My little girl was 18months when her baby sister came along. Somehow, even though she was excited about the baby (she always loved seeing babies whenever we went to church or the mall), she started acting up a bit. she had already started sleeping through the night at 9month (from 7pm to 7am), but a few weeks after her sister came, she would wake in the middle of the night and won't settle unless you stayed by her bedside till she slept back. Even at that, she'd still start screaming again if she woke up and you weren't there. It wasn't funny since i still had midnight feedings to do and I didn't know what to do. I couldn't let her cry it out cos it was the middle of the night (and even the night I tried it, she cried like for 20mins and was ready to go on for longer). Anyway, a friend of mine recommended classic music. she said she always up it on for her baby wheni it was bed time. I bought this baby einstein, and believe me, it worked like magic! First of all, let's clear up one misconception that some other reviewers seem to have -- Just as the Baby Einstein videos are not designed to replicate the directing genius of such Hollywood masterminds as Scorsese or Coppola, the Baby Einstein CDs are not designed to replicate the great symphonies and orchestras of the world! The CDs do indeed utilize great pieces of classical music as their base, but they are not meant to sound as if they are performed by a 120-piece orchestra.

In point of fact, the CDs are meant to work in conjunction with the Baby Einstein video series' various imageries and sounds, meaning they are designed to appeal in simplistic ways to the senses and interests of developing children. They take classical music (which is complex in nature) and replicate it in much simpler ways (via synthesized methods). This allows young developing ears to "tune in" to the various individual sounds and to identify simplistically with the overall melody. And isn't a toddler who wants...

Classical Music is the best remedy to sooth a cranky baby!! It has beautiful classical music from the legandary music composer Johann Sebastian Bach. Soft and playful tunes that help my baby boy in tough times when Mommy couldn't sooth him. When I popped this cd in the cd player, my little one would just stop and enjoy the music. I would also play this at night time, on repeat mode. It would help him sleep through out the night. The other important thing about having this cd, studies show classical music stimulates a babies mind. Ok, first of all, I am a big fan of Celine Dion and It was the first CD i bought when I found out I was pregnant. Talk about layette!! Anyway whether you have a baby already or are expecting or not even expecting You should have this one or at least try it out before saying No. My daugher knows every word of it since she's been listening to it from the womb lol. I guess I enjoy it a little more than she does lol. So about the songs: They are very soothing. The lyrics very nice and her voice just send baby to sleep. My daughter actually never really slept in my bed. She join her bed after the hospital. And even now when she is sick she might spend a little time in our bed but as soon as she feels better she is the one eager to join her bed. Sleep time is her favorite and always has been coz she gets to listen to it. When she wakes up in the morning i can hear her singing to herself or to her doll. Being a parent of young children I am very concerned with what they learn, when they learn it, and why they are learning it. Because my children are young it is a critical time for their brain developement. In oder to stimulate their minds I asked around about CDs that I could play them and the best one that I have found so far is Baby Bach by Baby Einstein. This is a 1 disc CD and it came out in May, 2002. I like this CD so much because of the fact that my children enjoy it at the same time that they are developing their brains and learning. Classical music is greatly stimulating to growing minds. Each and every song on the CD plays chrystal clear and is harmonious. The Best thing bout the entire CD is that you can get it online for as cheap as six dollars new, or even as low as two dollars used. This CD is a 17 track, 28-minute musical excursion through some of Johann Sebastian Bach's most memorable scores. Thats why it is such a wonderful CD.

I don't understand what is so amazing with the Baby Einstein DVDs' and CDs' they keep the kids so calm and cool. The CDS' are calming when you are on the go and need to get come errans done quickly. My baby just listens plays with what ever he has as he enjoys the music...no yelling or crying as we travel to get everything done including picking up big brother from school or foot ball practice..The music also bring peace to mom trying to get home to make dinner,put a load of wash in the washer, get brother to start homework, pick up toys clothes etc, and vaccum as dinner is cooking.

My son enjoys the music to go to sleep evn big brother like to listen.

I'm a new first time brother of a very cute baby sibling and i marvel as i watch my parents struggle to take care of a baby who cry's 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We shower him with gifts every day in hopes that he'll be able to fall asleep easily but to no avail. You see he is a finnicky child of a difficult temperment. But I now worry no more for you see we have found Baby Einstein! This is in fact the most wonderful invention of the world, I can now put my baby brother to a good nights sleep without him fidgetting whenever i turn on for him Baby Einstein. My parents are always worried about whether he'll grow up with the best we can offer him with our low income. But now for a small price we can ensure that he get's a good education at an early age. The baby einstien suite of dvd's and cd's should be purchase by everybody wanting their child to grow up to be little einstiens of thier own. It's a teacher in a box. Providing many hours of valuable lessons that every parents would want...

