At first this monitor was great. It caught the noise perfectly. we could hear everything. we never had any problems at all. Then out of the blue things went down hill. THe monitor doesn't connect to the base and you have to slam it down in order to get it to connect. Whn you try to turn it up it doens;t turn up. It stays at the same level. It is not a good monitor. Battery didn't last long when not charged. It would die within 45 minutes. You couldn't do the dishes and carry aroudn the monitor when vacumming. It'd have to stay on the base. It ended up dying at 14 months but warranty only last 12 months. I tried to call the company but they wanted to do with it helping us. they wanted us to mail the monitor to them and pay for the shipping and then pay for them to look at it. i was highly diasappoitnted. We paid a good amount for the monitor too. I would suggest purchasing something else worth a little more.
...

My wife used to wake up every 15 minutes or so and check to make sure the baby was still breathing. She was so very worried about SIDS, and at first she insisted the baby sleep in the same room as us so that she could keep an eye on her.

We've both been sleeping more soundly now, knowing that the Angelcare Monitor will tell us if there's a problem.

This product should also work well for monitoring seniors, but since it monitors for any movement in the bed, a second person in the bed would throw it off.

This falls short of a perfect 5 star rating for two reasons:

+ It has a sensitivity adjustment knob but at best, sometimes the baby rolls too far away from the sensor and it goes off, and on the same setting we've noted that sometimes when the baby is no longer in the crib (we're standing next to the crib rocking her back to sleep in our arms) it picks up our footsteps as breathing. That means a large dog in the room might also throw it off. Still, it's usually accurate.
+ The audible baby...
...

We had registered for the Sony Babycall baby monitor for our baby shower, and boy am I glad we did! It seems to be the best for the money being spent on it! We love that the base that stays with the parents can be un-plugged and be toted around anywhere in the house. It has many channel frequencies so there should be the right one for you without static and interferences. I was so afraid someone would be listening in on our conversations or for us to hear someone else's conversations, but not with this monitor it has worked great for us! The battery life also is amazing, I was presently surprised by how long it lasts. My son is 18 months old now and the whole systems is still in great workign order and still looks new too! So with baby number two on the way I'm happy to say we won't be needing to buy a new baby monitor any-time soon. This has been a great gift and I have already recommened it to my friends and they love theres too!
...

When we found out we were pregnant I was excited but scared. You hear all this stuff about SIDS and you worry that something will happen to your child. I saw an advertisement in a magazine for this monitor and went to check it out. After reading the box we added it to our registry. I always thought I would stay up all night watching my child breath but with this monitor on I was able to go to sleep with some sense of peace. When there is no movement for a set amount of time then the monitor will go off. It is not a loud beep but enough to wake you up. You can change the sensitivity of the sensor pad if needed. With our first child it did go off some but mostly because he would roll too far down the crib. We have not had that problem with our new baby. One negative is if you forget to turn the monitor/alarm off and you pick your baby up out of the crib it will go off. I like this monitor because you can also use it without the sensor pad. We did this once our son...
...

I got my monitor about 24 months ago. paid appx. $40.00 usd for it at walmart. i use it almost everyday when my baby sleeps or when she is just playing in her room and i cannot be there. it has a range of about 400 feet and well can even pick up thou think walls and still give clear sound and signal. it doesnt drain the batteries all that much, and in the 2 years i have had it i have only had to replace them about 3 times. it is easy to replace them. and that just the portable part of it. the stationary part has a light on it so it can be used as a night light. and the cord is long enough that i can put it on a high top shelf and still be able to reach the plug. there are 2 channles and there is also a cord to plug in the wall on the portable handset. it gives very clear reception outside and inside the house. the stationary part on my model has a place for batteries just in case you go someplace there is no power or well if you loose power. i havent used that part yet so i am not sure...
...

This monitor was worth every penny. We bought it when my daughter was a newborn and I was paranoid about something happening to her at night.

We were concerned that it would set off false alarms and wake us all up, but that literally never happened once in the first 6 months. It seems to be very sensitive to even the subtle movement of a newborn breathing. It was very easy to set up right out of the box (Iand I am not mechanically inclined by any means.) You can set it to a setting in which you hear a little click every time the baby breathes just ot reassure yourself that it's working properly, and then set it to silent, at whicih point it will beep only if it doesn't detect movement.

By the same token, any time I forgot about the monitor and took her out of the crib without turning it off, it prompty beeped at me, which further reassured me that it was reliable.

You DO need a solid surface to make it work - I tried it in the pack-n-play and it was a no-go.

