This is the monitor i wanted as a gift, but instead got another, which i reviewed also, and was not good at all. Anyways, this monitor allows me to sleep peacefully, because there is NO constant white noise and i can hear baby VERY CLEARLY, even as he just starts making little sounds, even before being fully awake. And the movement option on it, reassures me, that if, God forbid, he should get stuck with his face in the matress or something, the alarm will go off and i'll have time to go save him. I know it does not prevent SIDS, but in my mind, it does help. The alarm sounds after 15 seconds of no breathing movement, which in my opinion is better than the sounds only monitors. I ABSOLUTELY wanted this monitor, and nothing else! I highly recommend it to all mothers, especially first mommies like me! But, remember, any monitor does not replace a parent, you still need to check on your baby...