I have always been a music lover, so when my son came along, I knew I wanted lots of music choices for him. Knowing that music also tames the savage beast... I mean baby, friends and family gifted us with several CD choices. When Little Man was an infant as I had a favorite CD in constant play. But once that one became too scratched to use, we turned to Disney Lullaby and Goodnight. Still at three years old music is a very important part of his life and we couldn't enjoy this Disney CD anymore.

Lull Me... Don't Bore Me

As the name implies, this CD is instrumental and designed for night time with it's relaxing songs. Though most people think of a lullaby CD as boring or elevator-ish (which is probably why we didn't pull this out right away), I don't find this one to be too bad. Though the songs are Instrumentals of favorite Disney songs (including Somewhere Over the Rainbow and Puff the Magic Dragon for example), there is a good mixture of instrumental classical sound and the Disney...

Although I am not a fan of the Baby Einstein videos, I loved these CDs. My 3 1/2 year old uses the lullaby cd to fall asleep every night. The cds are reasonably priced for childrens cds, and filled with classical music and soft childrens music (for example the Lullaby Cd has a variation of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star). The music is also great to dance to, and since it has no words it works great to inspire creativity. We love making up song lyrics to go with our favorite tunes....

I'm the grandmother of a 2 year old and bought this CD to listen to with her. I can say I think I have enjoyed it more than she has. The songs are so soothing. I create photo dvd shows for my family and the songs on this CD have worked great for alot of them.

We got these CD's as a gift for our shower. My husband put them in when my newborn was fussy and had him "conducting" the music by moving his arms. My son loved it! It calmed him down right away. I think the music is very tastefully done. We have since bought another CD because we liked them so much!...

I have twin girls that are 18 months old, they love any baby Einstein! The best part of it is when I turn on the CD player they know what time it is. They have listened to it since they were about 6 weeks old and I think that it is very relaxing for them after a long and busy day. I would recommend this CD to anyone...

Even at the early age of one week it catches their attention - it is soothing and as they get older it really gets them settled down." It seems to be educational and helps develop their minds. I bought the whole 23 dvd set on a site for $75 w/ free shipping! Great deal! I started putting them on when my daughter was 3 months old. (I noticed her watching the TV at night while IW as burping her) She couldn't see colors but she could see enough. I would stick her in her vibrating bouncy seat on our big coffee table so that she was right at the height of our TV. It was great! She would be soothed and even nod off and take naps. to this day..being 10 months old...she loves watching the new ones and she rocks back-and-forth to the music! It's a great way to introduce shapes, colors, seasons, animals, and many other topics. She is seeing things she would never get to see otherwise.

I kind of visualize these dvds as combining "baby mozart" cds with vocabulary books. Only it's better because they give you several examples and you can see video of sunsets and animals interacting in a way you can't in a book. Babies love these!

I saw this CD on Oprah and bought it for my son when he as about 8 weeks old. We started playing for him on 'repeat' every night in his own room. We have tried other lullaby CD's, but her voice being constant and soothing on all songs seems to comfort him when he stirs. I have enjoyed many precious moments rocking him to this CD as the songs are very touching and helps to bring us closer....

This is a such a wonderful collection. It introduces baby to classical music - research has shown this style of music increases intelligence. I have found it to be very soothing and calming for fussy little ones (and/or parents). A good suggestion would be to send it along with your little one to the babysitter's!! I believe this would be a great gift for a baby shower or a new baby. The shorter versions of each song are more geared to little ones' shorter attention spans. They are likely to love it for years to come....

We have the classics edition of the Baby Einstein CD and my two year old son listens to it every night as part of his bedtime routine. I love that he's learning to appreciate some classical music, and it amazes me that he never tires of hearing the same songs. It's to the point that now, he turns on the music himself at bedtime, and he always drifts off mid-CD....

Catch the Moon CD by Lisa Loeb & Elizabeth Mitchell

I LOVE this CD. I keep it in my car at all times. It's great for both kids and adults.

I am always on the look-out for great children's CD's that aren't annoying, and this was such a great find. I was scoping through the kid's section at Borders and stumbled across this adorable, easy-listening CD.

Lisa has such a soft voice and easy strum on her guitar, the music sort of flows in and out of your ear like water does when it trickles down a brook. It relaxes me when I listen to it.

My son loves it as well. His favorite song is, "Little Red Caboose". He's two, so he loves trains and anytime he can sing the word, "Choo-Choo", he's happy.

There are 13 songs total on the CD. Most of them are pretty soft, almost lullaby-ish. But instead of yawning, you'll find yourself singing along!!!

The best part is that the "casing" for the CD is actually a hard-cover book, which has a cute story about 2 girls dreaming about the moon and stars....

I received this CD as a gift from a relative and never heard of it before. It is absolutely adorable!

It is suitable enough for your kids to go to bed with or just to have playing in the car when you're driving. There are words to some of the songs, but nothing too overpowering.

This music is more relaxing than it is to dance to, but a great one nonetheless.