Graco iMonitor Multi-Child Digital Baby Monitor has been a reliable product for us. As a first time mom I am a worrier when it comes to my daughter and Graco is a brand that is well known and a brand that I can trust. I own multiple products from Graco and their products have proven to be reliable time and time again. I did a lot of research as to which monitor seemed best for us and this one seemed to be just what I needed. Two monitors for multiple people to use in case your in different parts of the house. It also vibrates in addition to lighting up and hearing your child clearly. It is able to reach quite a long distance as well. I manage to get the house clean, trash taken out, and mail checked while my daughter is napping because of this monitor. It truly brings me comfort knowing that I can hear my daughter clearly through this monitor. We have one monitor downstairs, and one upstairs so we can hear our daughter at any part of the house.

I couldn't do without this monitor. It works perfectly. You can hear and see your little one with no worries. Our house is not that big, but with this monitor I do not have to get out of bed to make sure my baby is ok! I had an audio only monitor with my first one but this video monitor is much better. It's totally worth every penny we spent on it. Also, the quality of the audio is much better than my previous audio only monitor. No static whatsoever. The only problem is that when I use it with battery power, the picture is dark to save the battery life.

I first bought just a regular set of monitors when my son was born, but saw this monitor on sale and thought I'd give it a try and I'm glad I did. I don't know how I would survive without the video now, as it lets me see what is happening in the crib. Sometimes my son will give a little cry in his sleep, but then rolls over and he's fine. The video lets me see if he's awake, sitting up or settling back down or if he's standing up wanting to get out. He often wakes in the morning and doesn't make a sound for several minutes before he wants to get out, so seeing that he's awake before I can hear him allows me to get up and get dressed by the time he's ready to get out of the crib. I actually can't think of one complaint I have about this monitor, although it's the only video monitor I've used. The picture is clear, the sound is great, there's no static when the room is quiet and the lights show the amount of noise in the room, even if the video screen is turned off. We take...
...

Initially, I thought a video monitor would not be necessary - until the actual day came when it was time to move my daughter to her crib in her own room! The first monitor I tried was the Baby's Quite Sounds minature Blk & Wht TV monitor (also by summer Infant products) that we kept bed side on the night stand - reception was adequate, but the large screen casted so much light when you were trying to sleep, that you had to keep the video off and only turn it on when the baby made a noise.

Having the handheld monitor is soooooo much better! I can take it anywhere in the house and the reception is great (unless I am using it while on the cordless phone which is also 900 mHz)! We also have a wireless system is our home and we can use the monitor simultaneously without interference to either. Additionally important to note is that I have been able to use this video monitor in combination with the BeBe Sounds Anglecare Sensory Monitor (for SIDS prevention) without any difficulty or interference...
...

I am reviewing the Bebe Sounds Angel Care Movement Sensor Baby Monitor. I bought this when I was pregnant with my son, and I was terrified of S.I.D.S. like most first-time parents. I used the sensor pad in a bassinet and in a crib. It worked fine in the bassinet. It worked great, but if you don't turn off the sensor right after picking up the baby, you're apt to get all the way downstairs only to have to run upstairs to a screaming alarm. Also, irritating if the baby has already fallen back asleep, arghhhh! But if you are really concerned about S.I.D.S. then this is piece of mind for you and probably worth it.You have to purchase a piece of board to use under the crib mattress to stabilize it. People have commented too, that if you use that sensor in a crib than the baby can wriggle off it. If you're not too concerned, the sensor pad may be overkill. Fortunately, you can just use the sound monitor and it works fantastically.
...

The Angelcare moniter has made our baby sleeping peaceful for all of us. We were going to buy just a cheap moniter. We waited on buying one until after my son was born. I am so glad we did. Our son insists on tummy sleeping and being terrified of the SIDS risk, we changed our minds and decided on the Angelcare. We have been using this moniter for about 6 1/2 months. I love it! It gives me such a since of peace. I also love that it has the temperature inside the baby's room. The monitor makes a noise when the temperature changes letting you know. This helped in keeping a nice comforable temperature for our son. It is worth every penny. I suggest this to everyone I see looking at monitors and to my friends. I like the fact you can adjust the sensitivity and the fact that you don't hear the constant hmmmmm of the monitor when it's on. It remains quite until it picks up a noise. It really is worth it.
...

I originally was going to purchase a video monitor for my son's nursery but opted for these monitors instead. I am very happy that I didn't spend the money for an expensive video monitor since these work great. I have had absolutely no problems with reception or volume with these monitors and they are very durable as well. We have a very large yard (1.5 acres) and have had clear reception even when I am out on the perimeter of the yard. I have dropped them repeatedly and gotten them wet and they just keep working! If you choose not to have the volume on a louder level when you are sleeping the lights on the monitor will still wake you up if your little one is making even the slightest noise. The only issue I have had with these monitors is that they really go through batteries more than what I would consider normal. I do have to charge them regularly regardless if I have just put in a new battery. They are still great monitors and I have been very pleased with them.
...

