livingston says "My teether seems happier" about Hyland's Teething Tablets

I bought these because a friend recommended them. I found that the other major brand of teething gel did not seem to help my son. While Tylenol seemed to help him, I did not want to be giving it to him constantly. My son did not deal well with his first and second tooth. They took a long time to come in and I could tell he was uncomfortable. I like that Hyland's teething tablets are inexpensive and that they are homeopathic. I felt they were safe to give a six month-old baby. It says on the box that your child may fall asleep after taking them because of the relief they provide. While my son did not fall asleep, he did seem happier after dissolving them under his tongue. While he hated the taste of the teething gel, especially the nighttime formula, he did not seem to be concerned about the taste of the teething tablets. I will continue to use these for him as they seem to help him and I feel like they are a natural remedy.
...

livingston says "No gas problems in our baby" about Mylicon Infants' Gas Relief Drops - Dye Free

Mylicon gas drops have saved our sanity. Our son is on a sensitive formula that is very foamy when mixed. We put on drop on dye-free gas drop in his bottles to avoid gas problems. He has had almost no issues with gas. Having had two times where he was miserable and then after hours of crying- burped with a smile- I am glad these drops exist. I hate seeing my baby on pain and uncomfortable. They are easy to use and safe to use multiple times a day (or night if needed). We tried a store brand gas drop and I didn't feel they worked as well. I am glad Mylicon comes in a dye-free formula. I want to give my son as little unnecessary chemicals as possible. Some babies don't need gas drops and I have heard they do not work for everyone. My baby does and I am sticking with Mylicon. They often have $2 off coupons inside the box and I buy them at a store that also accepts 20% off coupons. For us, they are worth every penny spent.
...

beaner5587 says "great plus for children" about Hyland's vitamin c

As adults we generally know the importance of taking daily vitamins. Most people take vitamins by the hand full to target many areas. I believe as parents we have to make sure our children are taken care of. Children are around many germs and in some cases they don't naturally have the best immune system. I think giving our children vitamin c is something extra we can do to keep them healthy. Vitamin c is great for extra support for our immune systems. I worked in daycare and vitamin c was a blessing to me. I just know some things are over looked when it comes to our children. if 1 multivitamin isn't enough for an adult then is our children missing something too. You don't have to take my word for it. Each child is different and you should always speak to the peditrician before begining anything. I personally find that this is a great product and very effective in my efforts to keep my child healthy
...

beaner5587 says "thank goodness for these things" about Hyland's Teething Tablets

This product is amazing. My mother, now a grandmother, wants to know were these things were when I was a baby. I have been using these for my son for months now since he began teething and they seem to work majic on him. I know his little mouth hurts him but I don't like giving him drops and such for pain and gel rubs for his gums don't seem to last too long. Tehse teething tablets seem to bring my son instant relief of his pain. These teething tablets seem to work extra well at nap time. My son gets restless because his mouth hurts so I will give him th teething tablets before nap time and bed and he gets calmed dow and goes to sleep well and in comfort. I think like anything else it shouldn't be over used but as a parent I feel better letting my child have these over other things. This is a product I would recomend to any parent with a teething child. This time isn't easy but this product can at least help.
...

GinaBean says "Little Tummy gripe water not as effective as Woodward's" about Little Tummys Gripe Water

After what seemed like weeks of evening "colic" cries, my friend suggested I try gripe water. It had worked wonders for her child. She gave me a bottle of Woodward's gripe water and I tried it with extreme caution and doubt. Within 15 minutes of the first dose, my infant (7 weeks old) was so calm and happy the entire evening without gas or hiccups. I only gave her half of the recommended dose twice a day for a week and she responded well! She would give loud adult sounding burps with it. When that bottle ran out, I bought Little Tummy's version. My baby does not like the taste of it and cries when I give it to her. There seems to be some relief but not to the extent of the Woodward's. She still would have hiccups and painful gas.

There is debate on the sodium bicarbonate use in babies so do your research. I feel like using the smallest effective dose for a limited time probably is not harmful but it is not FDA approved. Both products contain it but the Woodward's combination...
...

My son had lots of gas when he was an infant and nothing relived him. We tried regulr formula, soy based formula and finally were successful with the pre digested formula (Similac Alimntum Advance). A GI specialist also prescribed my son Zantac. While I was not comfr=ortable giving my son Zantac, my pediatrician did recomment mylicon very highly, I tried it and it was great. We used to joke around and call it his appetizer (because the doctor strongly recommended that we give it to him before his formula). There are definitely some cons about Infan't Mylicon. If you have a very gassy baby, most likely you'll be giving this to your baby close to as often if not as often as the package's recommended maximum. I didn't like to give it to my son a lot but when he needed it, I did. This product saved my son (and us!) from some sleepless nights and contributed to him being a very happy baby rather than a very fussy baby in pain.
...

jjfulle says "Nothing works like motrin" about Motrin Infants' Drops

Whether it is for your child, baby, teen, or yourself, nothing soothes pain and a fever like motrin. We've tried it all - the suspension liquid, regular liquid, tablets!

