lisaibrown64 says "Shame of those who sell gasoline" about Gasoline Price Scam

I am really unhappy with the current situation with gasoline. It is really hard for anyone in these times to live easily. I am concerned because of the greed of others, I may be stuck in the Bay area forever. Is it too much for people to be charged a fair price? Instead of the government going after those that are making huge profits, they are again speaking of taxing the taxpayers. How far is this I ask you? The gas prices have affected all of us. I am speaking about if you do not have the money to buy a ticket to get home now, the chance that in the winter time you may not be able to get there. I have a lot of health problems and now I worry about what is going to happen to me. All of my family lives on the east coast. I wonder if the people who sell these items are concerned with the hardship they are putting on others. We need to hold oil companies accountable. Why should the be able to post records...

OldHippie says "The Ultimate In Self Service" about QuikTrip

QuikTrip is not nationwide...yet. Given time, I believe they will expand more & more. QuikTrip offers more than just gas. At many locations they are a fuel stop for truckers also. In the morning you can find fresh breakfast sandwiches & donuts; not to mention the varieties of coffee. (Coffee...one of life's vital nutrients.) They sell everything from new & used DVDs to magazines to gum to bags of ice. (Gotta have ice for the cooler on those fishin' trips.) — Sign up for their debit card and save 2 cents per gallon at the pump. The card is linked to whatever bank account you choose. Once again...BIG DEAL! (He said sarcastically) Given a 20 gallon fill up at $3.99 a gallon vs. $3.97 you save a whopping 40 cents. — I've found QuikTrips to be clean & well stocked. None of them have an outside restroom as in days of old. The sales help behind the counter always seem to be quick & freindly....

mysticstarfish says "Turtle Wax Ice is Awesome!!" about Turtle Wax Ice Liquid Polish

My first purchase of Turtle Wax Ice Liquid Polish was last summer. My husband and I used it weekly on our cars. After the first use we saw a big difference in the shine on the cars. — Ice is made with silicone which gives it an amazing shine. Unlike many other polishes, Ice can be applied in direct sunlight. This is a great feature, because I don't know anyone that would wash their car in the dark or on a cloudy day. — The product can also be use on the plastic exterior parts of your vehicle. My car has running boards made of black plastic, and the back of the mirrors on my husband's truck are the same black material. This product works excellent on them. It doesn't leave any kind of polish or water stain. — Over the winter we can't hand wash our vehicles, so we bring them to the local car wash to remove the road salt and dirt. It wasn't until mid-spring when we started hand washing again....

Katrena says "Armour All Spot & Wash made my '93 look like new" about Armour All Spot & Wash Heavy Duty Car Wash

I drive a 1993 Chevy Cavalier with over 265,000 miles. I don't typically wash my car by hand because a drive-thru usually does the trick with a lot less help from my three young daughters. Unfortunately, the car wash didn't get the rice goop off. — The squeegie at the gas station didn't either...not even the one that had soapy looking water. — I finally pulled out my bucket, cleaning supplies and some Armour All Spot & Wash Heavy Duty Car Wash one day and threw caution to the wind with the girls. — It lathered like crazy and got the rice goop off like a charm. I even got it rinsed off without too many meltdowns from the child who doesn't like to get wet but does like to take off all her clothes. — I don't normally drive with a bowl of rice on my roof but I was late and distracted on that day. Did I mark that I'm sleep deprived? — After washing the car I took the girls to the playground, and a nice couple walked up with their granddaughter and...

So I have been looking online for a way to save some gas since here in Arizona it has risen well above $4.00 a gallon. The thing that I kept seeing was these people writing to sell you instructions on how to build a unit to make your car run on water. I am sure a lot of you have seen this out there. I then began to research it. The more I found on it the more I wanted to buy the plans and build one of these. Then right before I spent the money I heard of a company here in Arizona that actually has these units and will install them on my car, but the best part was they offered a full 100% money back guarantee. I was excited but still a bit skeptical cause they claimed to be able to increase my mpg by 20-45%. After some time I took the plunge and ordered the unit. The web site said 7-10 days before it ships and 2-5 days to be shipped from the factory in GA. It was a wait well worth it let me tell you why. When...

Anyone that owns a motorcycle knows the frustration when they hit that horn button, it is not very loud at all. Since cars are getting more sound proof each year it continues to get more dangerous for the motorcycle rider as cars cannot hear our horn. I have had many times been completely ignored when I sound my horn at a car cutting me off. It is bad enough many do not see us but they don't hear us either and that is a major Safety Issue! — — I have made many changes on my V Star since I bought it and many have been safety related changes. I added Cobra exhaust pipes to give myself not only good looks but a louder sound to help me be heard. I added LED Lights to help be seen as well and like most riders I use my High Beams during the day to help me be seen by others. My latest addition was a new horn that will not go unnoticed! — — I looked at many loud horns and then did research on them to make sure that not only would it last but that it would work on...

kid-kansas says "A great way to control those extra lights you want to add!" about Scootworks -- Auxilliary Light Switch

I not only want to be unique but I also want to be seen by others when I am on the road. Sounds a bit selfish in a way but my reasoning is purely for safety purposes. A majority of the car/truck vs. motorcycle accidents are because they didn't see the motorcycle and to me that is a scary thought. It won't keep me from riding because I love the feeling of being in the open air. So I want to be sure that I stand out so that I am noticed! — — Scootworks Auxiliary Light Switch — — This switch is made to bolt on your handlebars on either your brake reservoir or clutch perch and is polished on the side that shows. The switch also comes with stainless steel bolts to mount it with. It is rated for 140 watts continuous and will handle a set of driving/passing lights with no problem. — — Okay we all know that with me being a Redneck that I have to be different...lol Actually I was different this time out of practicality instead.

