I did a lot of research before purchasing a monitor for my daughter. I read reviews on many different monitors and I felt that a video monitor would be the best thing to get, for piece of mind of being able to see her whenever I need. The reviews on this monitor were actually pretty good, aside from a few that talked about reception and various things, but no product out there is going to satisfy everyone, so I figured that this would be GREAT because of the reviews and the fantastic price of only $100.

However, I guess those few negative reviews were right. Maybe it depends on the area you live in, but the reception on it is awful and when it goes out it is so LOUD! Definitely loud enough to wake a sleeping baby. Another problem is the battery life - just awful! Just use it for a couple of hours (total) and those things are dead. The camera side comes with a plug in for the wall, but it still doesn't work if you don't have batteries in it and the batteries still die VERY quickly even...
...

We bought this baby monitor with the two receivers and have never been disappointed with it. Compared to a lot of the baby monitors it was signigicantly less expensive and I really like how it has lights as well. The lights even fluxuate there is five of them so a really loud sound goes up to the fifth light but say a tiny stir in bed or a yawn- yes even a yawn will trigger the light is down at one light. Personally I think it's ingenious. I have one receiver next to my computer and one in my bedroom so I can always hear and see if my daughter stirs while she is sleeping. The only thing that has bothered me about it is that is seems to get a lot of feedback while around other electrical equipment. Like when I plug my cell phone in to charge in the same panel it sounds really loud and staticy. Pretty much the way cordless phones do though. If you keep it away from things like that though it works great.
...

I bought this baby monitor for when I have my grandbaby stay with me. I liked the idea that it came with a night light on it and shuts off after being on for awhile because sometimes I forget to shut them off. It also come with a built in tempature gague to tell you the tempature of the baby's room which is great since you don't want the room to cold or to hot. The price of the baby monitor was a very good price for what you get. I would of paid a little more. It comes with two parts. The one for the parents can plug in or run on batteries so you can carry it with you. It had very good sound. It picks things up you normally would not hear. It gives the tempature of the room even when shut off so you can always keep the room where you want for the baby to sleep good. I would purchase this type of monitor again. When it comes to safety Safety 1st knows what it is doing as far as baby monitors. They really care if the parents can hear the baby clearly.
...

I absolutley love my Fisher Price baby monitors! They are great quality and reliable monitors! As a first time parent i wasn't sure which to pick out of the huge selection they have everywhere, but I am sure glad that i chose these! It comes with two moitors, which is very convenient. I am able to put one monitor in my bedroom (connected to the charger) to have at night, and the other one in the living room to listen to naptime! It also comes with a charger. I leave the charger in my room and simply switch the monitors out when the one in the living room is out of battery. The monitor has both reception bars and battery bars on the digital screen. When it starts to go out of range, the battery starts to go low or the recevier in the babys room is turned off, it makes a loud beeping noise until the problem is taken care of. My favorite thing about these monitors is that they are safe! With other monitors, you get outside interferences (sometimes you can hear other people and they can hear...
...

The Sony Baby Call baby monitors have been pretty nice over the last five and a half months. First, the highlights, the monitors come with one base station and two receivers. This has been really nice for us, because we can keep one monitor in our kitchen - living area and the other in our bedroom. It's not a huge deal, but we don't have to unplug and move the monitor every night. Second highlight, the usability of the monitors is great. There are many options for channels and the channel selecter is based on three color wheels, so the channel could be set to red, yellow, green or green, green, green, etc. This is nice when you set the base, it is pretty easy to remember the channel when you get to the receivers. Final highlight, the range has so far been good. We have not run into problems going to other parts of the house or into the yard to do yardwork. The one downside we have encountered is that sometimes relatively minor things seem to effect the reception. Sometimes...
...

The Sony Baby Call Nursery Monitor has worked fine for us. My son is now four and we still use it. It has two different settings. One, you can hear every single thing going on in the room and two is the voice activated setting. I prefer the first one. The first one allows you to hear some things you will definitely miss if its on voice activation. One time we were able to hear my son getting sick so we could get in quick to get him to the bathroom and avoid a huge mess. Another time we were able to hear my son talking and laughing hysterical in his sleep. On voice activation you miss some things and if your child calls "mommy" and waits a while and calls again, it won't pick it up right away so you may miss it completely. Another negative is that sometimes it picks up something else and will beep. It's especially annoying in the midddle of the night. All in all its a good baby monitor with some goodfeatures and some bad ones.
...

