My 2004 Chevy Blazer came with these tires on it. We now have 63,500 miles on it and have now just replaced the tires. We replaced them with the same Uniroyal tires. We checked prices of other comperable tires and found there was no reason to spend more $$$ for a tire that is just as good, with a 60,000 mile warranty —...

cant go wrong with any of the meguiars products. the gold class liquid wax is an amazing product and works wonders for my vehicles paint. it is extremely easy to apply and comes off great. leaves very little of the white residue around plastic and emblems, etc. best of all after removing it, i can step back and gaze into my cars deep rich paint. i love this product and will continue to use it in the future for sure. i highly reccomend this product to...

bkovacs says "This Canton Racing filter is not as convenient as it should be" about Canton Racing Products - CM-15 Billet Spin-On Oil Filter

I have a Porsche 968 and it has many excellent things in its favor. One thing decidedly not in its favor is the location of its oil filter. There is no way to remove an old oil filter without oil spilling on various suspension/steering components, then the spilled oil slowly eats away at the rubber seals and bushings in these components. Further, you have to remove an under-engine cover to handle the gush of oil that comes from the removed oil filter. It's a real mess and the guy responsible for engineering the oil filter's location should be forced to come to my home and clean the oil from my car with cotton swabs. — Then I heard of a possible solution: A Canton Racing filter with a removable top, which lets you swap filter cartridges without a deluge of old oil. I eventually got one for my car and installed it. — What it is — I got a Canton Racing CM-15 Billet Spin-On oil filter, which has a part number of 25-282. It consists of a device that pretty...

bkovacs says "Cheap? No, it's a good value." about Wal-Mart - SuperTech Motor Oil

I'm sold on the benefits of synthetic lubricants for cars. It's my experience over many years and many cars that it's best to use synthetic oil in car engines. Problem is that synthetic oil costs a lot more than regular (mineral) oil, usually at least twice as much and often much more. Several years ago, I found that Wal-Mart sells its own brand of synthetic motor oil called SuperTech, and it is a great bargain among synthetic oils. — For a long time, Wal-Mart SuperTech synthetic oil cost $3 per quart and $12 for a five-quart container. Like all petroleum products, it has gone up and a five-quart bottle now costs around $14.50, which works out to $2.90 per quart. Compare that to Mobil One synthetic oil, which costs around $5 per quart. — What it is — Wal-Mart's SuperTech synthetic motor oil is intended to be used as a lubricant in modern car engines, and is suitable for any engine built after 1980. It comes in only one viscosity grade that I know about: 5W-30....

bkovacs says "Easy to install and a perfect fit" about Eagle Eyes - Subaru Legacy Headlight

Lots of cars today have elaborate plastic headlight assemblies that get hazy and crazed over the years, which steal efficiency from the headlights. (See pictures on right.) My 1995 Subaru Legacy's headlights were nearly milky white from heavy crazing, and this had to make the lights dimmer and less focused. I decided that good safety practice meant it was time to replace the headlight assemblies with new, clear ones. Online, I found a pair of Eagle Eyes headlight assemblies for my 1995 Subaru for $110 each, which I thought was a very good price. The part numbers of these assemblies are SR015-B001L (left) and SR015-B001R (right). They should fit Subaru Legacys built through 1995 to April 1997. These headlight assemblies are made in Taiwan -- the originals were made in the USA. — What it is — The Eagle Eye headlight is a large plastic assembly that is mostly empty. The front is a clear plastic lens and everything behind the lens is made from black plastic. Inside the...

GeorgeChabot says "Unique engine guard adds safety and eye appeal to your Harley" about Linby - Twinbar Model 1201 for Harley Heritage Softail

This is a replacement for the standard chrome engine guard mounted on the heavyweight Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail motorcycle. — — Engine guards, also known as crash bars protect the motorcycle if it should happen to tip over, catching it before the bike lands on the expensive parts like the control levers or the engine. — — I have a 2006 Heritage Softail with the ESFI fuel injected Twin Cam 88B engine. This is a heavyweight cruiser with leather saddlebags and windshield and the bike needed a little customizing so the Linby Twinbar was selected as a key element that would add both safety and a touch of class. — — This bar is quite a bit dressier than the standard chrome steel tubular engine guards that usually are seen on Harleys. The Linby Twinbar is made from billet aluminum, triple chrome plated and is tricked out with both a flat top surface and two swing out blades that can be used as highway pegs. The flip down pegs even angle back...

