candigirlmi says "Loved the private entrance directly into California Adventure" about Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa on Disneyland Resort Property - Anaheim, CA

We had a great view of California Adventure and loved the separate entrance they have directly into the park from the hotel. The hotel is nicely situated so that it borders Downtown Disney on one side and California Adventure on the other side.

The hotel is just beautiful - you feel like you have stepped into a massive lodge at a national park when you are inside the hotel and yet you are right in the middle of all the action the minute you step outside the hotel. The rooms are luxurious and spacious and have nice amenities like wide screen tvs and daybeds.

All three of the hotels are wonderful to stay at. Paradise is the best value with a great pool and great views of California Adventures. Disneyland Hotel has the best theming in their rooms, their pools and the entire hotel. Disney's Grand Californian is luxury and convenience. They all have great pluses and very few minuses. I would gladly stay at any of them in the future.
...

candigirlmi says "Great location, lots of theme and great for families" about Disneyland Hotel - Anaheim, CA

Our room overlooked Downtown Disney and parts of Disneyland were also visible - we were able to see the fireworks from our room. When you step out the door you are right there at Downtown Disney with a very quick walk to the monorail or a slightly longer walk to the main entrance.

The themed pool is wonderful for children - it feels like you are still in the park and is a great way to cool off and relax mid day before you head back and tackle the rest of the rides and shows.

We loved having early entry - we had early entry 3 of the 4 days we were staying and took advantage of it every time. It was nice to get a jump start on the really busy rides like Nemo and to just be able to walk on other rides.

There are some nice touches of history and theming throughout the hotel. More so than the other two hotels on property. It is everywhere in the rooms, the bedspreads, the wall paper, the tv stand, headboards and the mickey glove lights in the bathroom. We...
...

candigirlmi says "Great view of California Adventure" about Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel on Disneyland Resort Property - Anaheim, CA

Our room had a wonderful view of California Adventure that made you feel like you were staying in the park even though it was a few minutes walk away. The pool and water slide are great. We had a rental vehicle that we didn't head out in very much but we were happy to see the attached parking garage.

The hotel is just a few minutes walk to Downtown Disney and the monorail that takes you into the heart of Disneyland. If you walk just a little bit further you can go to the main entrance instead. We have now tried all three of the Disney hotels on property and this one is a great value. I would definitely stay here again.
...

candigirlmi says "Great to visit the place where it all began" about Disneyland

There is a wonderful sense of history and joy at Disneyland. We took the guided Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour and really enjoyed hearing how the park came together and how it inspired the changes that became Walt Disney World.

I am a huge Walt Disney World fan, however, I didn't feel the need to constantly compare the parks. The park has a wonderful charm and innocence about it. It was built to be a playground for children and parents and it really captures that family spirit.

We also enjoyed California Adventure very much. The Aladdin musical was incredible - just long enough for parents to feel like they had seen a first class play and just short enough to keep the attention of the children. It was a great way to take a break from the heat and running around at the park. Soaring over California is magical and something I'm sure Walt Disney would have been very proud to have in his parks.
...

candigirlmi says "Just got hooked and now its ending" about Battlestar Galactica

I borrowed the DVDs and just started watching. I can't believe I haven't been watching this all along. I saw the original growing up and it was silly and fun for its time so I enjoyed it for what it was. The new show borrows names and basic concepts from the original and everything else is a world apart. The characters, story-lines and visual effects are stunning, intelligent and some of the best TV I have ever seen.

I just caught up to this season and although I'm sad to see it ending it is also fun to see the things that a show can do when they know it is their last season. I won't write any spoilers just in case but knowing it is the last season in advance helps you understand why some of the things they do are possible. I look forward to watching the rest of the show and seeing where it takes us.
...
