http://www.viewpoints.com/aboutme/bettymcg Sun, 30 Mar 2008 19:08:36 GMT Reviews by bettymcg http://www.viewpoints.com/Festiva-Resorts-Banner-Elk-NC-review-f5562 Festiva Resorts bought out Peppertree resorts.   The actual resort in Banner Ellk is a nice place, roomy, and in a pretty location.  They have mini golf, a fish pond, a nice indoor pool, and hiking trails.  But Festiva wants all  the owners to "upgrade" to a points system and pay them about $8000 for the priviledge.  Then they sign you up to pay for it at 0% interest, but neglect to tell you that it is on a credit card at 0% for 6 months and then it goes up to 14% or more.  The maintenance fee goes up too.  Also, it is almost impossible to get someone from customer service to talk to you.  So I wouldn't recommend that you buy a timeshare from...
