betbru says "Helped Avoid Major Problems." about Bank of America - Visa Card

We received an automated phone call the Friday before Thanksgiving about suspicious activity on our account. We returned the call to the Fraud Department and went over the statement item by item. There were approximately 25 charges in one day that were not ours. B of A had identified the suspicious activity and denied charges to stop usage of our card number. Our account was closed and new cards issued within 2 days. We couldn't have asked for better service. — We have our "best guess" where the charges originated. We had made an online purchase just 1 day prior to the fraudulent charges. So, multiple charges online set off an alarm. Usually all of the activity on our credit card is for gas and monthly authorized charges. I sure hope they catch whoever did this. —...

betbru says "Warms the room and maintains the temperature." about Bionaire Digital Tower Ceramic Heater

My husband and I each have a "work room" (12' X 22' each) in our basement. We finally broke down this year and purchased the room heater. The rooms were just too cold to work in during the winter months. We were split on our concerns. He wanted heat fast but inexpensive. I was concerned about safety around our dog and grandkids. — We decided to test out this unit to see if it would meet our requirements. The heater can be set for the desired room temperature and it takes over from there. If the unit is accidentally knocked over it will self shut off. — We are going to buy another of this heater for the other room. We can easily give this product a thumbs up! —...

betbru says "Wonderful Source of Records" about Ancestry.com

I first started in genealogy before computers. Everything was on microfilm which had to be ordered and printed on funny paper. Our other choices for information were left up to the services of the post office and more waiting. — Now we stay at home with our computers, with DSL and a site called Ancestry.com. Our information is instant to some degree. We can print a copy of the actual census records with our ancestors listed. I have even seen the signature of a relative listed as the Enumerator of the census. I appreciate the work that has gone into creating this site and find in very easy to move around through the records and searches. I must admit I wish they could move a little faster on pension records for the Civil War. —...

betbru says "Information at it's best!" about The Week

This magazine is unlike the other "News" magazines on the market. They just tell the story! We were given a gift subscription for Christmas a couple years ago. We let it lapse last year, but are ready to subscribe again. I feel uninformed on too many issues. I miss the unbiased reports, the views of our country as reported in world wide media, the book reviews and the story at the back of each...

betbru says "At the top of my favorites!" about The Pillars of the Earth

I have read this book three times and purchased it four times. I have passed copies on to friends who in turn have passed it along to others. I am a hobby genealogist with an interest in early England. Ken Follet wrote a tale of the cathederal builders that took me back in time. I was sorry when the book ended, but have now informed everyone of the follow-up book (World Without End). —...