By now a lot of you have read about my 2008 V Star 650 Classic and all of the add ons I have put on my Lil' Blue, well I have another addition to tell you about. Even at 6' 2" I find that to get into a comfortable cruising position I was a little bit shy of achieving it. My new Bikers Friend Saddlebag Backrest helped a lot but I felt I could still improve on my comfort level. After many searches I have found that elusive piece that would help me obtain my desired sitting position. — — Scootworks PhatRisers — — For those that don't know the piece where the handlebar attaches to the front end or Triple Tree is called a Riser, on a bicycle you call it a gooseneck. Anyway the stock riser is right around 1 to 1 1/2" high with hardly any backward rake (angle toward the rider). I found Scootworks (www.scootworks.com) through my searches and found that they are located in Zebulon North Carolina and they make many solutions for todays motorcycle owner.

Rain - X Glass Treatment — — Sometimes you find out about a product and you wonder how you got along without it. — — I don't exactly live behind the wheel, but I've been driving 4 decades and put significant miles on each day commuting and joyriding on the weekends. — — Through all the four seasons you never think about your windshield unless you can't see out of it; then it becomes a priority. I usually keep my car washed and waxed and the wiper blades replaced, yet sometimes the fog and rain will get the better of me and it gets difficult to keep ahead of it. That was before Rain - X. — — Rain - X is a liquid that you apply to a clean windshield and then buff off, just like cleaning your windshield. It dries completely invisible but it makes the glass too slippery to hold water. The little beads of water fall right off or are explosively blown off if you are driving at highway speeds.
kid-kansas says "When you need to carry small packages on your motorcycle." about Bell - Strapper Motorcycle Cargo Net

Remember back when you were young and you rode your bike to the store and then carried the bag in one hand while you steered with the other? Well that is not a very smart thing to do and more than likely you crashed a few times because you did it that way. Riding a motorcycle requires that both hands are controlling the bike. One way to carry things is with a set of Saddlebags (which I am working on) another is to have a cargo net. — — Bell Strapper Cargo Net — — I picked this up at Walmart today because I also bought me a pair of riding boots. I needed a way to get home without wrecking so I grabbed this on my way out the store (yes I paid for it...lol) It is the same material that those bungee straps are made of but it is woven into a net. There are 6 hooks on it (1 on each end and 2 on each side) to strap what you're carrying down securely while you ride. It will hold a spare helmet or in my case a large boot box and keep it from moving around....

kid-kansas says "Even hard heads like me need protection while riding!" about Galaxy Helmets -- Model GX-601

When I bought my V Star I knew I still had my helmets from my other bike but they were over 10 years old. Over the years the D.O.T (Department of Transportation) specifications have changed as new materials were developed. Each helmet is stamped with a D.O.T approval number and in states with helmet laws you must have a current or within a few years anyway approved helmet. — — Now Kansas does not have a helmet law (except for 17 and younger), now my noggin is hard but not that hard. So with my old helmets being outdated and possibly not as strong as they once were I decided to get new helmets. I looked all over the place but had a hard time finding the color and style I wanted. Seems the Full Face helmets are getting more and more popular. For me it is just too claustrophobic and blocks my side vision too much for it to feel comfortable to me. — — I finally found what I wanted on Ebay, yes the Internet shopping spot for hard to find...

Stuffing trash into the cup holders of our cars is usually not a good idea since they are full of trash when needed most to hold a cup of liquid. Therefore, I decided to purchase a couple of these to put into each car. They can attach to just about anything in the care such as around the head rest or center console using the nylon strap and buckle at the top of the chute. The hole at the top has a collar and ellastic to keep things inside the bag, but this makes it a little difficult when trying to wedge a soda can in with one hand while driving. Also regarding soda cans and the like... This bag is made of nylon, but it isn't lined with anything and doesn't appear to be coated either. This makes it possible for liquids to seep through and slightly more difficult to clean out if chocolate or something melts and sticks inside the bag. The bottom of the bag is actually rolled up and held closed with velcro. This makes it easy to empty since...

I needed something to condition leather after I cleaned it real good and I found this Meguiar's Leather Cleaner/Conditioner that I thought I would give a whirl. My bike being brand new only needed a light cleaning and then a good conditioner to keep the seat and backrest soft and supple. However I did need a good conditioner for my leather jacket that I cleaned with my Blue Magic Cleaner. — — Meguiar's Motorcycle Leather Cleaner/Conditioner — — This comes in a squeeze bottle that you need to shake well before using and then you can clean and condition your leather. It comes out like a hand lotion would and is white and very creamy. It however does not contain any Lanolin which would make things slippery and for a seat you don't want any slipping around! This worked great on my seat and backrest and gave it a light shine but no slippery spots and that is important. — — Then I decided it was time to tackle my Leather Jacket with...
