i'm big on the breastfeeding. no plastics near my kids, but my littlest is a cranky one when i need to go out of the house and get things done. i gave up and researched on the "binky" and was surprised at the rave reviews from other brestfeeding mothers. took a moment for my daughter to get used to it, but once she did she was happy. when she falls asleep it just naturally slips out of her mouth. there has been no problems with her breastfeeding after having the...

When I had my second daughter I offered her the gerber nuk pacifier first. That is the one that I had wanted for her. She didn't want much to do with it. So, while at the hospital I asked the nurse to please see if they had the soothie pacifier that they used to hand out when I had my first daughter. — — My daughter took to the soothie just as fast as my other daughter. The hospital offers a curved soothie that doesn't cover the nose. It's a better version but this version is okay too. The one piece design makes this pacifier a very clean solution. Plus, nipple breakage is not an issue. — — I know thier not as cute, but they are the sensible solution. —...

I started out with Avent pacifiers since I was using Avent bottles. The nipple on the pacifier is way too long and my baby was gagging on it. I went to the store and bought one of every pacifier they made. She preferred the Nuk to all others and now it's the only one she will take. The shape and angle is perfect for a baby's mouth....

These pacifiers are great and my daughter loves them. They come in a variety of different colors and sizes depending on whether you have a boy or girl and what age they are. They are shaped so they don't hinder the jaw or tongue development which puts my mind at ease more since my 10 month old is addicted to them. The only problem I have with them is they are a little expensive put if your baby uses a pacifier I think it is worth it to buy them these as opposed to some...

— Prior to my son's birth, I had this mindset against pacifiers and if my child ever got attached, I would just take it away anyway... — — Well, I have my son now and he's 15 months, still attached to his precious binky. I can't take it away because he relies on it so much and when he discovers that it has disappeared, he'll bring down the house with his outrage. I'm still a bit against it, but it brings comfort to my little boy. — — —...

When both my kids were born we decided we didn't want to use pacifiers, but after spending weeks in the hosipital with both, we found that even the hospital used pacifiers. The pacifier turned into a comfort for the little ones and ended up being named a tutu (don't ask), We loved the Mams because even when they were teething, with all the drool running down their face, the easy breathing of the Mam helped to keep breakouts at bay on their little faces. ...

As a healthcare provider for new mother's and infants, and a breastfeeding advocate, I am natually inclined to not support the use pf pacifiers. Some infants however, have an overwhelming need to suck, and this can be quite uncomfortable for new mom learning to breastfeed. This is how the soothie pacifier can help. Once a mother has identified the difference between the desire to eat and the desire to suck, ( No, babies do not always want to eat when they ellicit the rooting reflex) a soothie pacifier can be used to "save the day." — I have never met a baby who did not like the soothie pacifiers, from preemie's to 6 month old infants, and beyond, I feel it is the #1 preferred pacifier by babies. The newborn or green soothies can be used for quite a while and then you may transition to the pink or blue Super soothies which are for older babies, but a lot of babies do not like these stiffer, thicker pacifiers. ...

This is the only pacifier my daughter will take! I had a bunch of different kinds of pacifiers from my baby shower and I tried several, but she knows the difference and will only take the NUK! They are fairly cheap compared to the Playtex Binky and MAM pacifiers, and they last forever. Gerber also makes the NUK in stages 2 and 3 for when your child needs a little bit bigger to fit their growing mouth perfectly. I am so grateful for this...

That's funny when I see the other reviews because mine is the same! She will only take this binky and will only take the green one. I tried the blue, pink, NUK, Avent...she will take them only to chew on them backwards--the handles in her mouth. To sleep however, she will only use the green Soothie. One thing I don't like that gives it 4 stars is the hole on the backside (where the nipple "attaches") is the same size as her finger and she frequently sticks her finger in there and gets it stuck-which of course triggers a hearty whine.. — She likes to chew on this binky sideways, backwards, any way she can get it in her mouth. It certainly fits the name. —...

This is the binkie the NICU sent home with my grandson and it was his favorite until he out grew it. I liked the fact it did not block the nose and could be used easily with tube fed babies. It's all one piece so there was no worry about pieces coming loose. It's easy to clean and could be popped in the sterilizer or dishwasher. The only cons were they were difficult to find and we ended up ordering more on line. As any experienced mom knows, one binkie is not enough! A year ago these did not come in larger sizes for larger babies, toddlers:( Now they do but they are still hard to find. ...