My husband I went through 3 other monitors before we found the one we love. The first ones we bought were hi-tech hi-priced monitors. They were horrible!! We could not hear anything because the volume would not go high enough. There was static. It was dissapointing because we paid a lot of money for those and the didnt even work. So we returned those and got the least expensive on at Toys R Us and at it is great! Its the fisher price monitor with a night light on the base. It has 5 different levels of volume and we usually keep it on #3. Sometimes paying big bucks is not always going to give you the best product. I think that this also comes wth 2 monitors and a base. It was about $25 I think which was great because we spent about $50 to $60 on the other monitors. Also, we can hear things that are going on downstairs. Which is good because the monitors cover a very long range.
...

We have owned this product for over two years. We first purchased a cheaper, non-digital baby monitor. It beeped randomly and had a lot of static. This product, however has proven to be fairly reliable. It has very clear sound and I LOVE that there are two. We actually own two of these products so we can have a monitor in each child's room. I did find the product to be a little pricey, but well worth it.

Sometimes, the monitor will beep randomly as if the base in the child's room was unplugged. I have no idea why it does this, it only happens once every few days/weeks and it corrects itself. I love that no matter the problem with listening to the child, the base in the child's room never makes noise, so your child will never be disturbed by this monitor. The cheap one we had in the beginning would beep in my child's room, waking her up.

I am happy with this product and recommend it to my friends.
...

The Summer Handheld Video Monitor is such a wonderful product that puts my mind at ease every naptime & bedtime. The only change that I would make to this wonderful product is to add more channels so that we can still use to see all of our children when we decide to have a 3rd. Being able to see that my newborn is sleeping soundly and my toddler is staying in his crib is priceless. We use both channels of the monitor and it has such great clarity. We have no idea how parents survived before there were video monitors and are so grateful that they have come up with this technology. All of our friends use this monitor as well and each one of them raves about how useful it is and how dependent we have all become on it. I recommend this monitor to all of my friends and even to strangers when I see them contimplating which monitor to buy. It is a true must have for new parents or ones who are just looking for a new monitor.
...

When I was pregnant with our 3rd child, I was sick of our old monitor that worked about half the time so I started to search for a new one.

I ran across the Sony Baby Call Monitor and saw many wonderful reviews for it. With the many channels that it offers and the lights sound sensor lights, this monitor is able to do its job well and clear as a bell. The clairity is amazing on it. You can hear every little sound your baby is making.

It has a nice belt clip that allows you to take it outside or with you all around the house. It has a very far reaching range which is also nice if you have a large house or you like to do things outside while the baby is sleeping.

It also has a built in rechargeable battery which is awesome. NO wasting money on batteries or having to keep it plugged in.

This monitor is versitile and is a great value for the price. I would recommend it to any of my friends or family and not worry about them getting something that is poor quality.
...

This monitor is awesome. At times I can hear my son breathing. Just about every movement he makes can be heard. A family member put her daughter in my son's crib and she was amazed at what all you could hear. I also love it because it has ten different channels you can chose between. This option is so nice, because if another device interferes with the monitor, you simply select a channel which doesn't have interference. This monitor also has five red lights which light up depending on how much noise your baby is making. This is useful if you want the sound off, but still want to monitor your child. The louder your child becomes the number of lights, which light up, increase. This monitor comes with two receivers, which you could but one in your bedroom and one another room. These receivers both have belt clips. It also has a long range on this monitor. I have been in the neighbor's front yard and never lost signal strength. This is another feature this monitor has. It tells......

At first this monitor was great. It caught the noise perfectly. we could hear everything. we never had any problems at all. Then out of the blue things went down hill. THe monitor doesn't connect to the base and you have to slam it down in order to get it to connect. Whn you try to turn it up it doens;t turn up. It stays at the same level. It is not a good monitor. Battery didn't last long when not charged. It would die within 45 minutes. You couldn't do the dishes and carry aroudn the monitor when vacumming. It'd have to stay on the base. It ended up dying at 14 months but warranty only last 12 months. I tried to call the company but they wanted to do with it helping us. they wanted us to mail the monitor to them and pay for the shipping and then pay for them to look at it. i was highly diasappoitnted. We paid a good amount for the monitor too. I would suggest purchasing something else worth a little more.
...

