bibi817 says "Delicious Fun" about Ratatouille

Ratatouille will make you wonder why animation needs to hide behind the mantle of 'it's for children, but grownups will like it, too.' This one's for Mom and Dad, and yep, the kids will like it, too.A lot of animated movies have inspired sequels, notably Shrek, Ratatouille is the first one that made me positively desire one.

Brad Bird has a rare cinematic gift: the ability to stage slam-bang action sequences without neglecting the rich emotional resonance that makes for a great story. The film may be animated, and largely taken up with rats, but its pulse is gratifyingly human. And you have never seen a computer-animated feature with this sort of visual panache and detail.

Ratatouille is delicious fun sure to be savored by audiences of all ages for its sumptuous visuals, clever wit and irresistibly inspiring tale. To me it seems most hearty and tasty, created from fresh ingredients and cooked up with unexpected flavors and dashes of spice, and it leaves a satisfying and inspiring warmth when...
...

bibi817 says "Smart movie that turns its preposterousness into an asset" about Transformers

The effects are put to brilliant use. ...Bay even allows the humans their humanness, too -- elsewhere, John Turturro and Anthony Anderson are very funny in smallish parts, and Julie White steals the movie. Though it's at least 20 minutes too long and uneven dramatically, the acting is sharp, and it features some of the most spectacular action and effects sequences of any movie of its kind.

Michael Bay has created a truly fun, truly American action movie that is so powerful in its cataclysmic destruction that it, like a roller-coaster ride, causes a dizzying migraine that takes some time to wear off.The transformers are like hundred-foot tall action figures, which are entertaining to look at but even more of a thrill to destroy; however, just as entertaining as the destruction are the supporting actors. Although the situation in the film is apocalyptic, it still loosens up by having every single character serve as comic. Although many of the jokes are cheap and not well developed, they...
...

bibi817 says "amazing, best-looking player" about Philips - GoGear HDD1630 MP3 Player

Easy to setup, Easy to use, Great interface. Just looking at this player makes you want to use it. Extremely portable, smaller then the Creative Micro Zen by Far.

The first thing to understand is that this Mp3 player is not an iPod, don't mistake it for one. The screen on this player is smaller, this player has more features, and is of a slightly different size. This player is everything you need in a player, its small, elegant, multi-functional, and reliable as far as I can tell (I've had mine for a few weeks and listen to it for 8 hours straight when I'm at work). The Philips GoGear HDD1630's glossy, black surface is highly smudge prone, and the touch-sensitive controls are ultrasensitive. The player's processor isn't always up to speed.

After having done a little bit more research on portable mp3 players, I was stuck between the Creative Micro and this one. After holding both this feels much more comfortable in your hand and POCKET. Both are relatively the same price (depending on which...
...

bibi817 says "lessons for every man, stunning writing" about Everyman

Very much enjoyed the character development and manner Roth chose to tell this story. I'm afraid many will relate all to closely to the choices made by this man, choices with a negative impact on everyone in his family. It's really a story of how we shouldn't live our lives, at least from a moral perspective. Here was a talented and successful, hard working man, who missed what is really important in this one chance some of us get.

This story is nothing less than a contemplation on mortality as seen through the failing of one human being's anatomy. It's a short novel, but it's filled to brimming with passion, ideas, and the question of what it is that truly defines what it means to exist (while thinking every day, in the back of one's mind, of how death is the greatest mystery and one from which nothing that breathes may ever escape). Though it may seem an intensely moribund novel, it is, considered in its entirety, incredibly moving - even life affirming. Philip Roth has taken an ordinary...
...

bibi817 says "very good image & sound quality for low price" about Philips DVD Player

This DVD player is awesome! It plays all of the movies that one can possibly own. It plays movies on all media formats e.g. DVD-R, DVD+R/RW. Also, if you have divx movies, it plays them in high resolution. The USB port is a very nice feature. I've played my divx movies that I have transferred over from my computer to an external hard drive and my thumbdrive.
However there is only one catch, on the USB port, it accepts flash drives/pen drives that have been formatted in FAT or FAT 32, and does not recognize NTFS Format. Typically if you want to add an external drive greater than 32 GB, the dvd player will not recognize it. The alternative is to use a 1-4 gb pen drive.

This DVD player gets the job done at a low cost. I use a 480i TV using RGB cables and you can still tell the difference in the picture from an average DVD player. HDMI support for a non hddvd player is hard to find at a low cost. This is what you need for if you're a dvd person who likes good picture, but if you want good...
...