I took my car to Rainbow Muffler for a simple emissions inspection and sat there for over an hour before I had to ask the young man who was working on my car what was going on. I decided to go back into the work area to see if I could maybe learn a little about the car and why it was failing. That's when I noticed my fiberglass hood was propped up against the wall standing on it's corners (the end nearest the windshield). As he was placing the hood back onto the car I noticed that the hood had cracked at both corners, so i walked up and inspected the damage. He automatically piped up and claimed that he didn't know anything about it and furthermore that he had laid it on the shop floor instead of propping it up so that it wouldn't get blown over. So I brought the car home and showed my husband the damage and he proceeded to call the manager who told him that he had worked on the car for free for an hour and that he wasn't going to do anything about it. So I called and asked for the...

There are so many things you can add to your motorcycle but none quite as practical as a luggage rack. There are many styles and sizes to choose from but you are however limited by the type of passenger backrest system you have installed. This was my dilemma on my recent purchase of my luggage rack. — — Custom World International Luggage Rack 05-2622 — — After searching through their catalog and being limited to only those made for my backrest I picked out a nice 9"x9" luggage rack with an Eagle on it. This is not a large rack but will do the job I need it to do and doesn't look bulky on the back of my bike. It is a nice looking piece and does add a bit of bling to Lil' Blue, plus it is functional as well and that's what counts! — — I am in the process of getting a backrest bag that will sit nicely on this luggage rack and hold plenty for my trip to Indiana later this summer. Around town I will have enough capacity to enable me...

A good addition to any vehicle are those that allow the engine to work more efficiently. You can do two things to accomplish this, one is to allow it to breathe better by getting a free flow air cleaner. The other is to allow the engine to expel the exhaust in a more efficient manner than they give you at the factory. While allowing the exhaust gases to exit easier a new set of pipes can also give a motorcycle a beefier sound to let people know you're there and that is a safety aspect I like! — — Another great thing about adding these new Cobra pipes is that I now have more clearance to add a larger saddlebag for those long trips I plan on taking with Lil' Blue this summer! That way I can take some goodies to give my Grandbabies when I go visit them in July! — — Cobra Slip on, Slash cut exhaust pipes — — When I bought Lil' Blue (2008 V Star Classic) she had plenty of chrome to please the eyes and the stock pipes looked good but were...

I am sure some of you remember my little fiasco with the backrest pad I ordered that set me forward 2" and made my ride a very uncomfortable experience. Well after I returned it I set out on a quest to find a solution to having a backrest that was comfortable and one that wasn't gonna break the bank either. It took me about 2 weeks of searching until I found a solution to the backrest problem. In the process I also solved another problem which I will tell you about in just a minute. — — Bikers Friend Saddlebag Backrest — — Yes you read that right I got my backrest and storage space all in one Sweet Product.

I had a hard time deciding on whether to choose 3 or 4 stars. If possible I'd rate this a 3.5. It's not a bad tire. It has excellent dry weather traction thoughout it's lifetime, and is a quiet tire throughout it as well. It has good wet and snow traction, until it gets closer to the end of it's service life. It has equally good ride characteristics, giving your car a sporty feel without having sidewalls so stiff that your fillings fall out. Internally, the Potenza RE92 features twin steel belts reinforced by spiral-wrapped nylon belt edge strips (for H-speed rated sizes) or a full spiral-wrapped cap ply along with single belt edge strips (for V-speed rated sizes). This means (as usual) the V rated tire has a stiffer sidewall and sportier (or harsher depending on what you are looking for), ride. The big disadvantage that this tire has, in it's quest for a balance in everything(perhaps), is a very low treadwear...
