calic0gal says "Bounce Dryer Bar sticks to the job!" about Bounce Dryer Bar

I received a sample of the Bounce Dryer Bar to try. At first, I thought it smelled WAY too strong. I really don't like my clothes to have a lot of scent when they come out of the dryer, so I was concerned. However, the scent that is left on the clothes after drying is nice and light and pleasant - not overpowering at all.

I didn't read the instructions as carefully as I should, and I guess I placed the bar in the wrong spot. I put it on the back of the drum, not on the side. This was a big mistake....three times in a row, the tumbling dryer action caused the door to open, stopping the dryer. Since this had never happened before, I assumed it had to have something to do with the dryer bar. I looked at the picture more carefully, and realized I had put the bar in the wrong spot. I was able to pry it off the dryer, but then I was concerned that the adhesive would not "stick" again to a new spot. Well, I placed it and pressed it into place, and amazingly, it has stayed perfectly in...
...

calic0gal says "PureVia Tastes Good to Me!" about PureVia All Natural Zero Calorie Sweetener

I recently received a sample of the new PureVia sweetener, tried it out a few different ways, and I can give it my whole-hearted approval!

I usually make my morning cup of coffee with 1 tsp. of Splenda and 1 (heaping) tsp. of real sugar.....and a splash of soymilk. A couple of days ago, I was running late...but also wanted to try Purevia....so I grabbed a couple of the packets and did NOT use any real sugar. Honestly, the coffee tasted great! I didn't miss the regular sugar at all. Now I know that saving 20 calories may not mean much to many of you, but for those trying to lose weight, any small change here or there can add up.

At snack time, I added 1/2 a packet to some raspberries I brought along (from our garden). They weren't as sweet as they could have been, so the little bit of PureVia made them more the real treat that they should be....sweet and tasty. I didn't notice any after taste, either.

And lastly, I added a packet to my evening tea. It was a nice smooth cup, and it tasted...
...

calic0gal says "With Windex Outdoor Window Cleaner...I finally got the job done!" about Windex Outdoor All-In-One Window Cleaner

Although I am generally a neat and very organized person around the house, I absolutely hate cleaning the outside windows! I procrastinate every year. What a hassle....I need a chair or step-ladder to reach the windows, window cleaner, squeegee, paper towels and a garbage bag to put the used ones in. It takes a couple of hours to do all the outside windows in this manner, plus I really hate wasting those expensive paper towels!

Finally, this morning, I mustered up the enthusiasm to attack the windows with the new Windex Outdoor All-In-One Window Cleaner. I still thought it was going to be a time-consuming hassle, and I wasn't convinced that the windows would end up clean, anyway. The windows were fairly dirty, and some of them had a light coating of hard-water deposits in areas (from getting hit with the sprinkler while watering plants).

I started with the sliding glass doors, and was immediately impressed with how quickly they looked good! And it was fast.....wet the window, scrub...
...

calic0gal says "The Kenmore Elite Dishwasher: works great and looks great!" about Kenmore Elite Dishwasher Model 13152

I've had this dishwasher for about 8 months now, and I am truly thrilled with it! lt has lots of features, and really was worth the extra cost. In the past, we never used our dishwasher often. With just two people, it never seemed to be worth the water and energy to use it daily, so it was pretty much a weekend-family-dinner kind of thing. I hate to put something in the dishwasher and have it sit there for a day or two.

This new one, though, is perfect! It can wash the top-rack only, and we can fill up the top-rack almost everyday. It has a water saving feature, and a timer delay, so every night after dinner, we set the dishwasher to wash in the middle of the night. The water saving wash takes quite a bit longer, so the nightime is the best time to use it. It is EXTREMELY quiet....you can barely hear it's on! And it cleans really really well. So far, in 8 months of use, there has only been one time that I found a fork and a bowl with some residue after cleaning. Sometimes I put extra...
...

calic0gal says "Great till it stops working." about Pandigital - (DPF802) Digital Photo Frame

My husband purchased this for me as a gift. It was a little difficult to get it up and operating, but once we figured it out, we were pretty happy with it. We even took it on vacation with us, so we could show the relatives our pictures in a fun way. The pictures themselves seemed to be pretty good quality, they didn't seem to be 'stretched' in any way. It worked nicely....no real problem. After the trip, the frame sat in our living room, and seemed to work fine for months. We didn't keep it on all the time, but whenever we went to use it, it was fine.

Then, suddenly, one day, it simply didn't work anymore. Nothing had happened that would explain it, except that now I'm wondering if it was a power outage (as another reviewer noted) because we definitely had a power outage. No other appliances were affected, however this very expensive photo frame suddenly didn't work anymore.

So we only got about 8 months use out of it. And the reason I am giving it only 2 stars is because there is absolutely...
...

calic0gal says "Helps keep curly hair in control" about Citre Shine Miracle Highly Polished Glossing Pomade 2 Packs 2 oz

I have naturally curly hair that turns into naturally frizzy hair if I don't treat it properly. I use hair gels and scrunch my curls to keep them in control, which usually works pretty well. But recently, due to humidity, my hair was experiencing more "frizziness". I bought this pomade for the first time, out of desperation mostly, and was very pleasantly surprised by the results. I've never bought a pomade before. The very word, "pomade", kind of scared me. What is that?

Well, after reading some great tips online, I tried this procedure which worked really well! After using additional conditioner, rinsing lightly and towel "blotting", then applying hair gel, then scrunching, I allow my hair to partially dry without bothering it too much. Then, taking a small amount of pomade, I smooth it over my hair from the crown down to the ends, almost like I'm going to make a ponytail. It applies a small amount of pomade to the outside of my curls, which doesn't seem like it would work, but it...
...

calic0gal says "Great for your nightly hand treatment" about Burt's Bees Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Creme

I recently bought a jar of Burt's Bees Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Creme, and have been using it for about 2 weeks now.

You don't need to use very much, and I don't think you'd want to use very much, because a little goes a long way. It is a "greasy" kind of creme, but I feel like it's putting a protective coating on my hands. I use it at night, so it's really not a problem for me, and I feel like I'm giving my hands an intensive night treatment. You do not need to use gloves to use it at night, it's not that greasy, and it absorbs pretty quickly. It really feels great when you use it, it makes your hands feel smooth. It is very strongly scented at first, and the scent is not the almond scent I expected. For the first few minutes, the scent is more fruity, and strong, before it eventually settles down to the more subtle almond scent I prefer. The initial scent is not objectionable, but it did take some getting used to. And I have gotten used to it; in fact, I look forward to smoothing the...
...

calic0gal says "Lemony relief for your hands" about Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle creme 0.6 oz.

I've been using Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream for quite a few years. I have one tin in the bathroom, one in my car, one in the bedroom, and one in my purse. First of all, I love the lemony smell. It is truly wonderful, and I actually find myself smelling my hands a little just to enjoy it. When your hands are feeling cracked and tight, this is even better than regular lotion at soothing them, and can be used in a pinch to moisturize small areas.

I don't limit this cream to just my cuticles. Because I do a lot of gardening and working outdoors, my hands get pretty rough. And in the winter, with the cold temperatures arriving, I can count on getting cracked and irritated skin on my knuckles and fingertips. Once a week or so, I buff my nails and then apply this cream to the cuticles, the entire nail, and then the tops of both my hands, including the knuckes and finger tips. It does make my hands kind of "greasy" feeling, but it doesn't last long before the cream is absorbed. I often...
...