Motrin works quickly, lasts a long time, and has a great taste. It is much better than most of the other products out there, and the generic store brands are just as good! I've bought it to calm a night time fever at 1am, and I can find it at any grocery store, superstore, or pharmacy.

Motrin comes in berry or bubblegum flavor. One thing I'd really like to find is a clear liquid motrin. This way when my child spills the liquid or can't get it all in her mouth, it won't stain her clothing.

The price for motrin is quite reasonable, and since it lasts 6-8 hours, a small amount goes a long way. Most stores will have a better deal if you buy the bigger bottles, and sometimes you can find buy one get one free, or a double box. Smart choice - you never know when a fever will surprise you.

Bebe Sounds Nasal Clear Battery Operated Nasal Aspirator is a god-send. We absolutely love this handheld, battery-operated device. With the push of a button, it plays twelve tunes to distract your little one. With the push of another button, a light suction occurs. When you hold the tip to your child's nose, all the mucus and boogers are sucked into a chamber. Bebe Sounds Nasal Clear Battery Operated Nasal Aspirator is quick, easy, and safe. It's quick and easy because unlike other aspirators, you press down a button rather than constantly squeeze a bulb. It's also easy because the tunes distract your child. It's safe because it has a gentle suction and you're not ramming it up your child's nose; you simply hold it at the opening. The product can be disassembled so you can rinse the pieces clean in warm soapy water. It comes with two different tip types and a convenient storage bag so you don't lose the pieces. We use this product for our three-week newborn and two-year...
...

When my daughter was a small baby, she used to drink her bottle so fast that she would suck in air and get horrible gas pains. She would scream for hours at a time. We tried Mylicon gas relief drops when she was a couple months old. They helped her tremendously! They work really fast so it only takes a few minutes for babies to feel better. It only takes a small amount in the dropper so you don't have a bunch of medicine to force down either. The dropper comes in lid of the bottle, and it has two hash marks for the different doses that depend on weight. These drops were a lifesaver for about six months of our lives. The dropper is a little hard to read sometimes, and it was difficult to get the correct amount into it because of the top. I did also notice that when my daughter got older, at around eight months they didn't seem to help her as much but she also didn't need them as often either.
...

LisaCarey says "Makes moms and kids happy while chewing their allergy medicine" about Claritin Children's Chewables

My daughter, like many others in her family suffers slightly from seasonal allergies. Just enough suffering to have a cough and runny nose but not enough to need constant care and prescription medications. The doctor recommended Zyrtec for Children, but after seeing the $29.99 price tag I thought I would at least give this more reasonable priced (and chewable not liquid) allergy medicine a try- enter Claritin Children's Chewables.

What I like about Claritin Children's Chewables:

the price is right

one tablet - and it's chewable. I don't have to measure and then try three times to get it right. I don't have to worry about spilling it on the floor.

it is chewable- I can hand it to my daughter and she feels very grown up and responsible as she takes the medication (and yes we will have to have the talk about meds but right now she is only 2)

a 2 yr old can take it

tastes great

works reasonably well

she can take it during the day

Teething Tablets, 125 Tablets, From Hyland's are the most wonderful thing that i could have ever bought for my teething son, he started teething when he was four months old and didn't get his first tooth until he was nine months old. I used everything from Orajel to Tylenol and that gets expensive. I wen't to the doctor one day and a woman sitting in the waiting room asked me was my son teething i said yes and she told me to buy these and that they worked really well, and she was not lying. They are very worth the price and you can find them at Wal mart or on the internet. I used them along with Tylenol and it worked fantastic my son would be screaming because his gums were bothering him so much i'd give him the teething tablets and he would calm down and play or go to sleep! So for all you parent's trying any thing and every thing and it is not working but these I promise you won't be disappointed!
...

Mylicon Infant Gas Relief drops are a lifesaver! If it weren't for these gas drops I would be spending a lot of nights walking the floors and a lot of days begging for just one night of peaceful sleep. When your baby gets gas, especially from sucking air out of their bottle, they can't get the rest that they need, simply because their little tummy is full of gas that can't be released. That gas bubble causes them to be irritable. Mylicon Infant Gas Relief drops work almost instantly but sometimes can take up to thirty minutes to work. Mylicon allows the gas to be released from baby's tummy. Mylicon comes with a screw on medicine dispencer top with dosage measurment up the side of the dropper. Mylicon also is flavorful, making it easier for baby to swallow it rather than spit it back out. Mylicon is gentle enough for baby to take before each feeding, therefore making it easier for baby and Mommy to rest!
...

