bjlhymel says "I cannot stop using this thing." about Sony - DSC-H7

Santa brought this camera to us and I am so glad he came early!! I already have gobs of Christmas memories stored on it. It was so easy to upload and I've even printed a few out on my printer and the quality looked pretty good. I am of average intelligence and found this camera easy to understand. I admit, the manual is a little vague at times. However, I "learn by tinkering" and after less than an hour of pressing buttons (lol), I pretty much knew all the basics. I have not tried the video feature yet, but it only allows 30 sec's at a time, so you'd do better NOT to rely on it for any sort of filming. We are very pleased with the quality for the price. We tried "cheap" cameras in the past...and, well, lets just say we got what we paid for. We (or Santa) had to save a little while for this one, but it was worth every single penny!!
...

bjlhymel says "Where I sent our "forgotten film!"" about Snapfish

Okay, I need to explain that headline...My husband and I were cleaning out an old desk that he owned before we were married. We came across a plastic bag full of film that my awesome--but forgetful--hubby actually forgot he had!! I am anal about my pictures and have a scrapbook for everything. So, that could NOT stay undone. My dilemma? I could not afford to bring ALL of the film to the store at one time to be developed. We discussed it and decided to mail one roll off to Snapfish just to "test the waters." He figured we had nothing to lose since he could not even remember what was on the rolls, haha! Well, I was so impressed with their speed, service, cost...everything! They developed all of my husband's "forgotten treasures", a few rolls at a time, until he had several albums full of his priceless, forgotten childhood memories. When we finally caught up with the 21st century and bought our first digital camera, guess who we uploaded our first set of pictures to......

bjlhymel says "The most online shopping fun you can have without money!" about Posh Points

I accidentally found PoshPoints.com several months ago. Since then, I've gotten over 50 items--that I really wanted--in the mail...free!! There is a "catch". You have to earn "points" for the items you want. And, the only way to do that is to post items of your own that you do not want anymore. Once another member requests your item(s), you have to pay to ship to them. However, once you choose what you want you get it free and clear of shipping charges. I have run into a few items that I never received as well as items I swear I sent that other members say they never received. Occasionally, I run into that rude person also! But, hey, its not the majority and its still worth the fun....

bjlhymel says "Functional but not fun" about Coby - MP-C552 MP3 Player

I am sort of on the fence about this product. I think whether or not I'd recommend it to someone would really depend on their lifestyle. For my needs, this MP3 was fine. I only wanted a few songs that I could take with me to the gym without having to hassle with straping on a bulky player. I also wanted basic features since I am a first time owner. I am satisfied with this product for these reasons, but I can easily see how a more seasoned MP3 operator may not be satisfied with this product at all. It only holds 150 songs--enough for my gym workout but even I was still disappointed that I could not add more of my favorites. The manual was simple--unfortunately it was too simple. It completely left out the fact that it had a side button that "locked" and "unlocked" it. This caused me to have to try downloading songs for a while and thinking that the problem was with my computer before finally realizing that it was "locked" for recording. I do like the tiny clip as......

bjlhymel says "Not just a product--a memory maker!" about Sony - Handycam DCR-DVD108 DVD Camcorder

I love that the DVD's can go straight from the camera to the DVD player. It can perform a few advanced functions (fade-ins, fade-outs, etc.). However, there is also the basic functions for everyday users like me. You can even switch the menu from "advanced" to "basic" so that if you're operating it with basic functions, you don't have all those advanced options to have to scroll through. I do not use it enough at night to justify buying the flash. So, I was pleased to find when tinkering with it one night that it has a "back light switch" that does give a decent nighttime picture without any external flash. I actually acquired mine from a friend and I think she was a fool for giving it up (lol)!...
