bethjo says "Westward Ho" about St. Louis Gateway Arch - St. Louis, MO

I live in St. Louis, and love to take visitors up in the arch. Regardless of how many times I go up, it is always special. —

The arch defines both St. Louis and the drive for westward expansion. There is a museum in the basement which is nice. However, the experience of visiting the arch is only truly experienced when it is seen in combination with the movie that explains how the arch was built. —

The movie is fantastic and gives both kids and adults an idea of how hard it was to construct. Seeing the movie transforms the arch from a great view into a history lesson in construction and architecture. if you are pushed for time and don't see the movie in the arch, buy the video from the gift shop. —

The tram line is generally long. The cars are small. Once up, the view is great. —

One of the two sights I recommend for visitors to St. Louis. —...

bethjo says "A must see....once" about The Eiffel Tower

Paris is a great city, and the Eiffel Tower is the symbol of Paris. The first trip I made to Paris, I looked at the tower from the bottom because the line was long and there were other things to see. This was not a bad decision, and is something I recommend if you are tight on time. —

The second time around, I decided to take the trip to the top. It was a slightly overcast day in September, and the line wasn't too bad. —

I went up on all three levels, and took pictures from each direction on each level. Overall, the view is the same from each level, with the things that you see getting smaller as you climb the tower. The best level to visit is the second, as it is a great combination between distance and detail. —

Some of my favorite pictures were of the legs of the tower as we were going up in the elevator. —...

bethjo says "better than the last blackberry, but not an iphone" about Blackberry - Pearl Smartphone Cell Phone

This is the second blackberry I have owned, and a step up from previous versions. On the positive side, this phone is smaller, has a camera, and also can be used to store music. It has the same blackberry features as previous versions. Battery life seems to be longer than my previous phone and it uses the same battery as my old blackberry, so I now carry around a spare battery. This is great for 2-3 day business trips, as I do not need to carry around the charger and worry about leaving it in a hotel room by accident. —

On the negative side, the smaller phone means that the keypad is smaller. This makes texting a little bit harder. The phone also does not have a built in spell check for e-mail. This is a major negative. —

The final negative is that the screen size is small. This is a great phone until you compare it to an iphone - which has a huge screen and is truly innovative. Unfortunately, my work e-mail doesn't support the iphone, so we are all...

bethjo says "The only thong I'll ever wear" about Hanky Panky Thong

I read a lot about Hanky Panky thongs and decided to go ahead and order a few pairs. All that I can say is that they are all that the reviewers say they are and more. I never thought the word thong could be synonymous with comfort, but these panties have proven me wrong. —

I have six pairs, in black and beige. This is all that I need to ensure no panty lines. —

One of the big benefits of these panties is that they pack really well and do not take up a lot of space. They are lightweight, and they also dry really quick. This is great for someone on the road. —

Bottom line is that these panties are worth every dime. —...

bethjo says "great to sleep, but .............." about Tempur-Pedic Classic Mattress

The first thing you need to know about tempurpedic is that it is really expensive. We decided to go ahead and buy the bed to replace a water bed that broke. It was a huge mistake. On the plus side, the tempurpedic bed is really comfortable, and I slept well. On the negative side, there are other activities that one likes to do in bed, and the mattress isn't very good for that. —

I know of two other couples who have bought this bed, and ended up buying a different one within months. This bed is an expensive mistake. —

On the positive side, the pillows are absolutely fantastic. If this is the bed you would like, I recommend buying a mattress topper and a pillow. The cost is significantly less, and you will get the value of both items. —...
