After hearing bad things about the little two pronged outlet plugs, I decided to try something else. I am so glad that I got the Safety 1st Swivel Outlet Cover because it is so easy to use and still keep my baby safe. You just unscrew and remove your old outlet and screw this one on in it's place. The outlet holes are at an angle so your baby can't stick their fingers or anything else in there. To use the outlet, you just insert the tip of your plug and turn and then the plug will pop right into the holes. I definitely recommend them.

...

bubblegirl79 says "Child proof? HUH!!!!" about Safety 1st Outlet Plugs

I have tried the Saftey First Outlet Plugs with both of my children and they just don't work. Both of my children were able to pull them out. It seems like they attract the childrens attention more then diverting them from the danger. When my 3 yr old daughter was younger( I mean months old) she was able to pull them out with ease. And now my 1yr old son has been pulling them out since he started crawling. Whats the deal? I thought they were supposed to be child proof. There not even baby proof!!! I have had to resort to rearranging the furniture to cover the outlets and you can only imagine what that looks like. And if were not careful my son will sneak under a chair or somthing and pull them out. And where do they end up? You guessed it. In his mouth. Real SAFE!...

This cabinet flex lock works very well at keeping my little one out of the cupboard where the cleaning supplies are kept, however some of its drawbacks are that it can be difficult for adults to use too, It is kind of tricky to operate. The Safety 1st Cabinet Flex Lock is only good on two door cabinets, so you have to buy something entirely different (and not necessarily as effective) for your single door cabinets....

I am a big fan of most safety first products. I bought them to childproof my house when my son was born 20 years ago, and many of the latches and locks are still in use today (I just got used to the darn things being there and it never occurred to me to remove them when he got older. I also didn't have to re do the childproofing thing when my daughter came along 12 years later. ) In this one area though, the outlet covers are just mediocre compared to other safety first products. Those little fingers seem better able to manipulate the covers than big, fat, grownup hands. I was forever picking them up off the floor or running over them with the vacuum cleaner. I didn't necessarily see them as a choking hazard, but then neither of my kids were into pacifiers and other such items that you can chew or suck on for comfort. And I can't say that they are necessarily any worse than other products of their type. It seems once kids see you remove one of them to plug in an appliance,......

To the Point

When my mom took her first fall in the Assisted Living Facility she is in I realized I had to do something to the sharp corners on her coffee table. She's had this table for years but this apartment is smaller than the condo in Florida so I'm even more concerned with safety. I remembered the corners I used for my own children and headed to Target where I found 4 Foam Corners by Safety 1st. If I had looked online I would have found clear corners which I know she would like better. These come in white and tan. The only ones Target had were tan so I bought them for about $10.00.
A Closer View

I liked the fact they can be taken on and off. Safety 1st corners come with a lot of adhesive so if my mom takes these off (for company) then I can just put a piece of adhesive on the back of the L- shaped corner and we're good to go. There are plenty of adhesive pieces to keep her going for a long time. The tape is double sided sticky so it's easy to use and they stay in place.

The Safety...
...

A baby can ds own in 1 inch of water, and they are top-heavy, meaning if they fall in the toilet head-first, they won't have the strength to get themselves out! Buy one of these immediately! At first, I thought this product was an inconvenience, but I feel so much better knowing that my child is safe during those times when I can't watch them for a minute or two. The only thing I didn't like was a difficulty in getting the suction cups to stay stuck! Hopefully the manufacturer will address this issue. Otherwise, I think this is a very practical product....

I thought this would be great since I could just suction it to the toilet tank, and take it with me if needed (i.e. a hotel room). It doesn't even work!

I suctioned it to the tank exactly like the directions said. As soon as I tried to unlock it the thing comes un-suctioned (if that's even a word...) I tried different techniques: pushing on the entire assembly then latching; pushing on just the center screw then latching; hardly pushing at all then latching!!! I finally got it to stay after several tries and considerable aggrivation, only to see it on the floor in the morning. It fell off with no one touching it! Whomever thought up a gadget like this was an idiot.

I thought the latch worked a different way until I got home and assembled it. Everyone knows that when you put force on a suction cup sideways, they move. Their only real holding power is in the direction of their suction. The arc-shaped lock is released by a thumb latch that moves outward (ok, so far so good) and then by pulling...
...

We have tried a few different kinds of cabinet locks on the lower kitchen cabinets, this is the one we stuck with. It is very effective, as there is no way our two year old could figure it out and even if he could, no one his size could have the strength and fine motor skills to unlock it. The only downside is that there is no way to unlock it with just one hand. You must have two free hands to get that done, but then that's one reason why it is so effective. Overall, a good, quality, sturdy product....

I bought these when my son turned a year old. He could pull them out and so could our six month old twin cousins who thought they made great chew toys. No child swallowed them thankfully and we got them put up quickly. I myself could not get them out though, at least not without hurting my fingers and nails. They were cheap and you get alot for that price so I suppose you get what you pay for. I would not recommend them though, especially if you have toddlers around. My son thought they were great for throwing and they were interesting to color on but that's about all the good uses we found for them....

I kept having problems with my daughter getting into all the cabinets. I am a first time mom so it took me a little while to realize that they do make cabinet locks and it probably would be a good investment to purchase some. My daughter loves to get into everything, so I finally went and purchased these cabinet locks. The problem I have run into is that once the lock has been locked, it takes at least three hands to get them to unlock. I have had to open the cabinets and have had to get my husband to assist me with pressing the yellow button and having him pull the sides out. They turned out to be more trouble than they were worth. I now have the kind that you screw in to the inside of the cabinet and just push down to get the cabinet open. It may take a while to get the screws in, but once they are installed, they work much better and efficentlyl....
