bethglen says "IT WORKS!!!!" about Wii Fit

We purchased the Wii system a few months ago and as soon as I heard about Wii Fit I had to have it! I mainly walk for exercise, have tried lots of fitness dvd's, but always get bored rather quickly. I received the Wii Fit for my birthday and in one week I have lost 1.1 lbs and dropped my BMI by one point! And that is just with exercise, not with dieting!

The Wii Fit has over 40 different exercises and activities - a limited number are available at first and then as you complete more tasks, more open up. It is so much fun, you don't even realize you are exercising, but you sure do break a sweat! People who tell you you will not burn calories are WRONG WRONG WRONG! Make no mistake, this is fun, but it is exercise! I naively went into it thinking I would immediately be working out in 30 minute stretches. After one week I am up to 15 minutes, hope to get up to 20 minutes this week and eventually make that 30 minute mark.

Do not waste your money on tapes, gym memberships, or......

bethglen says "Sweet, calm, loveable!" about Dog Breed Rat-Terrier

My "brother" is a rat terrier! My mom adopted her rat terrier when he was two years old. He was, unfortunately neglected and abused by his former owner, but he is the sweetest guy ever! He loves to cuddle - he thinks he is a lap dog! He stays very calm, lets my daughter climb all over him and does not harm a hair on her head. He has a little "sister" who is a miniature pinscher, she likes to attack him and chew on his ankles and nose and pesters him to pieces but he does not harm her at all. I would not hesitate to bring a rat terrier into my own home!...

bethglen says "Do you have a good dermatolgist??" about Clinique 3 Step Acne System

Do NOT buy this stuff! I was talked into buying a bunch of Clinique skin care products by a friend of mine and it was the WORST decision of my life! I had a SEVERE skin reaction and my face broke in actual PUSTULES. I had always suffered from mild acne, but after using Clinique I had to consult a dermatalogist for over a year. Even he could not help me and I finally found Pro Activ which worked like a miracle. Do not waste your hard earned money on Clinique, instead use Pro Activ!!!!...

bethglen says "One word - Works!" about Proactiv Solution

I suffered from acne for years, even seeing a dermatologist and he was not able to help me. My skin was broke out all the time, at turns oily and dry and very red and raw looking. Then I heard about Pro Activ from a tv ad. I didn't think it would work, but it sure did! That was about nine years ago and I am still using it and have clear skin that does not hurt anymore! I would highly recommend this product, I plan on getting my daughter on it the minute I see her first zit. I don't want her to go through what I went through.

The only bad thing is the cost, if you get the stuff from the company you will pay an arm and a leg and end up with a stock pile of product because they mail it to you every 4-6 weeks, which is way faster than you can use it. Plus back when I was on the mail order plan it cost me $46 every time I got it in the mail, that adds up fast. But that was before Ebay! I now get my ProActiv on Ebay and you can usually find a good deal. I really wish they would......

bethglen says "Great place - just not Thanksgiving - New Years!" about Bronner's Christmas Wonderland - Frankenmuth, MI

We have visited Bronner's many times, it's a fun place, but only if you are not knee deep in tourists! The best times to go are "off season", during the week. I would highly recommend you avoid the place the day after Thanksgiving and the entire month of December. I have been there a few times during the busy times and you literally cannot walk!

The store is huge, maybe that's the only downside, it's so big you don't know if you are seeing everything! I am sure there are bits I have missed!

The prices are not too bad, some things are overpriced but I think that's to be expected in a place like this. If you are looking for a very specific Christmas ornament Bronner's is a good place to look. Also they personalize almost everything.
...

bethglen says "My daughter loves this seat!" about Evenflo Big Kid Car Seat

My five year old daughter loves this booster seat, she says it's very comfy and loves that cup/snack holders on either side of the seat. It's extremely easy to fasten in - you simply thread your seat belt shoulder harness through the plastic loop and the seat is in. Then you just fasten the belt like you normally would. Also, the back comes off making this a two in one seat. For the time being we are leaving the back on, but as she gets older we may remove the back to accomodate her growth. Very easy to use, not hard to carry if you need to move it from vehicle to vehicle. Also, VERY good price, I believe we paid around $35 for ours....

bethglen says "Save your money and just use plastic bags!!!" about Playtex Diaper Genie Pail

We purchased this item when I was pregnant because all the books and magazines said we needed to and everyone raved about the Diaper Genie. I couldn't wait to use it, I was sure it would take care of all our nasty gross smelly diapers and would be neat to use too! The first time we used it after our daughter was born, it bundled up one diaper and then promptly jammed. We didn't realize it was jammed however until we put in the second diaper and ended up with a big smelly mess on our hands. We just figured we weren't doing it right, so we got out the instruction book and tried again. After following the instructions to a T with the same results we gave up and just used plastic grocery bags to bag up the mess and toss away. This is an expense a new parent does not need, especially when the thing doesn't work. Save yourself some hard cash that you can use on diapers instead and don't buy the Diaper Genie!...

bethglen says "Large, roomy crib for your child to grow with!" about Da Vinci Jenny Lind Crib

We purchased this crib for our daughter before she was born, based mainly on the name brand and the price. It was very affordable! I also liked that the crib was advertised as being able to convert to a toddler/youth bed at a later date. The crib is well made, very sturdy and quite beautiful (we purchased the white finish). It is also very large, so if you are looking for a smaller crib for a small room this may not be the best choice for you. When our daughter was first born we lowered the side of the crib and used the mattress as a changing table. It was just the right height, especially as I had had a c-section and was unable to bend very well. Our daughter slept in a bassinet beside our bed until she was nearly six months old, at which point we moved her to the crib. She slept fine in it until she was almost one year old. At that point she had trouble sleeping and grew to actually dislike the crib. I don't think this had to do with the crib itself though, just a......