The Fisher Price Sounds n Lights baby monitor is a good value for the price tag. I really like how the base has a nightlight. The nightlight is dim and produces the right amount of light for night time. You can also turn the nightlight off with the push of the top of the base. It is easy enough for an older child to take control of this feature, as well. The volume can be turned up very loud. I can hear when my child tosses or turns in his bed. I do have a few negative comments about the reception and sound quality of the Fisher Price Sounds n Lights Monitor. A cellular phone within a few feet will interfere with the base, causing random bursts of static. I can usually hear a radio or music, very faintly in the background. Once you get used to the everlasting drone of slight static, you might not be able to sleep without it. The monitor only has two channels. If the monitor had additional channels, I would be much happier with the quality. Previously, I had a monitor which caused triple...
...

I am reviewing the Sony Baby Call Monitor.

The signal is completely clear, except right next to some of our cordless appliances. We have a fair amount of wireless signals through our house (home phone, cell phones, internet, video game controllers) and were able to find a clear channel (there are 27 available) on the second try. Most less expensive monitors operate at a lower (and more commonly used by other appliances) frequency; we've found that this monitor's 900 MHz works great.

The voice activation setting works as it should. The receiver shuts off when the baby's room is transmitting only white noise (in our case, the loud clock on the wall and the music box in the crib), turns on when the baby whimpers, and turns off when the baby is quiet. There is no "click" when the receiver comes on.

The range alarm, which is designed to tell you when your receiver is out of range of the baby's transmitter (not when the baby is out of range of the transmitter) has never gone off as I walk around...
...

I was trying not to ask for an expensive one and this one was around forty dollars, and perfect. This monitor can be taken anywhere you go with the power of a battery, or can be plugged in. It doesnt go through batteries allot and reaches far. I can go in my backyard while baby is asleep and hang my laundry and always hear him if he awakes. The monitor is very sensitive with both light and sound,if baby moves the lights flicker, and you can actually even hear him breathing which is amazing. My feoncee's parents went out and bought the monitor with the mat and everything because we were so parinoid as first time parents, but after using the fisher price monitor we returned it and got almost eighty five dollars back. The product speaks for itself actually and me I love it and couldnt speak...
...

juststardust says "It's sound of mind in a box." about Angelcare Angelcare Deluxe Movement Sensor with Sound Monitor

The Bebesounds Angelcare Deluxe monitor was carefully chosen by myself and my husband out of a few dozen available options to us. As first-time parents, we went through a lot of anxiety once baby was moved from sleeping at our bedside in his bassinet to a crib in a separate room. This monitor's movement sensor is very sensitive, which has sometimes fooled us into a freak-out when baby has migrated to the opposite end of his crib than where the sensor pad is, but otherwise has proven to be sound of mind in a box for us. The receivers are handy, in that they have a clip for belt-wearing, but can also standalone on a flat surface. Their distance is incredibly far.. my husband could stand outside of our house in the driveway, a good 30 feet from the base unit, and pick-up the transmission without any audio problems. The remote menus are easy to understand and configure - you can choose from being on sound-monitoring mode only, movement sensor only, a tick-tock for baby's breathing confirmation,...
...

cravingcoupons says "Good product- easy to use warrenty if it breaks" about Graco Digital Baby monitor

I thought this product was great. It wasn't the cheapest monitor available, but definetely not the most expensive either. I wanted one that was super sensitive since I wasn't able to shell out the big bucks to get a video monitor. We started using this when my son was 6 months old, when we moved him to his bedroom clear on the other side of our 2900 sq ft home. It worked great. I left it on all night and only had a few minor problems. About one night every other week I would hear static so I would switch it to another channel and it was fine. Never once did I experience any interference and hear my neighbors conversations. The only bad thing I can say was after about 4 months of non stop use for some reason the charger stopped working. However, i called the 1800 number and they replaed it, no questions asked. Luckily my son was old enough that I didnt need to use it every night anymore, or else I probably would have been really upset! For what its used for it works fine. They have a vibration...
...

spongee says "Awesome when working" about Summer Infant Deluxe Day & Night Handheld Color Video Monitor with 2.5" Screen

I bought the deluxe day and night handheld color video monitior from summer infant for my first child. Being a new parent it was wonderful to be able to see our daughter without having to go in and check on her. She was a light sleeper so going in the room would have woken her this gave us the ablity to be able to watch. The picture is very clear whether the lights are on or not. It picks up every little sound. Every so often it would pick up interfernce which was a little irritating when we were sleeping. The biggest problem was quality of product. The Lcd stopped working after 4 months and we always had to have it plugged in. the battery would not keep a charge. I contacted summer infant customer service. They sent me a label to ship it back and after 4 weeks I had a brand new one. this work for another year. I was happy enough with this product that I bought a new one for my second child. Again after 7 months it stopped working. I didn't have the original packaging so I couldn't send...
...
