NavyWifeMommy25 says "May work for some babies, but for mine, it didn't.. OH WELL.." about Avent Baby Bottles

Avent Baby bottles are claimed to be miracle-workers, literally, when it comes to gas in babies... They are of very good quality, look clean/pristine/modern, and you can wash them all you need, but continue looking good. The one thing about them: they didn't work for my Son. My Son was born a preemie @ 34 wks, and we know that some are born with acid reflux. My Son would literally vomit after every feeding, not only due to gas, but also to the fact that he could not keep anything down. I tried breastfeeding him but he just didn't like it, so I would pump, and pour my milk onto these bottles. They are comfortable to hold, and my Son seemed to like the latch he would have with the bottle's nipple. BUT, no matter what we did, he would swallow TONS of air bubbles that the Avent bottle would create.. Supposedbly, it channels the air to the back, keeping it away from baby.. But with my Son, it just wouldn't happen. Not to mention, the fact that after every suck, milk would pour down freely from...
...

questions says "The Pump in Style breast pump is discreet and efficient." about Medela Pump in Style

Medela's Pump in Style breast pump is a great choice for mom's on the go. It conveniently carries all the necessary equipment and includes an insulated cooler to keep milk cold for 8 hours (with ice packs) all while looking like a large briefcase or computer bag. It stands true to all of Medela's product standards and is one of the most effective, non-commercial (not in the hospital) pumps on the market.

The Pump in Style is an electric, optional double or single pump with a variety of speeds and intensities to choose from, which means a mom can pump one or both breasts at the same time and finish in 20 minutes or less. The speed and intensity options allow for personalization, comfort, and a more natural mimic of baby's unique suck. The pump also boasts a battery pack to use when outlets aren't available.

As an experienced mom, I have used this pump through three children, working and at home. The pump has pulled me through 8-hour shifts, mastitis, and long car trips with ease. I...
...

questions says "LeapFrog Writer is great for developing concentration!" about LeapFrog LeapFog Writer

Leap Frog has really improved the market of learning toys and activities for kids. They've recently come out with some wonderful toys and games for babies and kids including the Leap Frog Writer. The Writer, like other LeapPads, uses special books and cartridges to engage kids ages Preschool through the early Elementary years. It can read any LeapPad books; however the Writer includes a retractable pencil to use with its own specialty books. The Writer's books teach early literacy and handwritting skills to preschoolers, including numbers and letters, and has books for early elementary with "fill-in" answer blanks to improve its educational value.

I love the Writer for its ability to keep my 4-year-old son's attention for extended periods of time, teaching him valuable "sit skills" necessary for school. It is easy for him to exchange cartridges and books and follow the clearly voiced directions. The Writer also prepares him for older material in a fun way, keeping his focus with colorful...
...

The Chicco Key Fit is incredibly easy to install in many vehicles, which can help make it a safer choice since proper installation is key to safety. The Key Fit 30 can be used for babies up to 30 lbs., so you should get a longer useful life out of it. Key Fit has liquid leveling indicators, an easy to find belt-routing area and a secure locking system that makes it easy to get a tight fit without LATCH. The center-pull LATCH adjuster makes LATCH installations incredibly easy. Chicco Key Fit is also fairly lightweight, which is nice if you intend to carry it outside the car a lot.
...

I bought about five Old Navy Maternity Shirred V-Neck Tees when I became pregnant. I am a petite woman, so other maternity clothes were never small enough for me. These Old Navy tees fit me perfectly around the shoulders and yet give room for a growing belly! I started wearing these tees when I was around 3 1/2 months pregnant with my second child when other shirts were a little too short to cover the pants I was having to let out. These tees are very lightweight, so they show protruding belly buttons through very quickly. I like the lightweight material, though, because I do not get hot in these shirts. I also like the color selections that Old Navy had in these shirts. They had plenty to choose from, and I actually felt like I was getting to pick what I liked instead of just picking what was available. I would definitely recommend these shirts to all pregnant women! Even those who are pregnant during the winter would enjoy these shirts as part of a layered look.
...

amberandbaby says "Gerber Nuk Bottles are a great way to control spit up." about Gerber Nuk 8 oz nurser set Baby Bottle

Gerber Nuk bottles are gerat! I was experimenting with bottles when i found out my 3 month old had Acid Reflux. Turns out this bottle nearly stopped all the spit up due to its air system. The only concern I have with this bottle is that when I shake the formula before i feed my son a little formula does leak out of the bottle at the top where the hole for the air system is. Also it is a bit wide. It's wider than most other bottles so it doesn't fit in some diaper bag pockets. Because it's so wide, it's a little harder wash with a bottle brush. I have to clean it a little longer than other bottles but it's not a huge deal. Overall I would definantley reccomend these bottles. My son's spit up stopped almost completley because of these bottles. It saved me a lot of clean outfits and we definantley didn't go through as many bibs. I felt more comfortable taking him places because he wasn't spitting up all over the place.
...

2001 Century Car Seat Recall

Potential Problem:
The harness adjustment locking mechanism on the affected restraint system models may allow the harness webbing to slip through the device during a serious motor vehicle collision when the convertible restraint system is in the forward facing mode. The child may not be properly restrained, possibly resulting in serious injury or death.

Solution:
Consumers with Century car seats manufactured between April 9, 2001 and May 10, 2001 should contact Century at 1-800-837-4044 regarding the arrangements to replace the car seat. Consumers should have the model name, model number and date of manufacture of the car seat when making the call to the company. The information is located on the label adhered to the car seat.

