blackmagic says "You get what you pay for and more" about LG - 42LC7D Television

This is a well manufactured 42" LCD flat screen. Came in the box all set up and ready to go. Only one F connector cable included so if you need HDMI, DVI, composite or component plan on getting them seperate. Let's start with the price. It's about $1300 MSRP. Anything under $ 1000 is a good deal. Remember tax may be added and that can add a chunk of change to the price. If you order it on-line you may avoid the tax but probably will pay shipping. Personally i don't like the shipping monkeys tossing around my 50 pound 42" plastic LCD so i tend to buy locally, so if there is a problem i can return it with no problems. Ok, now the quality!!! It's black shiny plastic which seems pretty durable.Comes with a special antistatic cleaning cloth to keep it shiny. Base doesn't swivel. Side and rear connections and buttons are good quality but connections in rear come straight out so could be a problem with some wall mounts. Universal remote control is pretty good. Good button layout and actually......

blackmagic says "Just perfect for Home Theater & light gaming" about Gigabyte GA-MA69GM-S2H Motherboard

I have nothing negative to say about this motherboard. It fit the scenerio that i was going to use it in perfectly. Compact MATX size fits in most home theater cases or small mid-towers. Great over clocking bios but does not offer voltage adjustment unless you install a special bios available on the net. No voltage adjustment means some memory sticks will run a little loose at lower 1.8 voltages. No way to boost voltage unless you load the special bios. This is a fast board by AMD standards and can handle all AM2 processors and with a bios update the new quad Phenoms. The built in AMD 690G graphics (ATI 1250) is just perfect for home theater. HDCP compliant allows you to play any DVD's at 720 or 1080. The sound is Azalia high def with up to 7.1. Four SATA ports are enough for most, and raid option is included. Now the best part is that you can add one PCI e 16 video card for some mid level gaming. The better the card the better your games will perform. Quality components are all over the...
...

blackmagic says "Great buy for $100 or less" about Cooler Master 690 with P.S. (DHCM690550W) Micro ATX Case

Received my coolermaster 690 w/ 550 W power supply. Packaged nicely but abused by Fedex. Still no damage so the packaging was sufficient. This is a large mid tower with lots of room for everything. Will easily handle extra large motherboards and dual SLI video cards. You have a multitude of cooling options as there are 7 fan locations available. It comes with three 120 mm fans running at 1200 RPM which are very quiet. You cannot even hear them. One fan has blue leds which are not overwhelming. Air flow from the fans seems a little on the low side probably because of the punched out metal grills in front of each fan. I removed the grills with a dremel tool and the air flow increased. Also there are several enbossed plastic filters in front of some of the fans. Removing these will also increase airflow. The power supply is 550 W and is the latest model from coolermaster. It is 80% energy efficient, runs real quiet with a 120 mm fan, and produces its rated output and voltages. At 550 w it...
...

blackmagic says "Quality is not #1 at Ford" about Ford Econoline - 2007

Just purchased my latest ford econoline passenger van. I have had four of them in the past 10 years. This latest model was a 7 passenger model designated Chateau. This vehicle was fully loaded as were the previous models. I have stuck with the ford van because the only other alternative was a general motors product. The previous models i owned were pretty much as expected for a full size van type vehicle. Maintenance was average and the previous vans held up pretty well past the 100,000 mile mark. At about the 120,000 mile mark they then seem to require major maintenance. Transmissions, water pumps, coolings lines and yes even one with a cracked frame. The latest 2007 model I received 6 months ago was not a real winner. Interior parts were missing on delivery, a transmission bolt was left out, tires were hard and very noisy. Now remember that this is not a work vehicle, it is a 7 passenger van for road trips. I realize that this is really a work type vehicle but in the past the ride and......

blackmagic says "Professional but pricy" about The Hartford

I had hartford insurance for about 6 years, both auto & home.

I never had a claim. I moved from the northeast to the south a few years ago. I found that their rates were not very competitive in the south. Allstate was a major player as was State farm. The policy that was offered to me by The Hartford was very restrictive with a lot of exclusions in the homeowners area. The Hartfords auto policy was competive with the Allstate & statefarm. Rates for the homeowners were about forty percent higher with the hartford. I went with allstate and consequently had 2 claims within a one year period. Allstates service was flawless.
...
