Washable First Marks at Target, I knew they were exactly what I was looking for. I excitedly brought them home for my toddler, only to find out that they aren't as great as they first seemed.

Crayola Beginnings TaDoodles Washable First Marks are designed to be a child's first marker. They are easy-to-hold markers in the shape of animals. The set I bought for my son included a frog, dog and bear. They are bottom heavy so that they sit up properly when not in use. The top of the animal's head has a flat sponge "marker" that is where the color comes out. Turn the animal over so that the marker area touches the paper and the marker will...
...

We received the Baby Einstein mat as a baby gift and my son loves it. He has used it every day and even now as a sitter, he loves to sit under the mat and bat at the animals. The star is nice, but he really loved the animals that hung down. I would change them to different levels and he loved to pull on them and twist them around the foam bars. He also enjoyed spending tummy time on the mat and looking at all the colorful animals. The mat is very durable and wipes up clean. In fact, it looks brand new even after daily use for 8 months. The mat is somewhat expensive, but does go on sale from time to time. I would say it has been the most entertaining piece of gear we received and got 2X more use then a swing or bouncy seat. I would recommend this to any new parent as it really grows with your child-sitting on back, tummy time, sitter and will hold up through multiple children. Its a great product.
...

We started using the Evenflo Exersaucer when my son was 5 months old. He really enjoys all the activities that are included on it. He loves to play with the buttons on the piano, flip over the keys, talk on the telephone and pop up the apple toy. All of the toys seem to keep his attention and he is just learning to spin around in the seat to access all of them. My son is rather tall, so we had to cut off the 3 toys that hang down from the bar as they hit him right in the face. We use the toys for tummy time instead. The piano toy is rather loud and makes noise for quite some time before turning off, but he enjoys pounding on the keys to make it go. The exercauser is sturdy and easy to clean. We wipe it down with Clorox wipes often and its easy to get into all the areas of it to wipe the toys clean. I also like that the height is adjustable and it can grow with your child. I would recommend this to any parent.
...

He really enjoys being able to stand by it and play with all the buttons and music. He loves looking at the lights. It seems to grab and hold his attention and he plays with it longer than his other toys. The table seems very durable and will not tip over. He can bare his weight on it and pull himself up to it and it have never tipped over. It is a very sturdy and well made toy. The multiple languages are great as I feel its important to expose your child to different languages at an early age. The music and sounds are also nice-not too loud, although its gets to be a little repetive at times. As a first time parent, its hard to figure out what toys you should spend your money on. This toy will actually be played with and enjoyed. I know we will have many more months of fun and enjoyment out of it.
...

We LOVE LOVE LOVE the leapster. My 6 year old and 5 year old both have one and absolutely love it!!! They are so content to sit and play with them for quite some time. I love that the games are learning games, and they don't really pay attention to that part. They are just having fun. My 3rd daughter is getting one for her 3rd birthday. She needs some help to do the games, but loves to do the art program that comes already on the leapster. The cost is worth it, because she will use it for years to come!!!
...

AshMartin says "Wonderful!" about Crayola Crayola Bold and Bright assorted washable markers

In my house we love arts and crafts! We are always looking for new and exciting crafts projects to do. Crayola Bold and Bright washable markers are a wonderful old standby for those awful rainy days that keep us stuck inside. We have found many, many, many projects to do that have kept us all busy for hours upon hours. My family has tried many differtent types of markers in our search for new and exciting arts and crafts materials but none have been as great as crayola bold and bright washable markers! The other markers we have tried have done a very bad job at imitating crayola bold and bright markers. The other brands my family has tried either leaked all over us and would not wash out, dried out unbelieveably fast, were not as bright as they advertised or were just plain awkward to hold and draw or color with. Crayola Bright and Bold washable markers are the best and the only brand of markers we will buy.
...

slh116 says "Keeps kids attention" about LeapFrog Magnetic Fridge Farm

We bought this barn last Christmas for my then one year old twin boys. When they first got it they like listening to the animal noises as well as the singing the girl does- you've made a match look what you've found, you've made a match hear a pig, duck, cow, horse, sheep sound." Now that they are 23 months old they love actually making the matches themselves, and are so proud when they match up both the back and front halves of the animals. I also think that this toy helped them to learn their animal noises better, they know almost every animal and they are yelling "Moo" or "Baa" before the toy even states that they've made a match. The toys is a bright red barn with a chicken on top that when pressed will sing "Old McDonald had a farm." and they love dancing to this. It is so nice that it is magnetic because they can sit in the kitchen while I clean/cook in front of the refridgerator and play. This is one toy that deserves 5 stars and is worth the 15 dollars I paid.
...

laucww says "LeapFrog musical activity table is a great gift for toddlers" about LeapFrog music table

My husband and I bought the LeapFrog musical activity table for our youngest daughter for her 1st birthday. She is very musically inclined - she loves to bounce to the beat and listen to any and all music - so we thought this would be a great addition to our playroom. We have overall been very pleased with the purchase. It sings and speaks in English and in Spanish, and teaches the ABCS, 123s, colors, and shapes in both languages. I've even learned a lot listening to it! As with any toy, the songs get tiresome and one can only hear "verde" "verde" "verde" so many times in one day (!), but it really is an amazingly educational toy, and our daughter has really enjoyed it. I'd say she stands and plays with it an average of 5 times a day, and she's had it over 4 months. It still interests her, and her big sister even likes to play with it, especially if it means that she's stealing it away from little sister!
...
