bernie99 says "Even crying babies are not a problem." about Thai Airways

I have been to Thailand several times and my prefered airlines is Thai International. They have all the things you would want in an airline. Great food that is almost at restaurant quality (which isnt bad when you are at 40,000 feet above the middle of the Pacific Ocean). The seats were roomy and comfortable even in economy class. The aircraft was clean. Very attentive flight attendants. What ever you want, what everyou need, these wonderful people make you think they are glad that you brought it to their attention so they could take care of it.

One flight I was on, I was seated directly behind an infant. Anyone who has flown on the same airplane as an infant knows how bad that can be. Thai International has what they call a baby flight attendant dedicated to making sure the baby (and the rest of us) has a good flight. Every time that kid peeped the flight attendant was there within a minute to see if she could help. She warmed bottles. She walked the kid up and down the aisles. She played...
...

bernie99 says "If you dont know where to invest, this is the place to be." about Vanguard - 500 Index Fund

Vanguard has a well deserved reputuaion for low fees and good service. They have mutual funds for just about any style of investing. If you know what you want in an investment, they probably have a fund that will fit your needs. If you are not so sure what you are doing then index funds are the way to go. The most widely watched index is the Standard and Poor 500. It is made up of 500 different stocks that closely track the overall market and over the long haul the stock market has the best return of any investment.

The Vanguard Index 500 Fund is an almost exact match of the S&P 500 index. There are many other fund companies that do the same thing but Vanguard was first with the concept and their fees are some of the lowest in the industry. If everybody is trying to match the S&P 500 then the one with the best overall return on your money will be the one who takes the lowest fees from your account. And since they are not trading any stocks or any other kind of activities in the fund,...
...

bernie99 says "A cockatiel makes a wonderful pet" about Nymphicus hollandicus Cockatiel

Cockatiels make wonderful pets. They are intelligent, affectionate, and easy to care for. Each bird has it's own personality ranging from noisy and very out going to more reserved and quiet. They are good around kids and other pets and provide hours of entertainment. They come in a variety of color patterns and will live 15 to 20 years.

With a little patience they can be taught to talk and whistle and do tricks. I am on my third cockatiel now. Whistles come easy to them and they all learned to talk to one degree or another. My second bird loved to do tricks. "Batman" was his his favorite trick. On his own or on command he would hang upside down in his cage and spread his wings until he got the praise he was looking for.

They like to be around people. In the wild they come in flocks of hundreds to thousands. As pets, we are their flock and they want to be with us. One of my birds liked to groom my mustache and put every hair where he wanted it. Given a chance they will sit on your shoulder...
...