I was thinking "Shouldn't people recieve things a little more useful at baby showers?" How little I knew then how amazing these magic drops were! The woman who gave them to me smiled, nodded and said with her eyes peeled wide, "Trust me, you will need those." I smiled back and said, "Oh thank you so much! I bet they will come in handy." I didn't realize at the time how devastating gas can be for a baby! So after I gave birth to my super amazing son, I took him home and our journey began. And before I knew it, there I was: bouncing, burping, swinging, swaddling, walking, and riding around trying to soothe my poor little guys restlessness. It wasn't until I was talking to my mother-in-law who said its likely gas that I reaped the benefits of these drops. They work almost instantly...
...

I do my best to use all-natural products for my kids, though sometimes they are hard to find. My 2 toddlers both had hard times when they were teething, and we tried countless products. I stumbled upon these one day in the drug store and never looked back. They work quickly and dissolve easily, so there's not a worry about your baby choking on them. They have a light flavor, and while the bottle is small there are plenty of tablets in there. I can feel good knowing I'm helping my children and not putting any harmful checmicals in their bodies. Homeopathic medicines have a much lower chance of interaction that normal over the counter drugs. Hyland brand is great, I keep stocked with many of their products.
...

As many members here already know, I have two rambunctious little girls who have enjoyed a childhood free from any significant health issues. They have their occasional cold but they have been lucky enough to avoid other, more serious health concerns.

I recently had twin girls, one of which is extremely colicy. I decided it wasn't fair to any of us for her to suffer with colic. We tried switching formulas, her doctor gave her meds, nothing worked. Today we decided to try Baby Bliss Gripe water because I read so many great reviews on it. I am starting to think that was a mistake. I gave the gripe water to my colicy daughter and she choked on it so bad she turned blue in the lips. She didn't choke because I administered it improperly, she choked after she had it all down. It put her to sleep, but I don't know if she went right to sleep because she was exhausted from choking or not. I decided to give it to my other daughter because she was quite fussy tonight as well. She took it down just fine, then all of the sudden she projectile vomited all over me and our rocking chair. She spit up almost her entire feeding and we had to re-feed her.

I read those few bad reviews and thought, oh it's okay, it's rare for that to happen. I thought it...
...

marriedn03 says "Didn't do anything for my coliky baby!" about Little Tummys Gripe Water

I am the busy mother of two beautiful little girls, both under the age of two. So you can imagine what it was like when I brought home my little bundle of joy home with a wild twenty two month old. Two weeks later, my little princess developed colic! Boy was that a nightmare!! I tried everything. She would just cry and kick her legs. It looked like she was in a lot of pain, and there was nothing I could do.

I was reading a Parenting magazine and saw an ad for this gripe water stuff. Then I was grocery shopping and seen it on the shelves. I had never really heard much about it, so I asked my peditrician at the next visit. She told me it was totally safe, but she had heard mixed reviews on it, so it was up to me if I wanted to try it. I decided to give it a try. It cost me about $7-8 for a bottle. It seemed to work the first two nights, then every night I tried it after that, it did nothing! I had wasted my money.

I did tell a friend who was dealing with the same problem about it. I gave...
...

marriedn03 says "A must have for moms with gassy babies!" about Mylicon Infant Gas Drops

I am a busy stay at home mommy of two kids under the age of two. My life is pretty hectic. My two month old daughter gets gassy after almost every feeding. I had gotten Mylicon drops before I even had her, knowing how well they worked with my first baby. And once again, the Mylicon drops came through for me! They work like magic. I don't know if it is the different taste or what. But within five minutes my little girl will stop crying with belly pains.

Another good attribute is that they are non-staining. This is important when you have little outfits that you would rather not see get ruined by medicine stains.

A con to these drops are the price. You can get the generic kind for half the price with twice as much in the bottle!! But you do get what you pay for. The Mylicon drops are well worth the money when it comes to calming your fussy baby!!
...

SoCalMama says "SCARY!" about Hyland's Teething Tablets

I tried these when my son was 5 months old. I liked the fact they were natural so it made me feel safe about using it. But when I gave it to my son - he got very hyper and active. It actually scared me a little so when I looked up the product I found out it had a small amount of a poisionous plant in it. I just do not reccomend it because it made him act strange and it didn't help at all with the teething. I only used one tablet and I threw the rest of it away. I don't want to over medicate my son but tylenol worked for teething when he was really hurting. I know a lot of parents swear by this product and love it - I just don't because of what happened. It gave me a bad feeling and so I stopped using it. There was a lot of talk about this product among my mom friends and I think some people trust it and love it while others don't want to risk it. Since it's natural I don't think the FDA regulates it, which makes me feel even less trusting of the product.
...