*As parents ourselves we understand your concern about anything potentially involving the safety of your child.
If you are one of the families affected by a Simplicity recall, please visit the Simplicity website at or call the CPSC hotline...
...

We are new parents, we've tried everything, from costco brand to huggies pampers you name the diaper we most likely tried it. Then when she was about 4 month olds flip flopping between diaper brands, we got a value bx of luv's because they were on sale and we still had a huge amount of other diapers so we figured we weren't losing out on anything. First they were thin which worried me about leaking. I then noticed that it had a leak absorbant protection and that it does. My daugter is tiny but she has a little but so the other diapers were either too small or too big, and these diapers just hugged her even whenn she took off crawling. We don't even have to smell her to see if shes has poop you can tell by the diaper which is nice since I've never been a fan of smelling my daughters butt. These diapers are great for people on a budget espcially now a days. The phrase you get what you paid for does not even compare to this. You get way more for your money!
...

We are new parents and we started with Avent since I was unable to breast feed. These bottles offered several different types of nipples for the next flow for her. Then when she started to hold her own bottle they had training bottles with rings for her to learn how to hold. Also they start it off easy to help her learn how to use a sippy cup and get off the nipples. Also we tried other brushes other than the one that comes with the bottles no other brush works as well as the brush they provide for bottles. The system is so thought out and easy to help your child progress with their feedings and learning how to feed themselves. My daughter will not even let us hold her bottles for her since I always have the handles on the side. And they fit for every bottle, whether it is the sippy cups or her formuls bottles. They are just convenient and hassle free system. I could not imagine using any other bottle system for my daughter.
...

She didnt spit up as much as any of the other formulas we tried. even though breast milk was her preferance she would tolerate enfamil lipil the best out of the rest her spit up and colic was reduced compared to other brands. i liked the fact that they were able to put some of the stuff found in breast milk into this product i didnt feel as guilty either about giving this to her.. I found this is also the product alot of moms have and still do used over a mojority fo the rest. when i asked some moms why they like this product over the rest alot it was said that it wasnt as expensive and their babies were not as spit uppy as with other brands as well. it doesnt seem to stain as much as other might. it doesnt smell strongly like others do.

IN REJECTING MY OPINIONS I THINK SHE IS GIVING THE CHILDREN DIGESTION PROBLEMS. IN NO WAY AM I SAYING THE FORMULA IS BAD. JUST BAD FOR THES THREE CHILDREN.

I was very impressed with this pump. I researched (to death) breast pumps as I planned to keep nursing even after returning to work. As recommended by the Baby Bargains book- which is a must-read, I chose and bought this one from the other brands and I'm so happy I did! I used it for 9 mos straight, carried it back & forth to work- it was so lightweight that it wasn't an inconvenience during my 1.5hr commute to work. The best part about this pump is that you can regulate the cycle (how fast) and suction (how strong) of the pump. Also, the hygieni-kit is a marvelous idea- none of the other parts come in contact w/ the breastmilk, so clean-up is a breeze. You just basically have to wash the flasks & bottles used after each pump session. You can also pump ...
...

My baby loves mirrors and "crinkle" stuff so the Sassy Me in the Mirror with MP3 was a big hit. The bird (is it a bird? Whatever the blue thing is in the upper corner) is crinkly and the sun turns and has a squeaker in it (although my baby isn't old enough to squeak it yet).

I thought I was going to love the MP3 attachment...but honestly it kinda sucked.

1) The attached cable is EXTREMELY short. I know it can't be long since it's a toy for a baby, but it is SO short that it's difficult to get the ipod hooked up.

2) It doesn't hook up to my iPhone.

3) Contrary to another review I read (on Amazon), the sound does NOT come through the sun--at least as far as I can tell. It can definitely be heard coming out the REAR of the mirror, though...which leads to #4.

4) It can't take much of an an increase in volume--since the sound comes out the back, when the mirror was front-facing (as it would be if the baby was playing with it), we had to turn it up to even hear it--and at full volume the...
...

heaven981 says "I loved using Enfamil Gentle Ease Lipil for my kids. " about Enfamil Gentle ease lipil

I started using Enfamil Gentle Ease Lipil baby formula with my son. Now it's the only formula I use for my daughter. I also recommended it to my sister, and it's what she uses for her daughter. I've never used a different formula product, even if something else is on sale. It is worth the price no matter what else is on special. If I do have anymore children, this will also be the formula I use. And if anymore friends or family have babies, this will definitely be the formula that I recommend to them to use. My older sister was the one who told me about this product. She used it for her two daughters, and swares by it. She tried other formulas, but she said this was the only one her daughters liked, and would take. My best friends' baby also uses it. Somehow he can taste the difference in the formula, and throws the bottle if it's not the Enfamil Gentle Ease Lipil, and she's tried 4 or 5 other formula brands.
...

lilynjesse says "just love these playtex angle bottles, easy to clean, baby luvs!" about Playtex 5 oz & 9 oz. Baby Bottle

i have used playtex bottles with all my children. i love the price. they are easy to clean and easy to feed with. the larger nipple allows me to go from bottle feeding to breast feeding without nipple confusion. the nipple are sold at many places so they are easy to replace. there are both girl and boy designs. and there are different sizes. they come in sets and are sold in singles as well. so if you wanted to try one out on your baby before you buy a whole set to be cost effective you can. the whole bottle comes apart so that you know you are getting the entire bottle clean. i tried many bottles with my daughter( my first child) but this one was her favorite. when my son came along i used platex and nuk. the nuk set was a gift and he liked both about the same. And now that i have another due in just a few weeks :) IT'S A BOY!! i plan on using the same two brands. call me a creature of habit but when you find something that works stick with it. :)
...