My wife used to wake up every 15 minutes or so and check to make sure the baby was still breathing. She was so very worried about SIDS, and at first she insisted the baby sleep in the same room as us so that she could keep an eye on her.

We've both been sleeping more soundly now, knowing that the Angelcare Monitor will tell us if there's a problem.

This product should also work well for monitoring seniors, but since it monitors for any movement in the bed, a second person in the bed would throw it off.

This falls short of a perfect 5 star rating for two reasons:

+ It has a sensitivity adjustment knob but at best, sometimes the baby rolls too far away from the sensor and it goes off, and on the same setting we've noted that sometimes when the baby is no longer in the crib (we're standing next to the crib rocking her back to sleep in our arms) it picks up our footsteps as breathing. That means a large dog in the room might also throw it off. Still, it's usually accurate.
+ The audible baby...
...

We had registered for the Sony Babycall baby monitor for our baby shower, and boy am I glad we did! It seems to be the best for the money being spent on it! We love that the base that stays with the parents can be un-plugged and be toted around anywhere in the house. It has many channel frequencies so there should be the right one for you without static and interferences. I was so afraid someone would be listening in on our conversations or for us to hear someone else's conversations, but not with this monitor it has worked great for us! The battery life also is amazing, I was presently surprised by how long it lasts. My son is 18 months old now and the whole systems is still in great workign order and still looks new too! So with baby number two on the way I'm happy to say we won't be needing to buy a new baby monitor any-time soon. This has been a great gift and I have already recommened it to my friends and they love theres too!
...

I got my monitor about 24 months ago. paid appx. $40.00 usd for it at walmart. i use it almost everyday when my baby sleeps or when she is just playing in her room and i cannot be there. it has a range of about 400 feet and well can even pick up thou think walls and still give clear sound and signal. it doesnt drain the batteries all that much, and in the 2 years i have had it i have only had to replace them about 3 times. it is easy to replace them. and that just the portable part of it. the stationary part has a light on it so it can be used as a night light. and the cord is long enough that i can put it on a high top shelf and still be able to reach the plug. there are 2 channles and there is also a cord to plug in the wall on the portable handset. it gives very clear reception outside and inside the house. the stationary part on my model has a place for batteries just in case you go someplace there is no power or well if you loose power. i havent used that part yet so i am not sure...
...

cotopaxi says "Peace of mind for infant stage, high quality monitor for later" about Bebe Sounds Angel Care Movement Sensor Baby Monitor

This monitor was worth every penny. We bought it when my daughter was a newborn and I was paranoid about something happening to her at night.

We were concerned that it would set off false alarms and wake us all up, but that literally never happened once in the first 6 months. It seems to be very sensitive to even the subtle movement of a newborn breathing. It was very easy to set up right out of the box (Iand I am not mechanically inclined by any means.) You can set it to a setting in which you hear a little click every time the baby breathes just ot reassure yourself that it's working properly, and then set it to silent, at whicih point it will beep only if it doesn't detect movement.

By the same token, any time I forgot about the monitor and took her out of the crib without turning it off, it prompty beeped at me, which further reassured me that it was reliable.

You DO need a solid surface to make it work - I tried it in the pack-n-play and it was a no-go.

By about 6 months,...
...

Graco iMonitor Multi-Child Digital Baby Monitor has been a reliable product for us. As a first time mom I am a worrier when it comes to my daughter and Graco is a brand that is well known and a brand that I can trust. I own multiple products from Graco and their products have proven to be reliable time and time again. I did a lot of research as to which monitor seemed best for us and this one seemed to be just what I needed. Two monitors for multiple people to use in case your in different parts of the house. It also vibrates in addition to lighting up and hearing your child clearly. It is able to reach quite a long distance as well. I manage to get the house clean, trash taken out, and mail checked while my daughter is napping because of this monitor. It truly brings me comfort knowing that I can hear my daughter clearly through this monitor. We have one monitor downstairs, and one upstairs so we can hear our daughter at any part of the house. Graco proves themselves trustworthy time and...
...

I couldn't do without this monitor. It works perfectly. You can hear and see your little one with no worries. Our house is not that big, but with this monitor I do not have to get out of bed to make sure my baby is ok! I had an audio only monitor with my first one but this video monitor is much better. It's totally worth every penny we spent on it. Also, the quality of the audio is much better than my previous audio only monitor. No static whatsoever. The only problem is that when I use it with battery power, the picture is dark to save the battery life.
